Contract worker behind
Navy Yard shooting rampage

Associated Press, by ERIC TUCKER, BRETT ZONGKER *

Original Article

WASHINGTON - The deadly attack at the Washington Navy Yard was carried out by one of the military´s own: a defense contract employee and former Navy reservist who used a valid pass to get onto the installation and started firing inside a building, killing 12 people before he was slain in a gun battle with police. The motive for the mass shooting - the deadliest on a military installation in the U.S. since the tragedy at Fort Hood, Texas, in 2009 - was a mystery, investigators said. But a profile of the lone gunman, a 34-year-old Aaron Alexis, was coming into

A man who has a criminal record, who has anger issues because he´s a "victim of discrimination," who has been diagnosed as a paranoid schizophrenic can get a security clearance? We´ve said it often here: PC is going to kill us.

I agree with #3. Someone has some explaining to do as to how this ticking time bomb could be hired and gain a security clearance at a military facility. If I had his history, I could not get hired at McDonalds.

This article is quick to point out that the AR-15 is the same type of rifle that was used at Newtown and the Colorado movie theater.
It does not say that it was not the gun he came in with.
It does not tell you he obsessively watched violent video games of mass shootings.
It does not inform us of the ethnicity of the shooting victims, so we can be assured that this is not an extreme version of the knock out game.

Maybe I missed it in the article but I don´t see what level of clearance he had. I did hear on local Washingotn DC talk radio that he had a Secret clearance. Pretty common and no big thing. If he came clean to the investigators about the two incidents/arrests, any mental health issues and all his references were positive, no reason for them not to adjudicate in his favor. Biggest thing that will hurt you during a background check is lying; lying about an arrest, medical or mental health condition, etc. Besides, look at who has the ultimate in security clearance and he´s sitting in the White House.

Obama made a huge and stupid mistake when he inserted himself in the Travon Martin case commenting: "If I had a son he would look like Travon". It is a stunning inconsistency that does not now insert himself in this Aaron Alexis case by commenting "If I had a son he would look like Aaron (Alexis)" This poor excuse for a president does not think far ahead and his racial preferences are perfectly transparent.

After learning what I have this morning about the shooter, I have a different take: I think someone --or some entity, was running this guy.

Am I a conspiracy nut? I don´t know. I didn´t used to be, but I don´t believe the shooter did this on his own. Five or six years ago, you couldn´t have made me believe my government was capable of something like this. Today is an entirely different story considering who´s "In Charge."

The Left´s burning goal --right after socialized medicine [mission accomplished], is to disarm the citizenry of this nation.

The NAVSEA complex is one of the most secure buildings that the military has. This guy had his valid id and a secret clearance. Now I don´t know what the parameters are for getting one in the age of the Obamanation. All I know is that it was tougher to get a clearance when I was in the Navy back in the 90´s. My question is why we are still allowing our brave mena and women in the military to be unarmed while on base. What would the outcome have been if just one person had a gun. People need to stop and think and not have knee jerk reactions about "evil guns" and so-called gun control. But you know the dunderheaded liberals are going to come out of the wood work to blab about it again. Ala doofusses like Dianne Feinstein and Henry Winkler.

It declares that three days after Jesus died on the cross, he was resurrected, a glimmer of the eternal life promised to believers. It’s the heart of the Easter story in seven little words. But how that statement is interpreted is the source of some of the deepest rifts in Christianity — and a stumbling block for some Christians, and more than a few skeptics. Did Jesus literally come back from the dead in a bodily resurrection, as many traditionalist
