Manchin: Obama is beating the

Daily Caller, by Michael Bastasch

West Virginia Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin exploded over the Obama administration’s anti-coal policies Tuesday. “We’re getting the living crap beaten out of us,” Manchin said during a Senate hearing with President Barack Obama’s nominee to be the country’s top energy regulator. “There has been nothing more beat up than coal.” Manchin voiced his frustrations with rules put forward by Obama’s Environmental Protection Agency which have made it more costly and difficult for coal plants and coal mines to operate. “They just beat the living daylights out of little West Virginia, but they sure like what we produce,” Manchin added. “We

I´m guessing there´s not as many "democrats" in WV these days making life even tougher for Manchin. Manchin should just switch parties leaving the Dem´s with one less senate vote -- tho´ that will never happen.

Ya, the nominee binz is from Colorado, a former red state that just imposed absurd green energy mandates on rural counties only. The bright blue Colorado urban corridor was excluded. So, the conservative, rural folks are being forced to subsidize inefficient green energy projects that liberals are heavily invested in. Banana republic style selective enforcement rules in the obama world.

He will not get a second term. The voters of WV are willing to accept an awful lot of crookedness from politicians, but they have little sympathy for ineptitude. Manchin allowed himself to be used by the big kids and wrote that bogus gun control scheme. He made himself and the whole state look like chumps. We will not forget or forgive.

Manchin is, in his heart-of-hearts, a liberal Democrat. However, he has to fake being a moderate so that he can play to the folks in West Virginia that he actually cares about coal. He will continue to do what he´s doing until he´s reelected again. He´ll rhetorically pretend to care about West Virginia´s economic future, but when in the chamber of the Senate, he will vote the way Harry Reid and Barack Obama want him to. Manchin is a man without a code.

With little fanfare, Vermont is preparing to become the first state to implement a single-payer, government-run health-care system. The Vermont plan, if implemented, would abolish private health insurance in the state and replace it with a taxpayer-funded system under which the state government directly pays doctors and hospitals. Of course the state is having a bit of trouble figuring out how to pay for the program’s estimated $2 billion price tag, considering that the entire state government’s operating budget is currently just $2.7 billion. Currently under consideration is an increase in the state sales tax from 6.9% to 29%. At
