When the law no longer commands respect, one can pretty well write off a nation that pretends to be a constitutional republic. But how can The People respect the law when the government doesn´t? President Obama seems to regard the law as a mere inconvenience. In his must-read August 5 article "The Front Man" at National Review, Kevin Williamson sums up our Harvard Law School president´s taste for lawlessness: "He has spent the past five years methodically testing the limits of what he can get away with, like one of those crafty velociraptors testing the electric fence in Jurassic Park."
I agree, stop it or enforce the entire mess. The S.C. did the wrong thing, and Chief Justice Roberts is still a coward. Furthermore, must mention once again, the hard working poor American taxpayer is being forced to pay for 75% of the AFA for the Incredibly Greedy Congresscritters and their Greedy Staffers.

Exactly, #2. All members of Congress took an oath to defend the Constitution. I know the Dems had their fingers crossed when they took the oath. But where is the GOP? They need to ignore the stupidity of rodeo clowns, Jodi Arias, etc, and have a constant drumbeat protesting what this President is doing to the Constitution.
I used to believe, as does 2, that it was entirely because of his race. With the hits (IMHO) on Breitbart, and now Hastings, I think it very likely the Republican congress critters actually fear for their lives. That´s what happens in a dictatorship; the Loyal Opposition serves no purpose and is ripe for elimination.
Obama War Room: 3 a.m., 9 a.m.- What Difference does It Make?
JAY CARNEY: (handing president phone) Biden, sir. Says it’s urgent. OBAMA: Cripes, Joe. I’m on the tee in five minutes. I told you to handle things while I’m on holiday. What’s the problem?
A massive blast, a mushroom cloud, and half of Manhattan gone. So? What do you want me to do about it?
Look, just say it was a gas line explosion that could have been prevented had Republicans not blocked investments in the nation’s infrastructure. And from now on I’m incommunicado, understand?
That’s just an expression, Joe. No, I haven’t converted to Catholicism. [hangs up] Sheesh!
VALERIE JARRETT: John Brennan’s on line 2, sir. His people estimate a 9 kiloton bomb detonated in Grand Central’s Main Concourse at 3 a.m. Brennan said he tried to call you but the White House switchboard wouldn’t put him through at that hour. SUSAN RICE: It’s on Al Jazeera. Al Qaida’s already taken credit. OBAMA: Jay, tell what’s left of the Times and the alphabets to spike al Qaida’s claim. Put Director Brennan on speaker. [pause] John, how sure are you it was a nuke? BRENNAN: A team from the Nuclear Regulatory Agency is on site, sir. They’re sure. OBAMA: Round those people up and have them sign non-disclosure agreements. Then give them new identities and disperse them throughout the country. JARRETT: We need a backup story in case the gas line story doesn’t fly, sir. OBAMA: Okay, um, a meteorite strike. Or an earthquake. You people work it out. I’m off to the course.
[enter First Lady]
MICHELLE: Bo and I are helicoptering to Nantucket this afternoon for a run. I want the island evacuated between 2 and 4 to ensure our privacy. You hear me, Barack?
The Cafeteria President . He willfully and unconstitutionally picks and chooses which laws he will ignore or enforce. There have been no consequences for him even though his administration is responsible for multiple deaths.
All of Washington is lawless. Liars and thieves run the nation. Stealing money and power is what this is all about. The nation and it´s people are not in the plan. The demise of a once great nation is the plan and this group of despots Republicans except for a handful think they are the cream that will rise to the top and remain. Hitler felt like that in 1939.
IF Obama studied constitutional law, the goal was merely to find the weak spots, determine how to get around all the obstacles so that he could become the world´s next tyrant. And he´s doing a pretty good job of it. He, or his handlers did a good job of determining that the Constitution and a nation of laws were only so good as they could be enforced. We have run out of recourses to his gang´s assault. Our President has failed us, our Congress has failed us, SCOTUS has failed us, the media has failed us, and our ballot box is so permanently corrupted as to be laughable as a means of replacing this Administration. That leaves us no legal and peaceful recourse that I can see.
