The U.S. Air Force said that a well-known drag queen group was invited to perform on base during a “Diversity Day” celebration because drag is a “symbol of gay pride and unity. But the performance sparked outrage among some airmen who called the drag show “totally offensive and inappropriate.” Jewels and the Brunchettes performed to a small crowd at the Los Angeles Air Force Base on Aug. 8, the military confirmed. The Air Force said in a statement to Fox News that “Diversity Day” featured eight cultural groups and was meant to “foster equality and diversity in the workplace.”
Comments: This sickens me to my core. I cannot believe our military has succumbed to the leftists´ sick, perverse ideology. This is so terribly upsetting.
This is the typical LSM "plausible deniability" headline and story that we get daily from them, from the White House. [If J. Edgar Hoover wanted to wear a red dress "off-hours," that´s his business].
My Father served honorably in the USAF and never liked homosexuals in his ranks. [They were shipped off to Greenland, so he said]. Without knowing which General(s) allowing for this military function shows that they are afraid of their future command status and retirement. One more of the homosexual jackboots on the throats of our brave warriors.
If its okay to have Drag Queens do their act on "Diversity Day", then won´t it be just fine to have a bunch of white boys put shoe polish on their faces and sing Al Jolsen´s "Mammy"?? Diversity, Right??? Anyone who gets offended is just being narrow-minded.
(And after that "De Campdown Races" and "Ol´ Black Joe.")
I object to all forms of social engineering including public ´education´ and all prison re-hab. programs which do not require a hammer or a garden hoe. The Military is designed to kill people and break things, a task which should require very few people going forward.
However....there are some flamingly gay shows which are enormously entertaining. The ´Trockaderos´ all male ballet company is a hoot.
While I object to the Military being coerced into this type of foolishness, let us not become collectors of grievances (like the Left)too quickly, over matters of this caliber when the world is truly and literally ´Flaming´ in so many other ways.
No comment is really necessary. This is what we have come to.
Drag queens at the Air Force Academy. Sex change operations, at taxpayer expense, for first degree murderers. Abortions at forty weeks. Half the nation on the dole. Truly, the ghost of Christmas future has arrived for our nation.
I am laughing and crying at the same time. When I retired from the AF I figured it had got as stupid as it possibly could. How wrong I was. Guess its time to put the flag and shadow box in the closet, along with what little pride I had left.
The activist 0bama Administration continues using the military as one of its very own social engineering pawns by using it to mock Scripture, yet runs crying to the dems´ press at the antics of a rodeo clown?!!!! ...Pathetic!
I am not a military person, meaning that no one in my family is in the military, but I do live with a Col. in the Army.
I just returned from a four-day military event in San Luis Obispo for the graduation ceremony of cadets. The graduate age range was from 18 to 70 years old. The class was beyond professional in every respect. Not only that, the areas of expertise was exceptional in engineering, mathematics, science, law and language. Several members had already served two to three tours in the ME.
And, yes, clearly there were several gay individuals among the grads but that was not addressed in any way. Service to country was addressed.
In speaking with those individuals, the very last thing that they wanted to be addressed was their orientation. They indicated to me is that their code is duty, honor and country. They do not expect special treatment nor would accept as much.
If this class is an example of the Army of the future, I am very confident.
It is only our prez and the weakend military leaders that are preventing some of the brightest, skilled and talented young leaders from shining through.
The speeches presented were about strength, valor and victory. MacArthur´s famous speech was also quoted. (I was stunned because he was so controversial.)
Absolutely nothing about "getting along", diversity or understanding.
So, L.dotters out there...there may be some hope with our new officers entering our armed forces.
This was completely predictable. It is just the beginning. Not all homosexuals are exhibitionists, but a surprising number are. It is frequently difficult to distinguish the political, civil-rights, protest elements of their behavior from the sexual exhibitionism itself. In many cases they are intermingled. This is the small group that will cause endless problems, headaches, morale difficulties, legal issues and recruiting problems for the military. It is an essential part of their condition that they flaunt, advertise, publicize and exhibit themselves and their personal sexual proclivities. They are really rather disturbed people. Normal homosexuals do not act this way and are quite content to mind their own business and be discreet about private and personal matters just as normal heterosexuals are.
There will be never-ending problems caused by the relatively small number of perverse sexual exhibitionists in the male homosexual community in the military. These people are compelled to draw attention to themselves any way they can. Well intended, naive and clueless bureaucratic attempts to accommodate and appease them completely misunderstand and only aggravate the problem. But this is something the bureaucrats and do-gooders are going to have to learn for themselves, the hard way.
