What to watch for in
President Obama’s speech tonight

Washington Post, by Chris Cillizza

Original Article

President Obama will address the country over the situation in Syria tonight, an address that comes amid continued erosion of Congressional support for a use of force resolution against the country and the emergence of a possible diplomatic solution involving Russia and the United Nations. So, what will Obama say? And, perhaps more importantly, how will he say it? Here’s our viewer’s guide for the speech. The target audience: When President Obama initially announced he would give this speech last Friday in Russia, the expectation was that it would be aimed at convincing the American public and,

If you must watch his "speech," watch his reptilian eyes. The more they blink, or squint down hard, you know 0bama is lying & preparing to strike.

Asia seeks Obama’s

Washington - As President Barack Obama travels through Asia this coming week, he will find a region that’s warily watching the crisis in Ukraine through the prism of its own territorial tensions with China. Each of the four countries on Obama’s itinerary — Japan, South Korea, Malaysia and the Philippines — has a dispute with Beijing over islands in the South and East China Seas. (Snip) Administration officials, including Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel, have taken a tougher line on the territorial issues in recent weeks, sternly warning China against the use of military force and noting that the U.S. has not formally taken sides on the question

Doctors can be hard people to shock, but a recent case left one surgeon flabbergasted. A 63-year-old man came to hospital complaining of vomiting and stomach pain. He claimed he´d swallowed the lid of a bottle in an act of anger during a marital dispute, and was given an x-ray. Doctors knew what they were seeing was no bottle cap, but it was not until they operated on the man that the source of his complaint was revealed. Twelve bars of gold weighing nearly 400g were found in the man´s stomach and removed. The BBC reports that police and customs authorities had questioned the businessman and confiscated the gold.

Doha, Qatar - The Muslim Brotherhood, the Islamic political organization that has been defanged in almost every area where it was once a key player, has driven a deep rift between the Gulf´s two most powerful players. Months of tension between Qatar and its neighbors came to a head last month when Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) withdrew their ambassadors. Although the regional Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) announced yesterday that the parties had resolved their disagreement, that will likely remain a surface-level fix unless Qatar abandons its support of the Muslim Brotherhood – something it

Washington - The Obama administration is putting off its decision on the Keystone XL oil pipeline, likely until after the November elections, by extending its review of the controversial project indefinitely. In a surprise announcement Friday as Washington was winding down for Easter, the State Department said federal agencies will have more time to weigh in on the politically fraught decision — but declined to say how much longer. Officials said the decision will have to wait for the dust to settle in Nebraska, where a judge in February overturned a state law that allowed the pipeline´s path through the state.

Washington - The National Archives on Friday released its largest batch yet of previously withheld documents from the Clinton administration, with topics including the conflicts in Somalia and Rwanda, Middle East peace negotiations, the Oklahoma City bombing and public figures as varied as Richard M.
