Anybody wanting to lampoon the Obama presidency is out of luck — there is no way to top the real thing. From being outmaneuvered by Russia to erasing red lines in Syria and getting snubbed by Iran, September was the cruelest month. That’s only half the bad news. For as small as the president looked abroad, he looked downright childish at home.He is following his failure to negotiate successfully on the world stage with a refusal to negotiate at all at home. His message to Republicans on both the debt ceiling and ObamaCare is the same: nyet, nyet. Call him confused about
Sorry to say but childish is winning: The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Sunday shows that 51% of Likely U.S. Voters approve of President Obama´s job performance. Forty-eight percent (48%) disapprove. This is the president’s HIGHEST overall approval rating since early June.
"The ObamaCare mess is especially telling. Most Americans still don’t want it and although there are obvious problems with key elements, Obama refuses to consider legislative changes."
As far as I know, the ignorant masses have no clue what it is. Long story short, it looks as complicated as Medicare. Part A is free but not really after the deductible and then you still have to buy Part B. But even then you still need to buy a Supplemental to cover the holes. At that point it´s back to the classroom. If a farmer has a dozen apples and sells 1/3 of them and then buys 1/5 of them back... In the end you say screw it and buy Plan F.
The truth is that if you qualify for Medicaid today you´re going to love it. If not, you will pay for it dearly. After all, reparations are not free.
We all know what he is; it isn´t pretty. I´d much rather talk about how we can screw the most hated member of congress- dingy harry. For once, it looks like our side is fighting back. Stick it to the little twerp all but good.
Do you suppose it´s because HE is so mentally and morally challenged? He isn´t any less sick than those people who shoot up schools, naval facilities and push people in front of trains. He indulges in the same type of violence as they do, only on a much, much larger scale. He kills people with missiles, bombs and super stupidity.
If he had served in the military or even the Indonesian Boy Scouts, perhaps he would value life somewhat. He is just Adolph Hitler with Tele-prompters.
There is only one difference between "trying to run the country" and "trying to ruin the country" and that is I, which is what Obama is all about. I, me, myself, me, me, me is the whole show and hating this country and ruining it is so intertwined. You can´t unscramble eggs. If you do listen to Rafael Cruz´s speech and see the patterns of dictators as he experienced in Cuba,it is clear what we have. First make big promises (Castro ran with hope and change!), engender hatred and envy for anyone who has more, collapse the system and make everyone equal. By then we will all be disarmed and so poorly educated that just taking the rice cookers or whatever scrap they give us, is enough to satisfy. This is what has become of a nation built by heroes and destroyed by lazy, malcontents who want the govt in charge of everything. And, it will be, but then it will be too late to change.
Today is my day for saying I think we have lost this war and the days of greatness for our beloved country are over.
I love Michael Goodwin. But, he enthusiastically voted for Obama in 2008.And Obama has been such a disaster that I can no longer just say, people like Goodwin made a mistake. Goodwin has repented on many occasions, but the fact remains that our country has been transformed for the worse because of Goodwin´s vote and people like him. 2012 was just the icing on the cake.
Pope Francis no longer feels it is necessary for the Catholic Church to talk about the evils of abortion and the positives of traditional marriage. We all know the Church´s position so let´s move on to the only thing that matters and that is social justice.
So, this morning, my priest in East Hampton NY excoriated the Republican led House of Representatives because they had the temerity to reduce the Food Stamp Program by $40 billion. His sermon was basically how bad they are and pretty much anyone that would agree with them is pretty bad too. I got up and walked out.
So, now my country is gone and my church is gone. It has been just a lovely day.
Obama is just a know-nothing jerk who thinks that a little bullying here and a little appeasement there passes for leadership. He is dead wrong and one day soon it´s going to hit him full in the face. Real Americans outnumber this immature thug-wannabe and his band of gay caballeros. We will take this government back, however long it takes. Never again will we put up with this kind of leadership in the greatest country in the world, even if we have to take the vote away from the parasite class to do it.
