Hugging the Brotherhood to Death
Front Page Magazine, by Daniel Greenfield

Original Article

When the dust settles in Cairo, at least long enough to make out anything through the smoke and flames, it may turn out that the Muslim Brotherhood has suffered its worst blow at the hands of none other than Barack Hussein Obama. The blow will not have been intentional. Like the killing of Bin Laden, a useful intervention carried out by Navy SEALS who were perhaps less than enthusiastic about Obama’s plan to use the civilian trial of the terrorist leader as a prop for dismantling the military tribunal system, it wasn’t something that he meant to do.

As good an explanation as I have found.

Just wait - even though zippy supports the MB and has never intended them any harm, he will ultimately take credit for defeating them.

When the MB seeks their revenge for Obama´s betrayal, how many of us innocent citizens will have to die to make the MB feel better?

Congressman Paul Ryan (R-WI) and Senator Patty Murray (D-WA) have wrongly and outrageously cut the budget on the backs of the U.S. military. On December 26 President Obama signed a new bipartisan bill that includes a $6 billion cut from military members´ retirement. These cuts to COLA (cost-of-living adjustments) also affect medically retired veterans, including those wounded in combat. American Thinker interviewed those who are directly affected. Amongst Congress and the president there is always the talk of how those serving, past and present need to be admired for their sacrifices. The Republican establishment´s war against the Tea Party has come to Texas. According to a report in the Dallas Morning News, "Some of Texas’ biggest business trade groups are moving to counter tea party and anti-government forces that have dominated recent Republican primaries." The Texas Future Business Alliance, described as a "mix of 10 major business groups, including the chemical industry, bankers, builders and contractors," is reportedly "sending out mailers and providing other support on behalf of GOP candidates" who favor more government spending and want to take on the Tea Party. The award winning sitcom M*A*S*H of the ‘70s and early ‘80s was based on a surgical unit in Korea during the Korean War. One of the characters was Corporal Klinger, a soldier who dressed in woman’s clothing hoping to convince the Army he was insane and therefore would qualify for discharge per Section 8 of United States Army Regulations. I mention this because it is the only explanation that fits Paul Ryan’s agreement to cut military veteran benefits or, at least, the only acceptable explanation for veterans and the Republican Party base. In December of 2012, Paul Ryan (R.,WI) and Patty Murray

The lobbyists that make up Washington´s permanent political class in the country´s "Boomtown" are banking on comprehensive immigration reform in 2014 to pad their profit margins even during a time when the country is revolting against them. According to a report in Politico, "Washington Inc." continues to "hum along even as Congress failed to pass the kind of bills that lobbyists are paid top dollar by corporate clients and other special interests to influence." That is a testament to the "to the resilience of Washington — and the firms that have thrived in the economy around it" even as the country is

House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) seems determined to undo the political advantage the GOP has gained from the disastrous implementation of ObamaCare. According to the New York Times, Boehner “has signaled he may embrace a series of limited changes to the nation’s immigration laws in the coming months,” bringing up a series of bills to advance that agenda. Apparently Boehner is holding firm to the belief that the need for some kind of “reform” outweighs the risks of alienating his core constituency. According to the Boehner’s aides, the Speaker is considering a “step by step” process, though they did not identify these

Under the cover and amid the distraction of the Christmas bustle, I had my last “official” contact with a source inside the Department of Homeland Security known as “Rosebud” in my writings. My source is leaving his position, retiring along with numerous others choosing to leave this bureaucratic monstrosity. For this contact, my source took unprecedented measures to be certain that our contact was far off the radar of prying government eyes and ears. I was stunned at the lengths he employed, and even found myself somewhat annoyed by the inconvenience that his cloak-and-dagger approach caused. It was necessary, according to

In his "State of the Union" show on February 12, 2013, Barack Hussein Obama said: Even with the tax relief we´ve put in place, a family with two kids that earns the minimum wage still lives below the poverty line. That´s wrong. For once I agree with our Dear Leader -- kinda. Yes, it´s wrong, but it´s wrong because Obama is wrong. For two reasons. First, very few families with two kids earn the minimum wage. From the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), we get these observations: Minimum wage workers tend to be young. Although workers under age 25 represented only about one-fifth of

Duck Dynasty is the most popular reality show on cable TV and it is a major part of A&E´s business plan. According to Nielsen, the Season 4 premiere was the most-watched nonfiction telecast ever on cable TV. More significantly, by suspending patriarch Phil Robertson for his comments made to GQ magazine that he believes homosexuality is a sin, Duck Dynasty has become a major battleground in the American culture war of progressives led by GLAAD and traditionalists led by… well Phil Robertson.

The attacks have begun. There are all sorts of time bombs embedded within Obamacare. Will we force doctors to treat the millions of new Medicaid patients who are signing up for services that can be only partially reimbursed? How exactly will the IRS collect penalties from millions of off-the-books youth who choose not to buy coverage? Of the newly insured who chose not to buy health insurance in the past, how many will follow through on their initial signups with steady monthly premium payments? If many don’t, how will we collect what they owe? Will all those who lost their coverage have enough money to buy

It never would have been enacted without legislative sleights-of-hand and backroom bribes offered to key Democrats. It never would have been enacted and Barack Obama would likely not have won a second term without the willing negligence of a toothless “watchdog press” who refused to independently investigate or report obvious lies. Early last summer in her Georgian-style home near Washington’s Embassy Row, Hillary Clinton met with a handful of aides for a detailed presentation on preparing for a 2016 presidential campaign. Three officials from the Democratic consulting firm Dewey Square Group — veteran field organizer Michael Whouley, firm founder Charlie Baker and strategist Jill Alper, whose expertise includes voter attitudes toward women candidates — delivered a dispassionate, numbers-driven assessment. They broke down filing deadlines in certain states, projected how much money Clinton would need to raise and described how field operations have become more sophisticated in the era of Barack Obama.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said that congressional Republicans’ sole agenda is to “make President [Barack] Obama look bad.” In his first speech on the Senate floor in the new year, Reid called for bipartisan cooperation, saying that Republicans had hamstrung bipartisan efforts. “We have been able to get a few things done but we have been unable to get some important things done because the goal by the Republicans in the congress — not the Republicans in the country, but the Republicans in the congress — is to do everything they can to make President Obama look bad,” Reid said.

Wisconsin Republican Gov. The Atlantic‘s Molly Ball wrote: The crisis began, he says, after last year’s presidential election, when Luntz became profoundly depressed. FAIRBANKS, Alaska – The federal Environmental Protection Agency has proposed new standards for wood stoves that would reduce the maximum amount of fine particulate emissions allowed for new stoves sold in 2015 and 2019. Maximum emissions would be reduced by one-third next year and by 80 percent in five years, the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner reported. Fine particulate pollution is made up of solid particles and liquid droplets that measure 2.5 micrometers in diameter or less. The EPA currently certifies non-catalytic wood stoves if they produce less than 7.5 grams of fine particulate per hour. Fine particulate absorbed by breathing has
