The hunting of George Zimmerman
Politicsweb [South Africa], by James Myburgh

Original Article

Introduction Last month´s not guilty verdict in the trial of George Zimmerman on second degree murder and manslaughter charges for the killing of the black 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, in Sanford, Florida, on February 26 last year, has provoked a flurry of discussion in the US mainstream media on the issues of racial profiling and Stand Your Ground laws (which remove the duty to retreat in self-defence cases.) (Snip)Zimmerman´s defence rested on a pure self-defence claim (he was not in a position to retreat when he shot Martin), while the prosecution, much as they would have liked to, could produce no

Comments:
This is a stunning piece, a detailed compilation of information on this case from Day One. It is a serious piece of work, a must read for anyone who knows bits and pieces about this unusual case, and also for some of us who thought we knew a great deal, that nothing could surprise us. To see all of this information, this narrative, pulled together like this is quite extraordinary.

Print it off and read it. It is not just about George Zimmerman.

Unfortunately the part of the intro that talked about Myburgh´s main point - that the media and the justice system were complicit with the Scheme Team´s (Fulton-Martin-Lawyer Crump) "hunting" of George Zimmerman took a simple case of self-defense and distorted it into something much different - was left on the cutting room floor.

In today´s world, if a simple guy like George Zimmerman can end up in a media and "justice"-driven frenzy like this, his life ruined and probably threatened forever, it could happen to just about any of us.

The author did miss one thing - Sybrina´s initial statement (before they Crumped up) was that she believed her son´s shooting was "an accident".

Myburgh also gets Holder´s title wrong.

Please read for content and skip the proofreading, OK? It´s that important...

Here is the essence of this piece, which is extremely well-done, interesting - and depressing.

This article then will trace the evolution of the controversy over the shooting death of Trayvon Martin and the way information was presented (or "fed") to the press, and measure it against what we now know. It will then go on to discuss what this case says about the "two systems" that sought to have George Zimmerman arrested, tried and sent to jail for life.

This was the finest recapitulation of the case and trial that has been presented. The MSM should hang their heads in shame. It took someone from far away in South Africa to do the job they should have done.

When you have read the timeline narrative, which (as someone else has posted) included information I´d not seen in all my reading, you get to this:

The Trayvon Martin story is a case study in how, even in the modern day, an advanced industrialised democracy can completely lose its senses; and how difficult it is for it to then recover them. In this particular matter a whole society seemingly fixed its mind on the one object of having George Zimmerman arrested, convicted and sent to jail for life, in reckless disregard of the evidence and the law. The mainstream media, so-called civil rights organisations, the Democrat President of the US, the US Attorney General, the Republican Governor of Florida and his Attorney General, and State Attorney Angela Corey all combined forces in an effort to destroy a single, isolated individual.

.......

The failures of the mainstream media in their reporting on this case were manifold. The claims of the Martin family team should have, from the beginning, been treated with some degree of caution. Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin, and their lawyers, had two motivations in campaigning in the way that they did for the arrest of George Zimmerman. The one was obviously vengeance, the other greed. Following the arrest of Zimmerman Benjamin Crump sent a letter on May 9 to the Retreat at Twin Lakes´ Homeowners´ Association announcing the intention of Tracy Martin and Sybrina Fulton to file suit. This had always been the intention of the Martin family and their lawyers. Natalie Jackson had sent a letter to the HOA on March 14 2012 demanding that they preserve any evidence relating to the shooting death of Trayvon Martin. The Martin team reached a settlement agreement with the HOA´s insurers in early April 2013, which Zimmerman´s lawyers estimated amounted to over a million dollars.

Myburgh´s indictment of the media is stinging and well-deserved. This was a shameful exercise of their power to shape public opinion. Yet ABC News continued - even through the trial and afterward - to feature Matt Guttman as its main reporter on this case. Shameful, shameful, shameful.

I was not clear on the time-line [an approximate two week period] between when it happened and when the Martin narrative --put forth by lying lawyers and lying parents, got completely out of control, helped along with toadie media; with Zimmerman in hiding and the Sanford PD maintaining silence as to the details, the hoodwink was a cake walk for Crump & Company.

The account of Martin´s actions --what he was doing when Zimmerman first encountered him, confirms my belief that Martin was casing the Retreat that night for a burglary.

I could never figure out why the kid would decide to truck off the the 7-11 for a fruit drink and Skittles when it was pouring rain, and why he wasn´t hurrying to get inside out of the rain when Zimmerman encountered him; he was just wandering around, looking at the townhouses.

Looking for burglary target was all I could come up with. I think having his burglary plan thwarted is what set off his anger and caused him to jump Zimmerman.

It´s what I believe.

This is, by far, the best and most detailed account of this near-travesty of justice that I have seen. I´ve downloaded all 22 pages for later review/reference.

And the best part? From a South African news source. The hateful hegemony of the American media is truly finished.

The mainstream media "reporting" had the stink of the Duke LaCrosse case all over it from day one on this case. The prosecutor seemed like a Nifong devotee, even the criminal New Black Panthets chimed in with their lies and filth. The NAACP goons acted like they were vengeful Dunces along with their lackeys in the Obama regime, including Eric Holder and even Obama chimed in with a disgraceful manner. Disgusting performance all the way around from the mainstream media and the Obama regime complex. Glad I don´t watch TV anymore. From what I gather the TV coverage was sickening and biased.

I followed the case in extreme detail, thanks to the people at conservativetreehouse. Sundance was the one responsible for uncovering the MD Police cover-up of Trayvons´ crimes, as well as the school. Had he been properly punished for his crimes he would have been nowhere near Sanford Florida, complicating the lives of everyone that came in contact with him.

The failure rests not just with the parents but a bloodthirsty media, and a corrupt, complicit DOJ. They not only funded the rallies where the New Black Panther Party partcipated, as was uncovered by Judicial Watch, but looked the other way when NBPP put a hit on Geoge Zimmermans´ life.

Sundance also discovered tweets where Trayvons´ father, nicknamed Fruit, appears to be helping him buy and sell guns.

And yet, where is the media? Focused on the Scheme Team, the racial bias, creating a race war, and dividing and conquering.

And where is the expose on Ryan Jullison, the publicist that put all of this into play for the Martin Family for free, who may have capitalized greatly off of this? One never sees mention on Ryan Jullison, yet he was the mainstay in getting the Scheme Team on television and in the news to begin with. Thank goodness his Facebook and website postings and tweets are preserved at tcth, in all their glory, for all to read. Since he scrubbed them, and all...

And there, but for the grace of God, go I.
