In an appearance on Sean Hannity’s radio show Friday, hosted by fill-in host Texas Republican Rep. Louie Gohmert, the head of the union representing the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents called on Congress to investigate the administration’s immigration policies. “With regard to our government in general, I mean right now, that’s our problem with our immigration system,” National ICE Council President Chris Crane said. “[The problem] is not our immigration system, it’s our government, and it’s the ability of a president of the United States to ignore the laws enacted by Congress.” “And it doesn’t matter what type of legislation we
Republic only works with " moral leaders" Obama´s refusal to enforce existing law reinforces John Adams warning. Crane and the ICE agent union are brave men exposing this Hitler in waiting. Obama went golfing with Biden after his Syria Speech - Dumb and Dumber With iranian born communist VAL JAR as POTUS. Is the fraud going to be held to account? Never forget Benghazi. Who will be left behind next time?
Oh no...tell me it isn´t so! Obama is acting like a dictator and the Congress is allowing him to do so...who would have thought it...this didn´t begin yesterday, this Muslim loving Liberal has been at it since day one with the Media kissing his posterior every step of the way and allowing him to do so without a negative comment. No that Frankenstein is alive and walking amongst us they can´t criticize without making them look more stupid. The beat goes on...
If there is one thing that illegal aliens are experts at making it is children. So when you tell the immigration authorities, as Obama did the other day, that they can no longer arrest or remove illegal aliens who claim to have children, you are undermining the enforcement of the immigration laws and are encouraging prospective illegal aliens to either bring or smuggle their foreign born children into the USA as essentially human shields from future arrest and deportation.
“Texas teen Ethan Couch gets 10 years’ probation for driving drunk, killing 4,” CNN reported yesterday: To the families of the victims, Ethan Couch was a killer on the road, a drunken teenage driver who caused a crash that left four people dead. To the defense, the youth is himself a victim — of “affluenza,” according to one psychologist — the product of wealthy, privileged parents who never set limits for the boy. To a judge, who sentenced Couch to 10 years’ probation but no jail time, he’s a defendant in need of treatment. The decision disappointed prosecutors and stunned
UNITED NATIONS – Iran says it has no knowledge of the whereabouts of retired FBI agent Robert Levinson, who U.S. authorities have long presumed had been captured there. In a statement to The Associated Press on Saturday, Iranian press counselor at the United Nations, Alireza Miryusefi, called on the U.S. government to explain Levinson´s mission in Iranian territory, after an AP investigation revealed that he had been on an unauthorized assignment for the CIA when he vanished on Iran´s Kish Island in March 2007. Asked about the AP investigation published Thursday, Miryusefi said in an email to the AP that, "Actually the
Mike Huckabee is talking plenty about a potential 2016 presidential run, but is anyone still listening? The former governor of Arkansas admitted he´s "keeping the door open" to seeking a nomination, telling the New York Times on Thursday that he´s "mindful of the fact that there´s a real opportunity for me." Opportunity seems to be the big question in a Republican field that already seems to be packed with potentials like New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, and senators Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio. Though Huckabee´s name hasn´t come up in 2016 conversation, Republican strategist Matt Mackiowiak told ABC News he could be "undervalued
TOKYO -- Japan is incapable of safely decommissioning the devastated Fukushima nuclear plant alone and must stitch together an international team for the massive undertaking, experts say, but has made only halting progress in that direction. Unlike the U.S. and some European countries, Japan has never decommissioned a full-fledged reactor. Now it must do so at the Fukushima Dai-Ichi plant. Three of its six reactors melted down after the 2011 earthquake and tsunami, making what is ordinarily a technically challenging operation even more complex. The cloud over Japan´s capacity to get the decades-long job done has further undermined the image of the
The junior senator’s blatant pandering in bashing the budget deal shows the shameless lengths he will go to get back into the GOP base’s good graces. Let’s give it up for Marco Rubio! After months of getting his butt whipped in the rabid-obstructionism department by Ted Cruz, the junior senator from Florida emerged the hands-down winner in the race to trash the Murray-Ryan budget deal. The entire political chattering class expressed awe this week at just how quickly Rubio’s team pushed out his “this deal sucks” statement. It was as though some poor staffer had been assigned to sit around 24-7
Armstrong spoke with veteran journalist Joe Lindsey of Bicycling magazine in his Austin, Texas, home for almost two hours. We´re running the full transcript from that conversation at Armstrong´s request. Joe Lindsey: What´s life like for you these days? Lance Armstrong: It´s obviously changed drastically. I´m talking more from a scheduling standpoint. Twelve months ago, 15 months ago, things were pretty hectic, busy. I was working full time on the [Livestrong] foundation, working full time competing in Ironmans and the training, the travel, sponsor obligations, etc. That took up a lot of time, and now, seemingly, almost overnight that vanished. So
Every time you read a news story, column, or commentary about Obamacare that begins, “Now that the web site is fixed” or “Now that the site is working,” laugh a bit. They’re using “not crashing for users” as a synonym for “fixed” or “working,” but there’s a lot more that the site has to do — and it still isn’t. Today’s Washington Post features Julie Bataille of the Department of Health and Human Services’ Centers on Medicare and Medicaid Services, explaining that the computer system is still not working correctly for administrators who need to process paper applications. First she states that some
Oppressive regimes throughout history have built cities of false facades meant to impress from afar, concealing the embarrassing condition of the places. In its quest to persuade Americans that Obamacare is working, the Obama administration has built the most expensive Potemkin website yet. Rep. Darrell E. Issa, chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, wants to bulldoze the facade of Healthcare.gov to find what lies beneath, but Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius is telling her aides they better keep quiet, or else. In a Dec. 6 letter to Creative Computing Solutions, she instructed the
President Obama lives an extravagant life of which the kings of old could only dream — and all at the taxpayers’ expense. According to the Congressional Research Service, it costs $180,000 an hour to operate Air Force One. This means that President Obama’s recent trip to South Africa to attend Nelson Mandela’s funeral cost the American taxpayer $5 million in airfare alone. The president’s security detail, which includes Secret Service agents, along with all their equipment and armored vehicles, is transported onboard the Air Force’s massive C-17 cargo planes. At $24,000 an hour, a C-17 is a bargain compared to the President’s Boeing 747.
It’s a testament to how powerful the fired executive director of the Republican Study Committee, Paul Teller, was that it took a lobbying campaign by his boss, Representative Steve Scalise, to fire his own aide. (Snip) Several sources familiar with the matter say Teller’s fateful final act as executive director was whipping the conservative outside groups against Representative Paul Ryan’s budget deal before the details of the deal had been announced or the RSC had taken a position. But the tension had been building for a long time. Scalise and other members chafed when the outside groups kept getting wind of what had happened at
There was a time when the Heisman Trophy winner could not get recognized in New York City. Such was the predicament for Roger Staubach 50 years ago when the quarterback became the second player in Navy history to capture college football’s most prestigious individual honor. Then a junior, Staubach was in Manhattan for the award ceremony, and one evening he and teammate Tom Lynch decided they would visit the Playboy Club. The iconic members-only establishment required a special key for entry, but this was Time magazine cover boy Roger Staubach, so Lynch figured it wouldn’t be a problem. Staubach borrowed civilian clothes, including
The “reality-based community” isn’t what it used to be. Progressives spent much of the George W. Bush years deriding the right for disdaining reality itself and waging an associated “war on science,” such was its purported hostility to evidence. The meme arose from a high-handed blind quote from a Bush senior adviser to journalist Ron Suskind; the adviser said that people in the “reality-based community” underestimated how the United States could alter the state of things through the exercise of its power. The left happily adopted the appellation “reality-based community.” (You can still find T-shirts and bumper stickers online.) It congratulated
Let me begin with a categorical statement that, given current events and recent political history, can be easily defended: Barack Hussein Obama is a willful, indoctrinated child of the Left with strong Islamic sympathies who is not fit to govern. Indeed, he would not be fit to govern Lower Slobovia, let alone the United States of America. Obama is a historic disaster of the first magnitude and, if not restrained, he will see to the irrevocable decline of the country which foolishly elected him, leaving the world on the brink of a conflict — or in the midst of one — whose repercussions cannot be underestimated. Accompanying the undeniable havoc
AS his popularity plummets to historic lows and his presidential legacy is in tatters, BARACK OBAMA has suffered a shocking secret meltdown. White House insiders say the deeply depressed Commander-in-Chief is hardly eating or sleeping, hasn’t talked to First Lady Michelle, 49, in weeks and is convinced everyone hates him! “Barack is shattered that his presidency and his life are in free-fall,” says a source. “He can’t believe the American public has turned on him so viciously, mainly because of the Obamacare disaster. No one has been able to help him. “Michelle has tried everything she can to comfort him, but he just snaps,
In his 1952 book The Origins of Totalitarian Democracy, Israeli historian J. L. Talmon described a political system in which lawfully elected representatives rule a nation state whose citizens, although granted the right to vote, have little or no participation in the decision-making process of government. The federal government has become such a system, an entity unto itself operating outside of Constitutional constraints and unaccountable to the American people. The United States is now controlled by a Democratic and Republican ruling class that transcends government and sees itself as distinct from the rest of society and as the only element that may
Early news reports have identified the Arapahoe High School gunman as Karl Halverson Pierson, an 18-year-old student. Pierson is believed to be responsible for wounding one other student before shooting and killing himself with a shotgun. The Denver Post reports that Pierson had "very strong political beliefs" and that one Facebook post he authored tore into Republicans as political party that wanted to let people die: "[Y]ou republicans are so cute" and posting an image that reads: "The Republican Party: Health Care: Let ´em Die, Climate Change: Let ´em Die, Gun Violence: Let ´em Die, Women´s Rights: Let ´em Die,
The parents of Trayvon Martin met with publishers this week to shop a book about their son, the unarmed black teenager who was shot and killed in Florida in 2012. According to two publishing executives who participated in meetings, Mr. Martin’s parents, Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin, said they intended to write a book that gives the full picture of their son while tracing their own experience of shock and sorrow. The meetings were described as somber and moving by publishers who were present. Ms. Fulton and Mr. Martin were accompanied by Jan Miller, their Dallas-based literary agent. One publishing executive said Mr.
In a game-changer for the legal fight over same-sex marriage that gives credence to opponents’ “slippery slope” arguments, a federal judge has now ruled that the legal reasoning for same-sex marriage means that laws against polygamy are likewise unconstitutional. In his 91-page opinion in Brown v. Buhman, on Dec. 13, U.S. District Judge Clark Waddoups struck down Utah’s law making polygamy a crime. In so doing, he may have opened Pandora’s Box. As a condition for becoming a state in 1896, Congress required Utah to outlaw polygamy, which is marriage between three or more persons. This case involved a family of
Former Arkansas Governor and Fox News Channel host Mike Huckabee weighed in on the escalating feud between establishment Republican politicians and conservative activist groups on Saturday. Asked for his thoughts on House Speaker John Boehner’s (R-OH) admonition of the idealized purism advocated by some outside groups, Huckabee sympathized with Boehner saying that governing is more difficult than activism and “politics is not theology.” Huckabee began by saying that Boehner was not scolding the tea party movement but conservative groups that capitalize on that movement. He added that some of those groups appear to have an “all or nothing mindset” and that
What we know: Racism has left a vast legacy of violence. Bigotry in America has marginalized a diverse range of minority culture. It dashes the hopes of children. What we didn´t know: Bias based on race costs the United States a shade under $2 trillion a year. (Snip) Addressing factors such as health care inequities, unjustified incarceration disparities, and lesser employment and education opportunities would generate 12 percent more annual U.S. earnings, the study found. Among the more striking findings cited are a U.S. Department of Commerce study estimating that minority purchasing power would increase from $4.3 trillion to $6.1
The United States named a new Full Admiral in Washington, D.C. Friday--and it´s an African American woman. She´s will be the first ever female in Naval history to win a fourth star assuming the Senate approves President Obama´s nomination. The Navy announced her nomination in an official release. Vice admiral Michelle Howard,53, is currently the deputy chief of naval operations, plans, and strategy. She will serve as the Navy´s second ranking officer, (Snip) Although when asked about whether she faces racism within the service she responded, ´Sexism within the service, and racism outside the service.´
Republicans in Congress have a general "disrespect" for women that´s reflected in their legislative agenda, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi charged Friday, adding that she applauds the prospect of America having its first female president. [WATCH VIDEO] The California Democrat said the GOP´s policy priorities — from reproductive health to the economy to the environment — are evidence they have little concern for the issues women care the most about. "[It´s] disrespect," Pelosi said in an interview with MSNBC´s Alex Wagner that aired Friday afternoon. "Whether it´s pay equity and raising the minimum wage, whether it´s paid sick leave, or whether
HOUSTON – The Houston school district board has given preliminary approval to a new policy that would prohibit offensive or culturally insensitive mascots. The new policy calls on schools to show respect and cultural sensitivity in nicknames and mascots. The use of any race or ethnic group will be prohibited, the Houston Chronicle reported. (Snip) While the new policy does not refer to specific nicknames or types of mascot, the school district has said that three campuses — the Lamar High School Redskins, Hamilton Middle School Indians and Welch Middle School Warriors — would be affected. A fourth school, Westbury High,
WASHINGTON — CIA officers revealed a clash over how quickly they should go help the besieged U.S. ambassador during the 2012 attack on an outpost in Libya, and a standing order for them to avoid violent encounters, according to a congressman and others who heard their private congressional testimony or were briefed on it. The Obama administration has been dogged by complaints that the White House, Pentagon and State Department may not have done enough before and during the attack to save U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens and three others, and by accusations that it later engaged in a cover-up. One allegation was
