Mark Steyn a candidate for US Senate?
Daily Caller, by Jeff Poor

Original Article

Posted By:Donttaxmebro, 8/17/2013 11:29:21 AM

On his radio show on Thursday night, conservative talk show host Hugh Hewitt lobbied National Review columnist and occasional fill-in host for Rush Limbaugh to make a run for a New Hampshire U.S. Senate seat against the current incumbent, Democrat Sen. Jeanne Shaheen. Hewitt on Friday had announced the launch of SteynforSenate.com, where one can sign a petition to encourage him to run as well as be notified how to contribute to his campaign in the event he does run. But in his regular appearance on Thursday, Steyn expressed his disappointment in the lack of the quality of candidates

Comments:
This would be awesome.

But it would be bad not to get to hear him on a regular basis on Rush Limbaugh anymore. But could you imagine what type of senatorial staff he would assemble?

Is Mark Steyn a U S Citizen? Everything I have seen about him says he is a citizen of Canada.

According to Wikipedia (I know, I know!), Steyn remains a Canadian citizen, although residing in New Hampshire.

Would be great...except that in order to run for US senator, a candidate must have been a US citizen for at least 9 years at the time of election. Pity.

Steyn, "undocumented" (as he likes to put it) or not, is a more loyal American than many who were born here. He is an important voice, in or out of the Senate. However, #6 is correct.

On her Thursday broadcast, “The Kelly File” host Megyn Kelly brought on Washington Post columnist Charles Krauthammer to sound off on the latest excerpt of President Barack Obama’s interview with the New Yorker magazine’s David Remnick. In that excerpt, Obama blamed Fox News and conservative talker Rush Limbaugh for the gridlock in Washington, D.C. Krauthammer noted Obama has “the commanding heights of the culture” in his corner and said it was unbecoming of the leader of the free world to complain on those grounds. “At least he is not blaming it on climate change or George W. On Thursday, semi-retired radio talker Neal Boortz predicted the republican party will not win control of the U.S. Senate in the 2014 midterm elections, despite all the pitfalls the democrats and president Barack Obama are facing, particularly with regards to ObamaCare. The reason, Boortz said, would be the GOP’s tendency to run on issues related to social conservatism. Boortz explained the importance to the republic for a GOP win next year while guest hosting Sean Hannity’s Thursday radio show: this whole thing about Phil Robertson and what have you – it speaks a lot to what we have

On Tuesday’s broadcast of Fox News Channel’s “The O’Reilly Factor,” Washington Post columnist Charles Krauthammer insisted the divide within the Republican Party has been exaggerated, adding that Republicans disagree over strategy but not ideology. “[I] think this whole thing is as you say very much blown up by the liberal media because it’s a great dramatic story,” Krauthammer said. “But here’s the fundamental contradiction. During the online-only portion of Fox News Channel’s “Special Report” on Wednesday night, Washington Post columnist Charles Krauthammer laid out his theory on what Obamacare’s real intended purpose is: an instrument to redistribute wealth. Krauthammer made that claim in his column last week, but he explained how it works in practice to host Bret Baier and co-panelists former New Jersey Superior Court Judge Andrew Napolitano and The Hill associate editor A.B. Scarborough was asked by Hewitt if he had any idea how many people would ultimately lose their health care coverage because of that law. Scarborough replied by saying many more Americans would be impacted by that law than what then-President George W. WASHINGTON — Tennessee Republican Sen. Bob Corker called out fellow Republicans Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas and Sen. Cruz, earlier this week, held the floor for over 21 hours, speaking in defense of defunding Obamacare with that government funding bill. He asked other Republican senators to join him in voting against moving forward on a bill passed by the House , which would fund the government while defunding Obamacare.
