The new face of SNAP?
Food stamps buy lobster
for surfer and his buddies

Daily Caller, by Caroline May

Original Article

During an hour-long deep dive into the growing use of food stamps in America, Fox News highlighted “the new face of food stamps.” That new face is a pina colada-sipping, lobster-loving lothario named Jason Greenslate. Greenslate, a 29-year-old La Jolla California surfer and musician who sings that he does not want a “motherfucking job” and has “fuck no” guilt about living on $200 of what he calls “free money ” — or what the government called Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Benefits — while he avoids a job to hang out on the beach, sing and chase women.

That "new face" has been around a long time. This sort of person used to be a little more discrete about cheating the American taxpayer but President Fair Share has made it acceptable.

Defiant Lobster company has culls at $3.99 per pound ~ again!

The price has been low due to abundance of lobster.

Now hamburger, that´s different. We have obtained some recently for under $3.00 a pound ~ haven´t seen that since "W" BTW

A surfer tells you anything that´s something you might not want to believe. The dude sounds like he´s suffering from one degree or the other of SCHIZOPHRENIA, and he´s buying cheap meat ~ high energy cheap meat, but currently it´s far from being a gourmet only specialty.

We are going to an all you can eat crawdad festival this coming Friday. $10 a head ~ we are all able to eat $50 worth of these critters, so hope they got enough of them.

I´ve been behind people using EBT cards in supermarket and can never understand (I´m going to ask some day) why the store clerk asks the Electronic Bank Transfer customer, "Cash Back?"

I don´t know anyone who ever gets asked if they want cash back when they use they credit card to pay for their food. I don´t understand it. I thought you just use those EBT cards to get food. What bank do these EBTers use that they can get cash back when they never deposit any money into the EBT bank!!! I wonder when that policy started.

I was in line at a grocery store that is next to a Home Depot where all the "day workers" hang out. The man in front of me had a container of hot ribs in his hand; he was eating them as he stood in line. When he swiped his card, it did not read, and he continued to eat one rib after the other. Finally, the clerk asked to see his card, and since it had B-B-Que sauce on it, he actually licked the card and tried to hand it to the clerk. The clerk then announced that it was an EBT card, and he could not buy hot food with this card. After a lot of fuss, he just left the mostly eaten ribs container on the counter, as it appeared he could not speak English, and he had no money. When I went out to load my groceries into my trunk, he was sitting on the curb behind my car talking on his phone (0bama phone), and he was speaking in English.

#22, I get asked all the time when I use my debit card if I want cash back. Helpful hint: Cash back at the grocery store saves you the fee charged at the bank when using your ATM to withdraw money. Most banks charge you after if you use the ATM more than 5-6 times a month.

In my state you can not use an EBT card for hot food so I hope he is eating lobster salad or just plain cold lobster s he can use the card. I have worked for years for a very large grocery chain and when a cashier rang up any item that been heated the register would require that item must be paid for at the time of totaling the order. I would assume this is the same every where.

He has to live somewhere, does he own his home, does he rent it? Where is the money coming from to pay the

To be "fair and balanced" will there also be a special on a 3rd generation welfare mother of the black race? Yes, there are more whites on SNAP, but then the % of whites is far greater than the 12% that make up the black community.
Some sell their cards for pennies on the dollar to get their next high..kids can go hungry, all that matters is that next fix.
Unless they are disabled, SNAP should be for those 65 and over.

#25 - I do understand that you can get cash back on your debit card because it´s your own money, but I heard on the radio (and they never lie) that people get cash back on their EBT cards (maybe only in compassionate blue states). It wouldn´t surprise me, though, because I believe U.S. food stamps are advertised in Mexico. The next time I see it happening, I am going to ask the clerk why that should be happening.

President Obama asserts that 8 million people have signed up for Obamacare, as though that were something to be proud of. In fact, Obamacare has always been a fiasco from a fiscal perspective–a black hole of subsidies and expanded Medicaid, with largely fictitious mechanisms in place to pay for it. As the number of subsidized participants grows, the disaster gets worse. Charles Blahous explains: Our national discussion…is missing the truly significant story here; what is unfolding before our eyes is a colossal fiscal disaster, poised to haunt legislators and taxpayers for decades to come. It is quite possible that the ACA is

It’s been nine years since the Supreme Court, expressing their decision in the writings of John Paul Stevens, decided to fundamentally change the Takings Clause of the constitution in the case of Kelo v. On this auspicious anniversary, a diarist at Redstate decides to take a fresh look at how wonderfully that exercise in freedom worked out for the citizens, and what they received in exchange for their liberties. WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama will leave Tuesday for a four-nation trip to Asia, looking to recharge a focus on the region, an ambitious initiative that’s been sidetracked by domestic politics and international conflicts elsewhere. Yet even as Obama attempts to boost his effort to emphasize U.S. interest in Asia, Russian President Vladimir Putin’s intervention in Ukraine is complicating efforts to reassure Asian nations _ which share the region with an increasingly assertive China - that the U.S. is committed to their security. The administration’s efforts to refocus U.S. policy toward Asia were already being questioned in the region with the