As for me, I’m going to take the example of my elite ‘betters’ and only follow those laws I agree with and ignore their edicts. I will live as an honest citizen and defend my endowed liberties should I bump up against the tyranny. I will not self-identify. I will not comply.
Ayn Rand’s “Atlas Shrugged” provides the solution to the regulatory state: withdraw your consent. The totalitarians depend on your cooperation. Don’t give it. The regime, although evil, is also clumsy and ineffectual in the implementation of their policies. I’m beginning to believe that the public apathy we have all battled may work in the favor of freedom. People just don’t care what the politicians and government are doing. In essence, the public has already “gone Galt”.
If Obama is a constitutional professor or lecturer why not have a debate between him and Mark Levin on the constitution. Mark will have the time now since I am sure the RNC will not take up his offer to moderate the candidate debates!
#2 is spot on. As a side note, I really like the new "Like this comment" feature, but I have decided to use it sparingly so as not to devalue its meaning. I clicked #2 several times, which is probably against the rules, but I am glad I was able to do it since #2 is such a simple and clear concise of exactly what our problem is.
It´s like the 55mph speed limit that was never enforced. Disregard for the law is now ingrained. We now have both parties justifying illegal aliens with no concern for the lawlessness. They broke the law, heh.
Uneven enforcement of the law gives enormous power to the enforcer to pick and choose who will be targeted. That is not cool either.
The House has the constitutional responsibility to impeach if it finds probable cause that the President is guilty of high crimes and misdemeanors. Whether the Senate is likely to convict is none of their concern.
The duty of the House is to move to impeach and vote on such motion, if probable cause exists. Period. To not do so based on a political calculation of what the Senate will do is malfeasance on the part of the House.
In Clinton´s case, the House did it´s duty in impeaching him. The same should occur in Obama´s case.
Has Barack Hussein Obama, if that’s one of his real names, ever made public the authentic credentials required to verify his legitimate occupancy of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue? No, he has not! Therefore, he is guilty of trespassing. As we all know, people who willingly trespass are untruthful. – For example, calling an Unaffordable Care Act an Affordable Care Act. – Also, as we all know, not in a million years will bovine excrement ever pass the smell test.
#5: Not all Dems took the oath of office "fingers crossed." At least one was relying on his religion´s requirement that he lie to advance that religion´s objectives [that is, a "world caliphate"].
#21: A big hat-tip of respect for seeing what matters and stating it. Thank you for pointing out that the first obligation is to do what´s right because it´s what´s right. Period.
Whether it´s likely to get the needed result right away, or be easy, or whatever else -- immaterial. Those are other issues, to be addressed separately. Thus they should not, cannot, control what we do.
Would we, for example, want our cancer research people to throw up their hands and stay home, saying, "Hey, there´s really no chance I´ll find the cure today, and the work´s really, really hard most days, so -- why bother?"
Congress has to let President Obama know that he will be held accountable for violating the law he is sworn to enforce. The remedy for what Obama is doing is impeachment. But would Obama pay attention if the House passed a Resolution of Reprimand detailing the impeachable charges against him, warning Obama to cease and desist from his unconstitutional actions while promising to proceed with full Impeachment Hearings if there is no change in the President´s conduct? This would have the benefit of alerting most of America to the seriousness of what the President is doing which most of the media now ignores or applauds.
#21, #22, & #24 are correct, IMHO. As #21 said: "The House has the constitutional responsibility to impeach if it finds probable cause that the President is guilty of high crimes and misdemeanors. Whether the Senate is likely to convict is none of their concern."
You can´t tell me that most members of the House don´t know that Obama is breaking the law when he flat out states that he won´t enforce what Congress passed and Obama signed.
#22 is spot on. Obama is guilty of trespassing since he has never presented the credentials that prove he is eligible to even run for the office of the presidency.
