Pentagon Considers Combatant
Command Consolidation Plan

Breitbart´s Big Peace, by Peter Schweizer

Original Article

Posted By:KarenJ1, 8/14/2013 10:39:21 AM

The Pentagon says it is considering sequester-induced overhauls that could mean shuttering two combatant commands, eight service-supporting commands, and the elimination of some 5,000 uniformed and civilian personnel. With defense spending facing roughly $500 billion in cuts over the next ten years, the Pentagon is examining the possibility of combining Northern Command and Southern Command, dissolving Africa Command and divvying it up between European Command and Central Command, and expanding Pacific Command to encompass Afghanistan and Pakistan. The move to merge Northern and Southern Command would also likely signal the increasing involvement of the U.S. military in law enforcement activities

Comments:
This disastrous overhaul is sequester-induced?? The government is spending more than they ever have on food stamps and welfare benefits and they continue to destroy the military?? This is just outrageous and disturbing.

I´ve seen this exact plan...in 1912 the captain of the Titanic ordered all deck chairs to be rearranged to accomodate more passengers that couldn´t get on lifeboats (many were launched 1/2 full).

Now that went well didn´t it?

I can tell you first hand there is no need for NORTHCOM. Their whole purpose is to take command and control away from the National Guard during stateside emergencies.

What is the defense budget over the next 10 years? Between 10 and 20 trillion? That´s assuming the politicians don´t start any more wars we have no intention of winning.
500 billion is peanuts. They always overstate the impact of any cut, just like every other federal agency. Its how they keep their budgets so bloated in the first place.

On March 25, MRCTV´s Dan Joseph ventured into Washington D.C. to speak with some pro-Obamacare protestors, who assembled outside the Supreme Court to protest Hobby Lobby´s case against the abortion pill/contraception mandate in Obamacare. In light of the movement to ban the word “bossy,” Joseph asked if it was "bossy" to force companies, which have First Amendment rights, to buy things that goes against their owners’ religious convictions? Some protestors said, “No” – and some couldn’t even understand the question. While navigating through the crowd, Joseph encountered a woman in a burqa. Let´s call her "Taliban Tina." You gotta get ‘em while they’re young. A rumbling is beginning among feminists to try to get their ideology put to use in the classroom. In an article on Pandagon, the liberal blog that gave rise to Ezra Klein, a feminist mom calling herself “Glosswitch” brought up the issue: “When I think of the blind faith in gender that surrounds [her son], I’m not feeling so comfortable. It’s not just that the stereotypes are limiting on an individual basis. They are everywhere and they embed, ever so gradually, the sense that is natural for women and girls to be decorative,

The Obama administration on Thursday announced that it was updating Medicare rules to allow partners in same-sex marriages to apply for benefits during special enrollment periods. The Department of Health and Human Services said that the Social Security Administration would now be able to take applications for special enrollment periods for Medicare Part A and Part B and reduce late penalties for some eligible same-sex couples. The move is the latest step taken by HHS after the Supreme Court in 2013 struck down a key part of the federal Defense of Marriage Act, which defined marriage as a union between one man

Former White House press secretary Robert Gibbs predicted on Wednesday that the Obama administration would scrap the employer mandate, which has already been delayed twice. “I don´t think the employer mandate will go into effect. It´s a small part of the law. I think it will be one of the first things to go,” Gibbs, President Obama´s former top spokesman, said at the Benefits Selling Expo in Colorado Springs, Colo. Earlier this year, the administration delayed the employer mandate for a second time, giving companies with between 50 and 99 employees until 2016 to offer insurance coverage to their workers or pay

Barack Obama declared victory this week as the deadline to avoid the penalty for the individual mandate to carry health insurance passed on Monday. “The Affordable Care Act is here to stay,” the President insisted as he announced that 7.1 million people had enrolled in private insurance through Obamacare. “The debate over repealing this law is over.” Consider that presidential wish casting in a midterm cycle in which Democrats will have to constantly defend their support for the unpopular law. Before getting to the speech itself, it’s worth noting a few things. When the Democrats passed and Barack Obama signed Obamacare, the majority opposed it. About 56%, in fact. A majority have consistently opposed that law ever since. That 7 million figure looked totally unreachable. So Sebelius does what every other member of the Obama administration does when confronted with inconvenient facts. She lied. A triumphant President Barack Obama declared his signature medical insurance overhaul a success, saying it has made America´s health care system ´a lot better.´ But buried in the 7.1 million enrollments he announced in a heavily staged Rose Garden appearance is a more unsettling reality. Numbers from a RAND Corporation study that has been kept under wraps suggest that barely 858,000 previously uninsured Americans – nowhere near 7.1 million – have paid for new policies and joined the ranks of the insured by Monday night. Others were already insured, including millions who lost coverage when their existing policies were suddenly

A proposal is in the works that would change the state tax system to charge drivers by the mile, instead of at the gas pump. The proposal would be to charge a half cent per mile for cars, which would generate almost $500 million in annual state revenue. A driver who travelled 15,000 miles in a year would pay about $75. "Basically you pay per the mile. With Chris Christie in deep trouble, Republican poobahs are reportedly looking to Jeb Bush to save their party in 2016. The former two-term governor of Florida speaks fluent Spanish, is a convert to Catholicism, and has high name recognition. Jeb could raise millions of dollars over night by just saying “yes” to running. Despite all this, there are strong reasons Republicans should say no to him. 1. His last name is poison. Let’s face it, if Jeb Bush had the last name of Something Else he would have already run for president in 2008 or 2012. According to a recent Washington Post/ABC News poll registered voters were asked if they would definitely NOT vote for Jeb Bush and 50 percent said they would not.