It’s time now to take a good hard look at Dr Paul Fick’s new book, THE DESTRUCTIVE PRESIDENT, that brilliantly describes the unfinished psychological problems of the odd man currently in the White House. This inwardly raging person is beginning to lose his outward, teleprompter cool. Time to have a look from the forensic psychologist who wrote the earlier bestselling analysis of the lying sexual predator, Bill Clinton, in his book titled, THE DYSFUNCTIONAL PRESIDENT. Early on, Dr Fick toured talk radio for several years describing Clinton’s problems, predicting they would eventually interfere with his presidency. Then, BOOM, Monica Lewinsky came out from under Clinton’s desk, and the DYSFUNCTIONAL PRESIDENT went into repeat printing. Dr Fick’s professional observations of Obama are fascinating and insightful . Go to www.destructivepresident.com and read a few revealing pages by the author. Exciting stuff in these times of presidential chaos.
Earlier this week, Onyango "Omar" Obama, uncle to Barack, said in a deportation hearing that he stayed with his nephew in Cambridge in the 1980s. The White House had to that point said that the president had never actually met Omar, who was arrested for drunk driving in 2011. Now, two years after the arrest brought denials of any sort of relationship from the White House, the president is admitting that, yes, he briefly lived with his uncle Omar before heading to Harvard Law School in the ´80s. "The president first met Omar Obama when he moved to Cambridge for law
Technicians in the Washington area raced up to a month-end deadline set by the Obama administration to make the troubled federal insurance website work for a majority of users, but officials acknowledged they still faced a raft of problems that could take weeks or more to fix. By Saturday evening, technicians completed a major hardware upgrade, adding computing, storage and database capacity to their data center, said one person familiar with the situation. "There was a big install and it worked," the person said. Contractors believe the upgrades will improve the system´s performance and let it handle more visitors, but the person
The once-sleepy town of Williston sits on the confluence of the Yellowstone and Missouri rivers in the US state of North Dakota. Five years ago, Williston had a population of 12,000 and was slowly dying on its feet – an agricultural hub marked out from the plains only by the grain silos that stand silhouetted against the big North Dakota skies. The fall-out from a brief oil boom in the mid-1980s had left the town with sky-high debts and a main street filled with empty shops and peeling facades. Young people looking for jobs skipped town at the first opportunity. Today, Williston is
The CIA used a secret base at Guantanamo Bay nicknamed ´Penny Lane´ to turn some of al-Qaeda´s most dangerous terrorists into double agents, US officials have admitted.Inmates languishing under Guantanamo Bay´s harsh regime were offered cash rewards, "hotel" style rooms and even pornography if they agreed to help the CIA track down and kill fellow al-Qaeda operatives. Instead of Guantanamo´s spartan cells, they would be transferred to cottages equipped with private kitchens, showers and televisions, as well as their own patio. A handful then signed agreements to work for the CIA, under which they were released and told to hook up once
DALLAS - A winter storm system blamed for at least 10 fatal accidents in the West and Texas threatens to dampen the Thanksgiving holiday for millions of Americans traveling this week.Nearly 300 American Airlines and American Eagle flights were canceled in and out of Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport on Monday due to the weather, spokeswoman Laura Masvidal said, mirroring disruptions at the air hub a day earlier. Some of the country´s busiest airports - New York, Washington D.C., Philadelphia, Boston and Charlotte, N.C. - could see big delays. Icy roads led to hundreds of accidents and at least 10 deaths, half
As he climbed the political heap, a young Barack Obama roused audiences with promises to unite the nation. He was a Senate candidate in 2004 when he told the Democratic national convention, “There is not a liberal America and a conservative America. There is a United States of America.” In 2007, he declared early in his presidential run that “I don’t want to pit red America against blue America. I want to be the president of the United States of America.” A year later, after he won the Iowa caucus, he promised, “We are not a collection of red states and blue
Remember President Barack Obama´s mother? Though the airwaves currently echo with his vow "If you like your plan . . ." I keep remembering Obama´s account of his mother being denied coverage by her insurance company as she lay dying of cancer. The moving and infuriating story was a staple on the 2008 campaign trail. His mother had insurance, he explained, but when she came down with cancer, her insurance company claimed her disease was a "pre-existing condition" and refused to pay for her treatment. In a debate with Sen. John McCain, Obama said: "For my mother to die of cancer
Lawmakers began reacting late Saturday to news of an historic agreement that freezes key parts of Iran´s nuclear program. Here are excerpts from statements responding to the deal: House Majority Leader Eric I. Cantor (R-Va.):"While I await specific details of the interim agreement, I remain concerned that this deal does not adequately halt Iran´s enrichment capabilities. Numerous U.N. Security Council resolutions have called for the full suspension of Iran´s nuclear activities, so it is troubling that this agreement still permits the Iranians to continue enriching. It is critical that distrust but verify be the guiding principle with which we approach
WASHINGTON — On a sultry day in late August, a dozen staff members of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services gathered at the agency’s Baltimore headquarters with managers from the major contractors building HealthCare.gov to review numerous problems with President’s Obama’s online health insurance initiative. The mood was grim. Henry Chao, a 19-year Medicare agency veteran with no formal background in software engineering, was eventually left with day-to-day management of the president’s signature initiative.
At 9 a.m. on Aug. 22, a team of federal health officials sat down in a Baltimore conference room with at least a dozen employees of CGI Federal, the company with the main contract to build the online federal health insurance marketplace. For six weeks, the federal officials overseeing the project had become increasingly worried that CGI was missing deadlines, understaffing the work and overstating its progress. As the meeting began, one of the officials reminded the CGI employees that HealthCare.gov was “the president’s number one priority,” assured them that the discussion would be a “blame-free zone,” and then bored in.
Fear swept through Borough Park, Brooklyn, as soon as the news got out: A young man was randomly assaulted by strangers early Friday morning, and the attack was possibly part of the so-called Knockout Game. Four men were arrested, but on Friday night only one was charged and the others were released. The attack added to a growing log of reports of such crimes in the Northeast and beyond. Young assailants were randomly picking unlucky targets and trying to knock them out with just one punch. Yet police officials in several cities where such attacks have been reported said that the “game” amounted
The extremely peculiar rules governing the United States Senate just got a little less peculiar. After a historic vote yesterday, it will now take 51 votes — a simple majority — for most presidential nominations to be approved by the 100-member Senate. One senator responded with outrage to the idea. The American people, he roared, “don’t expect .?.?. for one party — be it Republican or Democrat — to change the rules in the middle of the game.” His name is Barack Obama. Sen. Obama spoke those words in 2005 about a Republican proposal to do something very much like
I have never been much of a conspiracy theorist. For me it was always Oswald by himself from the Texas School Book Depository and nothing in the intervening fifty years has disabused me of this notion. For the most part, I’m an Occam’s Razor kind of guy — the most obvious explanation is likely to be true. (Snip) To put it bluntly, Occam’s Razor has moved. Things that were once possibilities now seem almost certainties to me. Principal among those is that Obama’s academic records are perpetually unavailable for a reason — and that reason is most likely that they reveal
One of President Obama´s chief political assets has been his ability to excite young people like almost no politician in history. But the days of America´s youth fawning over the president are over. A new Harvard University Institute of Politics poll released Wednesday confirms what other surveys have shown in recent months: Millennials have soured on Obama so much this year that their opinion of him largely mirrors the American public´s. Even though Obama does not ever have to face another election, he should be worried about the findings for a couple of reasons, which we will dive into momentarily.
