´She thought President Obama was stalking her´: Dental hygienist shot dead after ramming her car into the White House ´suffered delusions due to postpartum depression´ Daily Mail [UK], by Louise Boyle*
The Connecticut mother who was gunned down by police yesterday after ramming a White House barrier with her young daughter in the car thought President Obama was stalking her, law sources said today. Investigators have found indications that Miriam Carey suffered delusions due to a history of mental illness, NBC Connecticut reports. Last night her mother revealed the 34-year-old has suffered from postpartum depression since giving birth to her daughter Erica last year. These revelations are the first clues as to what led a seemingly happy dental hygienist to snap and drive her Infiniti luxury sedan 270 miles from her home in suburban

And there wasn´t one single family member or friend who get her under lock and key? That baby was 18 months old. That´s a long time for someone to suffer and go untreated from postpartum depression.
I heard that worm, Geraldo, revising his history this morning. He was mealy mouthing about his part in getting the extreme mentally ill released from institutions by saying his part in it was to see Downs Syndrome and other brain damaged people released, not the severely mentally ill. Horse pucky. I remember well when that battle went on, and what it resulted in was thousands upon countless thousands of the severely mentally ill becoming homeless and at will to wreak havoc upon the general population, and do untold damage to themselves.
A great many of the homeless are mentally ill. Released to their own devices. But they are "free" to abuse themselves with alcohol, drugs, refuse to take their medication, unsafe sex and exposure to the elements because many will not accept any help. Do you really think they are better off sleeping on a grate when it is 18 degrees outside and snowing?
I´m waiting to hear what happened between Carey and the SS agent near the White House barricade. - What exactly did they say to each other? - And what prompted the SS to begin shooting at her, at that WH-area location? No surprise that after they started shooting, she took off like a bat out of hell ... one would not have to be insane to do that.
But I doubt we will ever hear the full truth. Just like with the Navy Yard shooter, the MSM will glom onto the dubious "mental illness" excuse, then gladly let the story go down the memory hole.
Why? Because if there´s no gun-toting white conservative who can be villainized, the story doesn´t fit the MSM´s narrative.
Did some of us not read the article? A neighbor, when asked if that thought Carey was mentally ill said "Absolutely" because her tires had been slashed over something with this woman. He dentist fired her for hurting his patients!!
There are people, plenty of them, wandering around you and your children, who years ago would have been safely locked away and cared for. (Before the horrible, cruel, hateful liberals took away their care. Hope Rivera rots in you-know-where for his participation.)
I have said so many times here that we know a family and the son was released from a state mental institution and his parents were so afraid of him they wouldn´t let him come home. His grandmother took him in and in return, he stabbed her, not fatally, 37 times in her kitchen. Later he died setting himself on fire and burned down his entire building.
How many people did he hurt? Not all that unusual.
You cannot ascribe "normal" behavior and thought processes to people who are mentally ill. Read Kay Jamison Redfield as she ´describes´ what a psychotic episode is like. You can´t imagine even when she does.
The mentally ill need, really need, for their sake and the sake of others, to be cared for properly -which they are currently not!
Sandy Hook, the Aurora theatre, VA Tech, and yes, Columbine (One of the two boys was on Lithium)these are all the fault of liberal idiots (and the ACLU) who support such garbage.
Fox reported a while ago that she suffered from schizophrenia and took meds for it. It resulted from a fall she had some months before her baby was born. Her then-boss said she had a bad fall on a stairway and had a "significant head injury". She was hospitalized at the time. She found out that she was pregnant during that hospitalization. Her baby was born in August 2012 so that would have been in early 2012.
A robber was spotted breaking into a car belonging to one of John Kerry´s bodyguards, which was parked at the Secretary of State´s Georgetown home last night. In a major security breach for Mr Kerry, a white male was said to have broken into a detached garage on the property at about 10pm before gaining access to the car. Mr Kerry was on official business in Rome at the time, but the break in is sure to be an embarrassment for the team of bodyguards tasked with keeping outsiders at a safe distance. A source told Fox 5 that the
European leaders united in anger today as they attended a European Union summit overshadowed by reports of widespread US spying on its allies. German Chancellor Angela Merkel said the allegations had shattered trust in President Barack Obama’s administration and undermined the crucial trans-Atlantic relationship. Claims that the US National Security Agency swept up more than 70million phone records in France and may have tapped Mrs Merkel´s own mobile brought criticism from the French and Germans. Mrs Merkel´s stern remarks at the EU gathering indicated she was not placated by talks yesterday with President Obama, or his personal assurances that the
A team at the University of Cambridge has found the first proof that mutated DNA does indeed slow metabolism. The researchers say fewer than one in 100 people are affected and are often severely obese by early childhood. The findings, published in the journal Cell, may lead to new obesity treatments even for people without the mutation. Scientists at the Institute of Metabolic Science, in Cambridge, knew that mice born without a section of DNA, a gene called KSR2, gained weight more easily. But they did not know what affect it may be having in people, so they analysed the DNA of 2,101
The unique beer ice cream, called Frozen Pints, comes in seven different flavours and the strongest tub has a alcohol level of 3.2 percent. Peach Lambic is the weakest at 1 percent, while Pumpkin Ale at 3.2 percent is the strongest ice cream on offer. Each special portion of ice cream comes in a 454ml tub and costs £4.33. Ari Fleischer, founder of Frozen Pints from New York, said how the quirky concept actually started by accident. The 29-year-old said: "We were having a party and a friend brought over an ice cream maker to make homemade ice cream.
