So you voted for Barack Obama bank in 2008, and perhaps you helped to re-elect him in 2012. How´s that working out for you? Chances are, not well. Indeed, the evidence is overwhelming that those who most supported Obama have fared the worst under his policies. This, in turn, raises the question as to why these people would vote for someone who has economically been such as failure. The answers to that question are troubling indeed. Rewind to the 2012 elections
Mmmm, mmmm, mmmm. Dat goose tasted mighty gooood! An whada beeyootiful golden color it had! Attention all you dumbed-down, barely aware, dope-smoking, self-absorbed, media-influenced, celebrity-obsessed, Food-Stamp wielding, Escalade driving, Kool-Aid drinking, government-dependent, entitlement rich, free-stuff-grabbing, free-loading short attention span, door knobs! Killing the golden goose will only give you one last dinner!
It´s been Obama´s plan all along to get as many people on the government dole so they will continue to vote for democrats to keep their gravy train running. His policies are working very well to accomplish this.
The writer cites a Roper Poll ~ which takes me back to the days that Harris´ young daughter was in our political statistics class at Indiana University.
She could have been a catwalk model anywhere pulling in the big bucks.
The guys took a poll on that and it was 100%
But, never mind that, it´s a poll and the writer draws inferences from it that were not intended in the original design.
The ´age´ sample cells cross tabbed with the others may or may not prove anything about the age groups since, as many have noted, yout´ are slow to get organized and vote ~ they are well into their 30s before they can be counted on. Until then, most of them are in that 90 million who never vote.
My correlation, which cannot be disputed with these Roper poll results, is simple ~ voting in elections parallels registration by party. Which is something that parallels DEATH RATES. The 2012 Democrat presidential vote shows about 1 million new registrations with 4 million Baby Boomer deaths (among Registered Democrats)
The 2012 Republican presidential vote shows about 5 million new registrations with 4 million Baby Boomer deaths (among Registered Republicans)
Go back one cycle to 2008 and that reflects the Democrat´s voter registration drive ~ and the absence thereof for Republicans between 2004 and 2008.
Capping off the thesis, the TEAParty knows they got a lot of folks registered and out to vote just before the 2010 election!
So, consistent with Thomas Jefferson´s thesis, if you get your folks out to vote you will win. If you don´t, then you lose.
The author has missed the point. These folks did not vote for Obama because they wanted him to fix the economy. If you asked them why they voted the way they did, the economy likely was not in their top ten reasons. The Republicans make a mistake if they think everyone votes for their economic well-being. Not everyone views the world through an economic lens.
I just have one question for those who choose to stay home instead of voting for Romney. Was it worth it? Are things better? Do you really think Romney would not have done a better job? You cut off your nose to spite your face and look what we have. Everywhere you look disorder, confusion, deception, disaster. We have three long years of more of the same with hillary waiting in the wings. We ain´t seen nothing yet.
I have always felt that laws should be instituted to require prospective voters to produce paid tax receipts in order to register. For those on the dole and not contributing, sit down and shut up. Perhaps not constitutional, I know, as it constitutes a poll tax. But when did the Constitution ever stop Obama from doing what he wants? Let´s talk what right and just.
Two points, while the economy sucks people aren´t really hurting all that much because of the government safety nets. Indeed, their short term fears turn more on fears of losing the safety nets than they do getting the economy turned around. This is simply human nature as most people do think in the short term.
Second, people who aren´t hurting often do vote against their own economic interests if they think they will be praised for doing so. The whole self esteem movement is about getting young people addicted to praise that is disconnected from reality.
"these folks simply don´t care about the nation´s economic success -- or their own"
Au contraire, they DO care about THEIR success. They just have an extremely warped view of how they will succeed. They look at themselves as victims who can only get their fair share if the government takes money from others who got it "unfairly" (remember you didn´t build that), and gives it to them.
The economic system doesn´t really work that way. Opportunity based systems reward effort and willingness to take risks, NOT victimhood. Further, there is not enough money to divvy it all up and produce prosperity for all. That would only result in subsistence living for all. The only way to attain prosperity for all is for all to work to achieve it. That´s not what BO and liberals tell them but it IS the hard truth.
The article concludes correctly that "that trend, if it continues, which could eventually cause our nation and our way of life to implode" BECAUSE it doesn´t work. Socialist countries keep trying it and failing. The reason is simple. Distributive economics is based on a false view of human nature and the real world. Reward for effort and an ownership society ALWAYS yields a better outcome, FOR ALL!!!
It is only jealousy and envy that cause people to resent leaders of companies that make millions because the workers make a smaller share. But the workers are compensated for the things they do, responsibility they take, and risks they assume. People who want a safe 9-5 job get paid accordingly. That´s not a bad thing but don´t expect a $100K salary for it.
The reason barry got elected was because he is cool - he´s black, he´s gay, and he´s a doper. Those attributes will get you 65% of the vote. But the good news is that most of the no-info voters that voted for him are un/under-employed. The kiddies who voted for him will be paying for the debts he is incurring for the rest of their miserable lives. And the guns his AG has smuggled into Mexico are killing the friends and relatives of many of the mexicans who voted for him. Is this what the liberals mean by social justice?
Why speculate? Didn´t Gov Romney claim he truly did not want to win? That should put it in a nutshell. The individual who wanted the job got the job. To many it did not matter as to his ´qualifications´ or how inept he was AT his job.
Got to love it...the 29-year old surfer dude who avoids a "m´effing" job to hang out on the beach, sing and chase women. What´s his plight? The urban single mother who lets the kids raise themselves while she does her thing...her plight? The only people with a "plight" seem to be taking care of themselves and thinking the suckers on welfare with Obamaphones, Section 8 and SNAP cards are "losers." Got news for you...in the parlance you´re a "chump." They´re taking from you, and very happy in their "plight." Voting for Obama/Dems is asking for more plight, please!
The Lo Fo voters in Detroit kept re-electing the communist mayor Coleman Young and his corrupt regime and look what eventually happened to Detroit. The Lo FO voters elected a communist pResident Obama and his corrupt regime in 2008 and re-elected him in 2012 and would keep re-electing him after that if they could. The whole country is going the way of Detroit now. The only explanation is they are useful idiots. In turn they gave us an idiot for pResident. They think alike.
Like communism, the collapse of the Obama Administration agenda is inevitable, not solely as a result of its many flawed policies, but because it lacks an ethical dimension in regard to individual rights, justifiable criteria for its use of state coercion and, in particular, a respect for the truth. Stated simply, Obama lies because the true objectives of his fundamental transformation of the United States are incompatible with American democracy and tradition. (snip) The arrogance and mendacity of the Obama White House is directly proportional to misplaced political loyalty and a submissive and willfully blind press.
By now, the news has spread online of the IRS audit notices sent to two Obamacare whistleblowers. On November 25th, cancer victim Bill Elliott and C. Steven Tucker were informed of the ordeal each was to face. Elliott has been waging a pitched battle with cancer. Tucker is the insurance agent and healthcare freedom activist who informed him that the canceling of his insurance, wrought by the Obama administration for the sake pushing citizens into Obamacare, was illegal. Tucker reached out immediately after Elliott appeared on Fox News´ The Kelly File, Nov. 7th, and Elliott´s insurance was hastily reinstated.
I claim no special insider knowledge of the Democratic Party´s inner workings, but still I am rather certain that discontent with President Obama is bubbling beneath the veneer of public unity behind the Nation´s First Black President. (snip) They´re two of the most powerful African-American politicians in the land. And by most accounts, President Obama and Rep. Charles Rangel hate each other. The most recently revealed salvo in their war of words - Obama´s assertion that Rangel is a "hack," according to the political tome "Double Down" - is just one element of a long-dysfunctional relationship.
Well, well, well. It´s always a glorious day in a socialist paradise when the lefties show their tyrannical hand and try to suppress speech. They want Americans to have accessibility to healthcare, but not to any information about the insurance they are forcing millions to purchase. In order to arm Californians with accurate information about the California Healthcare Exchange, the California Republican Assembly launched a website this past August called CoveringHealthcareCA.com -- clearly setting forth what you have to do, the date by which you have to do it and the consequences if you don´t.
The GOP establishment is loath to admit it, but the government shutdown is turning out to be a brilliant political chess move on the part of Senators Ted Cruz and Mike Lee. The Obamacare disaster, fully predictable by anyone who understands the effect of incentives and the fundamental incompetence of academic theorists and left wing ideologues, has made the go-for-broke attempt to stop it an obvious profile in courage. (snip) The budget and debt limit fights lie ahead. Cruz and Lee have laid out the path for us. The GOP can now say that that because the Democrats have shown
Something is up! The "young invincibles" who were largely responsible for catapulting Barack Obama into the seat of power appear to be spurning ObamaCare and its joke of a website. (Snip) In hopes of driving home his point, rather than sports, split lips, and stitches, the president, well-acquainted with the subject, chose to discuss substance abuse dangers. Let's remember, Barack Obama, Sr. was an alcoholic who lost his legs and later his life in two separate drunk-driving accidents; the president's illegal Uncle Omar manages a liquor store and, before getting a green card, was arrested for drunken driving.
Among the many blessings granted us by ObamaCare (PPAHCA), a new one will be coming soon, starting in January 2014. We will acquire "standing." Legally, the word standing refers to the "ability to initiate a lawsuit." (snip) Those treatments deemed "Not Cost Effective" will become unavailable, even when that care is what you need to stay alive. Thus, insured or uninsured, as a direct result of government action, you are less able or unable to get the care you need in 2014 after ObamaCare implementation. You now have legal standing.
The poor, pathetic Democrats trying to defend Obamacare have adopted the talking point that there is "pent-up demand" for "affordable" (i.e., subsidized by other people) health care insurance. The citrizens of the Garden State have just flipped the bird on this argument. (snip) fifty thousand people signed up online for New Jersey´s gambling sites in the first week. That compares with 741 who signed up for Obamacare during all of October. Yes, the Obamacare website has been plagued with problems, but the disparity between the two programs is still eye-popping
Barry promised a zillion times on camera that Americans under ObamaCare would be able to keep their health care insurance if they liked it, that they would be able to keep the same doctors, and so on. Were these lies? (snip)Next November, Republican political ads from coast to coast should say something like this: "The leaders of the Democratic Party are doing the very best they can. That is the problem our nation faces today: that Democrat leaders are doing the best that they can. We cannot expect them to fix the problems they have created or the other problems
Oops! First it was ´if you like your insurance you can keep your insurance.´ Then it was ´if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor.´ Now, after the president´s spokes-prevaricators said that Barack Obama had never met his father´s half-brother Omar Onyango Obama, affectionately referred to by many as Uncle Omar, we come to find out that that´s another lie. Yet in a way it´s understandable that Barack Obama would want to place distance between himself and his colorful Kenyan family, some of whom have lived America illegally for 50 years, still mooch off of welfare, and in Omar
An entry titled "Forget About the Price Tag" has won the HHS video contest for promoting Obamacare. (snip)McDonald received the $2,000 grand prize and a $3,000 prize for having the top song. McDonald, a resident of Chicago, signed up for Cook County´s Medicaid program. She has type 1 diabetes. Did someone tell the state of IL that the $5,000 she won in the contest might make her inelgible for Medicaid? The huge irony is that she won by posting a video urging her fellow youth not to worry about the price tag, when she herself is getting her insurance paid for by
In his first term, Obama managed to get his paws on health care, banking, energy, student loans, the auto business, and more. Now he has his sights set on your 401(k). The left has had its eye on retirement savings for years, but so far takeover attempts have been rebuffed. (snip)Once it is established that mutual funds pose a risk to financial stability, government will likely proceed on its merry way, with thousands of pages of regulations bringing those funds, and the savings they manage, under the thumb of government. It is only a short step from regulation to appropriation,
The question all week long was this: Who are you going to believe, an illegal alien or the president of the United States of America? Obviously, if it’s a president who once went by an alias, Barry Soetoro, you go with Uncle Omar, 100 percent, no questions asked. And so it was that the White House finally admitted to another, uh, misstatement — despite previous denials, Barack/Barry did sleep on his beloved Uncle Omar’s couch in Cambridge when he first moved here to attend Harvard Law School (speaking of which, we’re still waiting to see the president’s grades and his LSAT scores). But the
More young men in California rise in pitch at the end of their sentences when talking, new research shows. This process is known as "uptalk" or "valleygirl speak" and has in the past been associated with young females, typically from California or Australia. But now a team says that this way of speaking is becoming more frequent among men.The findings were presented at the Meeting of the Acoustical Society of America in California. "We found use of uptalk in all of our speakers, despite their diverse backgrounds in socioeconomic status, ethnicity, bilingualism and gender," said Amanda Ritchart, a linguist at the University of
How do you get your arms around the catastrophe known as Obamacare? Is it even possible? At this point, I’m not sure it is. The list of individual disasters which threaten to ruin one-sixth of the U.S. economy and what has been, up until now, the best healthcare system in the world is exhaustive, and exhausting. The examples I will identify here barely scratch the surface. First but by no means foremost, we have the supposedly new and improved HealthCare.gov. Except it’s not, even the visible part. Stories still abound of people still failing to get in or to get through the enrollment
