Syria crisis: America could
launch military strikes without
Britain´s support

David Cameron’s defeat in the Commons delivered a second serious embarrassment to US-UK relations, with American officials already “livid” with the British, according to Western diplomatic sources at the United Nations. But the White House made clear they would not change course in light of the Commons vote. “The President believes that there are core interests at stake for the United States, and that countries who violate international norms regarding chemical weapons need to be held accountable,” said Caitlin Hayden, a spokesman for Mr Obama’s National Security Council. US officials also said they would not be constrained by the collapse

This action is being done without the American publics support. Just who appointed the Community Organizer as King. Since when does a President have the power to start wars and kill people without the approval of Congress. This isn´t going to end well.

Impeach him or feel the wrath of the voters. That goes for both parties.

Knowing Obama´s malignant hatred for Great Britain, and we all do know it, this looks suspiciously like a deliberate stick in the eye to GB; "We don´t need your opinion or your arms. Screw off. I´ll make MY own decisions."

What a bratty child.

Obama´s arrogance and incompetence are on display for the whole world to see. Unfortunately, this may have dire consequences for us all. Republicans should make some noise on this issue and a strongly worded letter is not sufficient. If only John Boehner had the chutzpah that Ol´ Nancy possessed. She was up in Bush´s face daily. Maybe it does take a woman to do a man´s job. (Kidding...settle down. It was a joke.).

This is not going to end well. I loathe Assad deeply, but the opposition is just as bad. I can´t help but think that in the end, the small Christian population in Syria will be the victims.

#7 -- I know you were half-way kidding, but ´Ol Nancy was able to get up in the president´s face daily because she had the weight of the MSM behind her. It´s always easy to be a bully when you have other bullies backing you up. The minute Boehner pulls a Nancy, he will be labeled an "angry white man" and "bully" by the MSM and turned into a villain.

And, I know he shouldn´t care, but in order to get things done, he has to care because he has to take a different tact b/c he always has to be aware of the damage the MSM will do, not to him personally, but the policies he´s trying to advocate.

There is a way out. Obama could launch a night time raid with an amphibious landing craft. The assault craft would be loaded with "sons that would look like him" fortified with "purple drank". They would be armed with cans of spray paint, and upon landing, they would paint very insulting things in Arabic all over the place. With dawn breaking, and their hoodies up, they could cruise back to the ship and leave.

Looks like Britain has wised up to Obama since the Libyan incursion. It´s about time. Why would France want to attack Syria? That would put them on the side of Al Qaeda, whom they have been fighting. What happened to Obama´s utopian dream of One World and always going through the UN? "Rules for thee and none for me".

Obama is guilty of a kind of chemical war on US citizens with his protection of GMO foods/Monsanto. So DC needs to be attacked as well.

Right #14. Any libs that bring up that crap need to be reminded that Clinton signed the Iraqi Liberation Act, which authorized military intervention in Iraq. It´s on youtube. The US was already preparing for the Iraq war before Bush became president. A military commander, who ran a radar site in Saudi Arabia in Gulf War/1991, living in Atlanta informed me in 2006. Always point out Saddam had chemical weapons he used on the Kurds, etc so why would anyone think he didn´t have chemical weapons? Nuts! The facts defy their position.

Well you have to figure that the British are doing something right if Obama and his handmaiden Kerry are discombobulated with them. Of course all that is countered by McCain and his handmaidens who are calling for a full scale military attack against Syria thus starting another war. Then on top of all that they are reporting that the big time British and US Generals are against any sort of a military attack on Syria. G.W. Bush is probably sitting someplace in Texas with a big smirk on his face.

Somebody should tell McCain that we will go to war as long as he and Graham are literally in the front of the pack. It is easy for him to rant about this sitting on his overpaid fanny in his Congressional office.

I would be really surprised if he goes this alone. Thugs always need a pack behind them for courage don´t they? There have been plenty of examples of this over the past couple of months.

Again Obama tramples the Constitution. His power to attack unilaterally is only meant to repel an attack. Congress must DEMAND he seek approval.