In the Navy, 1960´s, I had to stand guard on a pair. Femmes. We had an officer, femme, who was being a "partner" in the enlisted ranks. Enlisted gal was discharged. Office moved to another duty station. Gals I stood guard on were discharged. Now, it makes me sick to think of patronizing of homosexuals. Sick.
Nancy D. What is the difference between men dressing up as women to entertain troops and men deressing up as women "in the name of diversity" to entertain troops. Female impersonation (drag) is not new to the military as a form of entertainment. And drag performers can be heterosexual or homosexual.
When I think of all the bomber crews and fighter pilots who took the fight to the enemy, from WWII to Afghanistan, my stomach lurches. This nonsense is disgraceful and unnecessary. It is the result of having a homosexual promoting community agitator as Commander in Chief. Somehow some way there is going to be a reckoning.
The Military will suffer more as they try to force more and more down the throats of the straights. The new generation is more tolerant than mine but still find a line to gayness they do not wish to step over or be included in.
If I am not mistaken the 0-man promised not to put gays in the military or rather to not change "don´t ask, don´t tell". When the CIC goes back on campaign promises or at each chanage of party, the military should be given early outs. Would you want to serve under this prez--whatever that would mean in these times?
Leftist "diversity" is not diversity at all but a ham-handed Procrustean effort to compel people to think and act the way Leftist fantasy ideology thinks they should. There is in fact nothing less authentically diverse than dogmatic Leftist pseudo-diversity, which is tyranny masquerading as freedom. Most normal Americans have long since learned that whenever people start prating about "diversity" something wicked this way comes. "Celebrating diversity" means affirming the way certain political ideologues think the world ought to be and the way people ought to think. It is a form of Marxist "consciousness raising" intended to inculcate the personal beliefs of the avant-garde, the Party, the bien-pensant, the Enlightened Ones, all of whom are laboring under the curious and comical notion that their unexamined personal political and moral beliefs are the self-evident and indisputable truth.
Pseudo-diversity is a degenerate stage of democracy. Forced "inclusiveness" is not inclusiveness. Intolerant and dogmatic tolerance is not tolerance. The misuse of language to obscure truth and confuse thinking is the permanent temptation of the Left because the world, i.e. human beings, do not conform to the assumptions and goals of Leftist fantasy ideology but must be compelled to do so by law and careful supervision by the authorities.
Leftism in whatever guise is tyranny, regardless of its claims of superior morality and social justice. Leftists believe they have the obligation and the right to compel others to think and behave the way they should. Nothing is less genuinely diverse than Leftist ideology.
President Obama has recalled John Podesta to work at the White House as a “counselor.” Podesta is the Clinton hand who founded the far-left Center for American Progress (home of the clownish Think Progress blog). Podesta’s appointment, which needs no congressional approval, comes at a time when Obama is already making moves to do without Congress. He has used executive actions to re-write Obamacare, and to recalibrate immigration law, both in ways that just happen to favor either himself or the Democrats. The New York Times reports that Podesta will work on executive actions when he returns to the White
On CNN’s “Reliable Sources” on Sunday, new host Brian Stelter turned to President Obama the press critic. At the end of his cakewalk “Hardball” interview last week, Obama called out the media for being divisive. “The American people are good and they are decent. And yes, we get very divided partly because our politics and our media specifically tries to divide them and splinter them.” Stelter asked a decent question about whether that was an odd statement to make on divisive MSNBC. NPR television critic Eric Deggans shot that down, insisting MSNBC was a “great place” to attack cable news
Former CIA Director Leon Panetta revealed classified information at a 2011 awards ceremony attended by Zero Dark Thirty filmmaker Mark Boal, according to documents obtained by the conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch. The CIA allowed Boal, the screenwriter of Zero Dark Thirty, to attend a June 24, 2011 award ceremony celebrating the successful raid on Osama bin Laden’s hideout in Abbottabad, Pakistan that May. A transcript of Panetta’s speech that night obtained by Judicial Watch is labeled “top secret,” and significant portions of it are redacted. At the conclusion his speech, Panetta told the audience, “You have made me proud
UPDATE: Rep. Paul Ryan and Sen. Patty Murray unveiled a budget proposal Tuesday night. The proposal, which has yet to be voted on, busts through sequester caps, setting FY 2014 spending at $1.014 trillion — billions beyond the levels mandated by sequester. The proposal contains no mention of pension reform. Conservatives had better start paying attention to the budget battle raging in Washington: If things go south — and they are poised to do just that — the tea party’s single greatest policy victory, the sequester, could be destroyed. And worse yet, it could be destroyed in exchange for nothing. The sequester
