Who are the two happiest people in the world this week? Bashar Assad and Jimmy Carter. One week ago, Assad was a war criminal awaiting certain retaliation from the most powerful military force the world has ever known; and Jimmy Carter still owned the title “Worst President Ever.” Not anymore. Whatever keeps a brutal dictator like Assad up at night (fear of another dinner invitation from the Kerrys, perhaps?), it’s certainly not Barack Obama. America’s commander in chief has made it abundantly clear that he won’t support any military action vigorous enough to cause a Damascus traffic jam. The Los Angeles Times quotes a U.S.
Look at what happened in Libya. Billions of dollars in ordnance used to get rid of Colonel K and the new and improved government killed the American ambassador and burned the embassy. ØDumbø foreign and domestic policy consists of finding ways to blame someone else for his failures. I want to stand up for Jimmy Carter. At least he was an American.
When everything seems to be going wrong, I try to figure out what God (the Judeo/Christian God I believe in) is trying to tell us. Most Christians believe that God gave man free will,(per dictionary: the doctrine that the conduct of human beings expresses personal choice and is not simply determined by physical or driving forces.).
Therefore, it´s rather humorous (picture God shaking his head) that so many prayers are spoken for Him to clean up the mess man made for himself.
As Obama´s tenure is becoming more and more exasperating, we must remember that man (America´s people) made the choice for Obama to be our leader, despite his lack of demonstrated skills to hold the office. More importantly, these same people turned a blind eye to the requirement that a potential leader show proof that he is unequivocally eligible to hold the office as required by the highest law of our land.
If God gave man free will, then how can we expect Him to intervene when we made the choice for Obama to be our leader?
Remember when mom or dad told you not to hang around with certain people because they are trouble makers? And when those warned-about trouble makers got themselves into trouble and you, luckily, weren´t involved - a big, valuable lesson was learned that mom and dad were right.
Isn´t it funny that after breaking so many of our laws, Obama is now using the law to deflect any negative outcome of a decision he might make? Well, there is a safety valve built into our law. It is called impeachment, and I believe it was put there by people like our moms and dads who warned us about trouble makers.
# 9 which is why the Congress should deny him the power for a police action in Syria. When he goes over their heads this will be a specific ground for impeachment. The other scandals (Benghazi, IRS, et al.) can be folded in during the discovery/deposition stage of the proceedings.
As he now tries to stumble and mumble through his press conference in Sweden.. he is saying he didnt draw the red line... someone else did that! Im weary of this inept person. He is trying so hard to draw the world and the UN into this to cover his backside. I can´t even imagine how our military leaders must feel right now.
Stamping out fires: Looks like Axelrod is hard at work trying to erase that red line off his boss´s rhetoric. Best to put that red line on everyone else´s shoulders, the Congress, the world.
Then there is the little matter of Obama´s credibility. That accusation kept cropping up and had to be addressed. For this, Axelrod (though who knows, maybe it´s Jarrett´s advice) Obama openly states his credibility is not on the line. (Denial is good and sometimes works.)
The fact that Odumbdumb consulted with campaign advisors, among others, about what to do with Syria says it all. He´s not a leader, he´s a political hack who puts partisan considerations before all else. He is unfit for the office.
What a country. Juan McLame playing poker on his phone during Syria hearings. Too boring to pay attention he says. Prezidint OhBomba claiming it is the world that drew that pesky red line. The Kerry´s planning the next dinner party with the Assads. Hillary claiming ignorance. Billy Jefferson pushing Ocare. Republicans being demonized and blamed for everything. Just another day in the fundamental transformation of this country. God save us please.
#18 - there is so much to add - but everything stems from "transformation of America". I couldn´t read Atlas Shrugged for the literary reason, but I admire Ayn Rand for her insight. She figured all of it when there were not that many signs of what´s coming. And her Soviet experience was minimal. Again, that what geniuses do - they look ahead and see clearly what´s there. But the stupid, unwashed couldn´t see it after 4 years of obozo´s regime! Although, I need to stipulate, with opposition like mccain, romney, boehner, preibus you could say unwashed didn´t have much of a choice.
