Lois Lerner´s Own Words
Wall Street Journal, by Editorial

Original Article

Congress´s investigation into the IRS targeting of conservatives has been continuing out of the Syria headlines, and it´s turning up some news. Specifically, emails we´ve seen between former Director of Exempt Organizations Lois Lerner and her staff raise doubts about IRS claims that the targeting wasn´t politically motivated and that low-level employees in Cincinnati masterminded the operation. In a February 2011 email, Ms. Lerner advised her staff—including then Exempt Organizations Technical Manager Michael Seto and then Rulings and Agreements director Holly Paz—that a Tea Party matter is "very dangerous," and is something "Counsel and [Lerner adviser] Judy Kindell need to be

I wonder what county Lerner thinks she´s living in? Perhaps she would be more comfortable in Russia or Cuba? Too bad we can´t deport all "progressives" to the communist country of their choice.

She belongs in prison, not sitting at home and getting paid for doing nothing. Just my opinion. She followed her bosses instructions and deprived individuals and groups of tax exempt status, thus impeding a fair election process. Furthermore, many paid taxes that should not have been due because of her coercion.

Those who fancy that they will be part of the ruling elite always promote the notion of a bigger (and better) government.

Listen up !!!

Sell your pizza parlor, your plumbing business, your poodle parlor and get a government job.

It´s the only business on the come.

Lerner is actually an outsider ~ she´s been a lawyer far removed from any agency operations for years and years.

Someone without common sense dropped her into the operating area of IRS. This woman is definitely incompetent.

Frankly, NO experienced bureaucrat would have gotten engaged in any of this nonsense she´s charged with.

You did catch the hearing where Mr. Hull turned on these people and destroyed them, right?

He´s been in operations for decades.

Here´s a novel idea: get rid of the IRS.

Tea Party groups need to stop applying for the "progressive" favor of tax exempt status. Those groups that have an application in should withdraw them.

If you don´t tell the IRS you exist, they can´t screw with you. If you´re high profile like a state group, just pay the damn taxes. Don´t play their games. Do not self identify. Do not comply.

It is said the wheels of justice grind slowly. Well, crank this one up because it deserves to be put on the fast track. First, the case must be made to the American public. Get someone out there who can speak concisely, articulately, and lay the case out so the American people can quickly understand that the IRS is using its power to target its political opposition. Throw in the fact that Lois Lerner is on paid leave and that might enrage a few taxpayers. Republicans have to get smarter. Take the facts to the American public and get off your duffs and demand answers. Right now, you are just spinning your wheels. My question is, why.

This is the woman hand- picked by the Obama Administration to run the Obamacare division of the IRS. She is laying low right now hoping that her accomplices in Congress can declare this scandal ´over´ and repeat it enough times to make it true. This is how government operates and I am not convinced that the Republicans are any better.

The Tea Party needs not play the tax exempt game and quit filing for it. Lay low and go about you business and don´t play the enemy´s game.

The worst part of Loopy Lois’s paid administrative leave is that being a Democrat activist mole in a federal agency is now not risky, but rather an opportunity to get full salary and benefits without ever coming into the office.

We need to make these political dirty tricksters stop and think, “Hey maybe this is not such fun. I could spend a quarter of my adult life in a prison cell for doing this sort of thing.”

Loopy’s most excellent vacation sets a very bad example.

Part of #2´s comment seems like something we have heard before in history: "She followed her bosses instructions". Does the Nuremberg Trials ring a bell?

Hopefully, when this abomination of the Obama years is over there will be a trial for these lowlifes who abused the role of a government employee.

At Nuremberg the big guys received severe punishment as well they should have. While Obama and his thugs have not yet achieved what the Nazis accomplished, they must be punished severely. These people colluded among themselves to deny anyone who opposed the Obama regime of their constitutional rights. How is that crime less important than the 3rd-rate crime of Watergate? There must be jail time for these thugs, too.

Too bad we on the right don´t have the modus operandi of the left.

24/7 pickets and protests outside of Lois´ I´m sure fashionable address where she lives (or has been placed by well-financed "friends").

Make her or her cohorts spend some of their loot on "security" or protection.

I still think the Republicans need to haul her in to spend a couple days of taking the fifth to each and every one of the charges that seem to pile up against her everyday.

She´s in this deep. I guess I´d take the fifth if I were her, too.

PS -- I´m going to interview for a job with IRS tomorrow. Maybe I can get a deal like Lois. With direct deposit, I wouldn´t even have to drive over to pick up my check every two weeks!

