Shamed Into War

Having leaked to the world, and thus to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, a detailed briefing of the coming U.S. air attack on Syria — (1) the source (offshore warships and perhaps a bomber or two), (2) the weapon (cruise missiles), (3) the duration (two or three days), (4) the purpose (punishment, not “regime change”) — perhaps we should be publishing the exact time the bombs will fall, lest we disrupt dinner in Damascus. So much for the element of surprise. Into his third year of dithering, two years after declaring Assad had to go, one year after drawing — then erasing

Like any good narcissist, they always think they are right. When proven wrong, they place the blame elsewhere. This will be no different. Unfortunately, since the narcissist is the President of the United States, WWIII may erupt. Since that wasn´t Obama´s intention, he will bear no responsibility. Easy peasy...Keep Calm and Carry On.

The only possible excuse for supporting Obama in this proposed misstep is that it might avoid the inevitable escalation of rationalizations for subsidizing our enemies. The next step will probably be worse.
Obama isn´t "shamed" into or out of anything. He is shameless.

National defense, war and foreign policy are just not within Democrat skill sets. Hillary was a disaster as SoS and Obama is too as POTUS. When does this nightmare end? Perhaps it´s time for a coup in the U.S.

We´ve gone from incontrovertible evidence that Assad´s forces used the gas to ... we´re not sure who did it.

Apparently Biden and Kerry don´t know what they´re talking about, which fits perfectly with Obama´s ill-conceived, puerile decision making.

I bet Obama walks back from his redline again, citing that nobody knows who did it.

He´s playing Clue again, without a clue.

The White House has blundered into this situation and has no good policy option. Unless prepared for full out hostilities with Iran, they should stand down. This would demonstrate a complete lack of credibility, but it´s better to look foolish than to act foolish.

Otherwise, just send Assad a text message. You might incur a roaming charge, but it’s still cheaper than a three-day, highly telegraphed, perfectly useless demonstration strike.

Bada bing!

If you are going to do this, Mr. President, do it constitutionally. And seriously. This is not about you and your conscience.

The good doctor gives him too much credit for having a conscience to begin with. Further, today´s pronouncement from on high saying that the US may move against Syria without the UK´s help is more proof that whatever Obama does do, he will do it to stick it to the UK or to make himself actually look like the CIC he isn´t.

Too bad Obama likes to play mind games with human lives, just as he did in Benghazi, simply to avoid cheesing off his base.

That bust of Churchill he returned as his first snub to the UK must still be sticking in his craw. The man is a walking pin-cushion, still smarting from old conflicts and insecurities.

It isn´t shame, it´s ridicule. BO HATES to be mocked and he has set himself up with all his posturing for a major laugh at his ineptitude and ineffectiveness. Further, all his potential allies have retreated decisively from the situation, leaving him standing alone. So the focus and the decision is HIS alone and it has become a NO WIN scenario, something BO trembles in fear of. He always wants to come out polling well. In this case, he has positioned him self so it is impossible to.

Oh yeah, the press will half heartedly say there is nothing he could have done and indicate may be it was better to do nothing anyway.

But BO is being mocked as ineffective already. Poor economy, no gun control, no big environmental success, BOCare is rotting slowly and has begun to stink, immigration has stalled, Kerry´s efforts with the Israelis and Palestinians is going nowhere, the world is in chaos, and BO is on vacation playing golf.

His legacy is being flushed away. And he knows it.

Obama can do as he wishes between now and the end of his term. As far as military action is concerned, as long as Obama does not put boots on the ground as Bush did, the liberals and progressives to who he is politically allied on mostly domestic liberal and progressive policy goals will remain with him as they do not have a clue as to how the world actually works outside the US borders. Chances are the wimpy Republicans will either remain silent thus going along to get along, or will act as McCain and his handmaidens have been doing, encouraging Obama to launch a full scale military action thus starting another war.

Anyone that has any idea of how to conduct a war will know that there is only ONE objective and that is to WIN. And to win, you must achieve two objectives. One, to destroy the enemy´s ability to resist and, two, you must destroy the enemy´s will to resist. That´s what we did in WWII. And speaking of that, the only smart decision FDR made in his entire years in office was to put WWII in the hands of the generals and admirals that have the knowledge and skill to achieve the main objectives. Obozo doesn´t have the smarts to do anything like this and our current flock of generals and admirals are far too interested in advancing their careers.

I could not believe the audio clip I heard on AM news of Eleanor Holmes Norton instructing Obama to talk to Congress about his Syrian attack idea. I never agree with the liberal lady, but this time she was spot on. She even mentioned that before Iraq, there was months of discussion with Congress. Chaos might work in a Saul Alinsky book, but in reality, you eventually not only run out of other people´s money, you run out of people who trust you to do anything.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Thursday that a family of dissident ranchers and their supporters in his home state of Nevada are ´domestic terrorists,´ citing this week´s standoff with the federal government´s Bureau of Land Management. Cliven Bundy has refused to pay grazing fees for land where his hundreds of cattle roam every day. The land is owned by the federal government, which says he owes more than $1 million. Bundy, however, insists that since his family has been using the land since the 1870s, Uncle Sam can´t collect the grazing fees. A tense standoff developed this week after

To "honor the dignity and work of immigrants," Democratic House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi helps Bishop Marc Andrus wash the feet of two children Thursday at Saint John the Evangelist Episcopal Church in San Francisco. Pelosi also used the occasion to talk about passing HR15 - bipartisan immigration legislation that her office says would "reduce the deficit by nearly $1 trillion, secure our borders, unite our families, protect our workers and provide an earned pathway to citizenship." The Democratic leader´s ceremony coincides with Pope Francis´ similar ceremony in Rome to mark Holy Week.

Imagine a vendor on the National Mall, selling burgers and dogs, who hasn’t paid his rent in 20 years. He refuses to recognize his landlord, the National Park Service, as a legitimate authority. Every court has ruled against him, and fines have piled up. What’s more, the effluents from his food cart are having a detrimental effect on the spring grass in the capital. Would an armed posse come to his defense, aiming their guns at the park police? Would the lawbreaker get prime airtime on Fox News, breathless updates in the Drudge Report, a sympathetic ear from Tea Party Republicans?