And last but not least, #24 is correct in stating that "Congress has to let President Obama know that he will be held accountable for violating the law he is sworn to enforce. The remedy for what Obama is doing is impeachment."
Okay, that´s it. It´s a done deal. EVERY ONE OF YOU, yes all of you, because of your comments regarding the president, each and every poster on this site is banned for life from being a rodeo clown in Missouri.
There was the episode that occurred at David Baldacci´s home in maine. C.J, Roberts fell or rolled off the dock. then there was the attack and lies on the supreme court at the State of the Union.Smearing them . Then there was the murder of a Federal appeal Judge in Tuscon. that goof-ball Laughner shot the judge and sent a message to all judges, imo. then attcks on the Roberts court was next and how the signature achievement of the first Black Prsident just couldn´t be blocked by the Supremes. Then there was the errors at the swearing in of Obama andRoberts didn´t say the 16 word,plus-or-minus oath, properly. this led t o Obama taking the Oath again in Roberts office allegedly without the Bible and amidst a lot of joking and Laughter and stupid stuff. Then the switcheroo on ACA. We can´t rely on the supremes for the rest of most of our days. The supreme ct is on their own....
When the Pelosi-Reid-Obama troika triumphantly celebrated cramming through the ACA (Affordable Care Act) over majority sentiment, they crowed that this was the president´s signature achievement and ACA soon took on the name of its creator, ObamaCare. Though not one of them, nor any of the Democrats in the Senate who voted it into law uni-partisanly had read it, they all assured us that we´d grow to really, really like it. Boy, were they wrong.
A new report from the Texas-based Quorum Report, published by longtime Texas journalist Harvey Kronberg, says that House Speaker John Boehner plans to push amnesty legislation through the House, after the primary filing deadline for candidates. The move would prevent Tea Party from challenging GOP lawmakers who support amnesty in 2014. Scott Braddock reported on Tuesday that “in recent weeks, various Texas business interests have told Quorum Report that Boehner has been telling them that he will start holding immigration votes not long after the filing deadline has passed.”
The historic IT disaster known as the Obamacare web site has been of intense interest to me, since I´ve been a Senior Software Engineer for decades, and I have personally participated in, witnessed, and reported on (as a technology reporter) a number of IT disasters. But even so, the size of the Obamacare web site catastrophe on October 1 still takes my breath away. When I first heard, shortly after October 1, that there was 500 million lines of code in Healthcare.gov, I quickly rejected that figure, because it´s impossible.
In politics, process matters often nearly as much as — if not more than — substance, and the procedure by which the filibuster was weakened last week by Senate Democrats is likely far more problematic than the rank hypocrisy of their doing so. It is hard to view the Democratic majority’s use of the “nuclear option” as anything other than an admission of weakness and of curbed ambition. After the increasingly problematic Obamacare debacle, it seems as though President Obama and his fellow Democrats have given up the hope of governing through a national consensus. Instead, Obama has signaled that
It may be that the best way conservatives can win an important political battle is to appear not to be fighting one. Harry Reid’s nuking of the Senate filibuster last week might provide the perfect opportunity. Ideologues may not want to hear this, but bear with me. The American electorate desperately wants to see somebody important appear to put the public good ahead of partisanship. Surveys for years have made this clear. The first party to convincingly offer a constructive middle ground — somewhere, anywhere — will be the first party to start escaping the astonishingly low poll numbers that plague
On Tuesday, November 12, Nebraska Senate candidate Ben Sasse walked into Mitch McConnell’s office to clear the air. Contrary to the rumors, Sasse wanted to say, he hadn’t secretly vowed to oppose McConnell’s leadership if elected. In fact, he hadn’t been asked to make such a pledge and would never have even considered it. That was the plan, anyway. As soon as Sasse sat down, McConnell lit into him, criticizing him for working with the Senate Conservatives Fund (SCF) as well as for posting a viral YouTube video in which he demanded “every Republican in Washington, starting with Minority Leader
Unless you live under a rock, you’ve heard by now that 52 Senate Democrats voted to end the filibuster for executive branch and judicial nominees after eight years of employing it against President George W. Bush. The hypocrisy is award-worthy. And unless you can’t get cable or radio signals under that rock, you’ve no doubt heard clips from 2005 of every prominent Democrat speaking on the sanctity of the filibuster and against the “nuclear option,” and every prominent Republican saying the opposite. Control of the Senate and White House has flipped since then, and the scripts have too. But here’s
De Blasio’s recent mayoral victory was a sad day for New Yorkers. Electing him was proof that the constituency in NYC is morally, philosophically, and educationally bankrupt. And if the mayor sticks to his positions that he declared as candidate De Blasio, NYC will be financially bankrupt as well. A strong argument can be made that the entire election was a public service union push. For four years now, the public service unions have waited to negotiate their contracts until Bloomberg was out of office. The time has come for the unions. De Blasio, from a position of patronage, will roll
Fresh off the disastrous rollout of Obamacare which Senate Majority Leader Reid and (now former) Speaker of the House Pelosi rammed through Congress using unconventional procedures and with zero Republican support, his extremist wing compelled him to make yet another ham-handed move which predictably will hurt his party in the long run more than it will help it. Since the issue has for the most part been poorly explained in the major media, let me explain what has happened and why I think this will prove a major miscalculation.
A great deal of attention has been focused on the political fallout that Democrats in Congress will face because of their support for ObamaCare. Beyond video of Mary Landrieu in 2009 saying just what Obama was saying about people being allowed to keep their old health plans, surely the video of Nancy Pelosi that we had to "pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it" ought to be part of any Republican´s campaign against Democrats in the congressional midterm elections.
The second presidential midterm has historically been a disaster for the political party whose man is in the White House. In 2006, Republicans lost both houses of Congress as Bush fatigue not only led voters to vote against Republicans, but also led many Republicans to stay home. Although there have been a few anomalies -- like 1998, when the Senate Republicans´ cravenness in Clinton´s impeachment trial opened the door for modest Democrat gains; in 1986; in 1974; in 1966; in 1958; and in 1942 (a third midterm, but in a four-term presidency) -- the party in power generally suffers dramatic
A major GOP donor who told Breitbart News Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell made disparaging remarks about the Tea Party movement and about Sens. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Mike Lee (R-UT) continues to stand by his original story after claims that the reports were not accurate. This individual reported that on the Oct. 30 fundraising call American Crossroads’ Karl Rove and Steven J. Law held with McConnell, “McConnell specifically talked about Mike Lee by name, specifically talked about Ted Cruz by name, and he specifically talked about the Tea Party by name,” the donor told Breitbart News in response to a
When I was a kid, I knew two different Santa Clauses. The first had a fat belly, rosy cheeks, a long white beard, and skin as pink as bubble gum. He was omnipresent, visiting my pre-school and the local mall, visible in all of my favorite Christmas specials. Then there was the Santa in my family’s household, in the form of ornaments, cards, and holiday figurines. A near-carbon copy of the first one—big belly, rosy cheeks, long white beard: check, check, check. But his skin was as dark as mine. Seeing two different Santas was bewildering. Eventually I asked my father what
US President Barack Obama may have moved the masses attending Nelson Mandela’s memorial service with his stirring eulogy, but it was his grinning "selfie" with the Danish and British premiers that set social networks abuzz. In a candid moment captured by a photographer, Denmark’s Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt can be seen holding up her smartphone, with Obama lending a helping hand, as they pose for a picture with David Cameron, all three of them smiling broadly in their seats at Soweto’s World Cup stadium.(Snip)Mashable, the news and technology website, ran the photograph under the headline: ‘‘Dear Obama: Funerals are no place
Johannesburg - A man who provided sign language interpretation on stage for Nelson Mandela´s memorial service, attended by scores of heads of state, was a "fake," the national director of the Deaf Federation of South Africa said on Tuesday. Asked about the claim by The Associated Press, South Africa´s government said it was preparing a statement. Three sign language experts said the man was not signing in South African or American sign languages. South African sign language covers all of the country´s 11 official languages, according to the federation. It wasn´t immediately clear if the unidentified man was using a