Hinted at in the article is the fact that politicians of all stripes will attempt to draw out any investigations of wrongdoing with the hope that after a length of time, they can response that that is "old news" and not worth talking about. Never mind that no action was taken to prevent the same wrongdoing in the future. Just move along. After all, congress critters have soooo much to do, as do all of the millions of executive branch employees. A for "the people" of course.

Conservative columnist Ann Coulter — who used her talk show platform in the last presidential election cycle to campaign hard for former Massachusetts Gov. She made the suggestion during a discussion on Sean Hannity’s radio show while speaking of her new book, “Never Trust a Liberal Over 3-Especially a Republican.” Ms. Coulter also addressed the question of Mr. Romney’s shortcomings by saying that his 2012 loss wasn’t entirely his fault. “I think too much blame, not only in this

He’s been hammered for going around Congress with executive orders. But he’s within his authority—and he should go further on voting and transparency to make government work better. With Congress paralyzed, President Obama has promised to use his “pen and phone” to overcome the ongoing dysfunction and get some work done. And the White House has already acted several times to help improve America’s economy. But such policies, no matter how valuable, will achieve little if we do not fix our broken democracy. Allow me to suggest some ideas for how the president can do just that. First, some historical context. Presidents

Here is a selection of highlights from Friday’s release of documents from the Clinton presidency. The cache is part of a total of about 33,000 pages of presidential records that had been held back from various public records releases because of legal reasons exempting them from disclosure. A Clinton administration memo (page 674) shows a White House that was acutely aware of the first lady’s image problems as officials contemplated how to soften perceptions of Hillary Clinton and how to “build, energize and expand” her natural base. The GOP has been hijacked. That’s right, hijacked. Over the past 100 years, an elite progressive minority has taken the Republican Party far afield from its conservative platform and the interests and values of its grassroots conservative base. I’ll admit that, in the aftermath of the disappointments of the 2012 elections, conservatives like me are angry. We are angry at being blamed for Mitt Romney’s defeat, when we argued from the beginning that he was a Big Government establishment politician and that if he ran a content-free campaign, he would lose. But the former Cabinet member and possible future presidential candidate may have been better served by a different title—like, say, Tough Decisions. Because Hard Choices has already been used. By another former secretary of State. In 1983, Cyrus Vance, who served as secretary of State

Regardless of how people feel about Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy’s standoff with the federal Bureau of Land Management over his cattle’s grazing rights, a lot of Americans were surprised to see TV images of an armed-to-the-teeth paramilitary wing of the BLM deployed around Bundy’s ranch. They shouldn’t have been. Dozens of federal agencies now have Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) teams to further an expanding definition of their missions. It’s not controversial that the Secret Service and the Bureau of Prisons have them. But what about the Department of Agriculture, the Railroad Retirement Board, the Tennessee Valley Authority, the Office of

"HILLARY RODHAM CLINTON’S INSIDE ACCOUNT OF THE CRISES, CHOICES, AND CHALLENGES SHE FACED DURING HER FOUR YEARS AS AMERICA’S 67TH SECRETARY OF STATE, AND HOW THOSE EXPERIENCES DRIVE HER VIEW OF THE FUTURE," reads a description of the book by the publisher. “All of us face hard choices in our lives,” Hillary Rodham Clinton writes at the start of this personal chronicle of years at the center of world events. “Life is about making these choices, and how we handle them shapes the people we become.” In the aftermath of her 2008 presidential run, she expected to return to representing New

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid called supporters of rancher Cliven Bundy “domestic terrorists” Thursday, turning up the rhetorical heat on the already tense situation at the Nevada cattle operation. “Those people who hold themselves out to be patriots are not. They’re nothing more than domestic terrorists,” Mr. Reid in remarks at a luncheon, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, which sponsored the event. “… I repeat: What went on up there was domestic terrorism.” The Nevada Democrat was referring to the hundreds of Bundy backers — some armed, some from out of state — who congregated at the ranch last week in

After presenting at the Academy Awards this year, Kim Novak didn’t want to leave her house. The Hitchcock screen siren, 81, was too humiliated to venture from her home near the Rogue River in Oregon. She read the cruel posts and Internet snark about her appearance, and it was just too much. “It got to me like it gets kids and teenagers,” she told the Associated Press. The “Vertigo” actress, considered one of the great beauties in her day, posted a note on her Facebook wall Thursday, acknowledging that she’d gotten fat injections in her face and addressing her halted

