Former vice president Al Gore on Monday called for making climate change "denial" a taboo in society. “Within the market system we have to put a price on carbon, and within the political system, we have to put a price on denial,” Gore said at the Social Good Summit New York City. “It is simply not acceptable for major companies to mimic the unethical strategy of the tobacco companies in presenting blatantly false information in order to protect a business model,” Gore added, alleging that’s what some oil and coal companies are doing. “There needs to be a political price for denial.”
The price for unscientific, politically funded lying, leading to ruinous public policy, crony "capitalism"--actually socialism--and the obscene enrichment of science twisting political operatives like Al Gore should be complete disgorgement of IGG (ill-gotten gains) and life in prison for being the most misanthropic political figure in the Free World. Considering the cynical warping of public policy designed to impoversih everyone in the First and Second Worlds (enriching Gore and his fellow Luddites), and the attempt to keep everyone in the Third World from from cheap energy and access to a modern lifestyle, hanging would not be uncalled for.
Now, be fair to Al. His lifestyle depends upon the myth of climate change. But seriously, I do believe, fifth rate idiots like Gore, who have a platform in this country, really presage our demise. He is an idiot. His cause is idiotic. He has the hubris to MAKE MONEY from his cause. He is not a serious person in any way - can he ride a horse? I doubt it, and what a scene that would be. The problem isn´t Gore, per se, it´s actually the people who take him seriously.
There needs to be non-pardonable capital punishment for those like Al Gore who have lied to the world for this farce. Hang him and those like him for their crimes against humanity. Publicly and on worldwide television. Enough of this crap.
Have another hamburger Wimpy.."cowardly, very lazy, overly parsimonious and utterly gluttonous. He is also something of a scam artist and, especially in the newspaper strip, can be notoriously underhanded at times."(Wikipedia). I don´t quote that source, as a rule, but it does describe the cartoonish character of Al to a T
Obamacare is on the brink of breaking the economy, people are being killed in a mall in Kenya because they are not Muslim, the national debt is unmanageable, people are out of work and there´s no light at the end of the tunnel....
And Al Gore is still talking global warming.
He´s not even a one-trick pony - he´s a worthless menace.
lying HIPPO-Crit...yeah,I know how you really spell it...his family $$$$ came from tobacco and oil...........I, also. hope he falls into a volcano!!!!!however, with his girth..he might displace too much lava...
Uh, no, Al. There needs to be a CRIMINAL price for lying, misrepresenting the facts, taking money under false pretenses, playing fast and loose with others´ livelihoods and lives, peddling influence at the highest levels and pretending to know something that you know nothing about.
Must be nice to be a liberal Democrat and never having to say, "I´m guilty."
Yes, for denying the socialist agenda behind all the false "global warming" data, Al Gore should pay a steep price. A prison term for fraud would be a good start. Returning his Nobel Peace Prize. Apologizing to George W. Bush and the American people for attempting to steal the 2000 election with phony, corrupt recounts in Florida. Spending every last penny in his prodigious bank accounts on "carbon credits". Then Gore could be sentenced to live out his remaining days in the freezing arctic with flocks of polar bears and baby seals.
Science is the search for truth. The diametric opposite of everything a Democrat stands for.
Nothing good can come of bringing an iPhone to a memorial service. That’s the consensus of etiquette experts who said Wednesday that President Barack Obama’s selfie at Nelson Mandela’s memorial was no time for a picture-perfect moment, but differed over whether it amounted to a serious protocol violation. “I don’t think this was the best time and place, but I also don’t think it was a horrible error in judgment,” Lizzie Post, co-author of Emily Post’s Etiquette, told POLITICO. During Tuesday’s service in Johannesburg, a wire service photo of Obama posing alongside British Prime Minister David Cameron and Danish Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt
RUSH: John Podesta again has been brought in by Obama to fix this mess, the mess being Obama´s plummeting approval numbers. Now, there is nothing that Podesta can do to repair the damage that´s been done in terms of Obama´s honesty, the perception of his trustworthiness, there´s nothing he can do. So what do liberals do in this case? Now, there´s a truism, folks, gosh, I wish everybody understood this. Liberalism is, no matter what you think, still the minority viewpoint in this country. Among informed people, it is the minority viewpoint. There are a lot of people that vote Democrat and support liberals that have no idea
The conservative Republican Study Committee, the bastion of right-wing strategy on Capitol Hill, has fired its longtime executive director Paul Teller, accusing him of leaking conversations with lawmakers. Rep. Steve Scalise (R-La.), the chairman of the RSC, asked for his resignation, according to a senior Republican aide. Scalise announced the move at a Wednesday RSC meeting on Capitol Hill, a lawmaker present told Politico. “Paul was divulging private, member level conversations and actively working against strategies developed by RSC members,” said the senior GOP aide familiar with the group.