Article 1, Section 8 of the Constitution says Congress shall have the power to "declare war, grant letters of marque and reprisal, and make rules concerning captures on land and water."

There is also the possibility that this is another of his diversions. The Clintons wrote the book and he read it.

Having the British there during any attack is more psychological these days, then the actual utilization of British military power that really does not exist anymore, unless you count on the British sending both of their fighter-bombers or probably one submarine that is outfitted to shoot a few ship to shore missiles which really does not add much to the US capability to shoot 95 cruise missiles from each of five navy destroyers or maybe even another 350 such missiles from the one re-built USN former boomer submarine that may be on station someplace in the Mediterranean. Resulting in a first round strike of about 850 US missiles and maybe 12 British missiles, a total that does not even count USAF capabilities.

Everyone is declaring David Cameron’s defeat in the Commons as a black eye for Cameron. It´s a black eye for 0mugabe [is that racist?]. I don´t know how our bond with Old Mother England will ever be repaired after what the Mulatto Marxist has done to it, beginning with the return of the Churchill bust.

After days if watching and watching and watching, and listening to the Talking Heads, the thing that jumped out to me this morning is an opinion by someone [I know not who] that the entire mess boils down to Sunnis vs. Shi´as --the two warring factions of Islam, and that the smart thing to do is to set back and let them have at it.

Given the fact that someday someone with danglies is going to have to straighten the mess out and make the entire region resemble Dresden in order to stop the march of Islam, letting them have at it is the right thing to do --in my opinion. Less work in the future.

This thing is not worth the risk of one American life, much less the loss of one American life.

John Effing Cary is droning on and on right now, talking about decency, decency, decency. Being a Leftist, he would know a lot about decency, huh?

The Clinton Library took the wraps off another batch of White House documents Friday afternoon, offering new insights into how aides scrambled to address the Monica Lewinsky scandal, how the hot-button issue of race tied the White House staff up in knots and how former President Bill Clinton cast a wide net for advice in advance of his major speeches. The new set of Clinton documents make little mention of then-first lady Hillary Clinton, and so are unlikely to have a major political impact. However, many of the memos were written by or mention aides to Bill Clinton who now hold

Neurosurgeon Ben Carson says the White House wanted him to apologize for “offending” President Obama after he famously delivered a conservative message at the National Prayer Breakfast last year. Carson, the former director of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital, recalls the events surrounding his 2013 speech in his new book, One Nation: What We Can All Do To Save America’s Future. The Daily Caller obtained an advance copy of the book, which is set for release May 20. “He did not appear to be hostile or angry,” Carson writes of Obama, “but within a matter of minutes after the conclusion of

President Obama inspired a generation of young people to support his historic election in 2008. And in 2012, despite the struggles of his first term, Mr. Obama still managed to win the support of a full 60% of voters age 18-29. But the man who once dreamed of being a transformative leader in the Reagan mold is inspiring few of those young people to follow his lead. "For all the talk about the movement that elected Mr. Obama, the more notable movement of Obama supporters has been away from politics. It appears that few of the young people who voted

On Saturday, I wrote about the standoff at Bundy Ranch. That post drew a remarkable amount of traffic, even though, as I wrote then, I had not quite decided what to make of the story. Since then, I have continued to study the facts and have drawn some conclusions. Here they are. First, it must be admitted that legally, Bundy doesn’t have a leg to stand on. The Bureau of Land Management has been charging him grazing fees since the early 1990s, which he has refused to pay. Further, BLM has issued orders limiting the area on which Bundy’s cows can

Megyn Kelly’s "Kelly File" is a great news show. She’s incisive, informed and customarily handles the toughest guest with aplomb. But her lengthy interview of Facebook C.O.O. Sheryl Sandberg about her second book in the Lean In series Lean In: For Graduates was a head shaker. Amazing that she of all people allowed Sandberg to restring the same old, same old, shamed, and shopworn feminist myths about women and girls and then jangle it in front of her viewing audience like something new out of the box. Indeed Kelly all but genuflected in front of this woman. Kept her on thru