Approval of ObamaCare in the United States has risen eight percentage points in the last month, according to a new poll. Thirty-nine percent of people now approve of the law, according to a CBS News/New York Times poll released Tuesday evening. Half of the public, by contrast, disapproves of ObamaCare, the poll found. Nearly 60 percent say they don’t think the sign-up process for ObamaCare is going well, but more than one-third say it’s improving. These figures come in just ten days after the administration touted the repaired federal portal for the insurance, HealthCare.gov. Obama’s general job approval rating has increased to 42 percent,
Rep. Karen Bass (D-Calif.), in an appearance on MSNBC´s "PoliticsNation" on Friday, condemned former Sen. Rick Santorum´s comments comparing Nelson Mandela´s fight against apartheid to the fight against Obamacare as "shameful." "And actually if I was going to make a comparison, I would make the opposite comparison, because I think the struggle for justice, which Nelson Mandela led for so many years is similar as the struggle for the health care as a right for people in the richest country in the world, and so the idea that they would make that comparison in the opposite way is just tragic,"
According to a new Rasmussen Report, the majority of Americans do not believe the deportation of illegal immigrants living in the United States is aggressive enough. More than 20 House Democrats last week urged President Obama to halt the deportation of illegal immigrants until Congress passes a comprehensive immigration reform plan, but voters by a two-to-one margin oppose that idea. Most already think the federal government is not vigilant enough in deporting those who are in this country illegally. Only 29% of Likely U.S. Voters think the government should stop deporting illegal immigrants until Congress passes an immigration reform plan.
Twitchy, the conservative Twitter aggregation site, has been sold for an undisclosed amount to Salem Communications, the Christian radio conglomerate and owners of Hotair.com and Townhall.com. Jonathan Garthwaite, general manager and editor-in-chief of Townhall.com, confirmed the news to BuzzFeed Tuesday, saying he was “excited” to be folding Twitchy into existing Salem news properties. “Media Matters types would like to paint conservatives as boring, old white guys,” Garthwaite said. “Twitchy adds more fun and humor to our platform, which will appeal to totally different generation and break that stereotype.” Launched in March 2012, Twitchy was the brainchild of conservative author and
In a visit to NR’s New York office, Senator Ron Johnson said the fight against Obamacare is entering a new phase: “We’ve got to start talking about transitioning.” Johnson won his Senate seat in 2010 based in large part on his fierce opposition to Obamacare, which he still adamantly opposes as an assault on Americans’ liberty and criticizes in the harshest terms (look no further than his recent weekly radio address). But simple repeal is no longer enough, he believes. He says that Republicans have to acknowledge that the law now exists. “How do you repeal?” he asks. “Yeah, you
President Obama´s appointment of Democratic adviser John Podesta, an opponent of the Keystone XL oil sands pipeline, to the White House could foretell a rejection of the controversial Canada-to-Texas pipeline, environmental groups said Tuesday. Podesta, former President Bill Clinton´s chief of staff and the man who headed Obama´s transition team, is leaving the top post of the Center for American Progress, a left-leaning think tank, for a new White House role focusing on climate change. Obama has vowed to lead an active White House on the issue — the president said in June he would rely on his executive authority to
President Obama is still holding back on firing anyone for the disastrous first two months of the Obamacare roll-out and instead is adding key staff to help steer a smoother course next year. While critics are still calling for heads to roll, some Republicans say Obama´s decision to bring in two well-known Washington players to help right the ship shows he´s serious about shaking up his second-term strategy and execution. Senators on both sides of the aisle are praising the prospect of Obama tapping veteran Democratic strategist John Podesta, a former chief of staff for President Bill Clinton. This week,
MSNBC anchor and NBC News political director and chief White House correspondent Chuck Todd lashed out at Fox News for what he described as "pandering to an audience" over their coverage of President Obama´s enthusiastic handshake with Cuban dictator Raul Castro at Tuesday´s memorial service for Nelson Mandela. Chuck Todd ? @chucktodd Follow Really? An entire segment on a handshake? Good grief; pandering to an audience 10:37 AM - 10 Dec 2013 The irony of an MSNBC anchor accusing another network of pandering to their audience requires no explanation. Todd joins CNN, Politico´s Dylan Byers, and a number of other
When I was a kid, I knew two different Santa Clauses. The first had a fat belly, rosy cheeks, a long white beard, and skin as pink as bubble gum. He was omnipresent, visiting my pre-school and the local mall, visible in all of my favorite Christmas specials. Then there was the Santa in my family’s household, in the form of ornaments, cards, and holiday figurines. A near-carbon copy of the first one—big belly, rosy cheeks, long white beard: check, check, check. But his skin was as dark as mine. Seeing two different Santas was bewildering. Eventually I asked my father what
