The conventional wisdom is that when you poll "all adults" as opposed to a tighter screening for "registered voters," Democrats generally do better. If that is the case, the latest poll from The Economist/YouGov is the worse news yet for a president obviously in over his head with the Russians and Syria. Obama currently sits at 38% approve/56% disapprove with all adults. Polling in thirties is danger territory for any American president. When a president loses the people, he loses his political power to achieve any agenda through persuasion and arm-twisting. With registered voters, Obama is doing a little better
Outlier. Internet poll in field on weekend before Obama Syria Speech. Gallup shows a 3 point improvement ovenight. I predict Obama will rise in polls because lo-fo´s see ´No War´ and do not follow all the bumbling process. Nolte knows zero about polling as he fell for all the "skewed polls´ bs regarding Romney. Cherry picking an internet poll over a daily tracker like Gallup (adults also) or Rasmussen (LVs) is malpractice worthy of Drudge.
This suggests there is an over-abundance of Dems in the registered voter sample.
Now is the perfect time to demand that Obamacare not be funded until the administration is ready to implement the entire law including the employer mandate, the verification of eligibility for premium tax rebates, and security measures to prevent identity theft.
Can you imagine who that 38% is? Pelosi, Krugman, college kids, Marxists, people on the dole and a couple of million morons.
Don´t get too carried away, though. Even though the media crowd sullenly admits what a mess this whole thing was, they will mount a fierce counterattack on his behalf in a few days, once it calms down a bit. They need to lay the groundwork for a new propaganda concept. I can see it now: "Putin blinked!" Don´t laugh.
Adam Shaw, an editor for the Fox News website, has been taking a lot of heat, even from some conservatives, for a rip-roaring assessment of the pope’s recent apostolic exhortation. His column is titled: “Pope Francis is the Catholic Church’s Obama – God help us,” which gives you a sense of where Shaw was coming from. But if Shaw’s Fox job is safe — hey, when Rush Limbaugh is blasting the pontiff anyone else looks tame — his other gig, as a film and video game reviewer for Catholic News Service, is over as of yesterday.
WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama has high praise for potential 2016 contenders Vice President Joe Biden and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. “I think Joe Biden will go down in history as one of the best vice presidents ever, and he has been with me, at my side, in every tough decision that I’ve made,” Obama told MSNBC in an interview Thursday held at American University. “Hillary, I think, will go down in history as one of the finest secretaries of state we’ve ever had, and helped to transition us away from a deep hole that we were in,
Elective abortion coverage is offered in 103 of 112 ObamaCare insurance plans for members of Congress and their staff. As reported by the Daily Caller, the availability of elective abortion coverage to members of Congress and their staff may represent a moral and legal violation, since congressional insurance coverage will be subsidized by the federal government under the law. Essentially, this means American taxpayers are funding abortions. Rep. Chris Smith (R-NJ), co-chair of the House Pro-Life Caucus, is responsible for the analysis. “In the run-up to passage of ObamaCare, Americans were repeatedly told and reassured by President Obama
Last December President Obama boasted a 53 percent (average) approval rating. Eleven months later, however, only 41 percent on average now approve of the job he’s doing as president -- a remarkable reversal. Millennials, in other words, mustn’t be the only ones losing faith in their president. As it happens, so are Hispanics, non-whites, moderates, the poor, and just about everyone else: [graph] Obamacare aside, perhaps one reason why the president’s approval ratings are plummeting is because Americans´ distrust of the president is growing. And public relations "blunders" like these aren’t going to change their minds.
Pope Francis (real name: Jorge Mario Bergoglio) has shaken up the Catholic church with some plain speaking about faith and about life in the 21st century. He has had an impact on other faiths, as well. Welcome to “pope envy.” I first encountered the term in an essay by Jana Riess, a liberal Mormon writer. “I’ve delighted in seeing this beautiful revitalization of hope in the Catholic Church,” Riess wrote, “but I’ve also felt twinges of (an admittedly un-Christian) envy.” Why wouldn’t a Mormon, or anyone for that matter, envy the un-self-conscious spiritual leadership of a prelate who warns nuns
WASHINGTON, Dec. 5 -- The likelihood of life on other planets is "very high," a planetary scientist told a House committee in a hearing some Democrats chided as evading U.S. issues. "The chance that there´s a planet like Earth out there with life on it is very high," Massachusetts Institute of Technology planetary science and physics Professor Sara Seager told the House Science Committee. "The question is: Is there life near here, in our neighborhood of stars? We think the chances are good," she said, answering a question from Rep. Ralph Hall, R-Texas, who asked: "Do you think there´s life
A young man in his 20s -- let´s call him George -- sits across from me in the exam room. "Dr. Youn," he says, "I have man boobs." I notice a not-so-unfamiliar smell wafting from his body. It´s the same odor that floated my way during a rock concert I recently attended. "How long have you had a problem with this, George?" "Hard to say. But it seems to have gotten worse over the past year or so." "George, the first thing you need to do is stop smoking pot. Marijuana could be causing your man boobs." Gynecomastia, otherwise known
The president put in his ask to Disney CEO Bob Iger at a private meeting with entertainment moguls during his Nov. 26 visit to Jeffrey Katzenberg´s DreamWorks Animation. [snip] If you have any doubt as to how much of a sports junkie Barack Obama is, check in with the entertainment moguls who attended a private briefing with the president Nov. 26 before his speech at Jeffrey Katzenberg´s DreamWorks Animation campus in Glendale. At the end of the conversation -- which touched on a myriad of topics, from piracy to Iran -- Obama revealed what´s at the top of his bucket
Washington -- Democratic Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, one of Obamacare´s architects and staunchest supporters, is also the only top congressional leader to exempt some of his staff from having to buy insurance through the law´s new exchanges. Reid is the exception among the other top congressional leaders. GOP House Speaker John Boehner, House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi and Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell have all directed their staffs to join the exchange, their aides said. After website woes, President pushes benefits of Obamacare. In the charged atmosphere surrounding Obamacare, Reid´s decision only gives Republicans more ammo to attack Democrats
Rep. Mo Brooks (R., Ala.) is warning his constituents to not go on healthcare.gov, the Obamacare website, unless they’re “willing to accept the risk that their identities will be stolen.” The online health care exchange has been beset with glitches since its launch, with one particularly alarming issue being users having their personal information compromised. The Washington Free Beacon reported Tuesday that the marketplace is even more vulnerable to security breaches since the administration “fixed” Healthcare.gov, according to a cyber security expert. Brooks, therefore, bluntly said he would not recommend anyone from his district, Alabama’s 5th, go on the site.
The suspect in the vicious attack of a Catholic missionary worker who prayed the “Hail Mary” while she was raped is now in custody on Rikers Island in connection with several robberies in Manhattan. According to a report by Murray Weiss in DNAinfo, DNA evidence taken from a fedora hat dropped by the suspect near the crime scene at Washington Square near New York University (NYU) matched that of a homeless ex-con who had been arrested over a week ago in connection with three robberies in the Midtown and Chelsea sections of Manhattan. Detectives had launched an intense manhunt for
I have never been much of a conspiracy theorist. For me it was always Oswald by himself from the Texas School Book Depository and nothing in the intervening fifty years has disabused me of this notion. For the most part, I’m an Occam’s Razor kind of guy — the most obvious explanation is likely to be true. (Snip) To put it bluntly, Occam’s Razor has moved. Things that were once possibilities now seem almost certainties to me. Principal among those is that Obama’s academic records are perpetually unavailable for a reason — and that reason is most likely that they reveal
One of President Obama´s chief political assets has been his ability to excite young people like almost no politician in history. But the days of America´s youth fawning over the president are over. A new Harvard University Institute of Politics poll released Wednesday confirms what other surveys have shown in recent months: Millennials have soured on Obama so much this year that their opinion of him largely mirrors the American public´s. Even though Obama does not ever have to face another election, he should be worried about the findings for a couple of reasons, which we will dive into momentarily.
Last summer on his $100 million family tour of Africa, Barack Obama hoped for a priceless photo op with Nelson Mandela, the ailing freedom pioneer who went from prison cell to the presidency of South Africa. Mandela´s family suggested that wouldn’t happen. So, the Obamas did a photo op in Mandela´s former prison cell. Which Obama’s White House quickly tweeted upon word of the icon´s passing at 95. [Skip] But Obama was also caught staring at television coverage of Mandela’s passing, which became Obama’s Photo of the Day.
Hardly a week goes by without Hillary Clinton receiving another award. Last month she was named a “Global Champion” by the International Medical Corps, received the American Patriot Award at the National Defense University Foundation and the Hermandad Award from the Mexican American Leadership Initiative. [Snip] At this rate, if a bunch of elderly left-wing Swedes toss her the Nobel Peace Prize early on, the way they did to Obama, it will barely rate mention among all the other glittering trophies that have been bestowed on a woman whose only actual accomplishment was being married to a crooked governor with
A stunning new study unveiled on Fox News´ Hannity finds that President Barack Obama’s White House calendar records just one face-to-face meeting between Obama and his Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Kathleen Sebelius in the more than three-and-a-half years leading up to the disastrous Obamacare launch. The startling statistic comes from a new Government Accountability Institute (GAI) analysis of Obama’s own official White House calendar, as well as the Politico presidential calendar, and raises new questions about Obama’s executive leadership and management throughout the implementation of his singular legislative achievement. More alarming still, the president’s schedule lists 277 private
Speaker John Boehner said his party should support gay Republican congressional candidates and urged his colleagues to “be a little more sensitive” when running against women. “Some of our members just aren’t as sensitive as they ought to be,” Boehner said. When asked if he thinks his party should support gay candidates, Boehner simply said: “I do.”
In February, the Bush family’s personal emails were hacked by Guccifer, a hacker who uncovered photographs of former President George H. W. Bush in a hospital bed and George W. Bush’s oil paintings in the process. It seems Guccifer has struck again, this time targeting former President Bill Clinton and the Clinton Library. The hacker has reportedly uncovered doodles of Clinton drawing on what were, at the time, classified documents. Among the doodles is apparently a picture of a penis. The document uncovered is a briefing of the strategic measures the United States could take prior Clinton’s decision to intervene in
Amid an array of “knock-out” attacks against a number of Jews in Brooklyn’s Crown Heights neighborhood, a city councilwoman pointed to the success of the Jewish community as triggering the aggression. Councilwoman-elect Laurie Cumbo emphasized that while she “admire[s] the Jewish community immensely” for its work ethic, black teens may see it differently. “While I personally regard this level of tenacity, I also recognize that for others, the accomplishments of the Jewish community triggers feelings of resentment, and a sense that Jewish success is not also their success,” Cumbo, who was recently elected, wrote in a letter. Chief among the issues
On Tuesday, The Boston Globe reported that Onyango “Omar” Obama, uncle to President Obama, says that his famous nephew stayed with him while a student at Harvard Law School in the 80s, in contradiction to The White House’s contention that the two had never met. At Thursday’s White House daily briefing, Press Secretary Jay Carney confirmed that the President had, in fact, briefly stayed with “his father’s half-brother,” as Carney described Omar Obama, and that no one had actually asked the President about it when the White House initially commented. The 69 year-old Omar Obama has been facing deportation back
Denver - A baker who refused to make a wedding cake for a same-sex ceremony must serve gay couples despite his religious beliefs or face fines, a judge said Friday. The order from administrative law judge Robert N. Spencer said Masterpiece Cakeshop in suburban Denver discriminated against a couple "because of their sexual orientation by refusing to sell them a wedding cake for their same-sex marriage." The order says the cake-maker must "cease and desist from discriminating" against gay couples. Although the judge did not impose fines in this case, the business will face penalties if it continues to turn away gay
The world premiere of the “Ballad for Trayvon Martin for Orchestra and Jazz Quartet” is set for tonight. Princeton University’s director of its jazz-studies program composed the work in honor of the Florida teen. Anthony D. J. Branker told the Star-Ledger that the piece is intended to “be a form of healing” after Martin’s death and the controversial court case that followed it. The ballad, which will be performed by the university’s official orchestra and jazz ensemble, is intended to be a tribute to victims of racial violence, Branker explained. He hopes that the performance will be “one that speaks to
WASHINGTON – A fourth straight month of solid hiring cut the U.S. unemployment rate to a five-year low of 7 percent in November, an encouraging sign for the economy. The Labor Department says employers added 203,000 jobs, nearly matching October´s revised gain of 200,000. The job gains helped lower the unemployment rate from 7.3 percent in October. The strengthening job market is likely to fuel speculation that the Federal Reserve may start to scale back its bond purchases when it meets later this month. The economy has now generated an average of 204,000 jobs from August through November. That´s up