Monsieur Jon Fraud Gigilo Goodhair Metrosexual Kerry, the Not-so-Swift-Boat, Medal-Tossing, Flip-Flopping, Self-Absorbed Politically Correct Easter Island model (with Churchill Downs syndrome), currently living off his second wife´s first husband´s fortune, said today: “With respect to Arab countries offering to bear costs and to assess, the answer is profoundly yes, they have.

It was November 12th. His wife was on the phone and she was reading an email that she had just received from her boss at Sallie Zetterower Elementary School in Statesboro, Ga. “As of today, if you have a Bible verse on your school email and/or Bible verse posted in the classroom, please remove it immediately,” the email read. But it was the next part of the email that made Mr. Cook tremble. “If a student-led prayer is initiated, you must remove yourself and step away from the group,” the email read. Mr. Cook told me in a telephone interview that he was dumbfounded. “They have to physically turn their back
(Anchorage) In the three weeks since the U.S. Indian Law & Order Commission chastised Alaska for opposing Natives who want their own village cops and courts, chairman Troy Eid says he´s been called a radical and an outsider who shouldn´t be sticking his nose where it doesn´t belong. Eid swept aside such criticism Wednesday when the commission officially presented its report in Anchorage. He declared that Alaska "was on the wrong track" and that public safety and security were so bad in rural Alaska, especially for women and children, that it had become a national disgrace. Continued global warming poses a risk of rapid, drastic changes in some human and natural systems, a scientific panel warned Tuesday, citing the possible collapse of polar sea ice, the potential for a mass extinction of plant and animal life and the threat of immense dead zones in the ocean. At the same time, some worst-case fears about climate change that have entered the popular imagination can be ruled out as unlikely, at least over the next century, the panel found. These include a sudden belch of methane from the ocean or the Arctic that would fry the planet, as
For as long as anyone can remember, teachers at Brooklet Elementary School have posted Christmas cards in the hallways outside their classrooms – until Monday. When boys and girls returned from Thanksgiving break, they discovered that their teachers’ Christmas cards had been removed – under orders from the Georgia school’s administration. Robb Kicklighter’s wife is a third grade teacher at the school. He said many teachers are disgruntled by the school’s decision to confiscate the Christmas cards. “They took down the cards so the kids can’t see them,” he told me. “Some of the cards had the word ‘Christmas’ and
A stunning 40 percent of the staff at the state agency that oversees the glitch-plagued, befuddling $69 million Obamacare website earn six-figure salaries, according to payroll numbers obtained by the Herald. Some 21 of the 53 employees at the Massachusetts Health Connector make more than $100,000 a year, even as Bay Staters struggle to sign up for health care through a website beset by slow speeds and technical difficulties and a call center with frequently long hold times. Topping the list is Executive Director Jean Yang, who is pulling down $179,243. Chief Operating Officer Roni Mansu earns $178,415, while General
Washington - US President Barack Obama called Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu on Sunday from Air Force One to discuss the interim agreement struck between world powers and Iran over its controversial nuclear program. In the call, Obama told Netanyahu that the P5+1 — the US, United Kingdom, France, Russia, China and Germany — would use the next several months to forge a "lasting, peaceful and comprehensive" solution to the slow-motion nuclear crisis causing consternation throughout the Middle East. (Snip) Netanyahu on Sunday called the deal, hailed by the US, a "historic mistake" that would make the region more
The state’s $69 million Obamacare website is “overbudget,” has missed deadlines and now is bringing in eleventh-hour engineering assistance from Oracle, in the face of looming cutoff dates that could force some to go without health insurance, the Herald has learned. The fix comes after the Herald reported Saturday a mere 1 percent of applicants facing canceled health plans had managed to enroll in Obamacare plans through the state’s website, with just weeks before many plans ?expire Dec. 31. Gov. Deval Patrick yesterday brushed off any concerns about the system. “No, none at all,” said Patrick when asked if he
