On August 26, Army Staff Sgt. Ty Carter became the 5th living Medal of Honor (MOH) recipient from the War in Afghanistan. Carter earned the MOH for his actions on October 3, 2009 as he ran under heavy enemy fire to supply ammunition to three fellow soldiers pinned down in a disabled Humvee outside of Combat Outpost Keating in Afghanistan. He ran "through that deadly gauntlet three times to get supplies to [Sgt. Bradley Larson, Spc. Stephan Mace, and Sgt. Justin Gallegos]." In awarding the MOH to Carter, President Obama recalled presenting Staff Sgt. Clinton Romesha with the MOH for

I certainly don´t want to nor ever will take anything away from our WWII brothers in arms. They truly are our greatest generation. Men like SSG Ty Carter represent todays great generation. From Korea, to Viet Nam, to Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as those "quiet" wars we still have some of the greatest American fighters that will always manage to rise to the top in times of greatest need.

God bless you SSG Carter, may you find peace in times of stress.

Stephan Mace was a friend of my daughter, one of three friends of hers who died in Afghanistan. I hate that their lives were wasted for a bunch of 7th century savages. How many more young Americans will have to die in Syria so that zippy can look tough?

God bless you, Sgt. Carter. I wish that you were receiving that medal from a patriotic president, rather than a traitorous one.

(Video) The Obama ladies are in the house — the house of China, that is. First lady Michelle Obama, her two daughters, Malia and Sasha, and her mother touched down Thursday in China for what’s being touted as a weeklong feel-good tourist event, amid increasing murmurs back home about U.S. taxpayers having to foot the bill. Mrs. Obama is supposed to use her visit for soft diplomacy only, and shy from the more controversial topics that plague U.S.-China relations, namely human rights and economics. No reporters accompanied the family on the trip. “The nature of her visit is really quite

“Obamacare” as shorthand for the Affordcable Care Act was first used mostly by critics of the law, but now everyone’s using the moniker and President Obama has long since embraced it. But apparently no one told Nancy Pelosi, because she’s still ticked off at how much people talk about “Obamacare” instead of the “Affordable Care Act.” In response to a reporter asking a question about Obamacare being a political winner or loser, Pelosi said, “By the way, it’s called the Affordable Care Act. In a distinguished legal career, Walsh was a highly successful Wall Street lawyer who served as a federal judge, president of the American Bar Association and as the No. 2 official at the Justice Department in the Eisenhower administration. But the highest profile work of his life was as a court-appointed independent counsel in the

White House Press Secretary Jay Carney is denying a television news reporter´s claim that reporters often ´provide the questions to him in advance,´ before his daily briefings, and that he sometimes provides answers on paper before taking the podium. ´If only this were true,´ Carney told MailOnline Thursday morning. He was responding to a claim from KPHO-TV5 anchor Catherine Anaya, who reported Wednesday night on what she called an ´off the record´ meeting yesterday morning between Carney and a handful of local TV reporters hand-picked to interview President Barack Obama.

Over the past two years, investigations conducted by the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel have uncovered a whole slew of shady tactics being used in operations conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms. During their research, Sentinel reporters found ATF agents prey on mentally ill teenagers (including ATF agents pressuring at least one young man to get a squid tattooed on his neck) to "help" with gun stings and found agents lost a fully automatic rifle on the streets of Milwaukee after it was stolen out of an unsupervised government vehicle. A new study documents the bleak plight of Americans who have been unemployed for more than six months: Just 11 percent of them, on average, will ever regain steady full-time work. The long-term jobless number 3.8 million, or 37 percent of all unemployed Americans. "The long-term unemployed are more than twice as likely" to stop looking for a job than to find one, according to the paper co-written by Alan Krueger,

Mississippi’s GOP senate primary is quickly becoming ground zero in 2014 for the fight between the establishment and the conservative grassroots for control of the Republican Party’s future. The state’s former governor Haley Barbour’s establishment political machine is in full swing running defense for incumbent Sen. Thad Cochran. Cochran is facing the fight of his political life from surging primary challenger two-term state Sen. Chris McDaniel. What has until now largely been a battle between Cochran and McDaniel facing off head-to-head is turning into the front line of the brutal and bloody political war between the Chamber of Commerce-style lobbyist

The words came out of my mouth before I could stop them. “I feel sorry for Obama,” I said. As my wife looked at me in disbelief, I quickly added a correction. “Well, almost.” Beset by failures at home and abroad, the president cuts a lonely and sad figure these days. That’s sad for him, but hold the tears — his loss is mankind’s hope. If Obama wakes from his utopian visions and faces the

Health industry officials say ObamaCare-related premiums will double in some parts of the country, countering claims recently made by the administration. The expected rate hikes will be announced in the coming months amid an intense election year, when control of the Senate is up for grabs. The sticker shock would likely bolster the GOP’s prospects in November and hamper ObamaCare insurance enrollment efforts in 2015. The industry complaints come less than a week after Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Kathleen Sebelius sought to downplay concerns about rising premiums in the healthcare sector. She told lawmakers rates would increase in 2015 but
