Much of the inner-city violence held up as an example of why we need "gun control" is caused in large measure by criminal activity made possible by "illegal drug control."

Decent parenting could have prevented this. If the gun-controllers need to regulate something they should regulate - and educate - prospective parents.

Arrests for crack dealing and robbery by 14? Tragic on so many fronts. I don´t think I can find blame on the police on this one. I do feel sorry for the officer who shot him as now he has to live with the fact he shot a 14 year old (even if in self defense) for the rest of his life.

A fourteen-year-old can shoot a cop just as dead as a thirty-year-old (in Africa, the most vicious killers are child soldiers). I wouldn´t be inclined to shed a tear just because he hasn´t been on this planet long enough to cause real damage.

Contrast this article with the article posted just below about a 15 year old IT entrepreneur with a #3.5M company who also happens to be a black male. Were their paths pre-determined at birth by accident of parentage or place of birth? Liberally managed East Coast inner city of Newark, NJ vs small town fly-over country Hazelwood, Mo? Would the 14 year old have been dealing in heroin in Missouri while the 15 year old managed a global enterprise in New Jersey? Are the determinant variables something else entirely?

I´m guessing the cops know who was running the kid. It may have even been he ice cream eating mom. 30 bricks of heroin? Adult drug lords run kids because kids won´t be treated as an adult with caught with drugs. Cops know this. Look at the kid´s record. Look at how many times had he been arrested, and yet he was still out on the street. The law doesn´t allow for "children" to locked up as an habitual offender.

Just to make sure we didn´t let it pass unnoticed, but this didn´t happen as a consequence of ´illegal drug control´ ~ this neighborhood is just the sort of place where they´ll shoot the pizza delivery guy rather than mess around trying to count the change.

Just guessing, but it´s probably been 20 years or more since any pizzas were delivered here.

While the federal government was trumpeting the benefits of Obamacare to boost enrollment earlier this year, about 1,800 families in New Jersey were receiving letters telling them their children would be losing their health coverage last week. The Affordable Care Act — the federal law that mandates everyone have insurance — effectively killed FamilyCare Advantage, a low-cost option for kids in New Jersey created six years ago for parents who earned too much to qualify for Medicaid and other subsidized programs but too little to buy on a policy on their own. Democrats are facing a senior problem that could get even worse this year. The party has traditionally had trouble with older voters, losing the group aged 65 and over by 21 points in 2010 — when Republicans picked up 63 seats — and by 12 points in the 2012 presidential race. Seniors are the GOP’s most reliable voting bloc in midterm years, turning out in higher numbers than Democratic base voters. A recent Gallup poll showed seniors have become even more Republican over the last two decades; in 2013, 48 percent considered themselves Republican. LONDON - Peaches Geldof, the wild-child second daughter of concert organizer Bob Geldof who worked as a model, a television presenter and a fashion writer and filled the pages of British tabloids with her late-night antics, has died at age 25. There was no immediate word on the cause of her death at her home in Wrotham, Kent, southeast England. Her father said in a statement Monday: "Peaches has died. We are beyond pain." "She was the wildest, funniest, cleverest, wittiest and the most bonkers of all of us," he said. "Writing 'was' destroys me afresh. What a beautiful child. How is this possible that we will not see her again? How is that bearable? We loved her and will cherish her forever."

In an interview with Yahoo News “global anchor” Katie Couric, the actor called Obamacare the highlight of President Obama´s legacy. “Now’s the time to stake a claim to leave your legacy,” he encouraged Obama. “I personally believe that his health care program is fantastic. Yes, there are problems. Anything worth while is going to go through a growing pains period. But this is his legacy and I think it’s a great one because I don’t

American public school students sick of the smaller portions and healthier offerings they get at lunch thanks to Michelle Obama´s anti-obesity initiatives are sounding off on social media. Just a month after school lunch participation saw the steepest drop on record following the implementation of the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act, students tired of going home hungry are making sure the first lady knows why. ´I´ll never forgive Michelle Obama for this school lunch,´ tweeted one angry student. [Snip] The extremely negative reviews have over a million kids refusing to eat the offerings, an ironic result for legislation meant to combat
