Ed Asner Explains Hollywood
Silence on Obama, Syria: They
´Don´t Want to Feel Anti-Black´

Hollywood Reporter, by Paul Bond

Don´t look for Iraq War-style protests, says the liberal activist, who -- like "M*A*S*H" star Mike Farrell -- opposes military action. In 2003, ahead of a U.S. attack on Iraq, a robust anti-war movement in Hollywood included a TV commercial starring Martin Sheen and Sean Penn visiting Baghdad. There were online petitions signed by Ed Asner; letters to President George W. Bush pleading for peace were signed by Matt Damon, Tim Robbins, Barbra Streisand and Alec Baldwin; former M*A*S*H star Mike Farrell fronted multiple press conferences where celebrities denounced war. In interviews, Janeane Garofalo stopped identifying herself as an actor

These people are crazy idiots. They aren´t very smart are they? They think with emotion instead of their brains.

With leftists and communists like asner it´s all about feelings they don´t want to "feel" anti-black even though they are. It´s all about fairness, and everyone feeling the same and having the same. The left has more racists than any other group but they don´t want to feel bad about their true beliefs about blacks and other minorities. With live in an upside down world. Good grief asner has his millions and he wants the rest of us to support every loopy leftist idea. White liberals like asner have destroyed the black family and community.

Well, they do live in the land of "make believe" don´t they? And that´s not simply a cliche. Liberals are, by choice, living in a make believe world where reality, evidence, and logic are trumped by what they wish were true.

They WISH Obama was wise, principled, effective. He´s not. Oh-oh. Mustn´t say anything to conflict with the wish.

Actually, it demonstrates their complete misunderstanding (lack of?) logic. To them criticizing one black man means criticizing ALL black men (i.e., being "anti-black"). Idiots.

It´s worse than mere hypocrisy. Asner is saying that fear of being anti-Black among his Hollywood friends is more important than expressing any outrage at the use of chemical weapons on children or on the mass-slaughter and displacement of the Syrian people.

This is mental illness in full bloom.

I am reminded of the foaming at the mouth feminists, who went after Clarence Thomas because he may have once discussed a porn video with a male subordinate, and once said ´who put a pubic hair on my coke can?´
Those were deadly examples of workplace sexual harassment, said the feminists.
But when president bill Clinton put his penis in the mouth of his young intern, that was not workplace sexual harassment, said those same feminists.
Shame on them all.

Both certifiable inhabitants of La La Land. They say Iraq was illegal even though Bush got permission from the UN before going in but Syria where Obama asserts he needs no permission from anybody but would like the congress to sign on for cover is not so bad because it´s just a missile attack (it´s apparently obvious to La La Landers that no larger war is possible from just a missile attack). Funny, I also stopped identifying Janeane Garafolo as an actress or comedienne a long time ago, too. The first time she opened her filthy whore-mouth [from Whore Island, h/t Ron Burgundy] as an ´anti-war activist´, I started identifying her as an unfunny disgusting lying skank-slut. Merely my opinion, don´cha know?

Special Ed Asner says the attitude of "Who gives a Shiite?" is pervasive in Hollyweird. I think that is also the attitude of the majority of America towards any sort of anti-American garbage being excreted by the studios onto movie screens across the country.

I may have to buy two tickets to the Taste Policeman´s Ball in order to get out of trouble for THIS post...

He says Hollywood is reluctant to criticize Obama because he´s black. I agree with all three of those statements. Since the Syrian issue has absolutely nothing to do with race, those whose judgments and responses to Obama´s proposals are based upon the color of his skin are racists. They are, of course, also idiots. Only in the 20th century has anyone ever taken the opinions of entertainers seriously. Throughout most of history actors and actresses and performers have been regarded -rightly for the most part- as uneducated, unintelligent, unreliable and immoral. It is an ominous sign of the dumbing down feature of democracy that people today care what such people think about matters of importance.

We have always known that the only real racists in America today are those who are always talking about race, accusing others of being racists, making race a big deal, injecting race into every issue. They are the ones with race on the brain, who think race is a huge issue, that the color of someone´s skin matters. They are the ones they are against. They are the racists.

Asner portrayed a tyranical male chauvinist on the super lame TV show with equally lame brain Mary Tyler Moore.

