CNN Guest: Why Should ‘Appointed’
Sen. Tim Scott Have Been Invited

A panel discussion on CNN’s The Lead examined the impact that Wednesday’s speeches and celebrations surrounding the 50th anniversary of the civil rights movement’s march on Washington D.C. When asked why so few Republicans attended the rally and none spoke, the panel displayed a surprising lack of knowledge as to why that was the case. When asked why Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC), the only sitting African-American U.S. Senator, was not invited to speak, one guest displayed a measure of disdain for the “appointed” Senator. A discussion about the impact of the Martin Luther King Jr. “I Have a Dream” speech

When the Liberty Amendments are ratified, all senators will be appointed by the states, rather than by popular vote. So I guess Tim Scott is ahead of his time.

Huh? Manners left home alone, with the exception of intelligence.

Well Hussein was asked to speak, and most of us know he was whisked into office by the fraud he birthed. Tim Scott, might have been appointed, but he is a sitting Senator. Unlike revs jackson and sharpton, he belongs on stage, speaking. At this point it really doesn´t matter. The rats in DC are so worried others will get their cheese; Can only hope they choke on it. Scott was elected to the House of Representatives and subsequently appointed to the Senate. Are we to understand that no Representative is worthy of an invitation? I would hazard a guesss that there were some Representatives there.

A few years ago I participated in a radio debate on "white privilege" with a certain man, whose name is unimportant, who had a Ph.D. in "ethnic studies." At one point he introduced an argument by saying, "If whites are 80 percent of the population...," which prompted me to interject and point out that whites (non-Hispanic) are now only 63 percent of America. Of course, you might think that someone with a doctorate in "ethnic studies" would know what the ethnic and racial composition of the country is. President Obama’s remark that “We’ve got close to seven million Americans who have access to health care for the first time because of Medicaid expansion” achieved the dubious assessment of Four Pinocchios from "The Fact Checker" (a.k.a. "The Truth Behind the Rhetoric" by Glenn Kessler of The Washington Post). Four Pinocchios designates the highest form of prevarication one can commit on The Fact Checker scale. Simply put, Obama told a “Whopper.” The seven million figure, according to Kessler, most likely comes from the 6.3 million people that were deemed eligible for Medicaid from October 1 to December 31, 2013. MANILA, Philippines— Police clashed briefly in the Philippine capital Tuesday with about 300 protesters opposed to a planned visit by President Barack Obama and continued U.S. military presence in the country. Riot police holding up shields across a road from the U.S. Embassy were pushed back by the demonstrators, prompting the police to retaliate with truncheons. Carrying placards saying "US troops out now" and "Obama not welcome," the protesters allied with the May One Movement workers´ federation were able to hold a brief program of speeches denouncing U.S. imperialism in front of the seaside embassy before dispersing peacefully. Sometimes even a blind hog finds an acorn, and an unlikely press critic proves this humble proposition. Bill Maher, a famous purveyor of the politically correct who usually throws spitballs at conservatives, Christians and traditional values, thinks the Internet has destroyed the American culture. He would even bring back newspapers. The water cooler is good now only for dispensing bottled water, he says, and not for the exchange of opinions, some intelligent and some not, because “as a culture, we don’t have enough in common any more.” He doesn’t say anything about his own contributions to the damage of that