On his way to the podium at the memorial ceremony for former South African president Nelson Mandela, President Obama walked down the line of dignitaries, greeting other leaders there to pay their respects. Among the hands shaken: that of Cuban leader Raul Castro. Obama neither made a special effort to shake Castro’s hand nor to avoid him. A snub might have been awkward: In his speech, Obama praised Mandela’s “greatest gift” as “his recognition that we are all bound together in ways that can be invisible to the eye; that there is a oneness to humanity; that we achieve ourselves by
House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) snapped at conservative groups that have come out in opposition to the budget deal reached Wednesday between Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) and Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.). "They´re using the American people for their own purposes. This is ridiculous," Boehner said at a press conference with other members of House Republican leadership on Wednesday. Over the past few days, a number of conservative groups have blasted the deal because it sets discretionary spending levels in the budget higher than previous levels under sequestration. In the past three days, the influential Heritage Action, Club for Growth, Americans
A black fashion student says he was brutally attacked by a gang of Hasidic men who shouted anti-gay slurs at him while he was walking through Williamsburg after a night of partying, the Daily News has learned. Taj Patterson, 22, was headed home to Fort Greene around 4:30 a.m. on Dec. 1 when he says more than a dozen ultra-Orthodox Jewish men began assaulting him on Flushing Ave. and yelling, “Stay down, f----t!”
A “presidential selfie” featuring President Barack Obama, British Prime Minister David Cameron, and Denmark’s Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt at Nelson Mandela’s memorial service began making the rounds this morning, but it’s the person not included in the frame who caught everyone’s attention: As anyone with two eyes and a Twitter account has noticed, Michelle Obama does not appear amused. Of course, though a picture says a thousand words, not all of those words are necessarily true. FLOTUS might not have even known the photo was taking place. Or she could disapprove of funeral selfies. Either way.
President Obama’s job approval among American voters has dropped to negative territory with just 38 percent voicing their approval versus the 58 who says they disapprove, according to a national poll released Tuesday by the independent Quinnipiac University. That is one percent less than the 39% who said they approved of him in last month’s poll. The majority of the 2,692 registered voters the University in early December said that the president is not honest and trustworthy. When asked, “Do you approve or disapprove of the way Barack Obama is handling his job as President?,” respondents gave Obama lackluster ratings
Looks like this president can’t get away with flirting in front of his wife… It appears that first lady Michelle Obama was none too pleased with the way that President Barack Obama was acting toward Denmark Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt during a ceremony honoring Nelson Mandela, and before too long, they switched seats. This lmao! Michelle Obama vs Prime Minister of Denmark at Mandela´s ceremony. pic.twitter.com/Rq4uF9fTaZ — Stun (@TheBlogPirate) December 10, 2013
The sign language interpreter at Nelson Mandela´s memorial yesterday "made up his own signs," according to South Africa´s deaf federation. "He´s a complete fraud," Cara Loening, director of Sign Language Education and Development in Cape Town, said according to ITV News. "He wasn´t even doing anything, There was not one sign there. Nothing. He was literally flapping his arms around." Delphin Hlungwane, an official South African sign language interpreter at DeafSA, told Reuters:
Say goodbye to the 60-watt incandescent bulb. This year manufacturers started phasing out 100w and 75w bulbs. On January 1 it will become illegal to import or manufacture traditional 60w and 40w bulbs too. Time to stock up? Not so fast. First, check out Cree’s energy-sipping new 75-watt replacement bulb. I used to be outraged over the federal government’s draconian moves to outlaw traditional lightbulbs. For 100 years we’ve lived and thrived under the warm glow of incandescent lightbulbs. Aside from the fact that 90% of the electricity used by the bulbs is radiated in the form of heat rather than