DAVID CORN: I saw a president who remains frustrated with the political-media culture that he has to work within, and that he´s looking to rally people, students here, and supporters, and people within the media. CHRIS MATTHEWS: But David Corn, you skeptic. He came to us today. He came amongst us. CORN: He´s trying to rally people behind this vision that he´s been promoting for a couple years. FINEMAN: By the way, he did it the end here, today, Chris, not by defending specifics, but by explaining why he´s in the game to begin with. And I don´t know about you, he´s
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has announced a new five-year strategic plan to improve safety for elderly drivers and passengers. Although they are statistically among the safest on the road, the number of older drivers is increasing dramatically — and with it, that group´s numbers of injuries and deaths. Since 2003, the population of older adults, defined as age 65 and older, has increased by 20% and the number of licensed older drivers increased by 21% to 35 million in 2012, according to NHTSA. Last year, NHTSA reported that 5,560 people older than 65 died and 214,000 were injured
Barack Obama did not tell the whole story this autumn when he tried to make the case that Bashar al-Assad was responsible for the chemical weapons attack near Damascus on 21 August. In some instances, he omitted important intelligence, and in others he presented assumptions as facts. Most significant, he failed to acknowledge something known to the US intelligence community: that the Syrian army is not the only party in the country’s civil war with access to sarin, the nerve agent that a UN study concluded – without assessing responsibility – had been used in the rocket attack. In the months before the attack,
Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, the hapless, goalpost-shifting so-called "architect" of Obamacare, told Fox News´ Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday that President Barack Obama´s promise "if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor" was absolutely true--with one important caveat: if you like your doctor, "you can pay for it." Wallace grilled Dr. Emanuel, challenging his false claims that California´s enrollment was keeping pace with the percentage of the young population necessary to keep the system afloat, and pointing out that the president´s promise on doctors would collapse once people lost their insurance or their
President Barack Obama’s Facebook page on Saturday posted a message honoring the dead from Pearl Harbor—accompanied by a picture of Obama descending the stairs next to the Pearl Harbor Memorial. The picture barely fits the name of the Arizona Memorial so it can frame Obama in the foreground. The post´s statement reads: Today, with solemn pride and reverence, let us remember those who fought and died at Pearl Harbor, acknowledge everyone who carried their legacy forward, and reaffirm our commitment to upholding the ideals for which they served. President Obama The Obama Administration´s current shipbuilding plan shrinks the size of
The U.S. isn´t called "America the Beautiful" for nothing. Each year, millions of tourists come from home and abroad to see the country´s majestic landscape and iconic sites, from the Grand Canyon to the Statue of Liberty. But there are also cool, quirky attractions, like Vermont´s Ben & Jerry´s Factory and Tennessee´s Graceland, the former home of Rock and Roll King Elvis Presley. From California to New York and everywhere in between, the country is chock-full of incredible attractions that keep luring in visitors. Here are the best tourist attractions in every state.
Although the jobless rate in November fell to its lowest level since he took office, President Obama called on Republican lawmakers Saturday to spend tens of billions on unemployment benefits that are set to expire this month. “It shouldn’t be a partisan issue,” Mr. Obama said in his weekly address. But he said the “economic lifeline” is in jeopardy. “All because Republicans in this Congress — which is on track to be the most unproductive in history — have so far refused to extend it” Mr. Obama said. If Congress doesn’t act before lawmakers leave on their holiday break, about
Many people could die as extreme weather becomes common. There will be more freak winds like the October storm, which killed four people. Heatwaves will be lethal and the sea level will rise, leaving coastal towns at risk of being swamped by storm surges. Sir Brian Heap, president of the European Academies Science Advisory Council, said he felt “obliged” to issue the warning after a new study by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. It comes on the back of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines, which has killed more than 5,000 people. Sir Brian said: “Given the tragic events this
Call me Grinch, call me Scrooge. Call me Lord Voldemort of the Yuletide. None could be worse than sending me a holiday card with glossy photographs of your lovely, smiling family. My wife, Emily, and I place your cards like trophies on our shelves, continuing an old-school practice that began about 175 years ago as a way of maintaining relationships as families and friends moved far and wide. Today’s cards may appear more personalized — with photos of spouses, kids and pets, and distribution lists much smaller than a sprawling collection of Facebook friends. But when I flip over the photo