Good stuff from Jonathan Turley at today’s House hearing on executive power, although I regret that I couldn’t find a more user-friendly format for you to watch. There’s no compilation clip; you’ll have to make do with the C-SPAN embed by fast-forwarding to the time cues I give you and being patient while the vid buffers (and buffers, and buffers).(Snip)That brings us to point two: Even if Congress can’t stop Obama, the courts can. The problem there, though, says Turley, is that O and the DOJ have argued successfully in many cases that no one has standing to sue him
A stunning new study unveiled on Fox News´ Hannity finds that President Barack Obama’s White House calendar records just one face-to-face meeting between Obama and his Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Kathleen Sebelius in the more than three-and-a-half years leading up to the disastrous Obamacare launch. The startling statistic comes from a new Government Accountability Institute (GAI) analysis of Obama’s own official White House calendar, as well as the Politico presidential calendar, and raises new questions about Obama’s executive leadership and management throughout the implementation of his singular legislative achievement. More alarming still, the president’s schedule lists 277 private
[Video] President Obama on Wednesday declared that addressing income inequality would be the focus of “all” of the White House’s efforts “for the rest of my presidency.” In a sweeping address that touched on raising the minimum wage, investing in infrastructure and ending tax breaks for the wealthy, Obama warned that the American economy has become “profoundly unequal,” declaring economic mobility the “challenge of our time.” “The combined trends of increasing inequality and decreasing mobility pose a fundamental threat to the American dream, our way of life, and what we stand for around the globe,” he said in an hour-long
Just over two weeks ago, MSNBC host Martin Bashir delivered a harsh piece of commentary that culminated in the suggestion that someone should “s-h-i-t” in former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin‘s (R-AK) mouth. Bashir offered an abject apology on his next broadcast, but a chorus of critics continued to demand action against the host. After a reported “vacation” for the host earlier this week, Bashir announced, Wednesday afternoon, that MSNBC and Martin Bashir are parting ways. Here’s the statement from Martin Bashir, via email: After making an on-air apology, I asked for permission to take some additional time out around the Thanksgiving holiday. Upon
Nineteen people stood behind President Obama on stage in the Executive Office Building Tuesday as the president kicked off a new campaign to promote Obamacare. One of those people, a young Florida woman named Monica Weeks, introduced Obama after telling the story of being struck with Crohn´s Disease at age 19 and receiving expensive treatments for several years that were covered by her parents´ health care plan — because Obamacare allowed her to remain on that plan until age 26. Now, Weeks said, she has coverage through a job. "The Affordable Care Act gives young adults who are just starting
Amid an array of “knock-out” attacks against a number of Jews in Brooklyn’s Crown Heights neighborhood, a city councilwoman pointed to the success of the Jewish community as triggering the aggression. Councilwoman-elect Laurie Cumbo emphasized that while she “admire[s] the Jewish community immensely” for its work ethic, black teens may see it differently. “While I personally regard this level of tenacity, I also recognize that for others, the accomplishments of the Jewish community triggers feelings of resentment, and a sense that Jewish success is not also their success,” Cumbo, who was recently elected, wrote in a letter. Chief among the issues
Continued global warming poses a risk of rapid, drastic changes in some human and natural systems, a scientific panel warned Tuesday, citing the possible collapse of polar sea ice, the potential for a mass extinction of plant and animal life and the threat of immense dead zones in the ocean. At the same time, some worst-case fears about climate change that have entered the popular imagination can be ruled out as unlikely, at least over the next century, the panel found. These include a sudden belch of methane from the ocean or the Arctic that would fry the planet, as
America is facing a wave of strikes by its fast-food workers on Thursday a day after Barack Obama warned that inequality in the USA had soared to the point that it now posed "a fundamental threat to the American dream". Low-paid workers in McDonalds, Kentucky Fried Chicken and other fast-food outlets in 100 cities across America were due to start rolling strikes to protest at the low level of America´s $7.25 (£4.45) federal minimum wage. The strikes are the latest part of a mushrooming publicity campaign for higher wages among those working so-called "McJobs", with fast-food restaurants seen as a
The world premiere of the “Ballad for Trayvon Martin for Orchestra and Jazz Quartet” is set for tonight. Princeton University’s director of its jazz-studies program composed the work in honor of the Florida teen. Anthony D. J. Branker told the Star-Ledger that the piece is intended to “be a form of healing” after Martin’s death and the controversial court case that followed it. The ballad, which will be performed by the university’s official orchestra and jazz ensemble, is intended to be a tribute to victims of racial violence, Branker explained. He hopes that the performance will be “one that speaks to
The president put in his ask to Disney CEO Bob Iger at a private meeting with entertainment moguls during his Nov. 26 visit to Jeffrey Katzenberg´s DreamWorks Animation. [snip] If you have any doubt as to how much of a sports junkie Barack Obama is, check in with the entertainment moguls who attended a private briefing with the president Nov. 26 before his speech at Jeffrey Katzenberg´s DreamWorks Animation campus in Glendale. At the end of the conversation -- which touched on a myriad of topics, from piracy to Iran -- Obama revealed what´s at the top of his bucket