And Farrell played some military guy on a super lame TV sitcom show making fun about the Korean war, I think.

I was a little kid when these shows were on TV and thought they were really stupid and lame then.

I gather their sitcoms are no longer in syndication due to their utter lameness.

So why on earth would anyone give either of these dinosaurs, who have not been on TV for 40 years, a hearing aid?

World Vision had announced last month that its American branch would begin hiring people in same-sex unions who dedicate their lives to God. Just two days later, the group reversed the decision under pressure from evangelical leaders. “The board acknowledged it made a mistake and chose to revert to our longstanding policy requiring sexual abstinence for all single employees and

In Silicon Valley, where personal quirks and even antisocial personalities are tolerated as long as you are building new products and making money, a socially conservative viewpoint may be one trait you have to keep to yourself. On Thursday, Brendan Eich, who has helped develop some of the web’s most important technologies, resigned under pressure as chief executive of Mozilla, the maker of the popular Firefox web browser, just two weeks after taking the job. (snip) While he was being portrayed as an opponent of gay people, Mr. Eich said he believed in inclusiveness within Mozilla and had never discriminated.

In what the Los Angeles Times is referring to as a meningitis outbreak in L.A.´s gay community, since January 1 there have been eight occurrences of invasive meningococcal disease in L.A. County. Four of those cases have been of gay men, and three of those four have died, officials reported Thursday. North Hollywood and West Hollywood were identified in the Times report as the areas where the sickened men socialized. Invasive meningococcal disease is a serious bacterial infection caused by the bacterium Neisseria meningitidis. The bacteria can invade the body and spread to the blood, brain, or spinal cord, causing

When discussing the thoughtcrime prosecution and ouster of Mozilla CEO Brendan Eich last night, I quoted a passage from a First Things article which appeared to assert that Eich´s donation to the campaign for the Prop 8 gay marriage ban in California in 2008 - the sole reason he was hounded out of his job by a fascist mob - was made public when corrupt agents of the Internal Revenue Service leaked the donor list for the National Organization for Marriage to a gay-rights group. In an update to the post, I mentioned that I had quickly grown doubtful of

John Edwards — who quit his presidential campaign in disgrace when he was caught cheating on his wife — was barred from Bunny Mellon’s funeral by her family. The former US Senator from North Carolina had charmed Rachel Lambert Mellon, known to all as Bunny, into donating $700,000 for his 2008 presidential bid. Prosecutors charged he used some of the money to support his mistress Rielle Hunter, who was then pregnant with his daughter Frances Quinn. When the former politician and his daughter Cate Edwards, who is also his law partner, arrived Friday at Mellon’s funeral at the Trinity Episcopal

The White House is going to war with another fox — and this time, it’s personal. The Wall Street Journal reports that a red fox has been causing chaos around the White House, tripping security alarms, digging up Michelle’s garden and distracting the president from his duties. The Secret Service won’t give any details about how often the fox trips the White House’s obviously sophisticated security alarms, but rest assured, officials say, they’re watching. President Obama was apparently “stunned” to see the fox roaming freely down the oft-photographed White House colonnade, home to the world’s shortest, but most dramatic, outdoor strolls. The bushy-tailed visitor

A group of seven multiracial Washington and Lee University (W&L) students are demanding the school remove all Confederate flags from campus and "acknowledge" General Robert E. Lee´s "dishonorable side." According to the Roanoke Times, "seven multiracial students, calling themselves ´The Committee,´" have also demanded the school "acknowledge and apologize for participating in chattel slavery." They want recognition of "Martin Luther King Jr. Day on the undergraduate campus" and an end to "neo-Confederates" marching across campus "to the Lee Chapel on Lee-Jackson Day." The students say they will "engage in civil disobedience" if their demands are not met by September 1st. They added: "The

For Hillary Clinton, having her own baby grandchild to kiss on the campaign trail, could be one of the biggest boosts to her possible presidential election campaign. Although the former Secretary of State and First Lady has not said if she will run in 2016, the arrival of her first grandchild will soften her image, analysts have said. While Chelsea only revealed her pregnancy on Thursday, supporters of her mother have already started cooing over a possible baby in the White House. With the Clintons having a near-royal status in the U.S., the announcement of a new arrival due this fall has sent

