Sarah Palin´s offensive remarks about Syria
CNN.com, by Dean Obeidallah

Original Article

Posted By:gator, 9/4/2013 9:41:52 AM

That is Sarah Palin´s succinct argument against U.S. intervention into Syria. And I have to be honest: I´m impressed with Palin on this one. Not with her horribly callous recommendation, made via Facebook late last week, but because she appears to speak some Arabic. I´m not saying Palin is fluent in the language, but she did use the Arabic word "Allah." She could´ve simply used the word "God" instead of Allah since it has the identical meaning. (Christian Arabs use the word Allah when speaking of God in Arabic.)

Comments:
Give Mr. Obeidallah your thoughts on his opinion.

Never heard of him, but it appears he´s using Sarah´s name to gain a bit of publicity ... and a few Twitter followers.

He is the co-director of the comedy documentary "The Muslims Are Coming!" which will be released in September. Follow him on Twitter

It´s true that Allah is the Arabic word for God and Christians use it in that regard, but for Muslims Allah has a far different connotation than for Christians. Arab Christians believe in a benevolent Allah (the Almighty God of scripture) while Muslims believe in an Allah who wants as much death and destruction as can be perpetrated in his name.

The Christian God grants Free Will.

The Muslim Allah demands total obedience.

IMO, Allah is more akin to the Christian concept of Satan.

First of all Dean (whatever his second name) should understand and publicly accept that Allah is NOT the same as God. The equivalent in Islamic culture is "Khuda", which has a coloration of to each his own. Allah is very specific and condemns any other form of belief usually with death. Sarah is far more perceptive than these idiots realize.

You go, Sarah! If Allah is just the Arabic, word for God, why do English-speaking Muslims call their god Allah? Allah is their God, like Jupiter or Zeus to the Romans and Greeks, not ours.

Actually Dean, the phrase comes from the mercenaries of the 60´s and 70´s. Especially in Africa, they were fighting in very confused political and social situations.

So it became an easier to kill them all, and let God sort it out.

By the way, Allah Akbar is a war cry. It´s not the same as saying "Thank God."

I am so tired of these experts who´ve never been there done that, like both Dean and McCain.

Well... NO, actually; Allah Akbar is muttered as muslims KILL and Praise God is muttered in thankfulness for blessings.

Now NWO members are reduced to being Muslim Brotherhood ambassadors.

Oh my Sarah really can set them off can´t she? They´re compelled to knock her down every time she says something. In this case I think he´s just giving her good PR. My guess is most Americans think "let Allah sort them out" perfectly captures their opinion of the civil war in Syria. They´re all Islamists killing each other for the right to eventually establish their version of the Caliphate for the glory of Allah in dominion over us all. We aren´t terribly perturbed by them killing each other off before they get there. No need to go back to the crusades for sources.

´allah´ (note: not capitalized) may indeed be their god. And there is, in fact, such a being. It´s a demon of hell, as real as Beelzebub, and probably a first cousin.
Pretending that a demon is just another face of the Almighty, blessed be He, is several steps beyond a lie.
Offending these devil worshippers seems to me to be a good thing to do.

Gee, thats funny, I always thought that Christians called God "Jesus". I´ve heard references to "God the Father", but never heard of "Allah the Father". The term "Allah hu akbar" literally means "God is Greatest" and is historically used as a battle cry. The first time in the 700´s when the Caliph was facing an overwhelming foe. He supposedly shouted "Allah hu Akbar" and charged ending up victorious. As for Allah himself, he was the tribal moon god of Mohammad. It was Mohammad who re-invented him as a primary diety when he cobbled together his "religion" out of various parts of Judaism and Christianity.

So, despite efforts to Westernize his name, his thoughts and biases disclose his agenda. A Middle-Eastern liberal conducting a personal attack on someone who speaks the truth in straightforward language.

See - two can play the same game.

Why does the US always have to be the one to "stop the slaughter?" And what, exactly, is our plan for stopping it, if we do attack Syria? Will dropping a few bombs stop it? Or will it just add to the death count? I am not totally opposed to US intervention, but I want to know what the goal is and how we expect to achieve before I get on board.

As a young whippersnapper educated by Dominican sisters, I was taught to spell the name of God with a capital G. As for allah, spell it with a small g. A god of evil, hate and death. Not the same God Christians and Jews worship and glorify. So, Sarah´s right...let allah sort it out. Nothing offensive there.

"...there is a possibility that Palin believes that Muslims worship a different God than Christians and Jews. If she does, is she´s actually saying that we should sit back and revel in watching Muslims slaughter each other?" I know muslims worship a different god. God the Father gives us Free Will, above all. That is the answer to why evil exists in the world. Muslims believe in forced conversion, slavery, blood and death, with no concept of Free Will. Is this guy so stupid that he actually believes they are the same? Why do so many unbelieving liberals think they know God and His Son, if they mention "compassion" and "love."

#10, the first usage of ´kill them all, God will know His own´ is found in the midst of the French Religious Wars of the mid 1500s ~ between the French Huguenots (the Protestants) and the French D´Guise faction (the Catholics)

There are citations on both sides demonstrating they said it about each other.

At least one fellow may well have said it before the Protestant Reformation!

The First, Second AND Third amendments to our own Constitution have a major tie in with that period of French history. I know there are those who imagine the Third is about George III, but it´s really about Louis XIV who used the Dragonettes Orders to place soldiers in the homes of Huguenots to coerce them into giving up their rights under the Edict of Nantes. The First and Second ARE the Edict ~ although a bit more expansively stated.

The English Filter in effect in this countr prevents Americans from understanding American history in light of French influence!

#10 -- As #38 implies, the saying goes back even further. Another three centuries, in fact, to the 20 years of the Albigensian “crusade” in southern France in the early 13th century.

Short form: Pope Innocent III and two successive French kings (Philippe II and Louis VIII) joined together, quite successfully, to crush the gnostic-flavored Christian Cathar sect. As the story goes, the papal legate was asked by one of the military leaders how to tell the difference between Cathars and loyal Catholic Christians. His answer, “Caedite eos. Novit enim Dominus qui sunt eius,” is customarily translated as “Kill them all – the Lord will know which ones are his.”

The sentiment has endured over the years, all the way down to "Kill ´em all -- let God sort it out."

And, not to be picky, but this era is my historical turf... Although it was indeed Louis XIV, the "Sun King," who, in the 1680s, instituted the policy of the Dragonnades (note, not "Dragonettes") against the Protestant Huguenots -- reconvert, or leave France were their options -- the Guerres de religion had effectively been ended by Louis´ granddad, Henri IV, with the Edict of Nantes in 1598. J´ai dit.

One more footnote, then I’ll pipe down: A member of the De Guise family mentioned by #38 played a notable role in British history. Marie de Guise, Duchesse de Longueville, became the second wife of James V of Scotland, and served as regent for her daughter Mary Stuart, who later became queen. Yes, that Mary, who would not, could not stop plotting against her royal cousin, Elizabeth Tudor, and who lost her head for it, but not before inspiring a durable nursery rhyme:

Mary, Mary, quite contrary
How does your garden grow?
With silver bells and cockle shells,
And pretty maids all in a row.

Several elements of his comments were misleading: (1) At first blush, the 35 percent stat is both significant and impressive.