We’ve been hearing a lot lately about how Republicans need to improve their appeal to women, especially unmarried ones. Commentators offer various advice; a longtime Republican strategist says “GOP congressional leaders should unveil a comprehensive women’s agenda” and “legislation that has a positive [message] that will help female voters in an attempt to soften their image.” The RNC’s much-hyped Growth and Opportunity Project cautions that: Republicans need to talk about people and families, not just numbers and statistics. . . . Women need to hear what our motive is . . . Those are things that cannot be
RUSH: I´m looking at the latest Obama polling data. Folks, there´s a crack in the dike, and I don´t think there´s anything to fix it. A hole in the dike, a crack in the dike, or something. It is bad. And I don´t think that there´s anything they can do about it. They brought in John Podesta, they brought him in from his think tank that George Soros buys, Clinton´s former chief of staff, and all Podesta is is a hack. Podesta is a tactician, and he comes up with strategies and tactics to hopefully destroy conservatives and Republicans. That's not gonna save Obama. The conservatives and Republicans don't have anything to do with this.
RUSH: I had a number of e-mails from people who thought that I dropped the ball yesterday because I didn´t mention the upcoming budget deal. People thought... The Stick-to-the-Issues Crowd thought that I had dropped the ball. I was spending too much time on jocularity and frivolous, fun things, when the Republicans were about to give away the bank in budget negotiations with Patty Murray and the Democrats. I didn´t drop the ball; I just didn´t discuss it for a very simple reason: There´s nothing I could have done. There´s nothing I could have said on the radio yesterday. There's no interview I could've conducted that was going to
RUSH: Are you aware of the controversy over that selfie Obama took of himself and the prime minister of Denmark and David Cameron? And there´s more than one photo. I mean, this guy, folks, we gotta be up front here. There is no question Obama was enjoying whatever was going on between the two of them. He took a selfie in the middle of the ceremony honoring Nelson Mandela, and in all of the pictures Michelle is not looking pleased, not involved, not engaged, not looking happy. In fact, in the series of photos that have been taken, Obama gets up to leave to go make his speech, and when he comes back, Michelle has taken his seat
The last time a divided U.S. Congress passed a budget deal, President Ronald Reagan was denying he traded arms for Iranian hostages and the Space Shuttle Challenger explosion was fresh in Americans´ minds. But a House Republican and a Democratic senator hope they´ve found a compromise that federal legislators can live with. Washington state Democrat Patty Murray and Wisconsin Republican Paul Ryan announced a proposal late on Tuesday that Ryan said focuses ´on where the common ground is´ between America´s two political parties, a deal that would balance the federal budget ten years from now and sidestep the threat of government
Junk Science: Researchers have discovered a chain of smoldering active volcanoes under the West Antarctic ice sheet — which happens to be the ice sheet that climate hysterics say is proof of man-caused global warming. The 2004 science fiction movie "The Day After Tomorrow" — and the operative word here is "fiction" — opened with a portion of the West Antarctic ice sheet shearing off as a prelude to planetary doom. But if the researchers depicted in the film had looked deep into the widening crevice, they might have noticed a string of active volcanoes lurking under nearly a mile of Antarctic
Nuclear Option: The first spoil of Harry Reid´s shredding of the Senate´s historic filibuster rules has been confirmed to the D.C. Circuit. Patricia Millett is another radical activist masquerading as judge. As chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee in 1990, now-Vice President Joseph Biden threw a fit after it was clear David Souter was going to be confirmed to the Supreme Court, warning the first Bush administration that no more "stealth" nominees would be getting through. Liberals threw an even bigger fit the next year when Clarence Thomas told Biden´s committee he had no "personal opinion on the outcome in Roe v.
Income Gap: As President Obama laments America´s growing income inequality, a new government report shows the futility of his calls for ever-more wealth redistribution. To deflect attention from ObamaCare´s failures, the president this month trotted out his income inequality chestnut. "A dangerous and growing inequality," he intoned, "has jeopardized middle-class America´s basic bargain." He argued, "as a trickle-down ideology became more prominent, taxes were slashed for the wealthiest, while investments in things that make us all richer, like schools and infrastructure, were allowed to wither." Apparently, nobody bothered to brief the president before he delivered this speech. Fact is, federal transportation spending has
RUSH: Lakeside, California. Hi, Chris. Great to have you on the program. Hello. CALLER: Good morning. Mega dittos, Rush. RUSH: Thank you. Thanks very much. CALLER: Hey, I´m extremely concerned about what´s going on, and I just think people are still in major denial here about what´s going on. My husband and I recent -- RUSH: With what? CALLER: Well, with Obamacare and what really is the purpose of it. We went up to the Reagan library, which I´d never been up before, and I actually got rejuvenated by reading all his wonderful quotes and his positive and his love for his country and all
When I was a kid, I knew two different Santa Clauses. The first had a fat belly, rosy cheeks, a long white beard, and skin as pink as bubble gum. He was omnipresent, visiting my pre-school and the local mall, visible in all of my favorite Christmas specials. Then there was the Santa in my family’s household, in the form of ornaments, cards, and holiday figurines. A near-carbon copy of the first one—big belly, rosy cheeks, long white beard: check, check, check. But his skin was as dark as mine. Seeing two different Santas was bewildering. Eventually I asked my father what
US President Barack Obama may have moved the masses attending Nelson Mandela’s memorial service with his stirring eulogy, but it was his grinning "selfie" with the Danish and British premiers that set social networks abuzz. In a candid moment captured by a photographer, Denmark’s Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt can be seen holding up her smartphone, with Obama lending a helping hand, as they pose for a picture with David Cameron, all three of them smiling broadly in their seats at Soweto’s World Cup stadium.(Snip)Mashable, the news and technology website, ran the photograph under the headline: ‘‘Dear Obama: Funerals are no place
On his way to the podium at the memorial ceremony for former South African president Nelson Mandela, President Obama walked down the line of dignitaries, greeting other leaders there to pay their respects. Among the hands shaken: that of Cuban leader Raul Castro. Obama neither made a special effort to shake Castro’s hand nor to avoid him. A snub might have been awkward: In his speech, Obama praised Mandela’s “greatest gift” as “his recognition that we are all bound together in ways that can be invisible to the eye; that there is a oneness to humanity; that we achieve ourselves by
The Obama State Department has finally released a second round of photos revealing the harrowing devastation wrought by a terrorist attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi on Sept. 11, 2012. The new photographs depict rampant damage to the consulate. They show charred walls, smoldering fires, Arabic graffiti defacing exterior walls, and scattered debris throughout. The extent of the damage would lead any reasonably serious person to conclude that this was a cold, calculated attack, carefully coordinated to mark the 11th anniversary of Sept. 11, 2001. Unfortunately for the American people, the Obama-Clinton-Rice cabal that led to the Benghazi cover-up was
Johannesburg - A man who provided sign language interpretation on stage for Nelson Mandela´s memorial service, attended by scores of heads of state, was a "fake," the national director of the Deaf Federation of South Africa said on Tuesday. Asked about the claim by The Associated Press, South Africa´s government said it was preparing a statement. Three sign language experts said the man was not signing in South African or American sign languages. South African sign language covers all of the country´s 11 official languages, according to the federation. It wasn´t immediately clear if the unidentified man was using a
A black fashion student says he was brutally attacked by a gang of Hasidic men who shouted anti-gay slurs at him while he was walking through Williamsburg after a night of partying, the Daily News has learned. Taj Patterson, 22, was headed home to Fort Greene around 4:30 a.m. on Dec. 1 when he says more than a dozen ultra-Orthodox Jewish men began assaulting him on Flushing Ave. and yelling, “Stay down, f----t!”
House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) snapped at conservative groups that have come out in opposition to the budget deal reached Wednesday between Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) and Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.). "They´re using the American people for their own purposes. This is ridiculous," Boehner said at a press conference with other members of House Republican leadership on Wednesday. Over the past few days, a number of conservative groups have blasted the deal because it sets discretionary spending levels in the budget higher than previous levels under sequestration. In the past three days, the influential Heritage Action, Club for Growth, Americans
A “presidential selfie” featuring President Barack Obama, British Prime Minister David Cameron, and Denmark’s Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt at Nelson Mandela’s memorial service began making the rounds this morning, but it’s the person not included in the frame who caught everyone’s attention: As anyone with two eyes and a Twitter account has noticed, Michelle Obama does not appear amused. Of course, though a picture says a thousand words, not all of those words are necessarily true. FLOTUS might not have even known the photo was taking place. Or she could disapprove of funeral selfies. Either way.
Looks like this president can’t get away with flirting in front of his wife… It appears that first lady Michelle Obama was none too pleased with the way that President Barack Obama was acting toward Denmark Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt during a ceremony honoring Nelson Mandela, and before too long, they switched seats. This lmao! Michelle Obama vs Prime Minister of Denmark at Mandela´s ceremony. pic.twitter.com/Rq4uF9fTaZ — Stun (@TheBlogPirate) December 10, 2013
Barack Obama has arrived in South Africa to lead the American delegation at a memorial service for former South African President Nelson Mandela in Johannesburg. But his party is reportedly stuck in traffic and he is said to have arrived late at the stadium for the ceremony. [Snip] But Mr Clinton, Mr Carter and his wife Rosalynn have all traveled separately to the event. According to reports, Mr Obama and his delegation are stuck in a lines of traffic caused by tens of thousands of people making their way to the event. Mr Obama is among the foreign leaders who
President Obama’s job approval among American voters has dropped to negative territory with just 38 percent voicing their approval versus the 58 who says they disapprove, according to a national poll released Tuesday by the independent Quinnipiac University. That is one percent less than the 39% who said they approved of him in last month’s poll. The majority of the 2,692 registered voters the University in early December said that the president is not honest and trustworthy. When asked, “Do you approve or disapprove of the way Barack Obama is handling his job as President?,” respondents gave Obama lackluster ratings
The sign language interpreter at Nelson Mandela´s memorial yesterday "made up his own signs," according to South Africa´s deaf federation. "He´s a complete fraud," Cara Loening, director of Sign Language Education and Development in Cape Town, said according to ITV News. "He wasn´t even doing anything, There was not one sign there. Nothing. He was literally flapping his arms around." Delphin Hlungwane, an official South African sign language interpreter at DeafSA, told Reuters:
