Need health care coverage?

Need health insurance? The Obama administration has you covered. Simply dial 1-800-F***YO to reach the next available health-care provider. Far from being a mistype, that’s the official number that Health and Human Services wants Americans to dial when seeking health care. Obamacare’s national call center really did list its number as 1-800-318-2596, helpfully spelling out President Barack Obama’s tendency to blatantly flip the bird in plain view. After allowing for the lack of letters attached to 1 on a traditional American telephone keypad, the number spells out a clear message. For every duped voter, every young invincible weighing the cost

DENVER – Denver Public Schools administrators believe they are the first school district in the nation to actively seek out people who were initially brought to the United States illegally to now teach in the classroom. "We look forward to increasing the number of great teachers who are in our classrooms and who are also role models for children who have similar cultural backgrounds and life experiences," Tom Boasberg, superintendent of Denver Public Schools, said. U.S. Sen. Angus King, an independent from Maine, said he’s considering caucusing with Republicans if they win a majority of seats in the Senate during the midterm elections. Shortly after he voted with Republicans on Wednesday against the Paycheck Fairness Act, a piece of legislation that Democrats have prioritized ahead of the November elections, King was asked whether he might align with Republicans. Since he was elected in 2012, the two-term Maine governor has caucused with Democrats and voted with them on most issues. “I’ll make my decision at the time based on what I think is best for Maine,”

House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa, R-Calif., has accused the panel´s top Democrat of prompting the Internal Revenue Service in 2012 to target a conservative organization applying for nonprofit status. Issa said records obtained last week from the IRS show communications from the office of ranking member Rep. The U.S. trade deficit climbed to the highest level in five months in February as demand for American exports fell while imports increased slightly. The deficit increased to $42.3 billion, which was 7.7 percent above the January imbalance of $39.3 billion, the Commerce Department reported Thursday. The deals would lower trade barriers and are seen by supporters as a good way to boost U.S. export sales. But critics, including many labor unions,

As further proof the NFL never is far from the headlines, owners could make plenty of news this week at their spring meetings. They will consider 13 playing rules proposals and seven bylaws. They will discuss expanding the playoff field from 12 to 14 teams, although a vote on such a move is uncertain. Some changes would seem to be slam dunks: extending the height of the goal posts 5 feet to help determine if kicks are good; eliminating overtime in preseason games; placing fixed TV cameras on the goal lines, end lines and sidelines to help with replay reviews.

Beef and veal shoppers were socked with some of the biggest increases, as prices jumped 4% from January. Overall inflation remained tame, as falling gasoline and other energy costs offset the food price increases. The consumer price index ticked up just 0.1% from January and 1.1% in the past year.

How does the Republican Party establishment choose its presidential candidate? Typically, constitutionalists accuse their establishment rivals of being moderate, risk-averse, stubborn old fools who lack faith in conservative principles. This is a soothing interpretation, as it begins from the hypothesis that the contest between conservatives and the GOP elite is a family feud. But there is another hypothesis -- less soothing, but, at least from an outsider´s bird´s-eye view, more reconcilable with the facts. This hypothesis is that America has reached a stage of progressive soft despotism in which the only important family feud in national politics is between the fundamentally
