Jane Fonda will receive the American Film Institute´s 42nd Life Achievement Award, one of Hollywood´s most prestigious career honors. "Jane Fonda is American film royalty," AFI chairman Howard Stringer said in a statement released Thursday. "A bright light first introduced to the world as the daughter of Henry Fonda, the world watched as she found her own voice and forged her own path." At 75, Fonda´s career hasn´t slowed, including roles in "Lee Daniels´ The Butler" and HBO´s "The Newsroom." Long ago, decent society refused to have anything to do with actors/actresses outside watching them perform. They realized the entire lot was a bunch of degenerates that were so filthy you risked contamination coming anywhere near them. I think the same could be said for today´s performers.

Unfortunately, happy couples and abusive couples happen to look a lot alike. The trial for Oscar Pistorius, the South African Olympic sprinter who is accused of murdering his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, begins on Monday. Pistorius shot Steenkamp through the door while she was in the bathroom. Prosecutors say that he did it on purpose, suggesting that Steenkamp was hiding in the bathroom during a lovers’ tiff. New York -- A Brooklyn man who registered domain names related to real estate mogul Donald Trump must pay $32,000 damages, a judge ruled Friday. J. Taikwok Yung, a self-described "domainer" developed four websites -- trumpmumbai.com, trumpindia.com, trumpbeijing.com, and trumpbudhabi.com -- parodying the well-known businessman and providing commentary, often disparaging, on Trump and his television shows "The Apprentice" and "The Celebrity Apprentice." Attorneys representing Trump filed a countersuit against Yung, 34, at the U.S. District Court in Brooklyn in March 2013, seeking damages for "federal cybersquatting." WASHINGTON -- President Barack Obama and his Russian counterpart, President Vladimir Putin, strongly disagree over what´s at stake in the Ukraine crisis. Those differing views were made clear in a 90-minute phone call and could make it difficult to find a resolution to the crisis in Ukraine. In the Saturday call, Obama called Russia´s actions "a clear violation of Ukrainian sovereignty" and called for Russia to pull its forces back to bases in Ukraine´s Crimean region and de-escalate tensions. President Putin responded that the turmoil in Ukraine posed real threats to the life and health of Russian citizens living in

They say the French are the world’s greatest lovers—all the more reason to be concerned over a new study showing a declining quality in the country’s swimmers. It’s long been a stereotype that French men are naturally gifted lovers, but the cliché—like the country’s male population—may be losing its potency. The same researchers behind an alarming 2012 study on the decline of the average Frenchman’s sperm have now focused their attention on the geographic regions where swimmer concentration is particularly low—and found pesticides may be at the root of the problem. When eight-year-old Myles Eckert found $20 in a Cracker Barrel parking lot, he didn´t spend it on a video game - he gave it to a soldier to thank him for his service. Myles was just five-weeks-old when his father, Army Sgt. Andy Eckert was killed in Iraq. In honor of his dad´s memory, the Ohio boy wrapped the money in a touching handwritten note and handed it to Lt. Col. Frank Dailey who was eating lunch at the restaurant: ´Dear Soldier - my dad was a soldier. He's in heaven now. I found this 20 dollars in the parking lot when we got here. Kennedy — who had faced up to a year in jail if convicted — hugged both her lawyers as the verdict was read, and then began clapping after the jurors left the courtroom. President Barack Obama is warning Russia "there will be costs" for any military maneuvers it launches in Ukraine, a move U.S. and Ukrainian officials say they believe to be already underway. Officials say Obama may retaliate by canceling a trip to Russia this summer for an international summit and could also cut off trade discussions with Moscow. But it´s unclear whether those moves will have any impact on Russia´s calculus in Ukraine, which is at the center of what many see as a tug of war between East and West. There’s no evidence that Obama wants to get involved in what may become a war between the Ukraine and Russia. He did not threaten any significant retaliation if Russian force attack nor did he offer military aid to the Ukraine. He announced that Vice President Joe Biden — but not