One of the Obama administration’s favorite themes is the idea that Republicans have been waging a “war on women.” Though Democrats may overestimate the appeal of this canard, the notion that troglodyte conservatives seek to send American women back to the 19th century has become a form of conventional wisdom, especially in the liberal mainstream media. But though that war is a piece of fakery rooted in the confusion between political liberalism and gender equality, there is little doubt about the reality of another war on women: the one that is being waged by left-wing ideologues against any female Republican

I began reading the entirety of the first section of the New York Times at nine years old, and continued that practice, more or less, for decades.(snip) ...the power of reverence, intrinsic to what I call the “cascade” of The Times: the near avalanche-like flow and distribution of information through electronic and print networks: through like-minded network newscasts, magazines, local newspaper s, blogs, daytime talk TV, late-night entertainment, statements at media award ceremonies, the celebrity Twitterverse, etc. The cascade rolls through Saturday Night Live, Jon Stewart, The New Yorker, the mouths of third-grade teachers, Elmo, Madonna and Susan Sarandon …through

GREENSBORO, Ga. — Golf holes the size of pizzas. Soccer balls on the back nine. A mulligan on every hole. These are some of the measures — some would say gimmicks — that golf courses across the country have experimented with to stop people from quitting the game. Golf has always reveled in its standards and rich tradition. But increasingly a victim of its own image and hidebound ways, golf has lost five million players in the last decade, according to the National Golf Foundation, with 20 percent of the existing 25 million golfers apt to quit in the next few years. People under 35 have especially spurned the game, saying it takes too

Hi, everybody. For millions of Americans, this time of year holds great meaning. Earlier this week, we hosted a Passover Seder at the White House, and joined Jewish families around the world in their re-tellings of the story of the Exodus and the victory of faith over oppression. And this Sunday, Michelle, Malia, Sasha, and I will join our fellow Christians around the world in celebrating the Resurrection of Christ, the salvation he offered the world, and the hope that comes with the Easter season. These holy days have their roots in miracles that took place long ago. And yet, they still inspire us, guide us, and strengthen us today. They remind us of our

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Thursday that a family of dissident ranchers and their supporters in his home state of Nevada are ´domestic terrorists,´ citing this week´s standoff with the federal government´s Bureau of Land Management. Cliven Bundy has refused to pay grazing fees for land where his hundreds of cattle roam every day. The land is owned by the federal government, which says he owes more than $1 million. Bundy, however, insists that since his family has been using the land since the 1870s, Uncle Sam can´t collect the grazing fees. A tense standoff developed this week after

To "honor the dignity and work of immigrants," Democratic House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi helps Bishop Marc Andrus wash the feet of two children Thursday at Saint John the Evangelist Episcopal Church in San Francisco. Pelosi also used the occasion to talk about passing HR15 - bipartisan immigration legislation that her office says would "reduce the deficit by nearly $1 trillion, secure our borders, unite our families, protect our workers and provide an earned pathway to citizenship." The Democratic leader´s ceremony coincides with Pope Francis´ similar ceremony in Rome to mark Holy Week.

WASHINGTON--Rushing to an afternoon vote last month, Sen. Ted Cruz hopped the underground tram to the U.S. Capitol from his office across the street. The Texan planted his black ostrich cowboy boots in the middle of the small subway car without getting so much as a nod from the other senators--Republican or Democrat--amiably chatting or huddled in their seats. Mr. Cruz finds himself standing alone a lot these days. His response to the cold shoulders: "The establishment despised Ronald Reagan" before he became president, "but the people loved him." For the 43-year-old Republican, the Reagan name illuminates his political life´s

Imagine a vendor on the National Mall, selling burgers and dogs, who hasn’t paid his rent in 20 years. He refuses to recognize his landlord, the National Park Service, as a legitimate authority. Every court has ruled against him, and fines have piled up. What’s more, the effluents from his food cart are having a detrimental effect on the spring grass in the capital. Would an armed posse come to his defense, aiming their guns at the park police? Would the lawbreaker get prime airtime on Fox News, breathless updates in the Drudge Report, a sympathetic ear from Tea Party Republicans?

Conservative columnist Ann Coulter — who used her talk show platform in the last presidential election cycle to campaign hard for former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney — has taken up the mantra once again, calling on Republicans to give the failed White House bidder another shot in 2016. She made the suggestion during a discussion on Sean Hannity’s radio show while speaking of her new book, “Never Trust a Liberal Over 3-Especially a Republican.” Ms. Coulter also addressed the question of Mr. Romney’s shortcomings by saying that his 2012 loss wasn’t entirely his fault. “I think too much blame, not only in this