GREENSBORO, Ga. — Golf holes the size of pizzas. Soccer balls on the back nine. A mulligan on every hole. These are some of the measures — some would say gimmicks — that golf courses across the country have experimented with to stop people from quitting the game. Golf has always reveled in its standards and rich tradition. But increasingly a victim of its own image and hidebound ways, golf has lost five million players in the last decade, according to the National Golf Foundation, with 20 percent of the existing 25 million golfers apt to quit in the next few years. People under 35 have especially spurned the game, saying it takes too

Hi, everybody. For millions of Americans, this time of year holds great meaning. Earlier this week, we hosted a Passover Seder at the White House, and joined Jewish families around the world in their re-tellings of the story of the Exodus and the victory of faith over oppression. And this Sunday, Michelle, Malia, Sasha, and I will join our fellow Christians around the world in celebrating the Resurrection of Christ, the salvation he offered the world, and the hope that comes with the Easter season. These holy days have their roots in miracles that took place long ago. And yet, they still inspire us, guide us, and strengthen us today. They remind us of our

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Thursday that a family of dissident ranchers and their supporters in his home state of Nevada are ´domestic terrorists,´ citing this week´s standoff with the federal government´s Bureau of Land Management. Cliven Bundy has refused to pay grazing fees for land where his hundreds of cattle roam every day. The land is owned by the federal government, which says he owes more than $1 million. Bundy, however, insists that since his family has been using the land since the 1870s, Uncle Sam can´t collect the grazing fees. A tense standoff developed this week after

To "honor the dignity and work of immigrants," Democratic House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi helps Bishop Marc Andrus wash the feet of two children Thursday at Saint John the Evangelist Episcopal Church in San Francisco. Pelosi also used the occasion to talk about passing HR15 - bipartisan immigration legislation that her office says would "reduce the deficit by nearly $1 trillion, secure our borders, unite our families, protect our workers and provide an earned pathway to citizenship." The Democratic leader´s ceremony coincides with Pope Francis´ similar ceremony in Rome to mark Holy Week.

WASHINGTON--Rushing to an afternoon vote last month, Sen. Ted Cruz hopped the underground tram to the U.S. Capitol from his office across the street. The Texan planted his black ostrich cowboy boots in the middle of the small subway car without getting so much as a nod from the other senators--Republican or Democrat--amiably chatting or huddled in their seats. Mr. Cruz finds himself standing alone a lot these days. His response to the cold shoulders: "The establishment despised Ronald Reagan" before he became president, "but the people loved him." For the 43-year-old Republican, the Reagan name illuminates his political life´s

Imagine a vendor on the National Mall, selling burgers and dogs, who hasn’t paid his rent in 20 years. He refuses to recognize his landlord, the National Park Service, as a legitimate authority. Every court has ruled against him, and fines have piled up. What’s more, the effluents from his food cart are having a detrimental effect on the spring grass in the capital. Would an armed posse come to his defense, aiming their guns at the park police? Would the lawbreaker get prime airtime on Fox News, breathless updates in the Drudge Report, a sympathetic ear from Tea Party Republicans?

Conservative columnist Ann Coulter — who used her talk show platform in the last presidential election cycle to campaign hard for former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney — has taken up the mantra once again, calling on Republicans to give the failed White House bidder another shot in 2016. She made the suggestion during a discussion on Sean Hannity’s radio show while speaking of her new book, “Never Trust a Liberal Over 3-Especially a Republican.” Ms. Coulter also addressed the question of Mr. Romney’s shortcomings by saying that his 2012 loss wasn’t entirely his fault. “I think too much blame, not only in this

Prominent Washington correspondents are accusing President Obama and his aides of knowingly stretching the truth on issues like the so-called women´s pay gap just to create controversy and keep issues -- and the president -- relevant. Washington Post columnist Ruth Marcus kicked off the attack last week when she blasted as “demagoguery” the administration´s tactics during the pay gap debate. “The level of hyperbole -- actually, of demagoguery -- that Democrats have engaged in here is revolting,” she wrote. CBS White House Correspondent Major Garrett then weighed in this week in his National Journal