OTTAWA — Canada’s top court today begins hearing arguments in a historic case that will determine how — or if — the much-maligned, scandal-plagued Senate can be reformed or abolished. Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s government has asked the Supreme Court to advise whether it can proceed unilaterally to impose term limits on senators and create a process for electing them. It has also asked the court to determine whether outright abolition of the upper chamber could be accomplished with the approval of just seven provinces, representing 50 per cent of the population. The vast majority of provinces argue that the constitutional hurdles should
In April 2012, Iran announced that it had uncovered a spy ring numbering 15 operatives working at the behest of Israel. Iranian authorities fingered the operatives as being responsible for the killings of nuclear scientists in recent years. Tehran had long suspected the Mossad as the mastermind of these operations. In announcing the arrests, Iran touted the apprehension of “Zionist spies” and the revelations regarding “Zionist” intelligence activity in a neighboring country. The announcement, which didn’t garner much attention at the time, takes on added importance Thursday just hours after The Washington Post reported that Turkish intelligence revealed the identities of
Srtaten Island - Cardinal Timothy Dolan will celebrate mass Sunday at St. Joseph Hill Academy in Staten Island, where a suspicious fire broke out Saturday morning. Dolan´s visit is part of a previously planned event to mark the 100th anniversary of the Daughters of Divine Charity. The NYPD Hate Crime Task Force is investigating the blaze, which broke out at about 5:30 a.m. at the convent on Hylan Boulevard in the Arrochar section. Six people were injured, including four firefighters and two nuns. One of the nuns, age 45, jumped from a second-floor window to escape the fire,
WASHINGTON -- The crabbers are getting, well, crabby. With the offices of the National Marine Fisheries Service closed because of the federal government shutdown, fishermen have been unable to get permits for the Alaska king crab season, which begins Tuesday. "Instead of a fiscal cliff, right now we´re facing a fishing cliff in the Bering Sea unless Congress acts before the season is scheduled to start on Oct. 15," said Rep. Suzan DelBene, a Democrat from Washington state. "This is the first time in my 28 years of fishing that I haven´t been in the Bering Sea in October getting ready to go
She’s reportedly waiting until 2014 before she starts thinking about 2016, but Hillary Clinton, according to one national poll, is your front runner for the White House — by a wide margin. And Elizabeth Warren is your fastest rising star. The former secretary of state and first lady dominated last week’s new Quinnipiac University survey, which showed her gobbling up 61 percent of support and beating any Republican challenger — be it New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, Kentucky U.S. Sen. Rand Paul or Texas U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz — by anywhere from 13 to 23 points. But no one in Headline corrected by Staff.
When I was a kid, I knew two different Santa Clauses. The first had a fat belly, rosy cheeks, a long white beard, and skin as pink as bubble gum. He was omnipresent, visiting my pre-school and the local mall, visible in all of my favorite Christmas specials. Then there was the Santa in my family’s household, in the form of ornaments, cards, and holiday figurines. A near-carbon copy of the first one—big belly, rosy cheeks, long white beard: check, check, check. But his skin was as dark as mine. Seeing two different Santas was bewildering. Eventually I asked my father what
US President Barack Obama may have moved the masses attending Nelson Mandela’s memorial service with his stirring eulogy, but it was his grinning "selfie" with the Danish and British premiers that set social networks abuzz. In a candid moment captured by a photographer, Denmark’s Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt can be seen holding up her smartphone, with Obama lending a helping hand, as they pose for a picture with David Cameron, all three of them smiling broadly in their seats at Soweto’s World Cup stadium.(Snip)Mashable, the news and technology website, ran the photograph under the headline: ‘‘Dear Obama: Funerals are no place
Johannesburg - A man who provided sign language interpretation on stage for Nelson Mandela´s memorial service, attended by scores of heads of state, was a "fake," the national director of the Deaf Federation of South Africa said on Tuesday. Asked about the claim by The Associated Press, South Africa´s government said it was preparing a statement. Three sign language experts said the man was not signing in South African or American sign languages. South African sign language covers all of the country´s 11 official languages, according to the federation. It wasn´t immediately clear if the unidentified man was using a