President Obama addressed the White House press corps today, announcing that with the final numbers in, Obamacare´s exchanges have attracted eight million sign-ups -- 35 percent of whom are "under the age of 35," he said. Several elements of his comments were misleading: (1) At first blush, the 35 percent stat is both significant and impressive. As recently as last month, the share of "young invincibles" signing up for plans was struggling in the 25 percent range, far short of the actuarial target of nearly 40 percent. A leap into the mid-30´s, while still shy of the goal, would constitute a major step, and would bode well for the risk pools'

It’s the stuff of Westerns: a showdown on the desert plains, the big bad government against an underdog farmer. Though the story has only grabbed national headlines in the past several days, rancher Cliven Bundy has illegally grazed cattle on the Nevada land surrounding his farm for over 20 years. He hasn’t paid grazing fees since 1993, and refuses to renew the necessary grazing permit.(Snip)Rather than using the avenues and pathways presented to him, Bundy has staunchly declared his own law and allegiances. Unfortunately, reality doesn’t work this way. If only it did—we could rebel for paying stupid taxes, refuse to

A group of seven multiracial Washington and Lee University (W&L) students are demanding the school remove all Confederate flags from campus and "acknowledge" General Robert E. Lee´s "dishonorable side." According to the Roanoke Times, "seven multiracial students, calling themselves ´The Committee,´" have also demanded the school "acknowledge and apologize for participating in chattel slavery." They want recognition of "Martin Luther King Jr. Day on the undergraduate campus" and an end to "neo-Confederates" marching across campus "to the Lee Chapel on Lee-Jackson Day." The students say they will "engage in civil disobedience" if their demands are not met by September 1st. They added: "The

The White House is going to war with another fox — and this time, it’s personal. The Wall Street Journal reports that a red fox has been causing chaos around the White House, tripping security alarms, digging up Michelle’s garden and distracting the president from his duties. The Secret Service won’t give any details about how often the fox trips the White House’s obviously sophisticated security alarms, but rest assured, officials say, they’re watching. President Obama was apparently “stunned” to see the fox roaming freely down the oft-photographed White House colonnade, home to the world’s shortest, but most dramatic, outdoor strolls. GREENSBORO, Ga. — Golf holes the size of pizzas. Soccer balls on the back nine. A mulligan on every hole. These are some of the measures — some would say gimmicks — that golf courses across the country have experimented with to stop people from quitting the game. Golf has always reveled in its standards and rich tradition. But increasingly a victim of its own image and hidebound ways, golf has lost five million players in the last decade, according to the National Golf Foundation, with 20 percent of the existing 25 million golfers apt to quit in the next few years. People under 35 have especially spurned the game, saying it takes too

To "honor the dignity and work of immigrants," Democratic House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi helps Bishop Marc Andrus wash the feet of two children Thursday at Saint John the Evangelist Episcopal Church in San Francisco. Pelosi also used the occasion to talk about passing HR15 - bipartisan immigration legislation that her office says would "reduce the deficit by nearly $1 trillion, secure our borders, unite our families, protect our workers and provide an earned pathway to citizenship." The Democratic leader´s ceremony coincides with Pope Francis´ similar ceremony in Rome to mark Holy Week.

Imagine a vendor on the National Mall, selling burgers and dogs, who hasn’t paid his rent in 20 years. He refuses to recognize his landlord, the National Park Service, as a legitimate authority. Every court has ruled against him, and fines have piled up. What’s more, the effluents from his food cart are having a detrimental effect on the spring grass in the capital. Would an armed posse come to his defense, aiming their guns at the park police? Would the lawbreaker get prime airtime on Fox News, breathless updates in the Drudge Report, a sympathetic ear from Tea Party Republicans?

Hi, everybody. For millions of Americans, this time of year holds great meaning. Earlier this week, we hosted a Passover Seder at the White House, and joined Jewish families around the world in their re-tellings of the story of the Exodus and the victory of faith over oppression. And this Sunday, Michelle, Malia, Sasha, and I will join our fellow Christians around the world in celebrating the Resurrection of Christ, the salvation he offered the world, and the hope that comes with the Easter season. These holy days have their roots in miracles that took place long ago. And yet, they still inspire us, guide us, and strengthen us today. They remind us of our

Conservative columnist Ann Coulter — who used her talk show platform in the last presidential election cycle to campaign hard for former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney — has taken up the mantra once again, calling on Republicans to give the failed White House bidder another shot in 2016.

The Clintons had a busy night of celebrations after Chelsea announced she and husband Marc Mezvinsky are expecting a baby. Spacey’s president for 15 minutes and he gets away with murder.” Spacey, who sang during the event with Sting, Stephen Stills and James Taylor, also showed off his Johnny Carson impression, taking a swipe at the coverage of Flight