The National Security Agency has monitored the phone conversations of at least 35 world leaders after being given their numbers by an official in another government department, according to a classified document leaked by whistle-blower Edward Snowden. The confidential memo reveals that senior officials in ´customer´ departments such the White House and the Pentagon were encouraged to share their ‘Rolodexes’ of contact details with the NSA. The agency then added the phone numbers of the foreign politicians to their surveillance systems and started to monitor them. According to the leaked document handed over to The Guardian, one unnamed official handed over 200
Patients could be at risk in one in four hospitals, alarming new NHS ratings reveal today. Health inspectors have raised fears about high death rates, long waits for A&E, cancer treatment, botched operations and patients struggling to even find staff. Urgent inspections will be made of the worst NHS trusts, with officials admitting that at some patients ‘might not be receiving safe, effective, high quality care’. New rankings from the Care Quality Commission reveal 44 hospitals are put in the two lowest bands, with warnings that they are at ‘raised risk of poor performance’. Using ‘intelligent monitoring’ the CQC has
The White House admitted Thursday that it was the source of a phony quote attributed to a top House Republican, who had allegedly told President Obama during a tense Oct. 10 meeting that ´I cannot even stand to look at you.´ Sen. Dick Durbin, the Senate Majority Whip, claimed in a Facebook post on Sunday that an unnamed GOP lawmaker had delivered the verbal slap in Obama´s face, but everyone involved with the story now says it never happened. Eighteen Republicans from Congress attended that meeting with the president during a 16-day partial shutdown of the federal government, with the
Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius bragged in July on her agency´s health care blog that ´we´re on track with the implementation of the Affordable Care Act. It´s signed, sealed, and it´s delivering--on time. Eleven weeks later, Sebelius and the rest of the Obamacare rollout team came under fire when its flagship website crashed, flubbed and gaffed its way into the historical annals of failed launches. HHS published an infographic and a video on July 15, boasting that a series of benchmarks were reached on the way to what was hoped to be a seamless implementation of the Affordable
A deadline for signing up to Barack Obama´s trouble-hit health insurance reforms without penalties will be postponed by six weeks, the White House has said. Officials confirmed that enrollment requirements were being changed so that consumers could register for health insurance right up to the March 31 deadline. As it stands, some people previously needed to be signed up by February 15 to ensure their insurance cover took effect in time to avoid sanctions. A White House official said that pushing back the sign-up requirement was not related to glitches with Healthcare.gov, but was simply an effort to eliminate a ´disconnect´ over
Germany has summoned the US ambassador in Berlin over claims that the US monitored German Chancellor Angela Merkel´s mobile phone. Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle will meet US envoy John Emerson later in what is seen as an unusual step between close allies. Mrs Merkel has demanded a "complete explanation" of the claims, which are threatening to overshadow an EU summit. [Snip] President Obama told Mrs Merkel the US was not monitoring her calls and would not in future, the White House said. However, it left open the question of whether calls had been listened to in the past.
The rift between America and Saudi Arabia has many causes, ranging from President Obama’s failure to use force in Syria to the impasse in the Israeli-Palestinian peace talks. But I would suggest that one subject above all lies behind the tension: Iran. When it comes to the ambitions of the Shia theocracy across the waters of the Gulf, Saudi Arabia’s leadership is not exactly a model of cool rationality. King Abdullah summed up its attitude when he advised America to “cut off the head of the snake”, according to a leaked diplomatic cable. As the custodian of the holy mosques
For more than 20 years, there have been one or two medical commentators in newspapers, such as the Telegraph´s great James Le Fanu, who have rejected the cholesterol theory of heart disease. Dr Le Fanu has always maintained that (most) people should stick to the boiled eggs and buttered soldiers for breakfast and avoid margarine as if their lives depended on it. [Snip] The evidence is pretty persuasive. The essence of it is: recent studies have failed to support any significant association between saturated fat intake and cardiovascular risk. Indeed, saturated fat has actually been found to be protective--though it
On Sunday night, I wrote a short post soliciting stories from my readers about how Obamacare has already immediately impacted their lives. I asked that all of these emails be directed to ObamacareMakesMeSick@Yahoo.com. I expected a response; I didn’t expect it to be quite so overwhelming. Over the last 24 hours, my inbox has been flooded with hundreds of emails. What you’ll read in this post represents a portion of them. I’m only one guy (with a fulltime job and twins) — I wasn’t able to go through every single message just yet. Some, I left out because the information
Does President Obama belong on the same list as John Kennedy and Bill Clinton when it comes to presidents who are sex symbols? That’s what Entertainment Tonight reporter Rocsi Diaz thinks. First Lady Michelle Obama chuckled and smiled as Diaz asked her what it’s like to be married to someone who’s seen by many women as a “sex symbol,” in an interview that aired Tuesday evening. “He’s got a little swag, you know, that’s okay,” the first lady said. “I’m proud of him. He’s a stylish man who is healthy and he’s smart and he’s passionate and he’s inspiring. And
Healthcare insurance executives were received at the White House today — but not to confront President Obama about the flub-ridden exchange launched on Oct. 1. Instead, the CEOs of Aetna, Humana, CareFirst, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida, Health Net, Inc., Health Care Services Corporation, Independence Blue Cross, America’s Health Insurance Plans, Molina Healthcare, Centene Corp., Tufts Health Plan, Blue Cross Blue Shield Association, Wellpoint and Kaiser Permanente got to meet with Obama’s senior adviser Valerie Jarrett. Meanwhile, on the Hill, Pelosi brushed off the tech implosion as something they just have to be able to fix because she doesn’t want to
Senate majority leader Harry Reid says that "Everybody" is "willing to pay more" taxes. He said so in an interview with a Nevada Public Radio host. “The only people who feel there shouldn’t be more coming in to the federal government from the rich people are the Republicans in the Congress,” Reid told the radio host, according to Roll Call. “Everybody else, including the rich people, are willing to pay more. They want to pay more.” Reid rebuked the Nevada Public Radio host when he was asked what Republicans would have to concede to get Medicare and Social Security cuts
It took a tea-party insurrection that disabled the federal government and wrecked the Republican brand, but after months of handwringing, establishment Republicans are preparing to attack ultraconservative ideologues across red America. (Snip) "Hopefully we´ll go into eight to 10 races and beat the snot out of them," said former Rep. Steve LaTourette of Ohio, whose new political group, Defending Main Street, aims to raise $8 million to fend off tea-party challenges against more mainstream Republican incumbents. "We´re going to be very aggressive and we´re going to get in their faces." The caterwauling over the GOP brand ramped up after President Obama´s
After a shutdown fight that had Republicans in Congress taking sides against one another, the Senate minority whip put out a plea for unity today in the form of a Fox News op-ed. “In recent weeks, the national media have been obsessed with highlighting divisions and disagreements among Republicans on Capitol Hill. It’s time for GOP lawmakers to remind the American people of what unites us,” Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) wrote. “Republicans are united in our desire to dismantle President Obama’s health care law and replace it with patient-centered alternatives that reduce costs, expand quality insurance coverage, and improve access to
On Wednesday, Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) revealed that he was working on a bill to delay the Obamacare individual mandate. He said in late September that he would support efforts to delay the individual mandate, but this is the first time that Manchin has signified that he will lead a legislative effort toward such a delay. Manchin’s spokesperson, Jonathan Kott, said Manchin will not back Sen. Marco Rubio’s (R-FL) proposal for an indefinite delay to work out insurance exchange glitches, but that he would instead work on a bill “to delay the pena
More than 700 websites have been created with names playing off of Obamacare or Healthcare.gov, making it likely that some Americans will mistakenly hand over private information to unknown third-parties. For instance, there is a website — www.obama-care.us — that brands itself as part of the "Obamacare enrollment team," directs people to an "Obamacare enrollment form" and asks users for their name, address, Social Security number and other contact information. According to a counter at the bottom of the page, more than 3,000 people have visited obama-care.us.
Juan Williams has a clear grip on responsibility for the failure of a program that got passed in Congress with no Republican votes, and implemented with no Republican management in a Democratic administration. Williams claims that the White House would have delayed the rollout of ObamaCare’s exchanges except for the opposition of the GOP to the program as a whole. As a result, Williams argues, Barack Obama and Kathleen Sebelius had no choice but to lie about the exchanges and let it unfold. Come on — you knew the media would eventually get around to this argument. You just didn’t
A top Senate Democrat said that a leading House Republican told President Obama that they could not ´even stand to look at you´ during negotiations over the government shutdown. Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) said in a Facebook post that the alleged confrontation happened during a meeting between Republicans and the president. "Many Republicans searching for something to say in defense of the disastrous shutdown strategy will say President Obama just doesn´t try hard enough to communicate with Republicans," Durbin said. "But in a ´negotiation´ meeting with the president, one GOP House Leader told the president: ´I cannot even stand to
Marines are decrying a new look President Obama has planned for their uniforms — namely, a unisex-style cap that they say looks more French than American, more “girly” than hard-charging. “We don’t even have enough funding to buy bullets and the DoD [Department of Defense] is pushing to spend $8 million on covers that look like women’s hats,” one senior Marine said to The New York Post. “The Marines deserve better. It makes them look ridiculous.” One estimate is that the new hats could cost about $8 million. The hats are thinner and smaller, aimed at looking equally good on females as well
On the top of Thursday´s broadcast of his radio show, Sean Hannity revealed Erling Davis, the Obamacare operator he called early in his Monday show, got fired. Hannity quizzed her on how well the law is being received by applicants and she revealed no one liked it. Hannity had Davis on his show today and revealed he will give her a year´s salary of $26,000 and help her find a new job.
