McCain: Young Americans admire
Snowden, see him as ‘some
kind of Jason Bourne’

Washington Times, by Ben Wolfgang

Original Article

Posted By:Dreadnought, 8/11/2013 10:04:53 PM

A deep distrust of government has led young Americans to hold up NSA leaker Edward Snowden as a hero, Sen. John McCain said Sunday. “There’s a young generation who believes he’s some kind of Jason Bourne,” the Arizona Republican said during on “Fox News Sunday,” referring to the lead character in the Bourne movie trilogy who battled his own government, particularly the CIA. Mr. Snowden’s revelations — including details of the National Security Agency’s data-collection efforts — have led to a debate on the national security vs. privacy question, and how to balance the two.

"Widely respected figure indeed" - all the way from ABC to NBC. But even the one good thing he said - "Young Americans do not trust this government" - is not as true as I wish it were.

He did reveal that the democrats are spying on all of us, except muslims and I suspect they will use the information to kill millions of Americans thru denial of healthcare. To intimidate the rest by you unable to work full time or live in a neighborhood of your choice.

They have to be able to see who is conservative and who are the sheep.

I´m an older American and a vet. I admire snowden and who ever set this all up.

The NSA is breaking the law, they have no right to spy on citizens. Period. Just like the IRS has no right to attack conservative groups and Eric Holder has no right to do pretty much any of what he does.

Of course I don´t expect to see any of this changed, because the majority of people in office these days think they´re nobility and we´re just peasants.

One of the last hopes for this country is that young people have a growing distrust towards government. The founders understood that government is not a benevolent, kindly parent. Government is force, power, and oppression.

Young people! Pay attention! If you desire a future, you must see the evil in Washington, DC for what it is.

I pray daily that John McCain will retire before he does even more severe damage to the country. Obama and Dem leadership are in a life and death tug of war. Obama is trying to throw out the Constitution and create a socialist democracy. When McCain isn´t pulling with the Democrats he´s spraying WD40 on the GOP side.

There were millions of foolish people who wanted to believe that Alger Hiss was a good man who only did good things and that Whitaker Chambers was an evil man.

The Hiss followers found out, in the end, that they´d been tagging along with a Commie who wanted to steal their stuff and put them in a gulag.

Ever since then the smart set has kept their eye on which of the new public heroes has Commie inclinations or affiliations.

Snowden fled to the Chicoms ..... end of that story.

There is a nice silk purse in the Smithsonian made out of a sow´s ear. There´s only one. It was very expensive to make. It´s still not popular.

BTW, the smart set ALSO knew about everything Snowden supposedly revealed ~ and if you read carefully he speaks of capabilities in the sense of ´could, would, should´, not in terms of ´I did this and here it is´ ~

My charitable view is that he was just another commercial spy but he soon discovered the guys he thought would buy his stuff already had it all.

McPain is a royal arse. If mosques are prohibited from being spied on, what´s the purpose of the NSA program. The only purpose I can see is to spy on everyone else. Ergo, the ´parallel´ investigations for convictions. This spying is nothing more than a trashing of the constitution and McPain is assisting the evil one in the WH.

When Chief Justice John Roberts rewrote ObamaCare from the bench in order to save it, most of the ramifications were immediately apparent. But there was one aspect of the stunt that as a member of the Supreme Court Roberts should have been sensitive to: precedent. Having caved to a public intimidation campaign from the president and his congressional allies (as well as the media) Roberts signaled that the way to get a conservative justice to discard his better judgment and rule against constitutional law was to impugn the court’s reputation in the public square. Sen. Mark Begich has said repeatedly that he thinks President Obama is wrong about a host of policies, whether on oil drilling, the military or the environment. Begich also has made it perfectly clear that he has no interest in having his fellow Democrat out to his home state of Alaska, saying earlier this year that he doesn’t “care to have him campaign for me.” But that doesn’t mean he’s not looking for the president’s help. Begich has in fact submitted a long wish list to the Obama administration for agency decisions that he thinks would boost his reelection chances.

First, House Majority Leader Tom DeLay resigned in disgrace after he was charged with violating campaign finance laws and money laundering. Then, Rep. The resignation of a Silicon Valley executive who opposed gay marriage and refused to recant has sparked an online fight among gays about whether proponents of same-sex marriage are now going too far in trying to marginalize their opponents socially and economically. The announcement by popular Web browser Mozilla Firefox that co-founder and CEO Brendan Eich was stepping down after two weeks on the job for a 2008 contribution has sparked furious debate over civil rights, privacy and corporate responsibility. A leading gay blogger has accused the movement of displaying the same intolerance activists accuse their opponents of practicing, while

On its present course, the Supreme Court will ultimately overrule its 1976 decision in Buckley v. Valeo, the landmark case upholding campaign finance “reform” legislation. It can’t come too soon, because Buckley expressly ignored the First Amendment’s injunction that “Congress shall make no law .?.?. abridging the freedom of speech.” Instead of free speech, we now have regulated speech that has ensnarled elections in a web of bizarre and opaque rules. Last week, in McCutcheon et al. v. Federal Election Commission, the court began edging away from Buckley by striking down one of its limits on free speech. The details

Senator Obama averred his support for the one-man/one-woman view of marriage, while Mr. Eich, a cofounder of the Mozilla web-browser company, donated $1,000 to support Proposition 8 — a California ballot initiative that had the effect of making Senator Obama’s avowed marriage policy the law in California, at least until a federal court overturned it on the theory that California’s constitution is unconstitutional. First, John Kerry convenes — against all advice and holding no cards — Geneva negotiations to resolve the Syria conflict and supposedly remove Bashar al-Assad from power. The talks collapse in acrimony and confusion. Kerry’s response? A second Geneva conference that — surprise! — breaks up in acrimony and confusion. Then, even as Russian special forces are taking over Crimea, Kerry goes chasing after Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov — first to Paris, then Rome, then London — offering a diplomatic “offramp.” Lavrov shrugs him off.