Although the Civil Rights Act, the landmark legislation which just reached its 50th anniversary, made great strides in desegregating the economy, economic discrimination is still widespread, and anti-discrimination legislation alone can never rectify the economic damage inflicted upon blacks by slavery and our Jim Crow apartheid regime. The Civil Rights Act was a mild reform, all things considered, but one conservatives fought with vigor and one many conservatives are still bitter about to this day. When the Civil Rights Act passed in 1964, the primary purpose was to root out discrimination in public accommodations (like hotels and movie theaters)

Toddlers show racial bias when picking playmates, a study reveals. They also take account of how fairly others behave. Researchers tested the reaction of white 15-month-olds as toys were distributed. Two white adults divided the toys, one equally and the other unequally. Seventy per cent of the toddlers chose to play with the researcher who distributed the toys fairly. But in a second test, when one researcher favoured a white recipient over an Asian one, they picked the ‘fair’ researcher less often, the journal Frontiers in Psychology reports. And the babies are more likely to help those who share the same ethnicity, which is known as

Less than a minute into his speech at the Boston marathon bombing memorial on Tuesday, Vice President Joe Biden went tragically off script and told the crowd of Boston bombing survivors that "it was worth it." After expressing how impressed he was with the tribute, he said somberly, "let me say to those ´quote survivors,´ my God, you have survived and you have soared. It was worth it. I mean this sincerely - just to hear each of you speak. You´re truly, truly inspiring." The audience sat in stunned silence until Biden declared, "I´ve never heard anything so beautiful than

Hank Aaron’s recent comments about the need for America to realize that racism is still very much alive and thriving — only now due to those who wear “neckties and starched shirts” rather than KKK hoods — has sparked an angry backlash and many fans are turning the tables, calling the baseball legend himself a racist. “Hank Aaron is a s*****g piece of [expletive] [racial slur],” one man said in an email to the Atlanta Braves’ front office, one of the teams Mr. Aaron used to play for, CBS News reported. “My old man instilled in my mind from a

Western Washington University sent a questionnaire to students asking them for advice on how the administration could succeed at making sure that in future years, “we are not as white as we are today.” The question notes that WWU’s racial make up does not perfectly reflect the nation at large, and asks students to consider strategies that other universities have used to focus on skin color as the paramount indicator of a student-applicant’s worth. The president of WWU has stated that his explicit goal is to reduce the white population on campus, according to Campus Reform. “I’ve said before and I’ll say it

Funny question in the headline, yes? But since President Obama worries more about the threat of terrorists´ improvised nuclear device going off in a major American city than anything Russia can throw at us, I was wondering if the government had deigned to share with us citizens any tips for, you know, surviving something their own intelligence points to as the likeliest unlikely Black Swan event. Well, no. And yes. No — very few people in Washington, D.C., who work for the government have any idea what they would do if a 10-kiloton nuclear device exploded at the intersection of 16th and K

Casual marijuana use may come with some not-so-casual side effects. For the first time ever, researchers at Northwestern University have analyzed the relationship between casual use of marijuana and brain changes – and found that young adults who used cannabis just once or twice a week showed significant abnormalities in two important brain structures. The study’s findings, to be published Wednesday in the Journal of Neuroscience, are similar to those of past research linking chronic, long-term marijuana use with mental illness and changes in brain development. Dr. Hans Breiter, co-senior study author, said he was inspired to look at the effects of casual

When President Obama needed a preacher to fulfill the closing prayer duties at the annual White House Easter Prayer Breakfast, he turned to none other than the Episcopal Church’s first openly gay bishop — who said he was as shocked as anyone at the appointment. The Right Rev. Gene Robinson said in a tweet, accompanied by a photo of Mr. Obama behind a podium at the event: “POTUS ‘preaches’ at the Easter prayer breakfast. Then, out of the blue, asks ME to close with prayer. OMG!” Newsmax said he also emphasized that the words he chose to close the breakfast
