GOP Poll: Sen. Alexander Trails Generic
"Conservative" By 5 Points

Breitbart Big Government, by Mike Flynn

A new poll of Republican voters in Tennessee shows Sen. Lamar Alexander trailing a generic "conservative" challenger by 5 points. The poll, obtained exclusively by Breitbart News, shows a "credible conservative candidate" leading Alexander 49.5-44.9%. While a serious opponent hasn´t yet emerged to challenge Alexander, the poll shows how vulnerable he is in next year´s August primary. The poll, from Triton Polling, interviewed over 680 Republican voters in the Volunteer State last week. The poll has a margin of error of +/- 3.7%. Around 64% of Republican voters, at least somewhat, approve of the job Alexander is doing, an unsurprising result for

Sadly, generic candidates usually do well in polls. When the actual candidate appears (Akin?, O´Donnell?) things can go haywire. Hope TN can primary Lamar with someone up to the job.

We in TN are not pleased with Lamar or Corker. What is so weird is that in a state that bleeds bright red, we cannot field a true conservative candidate!

I would run-- but I would make Rand Paul seem normal and Ted Cruz seem liberal in contrast.

Now where did I put my 9mm?

Dittos, #2. There are moves underway to provide a viable challenger to Alexander. It´s time for states like TN to elect true conservatives in the GOP primaries (first option) or get on with consolidating various conservative splinter parties into a strong new party (backup plan).

Polls that compare a known quantity with a generic are fraudulent. Note that the poll also says Alexander has a 64% approval. He´s in big trouble. Not! No doubt he´d easily win a primary challenge. I used to live in TN. I never had any issue with Alexander. Corker, on the other hand ...

He´s one of those level-headed compromisers. Ugh. It would be nice to see him go. The Pubbies are doomed, anyway.

New party is what´s needed. Disaffected Pubs, about 3/4 of the Independents, and a smattering of conservative democrats could do the trick.

Independents are just Pubs or Dims who don´t want to admit it for some reason or another.

"I vote the man, not the party!" One of the biggest lines of BS in history.

GOP, conservatives can´t rock DC

One year after committing himself and his speakership to reducing the federal budget deficit, Rep. John A. Boehner (R.-Ohio) delivered to President Barack Obama and the Democrats a one-year hall pass that will suspend the debt ceiling until 2015. The vote was 221 to 201 with 28 Republicans, like Boehner and his merry band of hacks, voting alongside their BFF’s across the aisle. Members of the House GOP leadership had set the table for a small fight with the Democrats by tying the increase in the debt ceiling to the restoration of cuts in military pensions—hardly the stuff of heroic last stands.

With all the smirking on the left about their electoral victories, it’s important to remember that Democrats haven’t won the hearts and minds of the American people. They changed the people. If you pour vinegar into a bottle of wine, the wine didn’t turn, you poured vinegar into it. Similarly, liberals changed no minds. They added millions of new liberal voters through immigration. So why are Republicans like Trey Gowdy, Eric Cantor, Paul Ryan and John Boehner making fools of themselves in order to spot the Democrats three more touchdowns? The House Republicans’ “Standards for Immigration Reform,” for example, contains this fat,

When pondering our obsession with immigration, I´m reminded of how people in the ridiculous dystopian film Idiocracy were watering their crops with an energy drink called Brawndo. And even though the crops weren´t growing, the suggestion to try water instead was met with the following conditioned response in the drink´s defense: "It´s got what plants crave! It´s got electrolytes!" No one knew what electrolytes were. No one could explain why they were in Brawndo. It was all sloganeering. And so it is with immigration. Why do we have immigration? This week and last we learned from Democrats that Obamacare is society´s latest liberating influence. Americans can stop and smell the roses now that they are unshackled from the adult responsibility of providing for their own basic necessities. The need to perform honest yet unpleasant or even difficult work is a thing of the past. Free at last! However, those of us who work for a living are feeling a lot less liberated now that we must subsidize the sabbaticals of those who vote for a living. In 1858, other Democrats were living a "liberated" life at least somewhat similar to their

If the GOP manages to pass amnesty for illegal aliens through the House of Representatives before November of 2016, they will have to ram it down the throats of the conservative base. If they are prepared to do that, then we invite then to, by all means, go for it. But they should be prepared to assume minority party status in a three party system afterwards. "America cannot become the world and still be America." So warned the late Harvard political scientist Samuel Huntington in his 2004 article "America´s Dead Souls." Huntington´s article was prophetic, and it explains why some GOP pols have taken the side of big business and illegal immigrants over the interests of our nation. "In a variety of ways, the American establishment, governmental and private, has become increasingly divorced from the American people," Huntington wrote. Huntington´s core point was that the American elite has grown extremely distant -- socially, economically, morally, and politically -- from the public. This trend, he warned, undermines

Last week, U.S. House speaker John Boehner backed down on immigration surrender. It took a firestorm of grassroots opposition to make the speaker drop Paul Ryan´s cave-in to big business interests (led by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce) and the left, arrayed throughout the Democratic Party, the mainstream media, show biz, academia, and whatever other crags and holes they inhabit. And Democrat-supporting Hispanic pressure groups, which the GOP establishment believes needs to be appeased. Note that the speaker only backed down. But Iowa Senator and Obamacare champion Tom Harkin serves as chair of the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee. He just returned from an official tour of Stalinist Cuba hailing its healthcare as “quite remarkable.” “Cuba’s a poor country,” he marveled. “But they have a lower child mortality rate than us….their public health system is quite remarkable.” What Senator Harkin actually believes to be true or “quite remarkable” might be (implicitly) worthy of emulation. It’s easy to downplay or even dismiss the threat by Iranian warships said to be on their way to sail close to U.S. maritime borders if one merely looks at this move as taking place in a geopolitical vacuum. The problem is that we are not residing in such a vacuum, and the majority of Americans are not understanding the significance of events that have been taking place since the planning phases of the “Arab Spring.” The American public is not getting the truth from the White House or the Western media that appears to be covering for, if not facilitating

The definition of ‘Venal’ is, ‘Willing to sell one’s influence, especially in return for a bribe; open to bribery; mercenary’.
