Putin nursing grudge

Hot Air, by Ed Morrissey

This got buried in a New York Times report on Russian resignation over a retaliatory attack from the West on Syria, but it should get a little more attention. Barack Obama lashed out at Vladimir Putin after Russia offered Edward Snowden asylum by publicly ridiculing Putin as having the look of a slacker — and Putin hasn’t forgiven him: The crisis has added fuel to an anti-American sentiment – and to a lesser degree anti-Western sentiment – that had already become a refrain of Mr. Putin’s return to the presidency in 2012. The point is driven home over and over by proxy

Obama seems to enjoy belittling people. He did it to Senator Ryan he did it to the SCOTUS and he did it to Joe the plumber.
Putin (former KGB) does not forget.

Ol´ Pooty-Poot is already dreaming of some old-school KGB ´persuasion´ methods to try out on Barack, given the chance.

Expect more Tu-142 and Tu-95H Bear flights near the Alaska border from now on, luring up some F-22s so the Russkies can get some intelligence on their radar systems.

The little war continues, but now the effort by the Paulistas is to simply cover up the fact that they fell for Snowden´s story that he was a good guy.

Seriously, some of the more well known traditional Conservative sites made a decided TURN TO THE LEFT on that particular scandal and ended up displaying obeisance to a Chicom/Soviet-residual-interest semi-commercial spy!

Not everybody who claims he´s a Constitutionalist is, in fact, a Constitutionalis ~ some of them are working for the other side ~ as is Obama and that crowd.

I think I was among the first to warn of infiltration by what was initially called The Obama Truth Squad some time back. They were part of the 2008 campaign apparatus and their job was to go on discussion boards and steer folks to positive discussions of Obama.

They´d actually sign up as users ~ many of the guys first there are still there ~ and over time they portrayed themselves as Conservatives well enough that when Snowden got tripped up and had to flee they could defend him. I can only suppose somebody had the idea that a spy who jumps ship publicly can actually come back. How utterly stupid of them.

Well, the Obots are still around, still manipulating us, and a number of them came out in the open for Snowden. Probably time to take names and keep a list eh!

Why Lyndon B. Johnson is the

T he competition for worst president since the early 1930s is pretty fierce. But for my money, Lyndon B. Johnson comes in first, winning the contest of awfulness over George W. Bush by a hair. The bloody debacle of the Vietnam War has a lot to do with this judgment (just as Iraq plays a big role in my negative assessment of Bush). According to a recent front-page story in the New York Times, the keepers of Johnson´s legacy fear that I´m not alone. In an effort to rehabilitate his reputation, these Johnson defenders, who include members of his family, have begun

Listening to pundits talk about the potential 2016 Republican field, you’d be forgiven for forgetting about Rick Santorum. The former senator’s strong second-place showing in 2012 shocked—even scared—the GOP’s kingmakers, who saw in him an abortion-hating firebrand with no chance of beating Barack Obama. So it’s no surprise that today, the party’s mainstreamers are acting like he’s old news, again dismissing a Santorum presidential candidacy. Not that he cares. He’s too busy plotting another possible run at the White House. In recent months, Santorum has gathered his inner circle of longtime advisers to sketch out a presidential campaign. KEARNY, N.J. — Mater Dei Academy sits shuttered, blue drapes pulled across its windows, atop a hill in this working-class city. From its steps, you can peer across the mist-shrouded expanse of the Meadowlands to the distant spires of Manhattan. For generations, this blond brick Catholic elementary school tossed a lifeline to the immigrants who, wave upon wave, washed ashore here. The Archdiocese of Newark closed it two years ago. Church officials offered deep regrets; the church’s wallet is thin to the touch these days. “It was a loved place, that school,” said Dorothy Gawronski, a crossing guard holding a red “Stop”

How much more are black people in this country supposed to take? On Saturday, a Florida jury failed to convict Michael Dunn for the callous murder of Jordan Davis. Though he was convicted of three counts of attempted murder and also on a gun charge, a mistrial was declared for the first-degree murder charge. He will face substantial jail time – perhaps up to 75 years on the four charges for which he was found guilty. Prosecutor Angela Corey has also publicly declared her intent to seek retrial on the murder conviction. However, she is the same prosecutor who oversaw the Zimmerman

This exceptionally cold and snowy winter has shown that government climate scientists were dead wrong when it came to predicting just how cold this winter would be, while the 197-year old Farmers’ Almanac predicted this winter would be “bitterly cold”. Bloomberg Businessweek reports that the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Climate Prediction Center (CPC) predicted temperatures would be “above normal from November through January across much of the lower 48 states.” This, however, was dead wrong. As Bloomberg notes, the CPC underestimated the “mammoth December cold wave, which brought snow to Dallas and chilled partiers in Times Square on New Year’s Eve.” CPC

Elderly North and South Koreans separated by war and decades of division, reunited in the North today, following extended discussions between the neighboring countries that threatened repeatedly to fall through. A reunion between Koreans torn apart by the Korean War, which ended in a truce (but not a peace treaty) in 1953, was last held in 2010. Officials on both sides have discussed this one since September 2013, but the initial plan for a reunion was scrapped. Once the idea was resurrected, it was put on hold by North Korea in protest of scheduled joint U.S.-South Korea drills. Finally, the

The problem with fixing the historical reputation of presidents — in both meanings of “fix”: securing in place and repairing — is that it is done by historians. That problem is manifest in Politico’s recent invitation to “ten leading historians” to write a paragraph on “Obama’s rank in the pantheon of American presidents.” If journalists write the first draft of history, one of the striking things about this collection is how little any of the ten historians revise in any way the conventional wisdom that permeates most campuses and is expressed by such bubble-surrounded sources as NPR, the New York Times,