On his way to the podium at the memorial ceremony for former South African president Nelson Mandela, President Obama walked down the line of dignitaries, greeting other leaders there to pay their respects. Among the hands shaken: that of Cuban leader Raul Castro. Obama neither made a special effort to shake Castro’s hand nor to avoid him. A snub might have been awkward: In his speech, Obama praised Mandela’s “greatest gift” as “his recognition that we are all bound together in ways that can be invisible to the eye; that there is a oneness to humanity; that we achieve ourselves by
House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) snapped at conservative groups that have come out in opposition to the budget deal reached Wednesday between Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) and Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.). "They´re using the American people for their own purposes. This is ridiculous," Boehner said at a press conference with other members of House Republican leadership on Wednesday. Over the past few days, a number of conservative groups have blasted the deal because it sets discretionary spending levels in the budget higher than previous levels under sequestration. In the past three days, the influential Heritage Action, Club for Growth, Americans
The Obama State Department has finally released a second round of photos revealing the harrowing devastation wrought by a terrorist attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi on Sept. 11, 2012. The new photographs depict rampant damage to the consulate. They show charred walls, smoldering fires, Arabic graffiti defacing exterior walls, and scattered debris throughout. The extent of the damage would lead any reasonably serious person to conclude that this was a cold, calculated attack, carefully coordinated to mark the 11th anniversary of Sept. 11, 2001. Unfortunately for the American people, the Obama-Clinton-Rice cabal that led to the Benghazi cover-up was
A black fashion student says he was brutally attacked by a gang of Hasidic men who shouted anti-gay slurs at him while he was walking through Williamsburg after a night of partying, the Daily News has learned. Taj Patterson, 22, was headed home to Fort Greene around 4:30 a.m. on Dec. 1 when he says more than a dozen ultra-Orthodox Jewish men began assaulting him on Flushing Ave. and yelling, “Stay down, f----t!”
A “presidential selfie” featuring President Barack Obama, British Prime Minister David Cameron, and Denmark’s Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt at Nelson Mandela’s memorial service began making the rounds this morning, but it’s the person not included in the frame who caught everyone’s attention: As anyone with two eyes and a Twitter account has noticed, Michelle Obama does not appear amused. Of course, though a picture says a thousand words, not all of those words are necessarily true. FLOTUS might not have even known the photo was taking place. Or she could disapprove of funeral selfies. Either way.
President Obama’s job approval among American voters has dropped to negative territory with just 38 percent voicing their approval versus the 58 who says they disapprove, according to a national poll released Tuesday by the independent Quinnipiac University. That is one percent less than the 39% who said they approved of him in last month’s poll. The majority of the 2,692 registered voters the University in early December said that the president is not honest and trustworthy. When asked, “Do you approve or disapprove of the way Barack Obama is handling his job as President?,” respondents gave Obama lackluster ratings
Looks like this president can’t get away with flirting in front of his wife… It appears that first lady Michelle Obama was none too pleased with the way that President Barack Obama was acting toward Denmark Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt during a ceremony honoring Nelson Mandela, and before too long, they switched seats. Barack Obama has arrived in South Africa to lead the American delegation at a memorial service for former South African President Nelson Mandela in Johannesburg. But his party is reportedly stuck in traffic and he is said to have arrived late at the stadium for the ceremony. The sign language interpreter at Nelson Mandela´s memorial yesterday "made up his own signs," according to South Africa´s deaf federation. "He´s a complete fraud," Cara Loening, director of Sign Language Education and Development in Cape Town, said according to ITV News. "He wasn´t even doing anything, There was not one sign there. Nothing. He was literally flapping his arms around." Delphin Hlungwane, an official South African sign language interpreter at DeafSA, told Reuters:
