The New York Times takes down
the Clinton Foundation. This could be
devastating for Bill and Hillary

Telegraph (U.K.), by Tim Stanley

Original Article

Posted By:Drive, 8/14/2013 12:46:56 PM

Is the New York Times being guest edited by Rush Limbaugh? Today it runs with a fascinating takedown of the Clinton Foundation – that vast vanity project that conservatives are wary of criticising for being seen to attack a body that tries to do good. But the liberal NYT has no such scruples. The killer quote is this: For all of its successes, the Clinton Foundation had become a sprawling concern, supervised by a rotating board of old Clinton hands, vulnerable to distraction and threatened by conflicts of interest. It ran multimillion-dollar deficits for several years, despite vast amounts of money

Nothing to get excited about. Just a blip on the radar, soon to disappear.

The Clinton Foundation is what it has always been--a scam to funnel money to the Clintons lifestyle tax free. Only little people pay taxes.

I ran across teasers for this story at several sites and was trying to find it to post. While I was writing to the Staff to ask them why I couldn´t find it, the Staff already solved the mystery.

Dang!!!

FTA The reality is that this is a man who – in May 1993 – prevented other planes from landing at LAX for 90 minues while he got a haircut from a Beverley Hills hairdresser aboard Air Force One. The Clintons are populists in the same way that Barack Obama is a Nobel prize winner. Oh, wait…"
Liberal hypocrisy on display- the über rich and their deliberately impoverished, illiterate and illegal supporters.
Why did the Bushes rehabilitate Bill after he left in disgrace and enable the Clinton´s to maintain power and money?

1. Bears and woods; Popes going to Mass; crooks are crooked -- what amazing new discoveries we are making!

2. "What Difference Does It Make?"

If Hillary wins in 2016, G-d forbid, US gov´t license plates will have that slogan, like states have their slogans.

3. FTA: the Clinton Foundation [is] a sprawling concern, supervised by a rotating board of old Clinton hands, vulnerable to distraction and threatened by conflicts of interest.

3a. Of course they hire accompl-- I mean, "cronies" [ahem]. You don´t hire for competence unless you are trying to be objectively productive.
3b. One man´s "distraction" or "conflict of interest" is another man´s raison d´etre.

4. FTA: how corporations invest in politicians as a way of building their brand and raising their stock price.

I disagree. Honest corporations spend on pols as a defense against competitors who own other pols, and against predatory regulations. Crooked corps do so for crooked reasons.

5. Even with the plastic surgery, Chelsea still doesn´t look like Bill or Hill, but some... other... person. No name comes to mind.

6. FTA: Over a year ago Bill Clinton met with some aides and lawyers to review the Foundation´s progress and concluded that it was a mess.

Gotta be organized! Otherwise, how to know if you´re getting the maximum skim, and that you´ll look "legit enough" to provide excuses to friendly "regulators" and "investigative journalists"?

I vividly remember when this Foundation raised money for the devastated Island of Haiti...over 10 years ago. People gave generously multi-millions of dollars. To this day very little has been rebuilt, the people still live in devastating poverty with little hope. But there are bulging pockets somewhere!

Old friends on board. Are they the same ones who made exorbitant amounts of money off Freddie and Fannie?

Anyone who believes there isn´t corruption inside this foundation is a fool.

It seems the Clintons copied the model upon which Tony and Cherie Blair run their various foundations. See, e.g.:

Then there´s this one - "Between them, the Blairs’ charities have received almost £1 million from the American government." (Via USAID when the Aitch was SoS:

There are many more articles (search on Blair and Houses, e.g.) but the above should give you enough material.

Attorney General Eric Holder‘s planned meeting with mainstream media outlets’ Washington bureau chiefs have been stalled after the Justice Department indicated that the conversations would be off-the-record. With much of the debate over the DOJ’s subpoena guidelines revolving around reporter James Rosen, Fox News clearly has a vested interest in the outcome of the meeting. Here’s a thought for the day: Most people are “nice”, but Christians should be nice with a purpose. I am not a fan of the sitcom Rev, which depicts a vicar trying to be kind to his parishioners – with hilarious consequences. His congregation is small, full of delinquents, and the eponymous clergymen is often driven to drink by their unholy antics. Justin Welby disagrees with the show’s depiction of Anglican life because he notes that many churches are growing. The Rev’s, by contrast, conforms to a self-lacerating vision of Christianity as nice but niche. But self-laceration is the stock-in-trade of the

Louisiana Democratic Sen. What Landrieu did to invite the ridicule was to re-create for her ad producers her own performance in a Senate hearing -- complete with set, supporting cast, fake nameplate, and even phony news chyrons -- to show her standing up for her state. The unspoken message of the ad -- something Landrieu could never say directly -- is that

The administration’s “smart diplomacy” does not include providing aid to those who fight internal oppression or outside aggression and whose victory potentially would obviate the need for direct U.S. action. Hence, President Obama gave Iran’s Green Revolution the cold shoulder in June 2009. He denied aid, and then dragged his feet on delivering aid to non-jihadi rebels in Syria. Now, it should come as no surprise, he is unwilling to provide Ukraine with military aid or intelligence to defend itself against Russian aggression.

Although the Civil Rights Act, the landmark legislation which just reached its 50th anniversary, made great strides in desegregating the economy, economic discrimination is still widespread, and anti-discrimination legislation alone can never rectify the economic damage inflicted upon blacks by slavery and our Jim Crow apartheid regime. The Civil Rights Act was a mild reform, all things considered, but one conservatives fought with vigor and one many conservatives are still bitter about to this day. When the Civil Rights Act passed in 1964, the primary purpose was to root out discrimination in public accommodations (like hotels and movie theaters)

Toddlers show racial bias when picking playmates, a study reveals. They also take account of how fairly others behave. Researchers tested the reaction of white 15-month-olds as toys were distributed. Two white adults divided the toys, one equally and the other unequally. Seventy per cent of the toddlers chose to play with the researcher who distributed the toys fairly. But in a second test, when one researcher favoured a white recipient over an Asian one, they picked the ‘fair’ researcher less often, the journal Frontiers in Psychology reports. And the babies are more likely to help those who share the same ethnicity, which is known as

Casual marijuana use may come with some not-so-casual side effects. For the first time ever, researchers at Northwestern University have analyzed the relationship between casual use of marijuana and brain changes – and found that young adults who used cannabis just once or twice a week showed significant abnormalities in two important brain structures. The study’s findings, to be published Wednesday in the Journal of Neuroscience, are similar to those of past research linking chronic, long-term marijuana use with mental illness and changes in brain development. Dr. Hans Breiter, co-senior study author, said he was inspired to look at the effects of casual

Hank Aaron’s recent comments about the need for America to realize that racism is still very much alive and thriving — only now due to those who wear “neckties and starched shirts” rather than KKK hoods — has sparked an angry backlash and many fans are turning the tables, calling the baseball legend himself a racist. “Hank Aaron is a s*****g piece of [expletive] [racial slur],” one man said in an email to the Atlanta Braves’ front office, one of the teams Mr. Aaron used to play for, CBS News reported. “My old man instilled in my mind from a

Western Washington University sent a questionnaire to students asking them for advice on how the administration could succeed at making sure that in future years, “we are not as white as we are today.” The question notes that WWU’s racial make up does not perfectly reflect the nation at large, and asks students to consider strategies that other universities have used to focus on skin color as the paramount indicator of a student-applicant’s worth. The president of WWU has stated that his explicit goal is to reduce the white population on campus, according to Campus Reform. “I’ve said before and I’ll say it

Funny question in the headline, yes? But since President Obama worries more about the threat of terrorists´ improvised nuclear device going off in a major American city than anything Russia can throw at us, I was wondering if the government had deigned to share with us citizens any tips for, you know, surviving something their own intelligence points to as the likeliest unlikely Black Swan event. Well, no. And yes. No — very few people in Washington, D.C., who work for the government have any idea what they would do if a 10-kiloton nuclear device exploded at the intersection of 16th and K

Look, everyone loves Sean Connery, particularly Sean Connery. That’s why he plays Sean Connery in every movie he’s in. People love that Scottish brogue so much, they don’t mind that he has it when he plays Juan Sánchez Villa-Lobos Ramírez, an immortal Spaniard in Highlander. The guy even won an Oscar for playing an Irish cop with a Scottish accent. Talk about sexist double standards: Meryl Streep has to master foreign dialects to get her golden statuettes. Connery just has to show up on time. In economics you devalue a currency by printing too much of it. In film you
