Thank Obama´s Ego For The
Carnage And Crisis In Egypt

Investor´s Business Daily, by Editorial

Original Article

Leadership: With a lethal combination of arrogance and naivete, the U.S. has mishandled a crisis of its own making in the Mideast´s most important Arab power. Egypt might now turn back toward Moscow. Anwar Sadat was remarkable in more ways than one. On top of making peace with Egypt´s longtime foe, Israel, he took the land of the pharaohs out of the Soviet orbit into what seemed a permanent friendship with America, something that appeared impossible under his predecessor, the leftist Gamal Abdel Nasser. Perhaps even more amazing, after Sadat´s 1981 assassination his legacy of peace and close ties with the U.S.

Is this the same ego he told us about when he said:

"Contrary to what some of you people think, that I´m an egomaniac. Yes, I have a healthy ego, but I´m not maniacal about it. I know I´m gonna come up anyway. I don´t have to bring me up. I don´t like being the focus of things here, but sadly it´s the case."

We should have known then that this guy was going to be dangerous.

Obama´s plan is to do whatever needs doing to keep the mid-east at a boil until they cut loose and take out all their frustration and fury on Israel. Contrary to popular belief, Obama´s no dummy. The destruction of Israel and the expansion of Islam is his goal.

OXON HILL, Md. -- Republican leaders implored conservatives to offer a stark contrast to President Barack Obama´s policies and stand firm on principles as a way to win back Senate control in the fall elections and prepare for the 2016 presidential campaign. Thursday marked the first day of the annual Conservative Political Action Conference, which brought together prospective White House candidates, conservative opinion leaders and tea party activists from coast to coast. With the party facing a tug of war for the soul of the GOP, Republicans made the case that they must unite and offer a different path in the

President Obama has signed an executive order today imposing sanctions on individuals he said violate Ukrainian sovereignty or are "stealing the assets" of the Ukrainian people. Obama told reporters at a White House briefing the sanctions were meant to "impose a cost" on Russia´s action in Crimea. Obama emphasized that new visa restrictions the U.S. placed on those who are opposing the Ukraine government “continue our efforts to impose a cost on Russia and those responsible for the situation in Crimea.” “We took these steps in close coordination with our European allies,” said in a brief statement in the White House briefing room.

The poll of 1,002 adults shows that pluralities of independents and moderates oppose candidates who support amnesty, which was euphemistically dubbed “a path to citizenship” by the poll designers. The poll showed that 41 percent of independents and 37 percent of moderates were less likely to vote for an amnesty-backer. Only 28 percent of independents and moderates said they were more likely to vote for a candidate who backs amnesty. The poll showed legislators’ support for amnesty inflicted a 12-point penalty from registered voters, 28 points from white

It’s crazy. They don’t think about that kind of stuff,” said Obama, who moments later applauded another mother for signing herself and adult son up for insurance plans.

So, Lois Lerner still won´t talk about her role in the illegal targeting and harassment by the IRS of conservative and Tea Party groups seeking 501(c)(4) tax exemptions. Lerner appeared for a second time Wednesday before the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform and claimed her Fifth Amendment right not to incriminate herself. It isn´t hard to figure out why Lerner´s lips are sealed. First, she knows the House of Representatives can cite her for contempt of Congress, but Attorney General Eric Holder would decide whether she is prosecuted on that charge. Where Lois Lerner goes, drama follows. On Wednesday, the former IRS officer again invoked the Fifth before the House Oversight Committee. That precipitated a heated exchange between the committee’s Republican chairman, Darrell Issa, and Democratic ranking member Elijah Cummings, who called the hearings “un-American.” And that spat has become the story. No doubt that is exactly what Cummings had in mind. Because it distracts attention from the substance of the hearings — and from the questions raised by e-mails and public remarks Lois Lerner wrote, received or made when she was IRS Director of Tax Exempt Organizations. Via Matt Lewis, here’s Maverick once again demonstrating that “cordial relationship” in politico-speak means “two people who can’t publicly admit to hating each other but obviously do.” And it’s a cheap shot. Cruz’s point yesterday at CPAC was that Dole, McCain, and Romney lost because they weren’t conservative enough. That’s not because they’re gutless — he said specifically that they were “good” and “decent” men — but because they’re not committed, full-throated ideologues, even less so when they’re fighting for purple states in a national election. We can debate whether that’s true but there’s nothing offensive in raising the subject.

WASHINGTON — Charles G. and David H. Koch, the billionaire brothers who are perhaps the best-known patrons of conservative Republican politics, are bespectacled and in their 70s. They look genial enough. But Democrats are embarking on a broad effort that aims to unmask the press-shy siblings and portray them, instead, as a pair of villains bent on wrecking progressive politics. On Thursday, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee is starting a digital campaign that will use Internet ads and videos, as well as social media, to tie Republican Senate candidates to the policies and actions of the Koch brothers. Christie’s remarks were highly anticipated, not only because of the lingering scandal but also because CPAC brass dinged him last year by leaving him off of the guest list.
