Obama: Republicans ‘trying to mess with me’
Washington Post, by Juliet Eilperin & Phil Rucker

Original Article

Posted By:Drive, 9/20/2013 2:52:41 PM

Speaking at a Ford Motor Co. plant in Missouri Friday, President Obama accused congressional Republicans of "trying to mess with me" by derailing basic government operations. The sharply-personal remarks--made during a speech in which the president outlined his economic vision--came just hours after the House passed a continuing resolution on a largely party-line vote that would keep the government running while simultaneously defunding the Affordable Care Act. Because the Senate is expected to strip out the defunding plan when it considers the measure, the House action raises the prospect of a possible government shutdown at the end of the month.

What part about checks and balances doesn´t this "genius" get?

This really is his lack of leadership skills in full display for all to witness. So his response? Blame others - the only call in his playbook.

Solution for two problems: Mandatory drug test before Obama is allowed to board AF1. If he fails drug test, and he will, AF1 not allowed to fly. This testing will keep him from wasting hundreds of millions in taxpayer money on ridiculous trips and prevent him from appearing in front of crowds in a drug induced state.

Oblahblah "...outlined his economic vision..."? He does indeed have one, but it´s nothing he wants us to see.

Picture a cold, threadbare clot of citizens standing on a windswept corner, waiting for the Petrograd trolleybus. A block long black limo roars by taking its precious cargo, a highly placedbureaucrat, to her newly refurbished corner office. Those on the corner are drenched with cold, filthy water standing by the blocked drain. So what! Who th hell are they?

His narcissism and astonishing ignorance of the American system of government are perfectly expressed in the memorable line, "The Republicans are trying to mess with me."

This seems to come as a surprise to him and to be experienced as some kind of aberration, some deviation from the norm - indeed, a moral offense. What business do his political opponents have "trying to mess" with him? How dare they disagree and try to interfere with his political agenda?

Off the cuff remarks like this give us a momentary glimpse of the real man, the man behind the mask. It is not a pretty sight. It is, in fact, sometimes terrifying. This is a man whose grandiosity verges on and at times seems actually to cross over into insanity. He does not seem to be capable of comprehending the simple and well-known fact of political disagreement. He is a determined enemy of the American system of government and of traditional American values.

One rainy morning this month, the man who thought he would be president boarded a train near his beach house in San Diego. Looking and sounding like a president out of central casting, he nailed his lines. ROME - Pope Francis washed the feet of 12 disabled and elderly people Thursday - women and non-Catholics among them - in a pre-Easter ritual designed to show his willingness to serve others like a "slave." Francis´ decision in 2013 to perform the Holy Thursday ritual on women and Muslim inmates at a juvenile detention center helped define his rule-breaking papacy just two weeks after his election. It riled traditionalist Catholics, who pointed to the Vatican´s own regulations that the ritual be performed only on men since Jesus´ 12 apostles were men.

In Detroit´s unfolding saga, the only innocent victims are city residents. So if there is any case for a Motown bailout, it is to make the city more livable for them. However, that seems to be the main goal of neither the Democratic White House nor the state´s Republican governor -- both of whom have come up with nifty new schemes to shovel taxpayer largesse to city retirees. Just two weeks ago, Emergency Manager Kevyn Orr had been threatening to put a buzzsaw to the city´s $3.5 billion unfunded pension liabilities to lop off savings to “invest” in city services. Most voters think the White House is trying to cover-up what happened in Benghazi and want Congress to continue to investigate the administration’s handling of the attack on the U.S. consulate there that killed four Americans. That’s according to a Fox News poll released Thursday. Sixty percent of voters want lawmakers to keep investigating what happened in Benghazi. That’s down from 65 percent who felt that way in November, and a high of 73 percent in early June 2013.

Obama, the No. 2 House leader said yesterday after a phone conversation with the president, should “stop his partisan messaging and begin to seriously work with Congress.” Hours before the president called Cantor, the White House had issued a statement in which Obama ripped House Republicans for favoring “extreme measures” and “seemingly preferring the status quo of a broken immigration system over meaningful reform.” “You’re always

The Wall Street Journal reports that a red fox has been causing chaos around the White House, tripping security alarms, digging up Michelle’s garden and distracting the president from his duties. The Secret Service won’t give any details about how often the fox trips the White House’s obviously sophisticated security alarms, but rest assured, officials say, they’re watching. President Obama was apparently “stunned” to see the fox roaming freely down the oft-photographed White House colonnade, home to the world’s shortest, but most dramatic, outdoor strolls. The bushy-tailed visitor

To "honor the dignity and work of immigrants," Democratic House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi helps Bishop Marc Andrus wash the feet of two children Thursday at Saint John the Evangelist Episcopal Church in San Francisco. Pelosi also used the occasion to talk about passing HR15 - bipartisan immigration legislation that her office says would "reduce the deficit by nearly $1 trillion, secure our borders, unite our families, protect our workers and provide an earned pathway to citizenship." The Democratic leader´s ceremony coincides with Pope Francis´ similar ceremony in Rome to mark Holy Week.

Imagine a vendor on the National Mall, selling burgers and dogs, who hasn’t paid his rent in 20 years. He refuses to recognize his landlord, the National Park Service, as a legitimate authority. Every court has ruled against him, and fines have piled up. What’s more, the effluents from his food cart are having a detrimental effect on the spring grass in the capital. Would an armed posse come to his defense, aiming their guns at the park police? Would the lawbreaker get prime airtime on Fox News, breathless updates in the Drudge Report, a sympathetic ear from Tea Party Republicans?

First, the good news: We are close enough to the end of the Obama presidency for his crowd to talk about a presidential library. Now, the bad news: Obama´s retirement is still 1,008 days distant. Plenty of time though to round up the dough to build it somewhere. Figure they need Solyndra-style money, at least $500 million. The last two presidents – Bill Clinton and George W. Bush -- built their legacy edifices totally with private money. [Snip] However, Obama supporters have a different take. They think taxpayers should put up $100 million in public money for Obama´s library.

Less than 16 hours after Chelsea Clinton announced she was pregnant, a lot of major news outlets started staring into the crystal ball of Chelsea’s womb, wondering what this currently floating zygotic multicellular being meant for the prospects of Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign, which is also a floating, zygotic, multicellular being. Their answer: The immaculately conceived Clinton child could mean everything. And no, it’s not just the fact that having a grandchild could be personally fulfilling to Hillary and Bill (mazel tov, by the way), or that a cute baby would be a sweet cherry on top of Hillary’s already

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid on Friday stood by his statement regarding embattled Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy, saying on KSNV’s What’s Your Point?, “If anyone thinks by any figment of their imagination that what happened up there last week was just people rallying to somebody that was oppressed, 600 people came in armed. They had practiced. They had maneuvered.” Reid continued, “They knew what they were doing. They set up snipers in strategic locations with sniper rifles. They had assault weapons. They had automatic weapons. And they boasted about the fact that they put women and children, in fact one

Remember when Lois Lerner, in answering a planted question at an American Bar Association conference, admitted the IRS had targeted conservative groups but tried to pass it off as the work of rogue agents — “our line people in Cincinnati”? Today we know there were indeed federal agents involved. But they weren’t rogue, and they weren’t confined to IRS workers in Cincinnati. Thanks to a Freedom of Information request by Judicial Watch, we now have an e-mail Lerner sent to colleagues noting the Department of Justice was looking into criminal prosecutions of these tax-exempt groups. We know something else, too. These investigations
