Pamela Anderson to Run
the New York City Marathon
for Haitian Relief

People Magazine, by Maggie Coughlan

Original Article

Posted By:varkdriver, 9/30/2013 1:38:20 PM

All that running on Baywatch has finally paid off. Pamela Anderson announced her plans to run the ING New York City Marathon on her Twitter account on Sunday – all in the name of a good cause. "I´m running the New York Marathon this year and raising funds for the J/P Haitian Relief Organization," she Tweeted. Spanning across the five boroughs, the Marathon takes place Nov. 3, leaving Anderson just over a month to raise funds to support J/P HRO, an organization that aims to save lives and bring sustainable programs to the Haiti following the earthquake of 2010.

Comments:
Not sure if she has been training already, but the marathon is only about one month away. Let´s send more money to Haiti, that should help the reconstruction efforts to finally start.

How much did Clinton and Sean Penn actually invest in Haiti?
How much did they siphon off for " expenses."?

Years and millions of dollars later, the people of Haiti are no better off than they were.
Useful tools raising money for a corrupt government, the people see relief only from private religious charities.
Time to wake up and realize we can´t help the entire world.

When you´ve only got one (or two) things upon which your popularity (and, indeed, your livelihood) has been thus far based, you´ve got to bounce them for all they´re worth. So it´s going to be boogity-boogity-boogity for 26.2 (or 24.85, if your a historical purist) miles.

Odd. I thought there was a hugely-overpaid UN department that kept track, so that no rat-hole went without money being wasted on it?

That´s not correct?

BTW, Haiti has some problems money can never fix. I will illuminate below. But if you can´t [more likely, won´t] deal with truth, go elsewhere now, please. Do we have a deal?

[snipped for concision and space] 1,034 students from 54 schools (Cotten, 1985, p. 2).... The ability test is the Raven’s.... For 518 children participating in the feeding program, the reported score is 56 (Annex G).... [For another group this] would correspond to an IQ score of 69. [Flynn Effect discussed.] (You don´t know "Flynn Effect"? But you´ll argue this? Despite my caveat?) ... then the scores in the Haitian group would actually correspond to an IQ of 64. Scores were only fractionally lower for the 515 children not participating in the feeding program (Annex G). So this study suggests an IQ of 64 for 1,033 Haitian school children in 1981." Above from
"HumanVarieties.org"

If you don´t have bricks, you can´t build a brick house. Got it?

I wish the Haitians well, but unless and until the basic fact of identified differences between identifiable groups in mental capability is acknowledged [most of all by Lefty hand-wringers], only waste and delay of desperately-needed appropriate opportunities can ever result.

It was a Thursday night, normally a slow time for churches and synagogues, but the sanctuary of The Source Spiritual Center in Venice was packed. When a diminutive woman stepped to the front of the room, people paused in their scramble for a chair or purchase of a T-shirt and engulfed her in cheers and applause. She called for a moment of silence. The audience stilled. She dedicated the evening ahead "to all that is good … to the fulfillment of love" in everyone. "And so it is," concluded Marianne Williamson — friend of Oprah, associate of Hollywood elites, best-selling author and charismatic

MINNEAPOLIS – Some deliciously underdressed women will be bringing new meaning to the term “iceberg lettuce” on Nicollet Mall in downtown Minneapolis this Thursday afternoon. The two ladies will be wearing bikinis made from the vegetable, and yes, they’ll be wearing them outside during a day when the high temperature is expected to stall out at zero degrees. The “Lettuce Ladies” will be braving the cold temperatures on behalf of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). They will be holding signs urging people to celebrate a new year by “turning over a new leaf” and going vegan.

Urine for a good time at Coca-Cola Park´s male bathrooms this season. A brand-new “urinal game system” will let fans of Lehigh Valley’s IronPigs live-stream a video game right from the restroom. And it’s completely “p-controlled.” “These games are sure to make a huge splash," IronPigs General Manager Kurt Landes told MiLB.com. The system turns on when a user approaches the urinal. The right kind of angling can help multi-tasking gamers guide a snowmobile down virtual alpine roads littered with plump penguins. The 55-second game tests both “agility and knowledge.”

President Obama addressed the White House press corps today, announcing that with the final numbers in, Obamacare´s exchanges have attracted eight million sign-ups -- 35 percent of whom are "under the age of 35," he said. Several elements of his comments were misleading: (1) At first blush, the 35 percent stat is both significant and impressive. As recently as last month, the share of "young invincibles" signing up for plans was struggling in the 25 percent range, far short of the actuarial target of nearly 40 percent. A leap into the mid-30´s, while still shy of the goal, would constitute a major step, and would bode well for the risk pools'

It’s the stuff of Westerns: a showdown on the desert plains, the big bad government against an underdog farmer. Though the story has only grabbed national headlines in the past several days, rancher Cliven Bundy has illegally grazed cattle on the Nevada land surrounding his farm for over 20 years. He hasn’t paid grazing fees since 1993, and refuses to renew the necessary grazing permit.(Snip)Rather than using the avenues and pathways presented to him, Bundy has staunchly declared his own law and allegiances. Unfortunately, reality doesn’t work this way. If only it did—we could rebel for paying stupid taxes, refuse to

Lee´s "dishonorable side." According to the Roanoke Times, "seven multiracial students, calling themselves ´The Committee,´" have also demanded the school "acknowledge and apologize for participating in chattel slavery." They want recognition of "Martin Luther King Jr. Day on the undergraduate campus" and an end to "neo-Confederates" marching across campus "to the Lee Chapel on Lee-Jackson Day." The students say they will "engage in civil disobedience" if their demands are not met by September 1st. They added: "The

The White House is going to war with another fox — and this time, it’s personal. The Wall Street Journal reports that a red fox has been causing chaos around the White House, tripping security alarms, digging up Michelle’s garden and distracting the president from his duties. The Secret Service won’t give any details about how often the fox trips the White House’s obviously sophisticated security alarms, but rest assured, officials say, they’re watching. President Obama was apparently “stunned” to see the fox roaming freely down the oft-photographed White House colonnade, home to the world’s shortest, but most dramatic, outdoor strolls. GREENSBORO, Ga. — Golf holes the size of pizzas. Soccer balls on the back nine. A mulligan on every hole. These are some of the measures — some would say gimmicks — that golf courses across the country have experimented with to stop people from quitting the game. Golf has always reveled in its standards and rich tradition. But increasingly a victim of its own image and hidebound ways, golf has lost five million players in the last decade, according to the National Golf Foundation, with 20 percent of the existing 25 million golfers apt to quit in the next few years. People under 35 have especially spurned the game, saying it takes too

Hi, everybody. For millions of Americans, this time of year holds great meaning. Earlier this week, we hosted a Passover Seder at the White House, and joined Jewish families around the world in their re-tellings of the story of the Exodus and the victory of faith over oppression. And this Sunday, Michelle, Malia, Sasha, and I will join our fellow Christians around the world in celebrating the Resurrection of Christ, the salvation he offered the world, and the hope that comes with the Easter season. These holy days have their roots in miracles that took place long ago. And yet, they still inspire us, guide us, and strengthen us today. They remind us of our

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Thursday that a family of dissident ranchers and their supporters in his home state of Nevada are ´domestic terrorists,´ citing this week´s standoff with the federal government´s Bureau of Land Management. Cliven Bundy has refused to pay grazing fees for land where his hundreds of cattle roam every day. The land is owned by the federal government, which says he owes more than $1 million. Bundy, however, insists that since his family has been using the land since the 1870s, Uncle Sam can´t collect the grazing fees. A tense standoff developed this week after

Imagine a vendor on the National Mall, selling burgers and dogs, who hasn’t paid his rent in 20 years. He refuses to recognize his landlord, the National Park Service, as a legitimate authority. Every court has ruled against him, and fines have piled up. What’s more, the effluents from his food cart are having a detrimental effect on the spring grass in the capital. Would an armed posse come to his defense, aiming their guns at the park police? Would the lawbreaker get prime airtime on Fox News, breathless updates in the Drudge Report, a sympathetic ear from Tea Party Republicans?
