A hero soldier was shot twelve times as he tried to charge down an army officer who launched a shooting rampage at his base killing thirteen people, a court martial heard today. Another victim of accused shooter Maj. Nidal Hasan was pregnant when she was gunned down by the Muslim psychiatrist who also inured 30 people when he opened fire in a crowded medical building at Fort Hood Texas in 2009. Spc. Frederick Greene was shot 12 times during the attack, Lt. Col. Phillip Berran told the judge after reviewing photos of the soldier’s body before jurors were led into
Some in this nation are grateful for men of courage such as Spc. Greene, willing to lay down his life for his comrades in arms, but ultimately only one of the shots is fatal. And the sad thing is, this administration won´t recognize it as a combat fatality, refusing o acknowledge it as an "act of terrorism".
This murdering ´peace´ loving Muslim WANTS to be found guilty...not so he can be a ´martyr´ which means someone who can murder unarmed men, women, and unborn babies, but because he knows that a guilty finding will allow him at least 30 years of appeals. this would give him star billing and allow him to spew his Muslim rants unabated at tax payer expense till he is an old man and then appeal that he is an old man and deserves mercy. Give him life in Federal Military prison amongst other military prisoners...with no chance of parole. THAT would be justice for him!
SPC Greene should receive a high decoration--Distinguished Service Cross or Medal of Honor. Hasan needs hanging with a pig skin rope = no martyrdom, no paradise, no 72 raisins. Make an example of this murdering Islamist.
Downing Street has drawn up controversial plans to slash up to £5?billion a year from the welfare bill by limiting child benefit to families’ first two children. Under the proposal, revealed today, families would also lose their entitlement to child tax credit for any more than two children. The change would mean parents with three children, who would currently be entitled to child benefit because their annual income is less than £50,000, would lose out on £696 a year. On top of that, those earning less than £30,000 will also be denied child tax credits worth £2,725 a year – making them
President Obama and his family will leave Washington Dec. 20 for a 17-day holiday vacation in Hawaii. The White House announced Friday that the Obamas will depart next week after what is expected to be a light work schedule for the president in Washington. The president and his family traditionally spend their Christmas break in a rented home on Oahu with spectacular ocean views. For his first three years in office, Mr. Obama rented a $24,500-per-week gated Plantation Estate, which offers security and privacy on the white sand beach of Kailua Bay. Last year, renting a similar house in the
On Friday, Colorado’s Arapahoe High School was put on lockdown while a student armed with a shotgun took over the school in an attempt to confront a teacher who he believed had wronged him. The student, identified as 18-year-old Karl Pierson, took his own life before he could be taken into custody. In a profile on the shooter in the Denver Post which focused on his “strong political beliefs,” several of Pierson’s classmates offered their impressions of the shooter. One of the shooter’s classmates described him as a “very opinionated socialist.” Shortly after that post was published, however, that description
District of Columbia officials are recruiting young residents this weekend to enroll in ObamaCare by showing up where they “party by night and shop by day.” Officials on Saturday visited two Footlocker stores where Nike’s exclusive Air Jordan 12 “Taxi” sneakers were going on sale. And they are scheduled to visit two Denny’s restaurants from 2 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. “My motto is ‘Get them health care while you get them Jordans,” DC Health Links representative Vanessa Brooks told Fox News outside a Footlocker in the city’s downtown. “Get some health care to go along with them taxis, OK?” Brooks told
ARLINGTON, Va. –Tens of thousands of wreaths made in Maine have been laid at graves at Arlington National Cemetery. Trucks carrying about 120,000 balsam wreaths began rolling toward the Washington, D.C.-area cemetery Dec. 8. They arrived Saturday. All told, the Columbia Falls-based nonprofit Wreaths Across America expects to ship 470,000 to 500,000 wreaths to adorn veterans´ graves across the country and overseas this holiday season. U.S. Sens. Susan Collins and Angus King of Maine say the Senate has passed a resolution designating Saturday as "Wreaths Across America Day." The wreath-laying tradition began in 1992, when the owner of Worcester Wreath Co.
FORMER BANKER Paul Grangaard recalls a time when most of his colleagues owned only a few pairs of shoes: two to alternate between for work, one for the weekend and a pair of running shoes or sandals. That, he has noticed recently, is no longer the case. "I have a friend who´s the CEO of a Fortune 500 company in Minnesota. He tells me this is the first time he´s had more than four pairs of shoes," said Mr. Grangaard, 55, now the president and CEO of American shoe brand Allen Edmonds. "He said he´s up to seven, and it´s
Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker and Rep. Paul D. Ryan are friends and political allies, one helping the other in 2012 when Walker faced a recall attempt and Ryan ran for vice president on the Republican ticket. But when it comes to winning the White House, Walker has sounded less than supportive of a candidacy by his fellow Badger State lawmaker, suggesting someone more like himself. "There´s no doubt, as much as I love Paul and some other people mentioned, in my mind it´s almost a given that not only for the future of the party but for the future of
[Video] The Office of the Inspector General (OIG) at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security reported that tunnels along the southwest border are a growing and significant threat to security. According to a report by the DHS OIG released December 11, the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agency, charged with protecting the U.S. borders, lacks the technological capability to detect subterranean tunnels. “Illicit cross-border tunnels along the southwest border are primarily used by criminals to transport illegal drugs into the United States, and they are a significant and growing threat to border security,” noted the report. “In an effort to
Bells tolled 26 times to honor the children and teachers killed one year ago in a shooting rampage at Sandy Hook Elementary School as local churches held memorial services and President Barack Obama observed a moment of silence. Mr Obama marked the anniversary of the Newtown school shootings earlier this morning by calling for tighter gun control and expanded mental health care. ‘We haven´t yet done enough to make our communities and our country safer,’ the president said in his weekly address. ‘We have to do more to keep dangerous people from getting their hands on a gun so easily.
In mid-November, Americans for Tax Reform compiled a list of federal spending on state Obamacare exchanges totaling a breathtaking $4.5 billion. One number on the list stands out from the rest — and it´s not California´s, though its $910 million amout is awful, disproportionate, and surely highly wasteful (before considering scalability concerns, the fixed costs of building a web site should be close to the same regardless of a state´s population). The big eye-catcher is tiny Vermont´s staggering $208 million. The nation´s second-least populous state (626,000 as of 2012) has 0.2 percent of the U.S. population, but has received 4.6
On Saturday, President Barack Obama devoted his weekly address to the nation to remember the massacre of children and school teachers in Newtown, Connecticut, one year ago today. Obama said that the nation “must do more” to prevent future tragedies like what occurred at Newtown. “These tragedies must end,” the president insisted. “More than the tragedy itself, that’s how Newtown will be remembered,” Obama said in his weekly address. “And on this anniversary of a day we will never forget, that’s the example we should continue to follow,” he continued, “because we haven’t yet done enough to make our communities
It was just a year ago last November and Lauren Weber remembered it as a “joyous event.” Her entire family journeyed from Fairhaven to Parris Island to watch her kid brother, Matt, fulfill the dream of his 18-year-old life and become a Marine, as his father had 40 years before. “My little brother was born to be a Marine,” Lauren said yesterday. “Matt idolized my dad, who was a Marine who fought in Vietnam. The whole family was there to celebrate Matt’s achievement and we were all so very proud.” And yet, nestled in the pride that warmed this family’s collective heart was the cold realization that just like his father,
Let me begin with a categorical statement that, given current events and recent political history, can be easily defended: Barack Hussein Obama is a willful, indoctrinated child of the Left with strong Islamic sympathies who is not fit to govern. Indeed, he would not be fit to govern Lower Slobovia, let alone the United States of America. Obama is a historic disaster of the first magnitude and, if not restrained, he will see to the irrevocable decline of the country which foolishly elected him, leaving the world on the brink of a conflict — or in the midst of one — whose repercussions cannot be underestimated. Accompanying the undeniable havoc
AS his popularity plummets to historic lows and his presidential legacy is in tatters, BARACK OBAMA has suffered a shocking secret meltdown. White House insiders say the deeply depressed Commander-in-Chief is hardly eating or sleeping, hasn’t talked to First Lady Michelle, 49, in weeks and is convinced everyone hates him! “Barack is shattered that his presidency and his life are in free-fall,” says a source. “He can’t believe the American public has turned on him so viciously, mainly because of the Obamacare disaster. No one has been able to help him. “Michelle has tried everything she can to comfort him, but he just snaps,
In his 1952 book The Origins of Totalitarian Democracy, Israeli historian J. L. Talmon described a political system in which lawfully elected representatives rule a nation state whose citizens, although granted the right to vote, have little or no participation in the decision-making process of government. The federal government has become such a system, an entity unto itself operating outside of Constitutional constraints and unaccountable to the American people. The United States is now controlled by a Democratic and Republican ruling class that transcends government and sees itself as distinct from the rest of society and as the only element that may
Columnist Charles Krauthammer attacked new Obamacare rules unveiled by HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius in a late Thursday conference call, saying the Obama administration is “approach[ing] banana republic lawlessness” by issuing the decrees. Krauthammer spoke with Fox News’ Bret Baier on a panel with Juan Williams and Judge Andrew Napolitano, as the three reacted to Sebelius’ new directives for insurance companies. “This is exactly a reaction to a deep understanding among Democrats that [Obamacare] is a train wreck,” he said. “And it’s a panic reaction. As the judge said, this is utterly lawless. This now approaches banana republic lawlessness.
Early news reports have identified the Arapahoe High School gunman as Karl Halverson Pierson, an 18-year-old student. Pierson is believed to be responsible for wounding one other student before shooting and killing himself with a shotgun. The Denver Post reports that Pierson had "very strong political beliefs" and that one Facebook post he authored tore into Republicans as political party that wanted to let people die: "[Y]ou republicans are so cute" and posting an image that reads: "The Republican Party: Health Care: Let ´em Die, Climate Change: Let ´em Die, Gun Violence: Let ´em Die, Women´s Rights: Let ´em Die,
The parents of Trayvon Martin met with publishers this week to shop a book about their son, the unarmed black teenager who was shot and killed in Florida in 2012. According to two publishing executives who participated in meetings, Mr. Martin’s parents, Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin, said they intended to write a book that gives the full picture of their son while tracing their own experience of shock and sorrow. The meetings were described as somber and moving by publishers who were present. Ms. Fulton and Mr. Martin were accompanied by Jan Miller, their Dallas-based literary agent. One publishing executive said Mr.
In a game-changer for the legal fight over same-sex marriage that gives credence to opponents’ “slippery slope” arguments, a federal judge has now ruled that the legal reasoning for same-sex marriage means that laws against polygamy are likewise unconstitutional. In his 91-page opinion in Brown v. Buhman, on Dec. 13, U.S. District Judge Clark Waddoups struck down Utah’s law making polygamy a crime. In so doing, he may have opened Pandora’s Box. As a condition for becoming a state in 1896, Congress required Utah to outlaw polygamy, which is marriage between three or more persons. This case involved a family of
WASHINGTON – It’s not exactly a ringing endorsement of the budget deal.“Embrace the suck,” House minority leader Rep. Nancy Pelosi told fellow Democrats Thursday morning, a source told Politico.“We need to get this off the table so we can go forward,” she added. It’s a way of telling her colleagues the budget deal negotiated with Republicans is the best they can get. Democrats are fuming that the bipartisan budget deal doesn’t extend unemployment benefits for more than a million Americans. One of Pelosi’s top lieutenants, Rep. Chris Van Hollen, the top Democrat on the House Budget Committee, said Thursday it
Fearing that many people will think they have health insurance coverage when they do not, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius is "urging" insurance companies to "give consumers additional time to pay their first month´s premium and still have coverage beginning Jan. 1, 2014." Insurance companies should cover people who haven´t yet paid, in other words. With just a few weeks to go until Obamacare takes full effect, Sebelius announced additional changes on Thursday, some that tell insurance companies how to run their business and others that "strongly" encourage insurance companies to waive their rules -- on premium payments,
What we know: Racism has left a vast legacy of violence. Bigotry in America has marginalized a diverse range of minority culture. It dashes the hopes of children. What we didn´t know: Bias based on race costs the United States a shade under $2 trillion a year. (Snip) Addressing factors such as health care inequities, unjustified incarceration disparities, and lesser employment and education opportunities would generate 12 percent more annual U.S. earnings, the study found. Among the more striking findings cited are a U.S. Department of Commerce study estimating that minority purchasing power would increase from $4.3 trillion to $6.1
The United States named a new Full Admiral in Washington, D.C. Friday--and it´s an African American woman. She´s will be the first ever female in Naval history to win a fourth star assuming the Senate approves President Obama´s nomination. The Navy announced her nomination in an official release. Vice admiral Michelle Howard,53, is currently the deputy chief of naval operations, plans, and strategy. She will serve as the Navy´s second ranking officer, (Snip) Although when asked about whether she faces racism within the service she responded, ´Sexism within the service, and racism outside the service.´
A landmark budget agreement that passed in the U.S. House on Thursday faces certain death in the Senate unless at least five Republicans step up to support it--but so far there are no takers at all. The GOP´s Senate leaders plan to launch a procedural effort to kill the plan over a laundry list of objections--including a claim that it short-changes military veterans and other government retirees. Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin conceded that he needs to find Republicans who will vote for the measure after Republicans announced their intention Thursday night to block the deal. ´We need Republican votes to pass