US President Barack Obama may have moved the masses attending Nelson Mandela’s memorial service with his stirring eulogy, but it was his grinning "selfie" with the Danish and British premiers that set social networks abuzz. In a candid moment captured by a photographer, Denmark’s Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt can be seen holding up her smartphone, with Obama lending a helping hand, as they pose for a picture with David Cameron, all three of them smiling broadly in their seats at Soweto’s World Cup stadium.(Snip)Mashable, the news and technology website, ran the photograph under the headline: ‘‘Dear Obama: Funerals are no place
New York — The anchor who might beat Bill O’Reilly gets her eyelash extensions applied one at a time, with tweezers and dabs of glue, about 90 minutes before showtime, right after a motorized gun sprays foundation over her face, neck, shoulders, collarbone and sternum, wiping out a galaxy of light freckles that spreads across her — Let me stop you right there. Photos of the day Uruguay legalizes marijuana, Kiev police pull back from protesters, aging U.S. prison population and more. Tuesday´s Photos of the day Would you write this way about a man? About O’Reilly himself? At least that’s what Megyn Kelly might ask at
Johannesburg - A man who provided sign language interpretation on stage for Nelson Mandela´s memorial service, attended by scores of heads of state, was a "fake," the national director of the Deaf Federation of South Africa said on Tuesday. Asked about the claim by The Associated Press, South Africa´s government said it was preparing a statement. Three sign language experts said the man was not signing in South African or American sign languages. South African sign language covers all of the country´s 11 official languages, according to the federation. It wasn´t immediately clear if the unidentified man was using a
House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) snapped at conservative groups that have come out in opposition to the budget deal reached Wednesday between Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) and Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.). "They´re using the American people for their own purposes. This is ridiculous," Boehner said at a press conference with other members of House Republican leadership on Wednesday. Over the past few days, a number of conservative groups have blasted the deal because it sets discretionary spending levels in the budget higher than previous levels under sequestration. In the past three days, the influential Heritage Action, Club for Growth, Americans
A black fashion student says he was brutally attacked by a gang of Hasidic men who shouted anti-gay slurs at him while he was walking through Williamsburg after a night of partying, the Daily News has learned. Taj Patterson, 22, was headed home to Fort Greene around 4:30 a.m. on Dec. 1 when he says more than a dozen ultra-Orthodox Jewish men began assaulting him on Flushing Ave. and yelling, “Stay down, f----t!”
A “presidential selfie” featuring President Barack Obama, British Prime Minister David Cameron, and Denmark’s Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt at Nelson Mandela’s memorial service began making the rounds this morning, but it’s the person not included in the frame who caught everyone’s attention: As anyone with two eyes and a Twitter account has noticed, Michelle Obama does not appear amused. Of course, though a picture says a thousand words, not all of those words are necessarily true. FLOTUS might not have even known the photo was taking place. Or she could disapprove of funeral selfies. Either way.
In August 2013 I became very sick with what I thought was a cold. After a few days I lost vision in my left eye and I checked into the hospital. I soon found out that what I thought was a summer cold was actually Strep bacteria poisoning my blood stream. The bacteria blinded my left eye, ate a hole through my heart, caused five strokes on both sides of my brain and forced the removal of my prosthetic left knee. Dr. Lee was the surgeon assigned to perform open heart surgery. What was originally scheduled to last four hours ended
President Obama’s job approval among American voters has dropped to negative territory with just 38 percent voicing their approval versus the 58 who says they disapprove, according to a national poll released Tuesday by the independent Quinnipiac University. That is one percent less than the 39% who said they approved of him in last month’s poll. The majority of the 2,692 registered voters the University in early December said that the president is not honest and trustworthy. When asked, “Do you approve or disapprove of the way Barack Obama is handling his job as President?,” respondents gave Obama lackluster ratings
Looks like this president can’t get away with flirting in front of his wife… It appears that first lady Michelle Obama was none too pleased with the way that President Barack Obama was acting toward Denmark Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt during a ceremony honoring Nelson Mandela, and before too long, they switched seats. This lmao! Michelle Obama vs Prime Minister of Denmark at Mandela´s ceremony. pic.twitter.com/Rq4uF9fTaZ — Stun (@TheBlogPirate) December 10, 2013
The sign language interpreter at Nelson Mandela´s memorial yesterday "made up his own signs," according to South Africa´s deaf federation. "He´s a complete fraud," Cara Loening, director of Sign Language Education and Development in Cape Town, said according to ITV News. "He wasn´t even doing anything, There was not one sign there. Nothing. He was literally flapping his arms around." Delphin Hlungwane, an official South African sign language interpreter at DeafSA, told Reuters:
