WASHINGTON - The Internal Revenue Service says an official at the center of the agency´s tea party scandal is retiring. Lois Lerner headed the IRS division that handles applications for tax-exempt status when she was placed on paid leave in May. While she was in charge, the agency acknowledged that agents improperly targeted tea party groups for extra scrutiny when they applied for tax-exempt status from 2010 to 2012. Lerner first disclosed the targeting at a law conference in May, when she was asked a planted question about IRS treatment of political groups. Less than two weeks later, she refused

Great. So we´re still paying for her lying butt for the rest of her life. And they can say, "well she doesn´t work here anymore!" when you demand that she be punished appropriately.

She should be forced to sign on to Obamacare. That´ll be a deterrent for future fascists.

This should not be allowed, people in elected or assigned office, should be held to a higher degree of honesty and responsibility to the people. This woman needs to be grilled by people wanting answers and willing to do whatever it takes to get them. If she doesn´t think she has to answer to them, throw her sorry fanny in jail and let her rot..........without paid leave or retirement goodies. Pull her retirement and make her prove why she should get it back.

Sturmfuherer Lerner was pulling the same crap at the Fed. Election Commission during Little Willie"s tour. At the very least, her pension should be forfeited. I would prefer she be put away for her crimes and banned from ever holding any Federal job or having any contact with any Federal office holder in the future.

But,eh, she´s a loyal soldier of Der Party; she will be comfortably taken care of by our rulers for her "devoted public [sniff] service".

And specifically which medal was she given before retiring? Surely there must be at least one. And her pension, how is that being handled. Her ´paid vacation leave´ Is she responsible for refunding that tidy sum of money? And when she does leave, exactly what medical insurance plan will she be getting? The pig slop like the rest of us serfs or the gold edition such as those the rest of the lords and masters enjoy? Just a few of the questions awaiting Ms. Lerner.

Nearly six months after the disastrous launch of Healthcare.gov, with the website running smoothly and more than five million people signed up as open enrollment heads to a close, a new glitch has come to light: Incorrect poverty-level guidelines are automatically telling what could be tens of thousands of eligible people they do not qualify for subsidized insurance. The error in the federal marketplace primarily affects households with incomes just above the poverty line in states like Pennsylvania that have not expanded Medicaid. The mistake raises the price of their insurance by thousands of dollars, making insurance so unaffordable many

Although the Civil Rights Act, the landmark legislation which just reached its 50th anniversary, made great strides in desegregating the economy, economic discrimination is still widespread, and anti-discrimination legislation alone can never rectify the economic damage inflicted upon blacks by slavery and our Jim Crow apartheid regime. The Civil Rights Act was a mild reform, all things considered, but one conservatives fought with vigor and one many conservatives are still bitter about to this day.
