During his Wednesday appearance on Jay Leno´s "Tonight Show,´ President Obama made three factual gaffes; one of them involved the claim that cities not found along the Gulf of Mexico are. Were Obama a Republican, these gaffes would have led news coverage for the next forty-eight hours. Not only did most of the media ignore or downplay these gaffes; the Associated Press went so far as to cover one of them up. In its coverage Thursday, rather than point out the president´s geographical error, the wire service made it look as though no error was made.
Along with so many other American institutions the Left has corrupted the news media. Like their Obama the news media is not to be trusted. Newsmedia that can´t be trusted goes out of business.
And they´re hellbent... You´d think they´d take a look at evidence like the fate of Newsweek, the fire sale at WaPo and the pitiful ratings at MSNBC and buy a clue... Not when you´re hellbent, evidently.
They had to have given Obama the questions before he went on the show and rehearsed and the answers to them. He´s not interested in helping the economies of red states like SC anyway. But aside from that, either an advisor gave him the wrong area of the map or he´s totally ignorant of the geography of this country.I wonder if they even teach state capitals anymore.
To say there´s swimming pools in the winter Olympics is equally as ignorant.
While we appreciate their sympathy in not wanting to make him look stupid, this man is supposed to be the leader of the free world. He doesn´t know how many states are in the country that he leads and he doesn´t know what cities are in those states. He doesn´t know what it means to be an American. What else doesn´t he know? (Rhetorical question of course)
But let a Republican misspell "potato" and watch how they pounce on it like a pack of dogs.
These are the same "people" who accused Sarah Palin for being dumb for saying that she could see Russia from her house. She never said it; Tina Fey said it while making fun of Sarah on SNL. So many people actually believed it that it became a "fact" among voters. They ought to at least make Obama own his gaffes.
So, this is what one calls " worldly experience having lived for years outside of the US"? Experience in attending Madrasas , using words such as "gonna, wanna etc " and " not being smarter than a fifth grader"!
What is asinine is the Republicans have respect for this AP and other MSM. They still try to appease this group of liars as if they are the real honest media. They ignore the new media on the internet and give credence to the MSM. These news organizations are not legit. Real journalism is no longer done by the Post, the Times, CBS, NBC, ABC or CNN. The WH press corps is no longer legit. You Republicans in Congress, stop being intimidated by them.
The ap inserted an "interpretive phrase." As opposed to their coverage of conservatives where remarks are deliberately misquoted, selectively edited, taken out of context, and strung together out of sequence all in an effort to smear. The ap is a shameless propaganda arm of the left. Although I try to avoid c
What is even more amazing is too many Americans and illegals think these media coverups are just so funny and relish how the msm routinely likes to rub Obie´s political opposition´s nose in it. Don´t think for a minute that this kind of behavior is new or unusual. Been around for a long time. For those of us old enough to know, remember the msm´s biases of the 1960s, and as an example, the evening network news programs such as Walter Cronkite´s chronic apologizing for the USA´s role in Vietnam? And his glorification of Jane Fonda´s coddling and collaborating with the North Vietnamese?
How we got hoodwinked is the fact that "potatoe" is spelled two ways. As proof I have a carton here at home that at one time was used to ship Idaho Potatoes to market and is printed on the side clearly for any dimwitted to see as containing potatoes. This is the Republican problem, not fighting for their positions. Sure Quail corrected the little girl and I suppose some thought that was crue but we shouldnt let ourselves be headslapped without fighting back. I hold out little hope for the future of our country.
This is the best example of how the MSM use their biases to slant the coverage. They take a negative on the conservative side and make it a three day story while either failing to report or covering for a negative on the liberal side.
Over time it is very effective in coloring the minds of low information voters and inflaming the liberal base. Republicans seem oblivious to this tactic and fail to counter it. They just shrug their shoulders and walk away.
This president is a fraud from top to bottom. He is not educated, despite his Ivy credentials. He doesn´t know how to speak; he has not even a modicum of a good education; and he is a total moron and despot. This is the Matarese Circle sure and simple and if we don´t get to the bottom of who put this interloper in office we will never have another day of liberty in this country. He must go and the people that put him in office must be exposed and jailed. I hope the Koch brothers with their money and connection can get to the bottom of this infestation.
This is how the affirmative action Frankenstein was crafted over the years. They are all enablers for poor performance. This is how he got through college, early politics, etc. It seems to be a kind of pitty/sympathy and there is apparently nothing the MSM won´t do for him:
"Candy?", (lifeline please, since I used up phone a friend).
The loser does not deserve it-there´s no return on investment of lying, covering up just how ignorant he really is. This is why the countries problems have been compounded under him-he is a nothing. Not only does he score zero on performance, he´s deep into the red, - territory.
Got one to add to the Chicago-English: "You know" is pronounced "Yea-know".
Of course Obama is basically an ignorant man and "becuz" he uses very poor and incorrect English (just like the ignorant masses), the functionally illiterate voters think that they are just as smart as he.
I would love to see him on the ´Are you smarter than a 5th grader´ answering questions about American history or geography. But then we all know that the answer is an ´affirmative´ no if it were a ´fair´ contest .
It´s really quite amazing to watch the obsequious fawning, groveling, and outright cover-ups that the press, entertainment stars, politicians on both sides, and others shower on this pretender. Initially, they could have claimed ignorance or simply an overabundance of good will for a historic elected figure. But 5 years into his disastrous and truth-revealing presidency, what´s their excuse?
Have they no realization of how foolish they themselves appear for continuing to fall for his pretensions? Every single speech and mannerism of his is cringe-worthy. How can they not be embarrassed to continue the charade?
Liberals practice the most insidious form of racism. They believe blacks are inferior and must be given every latitude. Blacks are expected to make childlike errors for which the good liberal will coverup the deed.
Conservatives wish to treat blacks as equals. If they make a mistake they should pay a price just like everyone else. Only then will their total emancipation be possible.
Unfortunately, total emancipation is not high on many blacks´ list. Therefore they are willing to play the liberal game.
Asphyxiated Press - “Suffocating Truth Since the 1840s” - does it again! For example, the AP can always be counted on to bend over backwards in attempting to make BHO appear presidential. Time after time they attempt and time after time they fail. Think silk purse, sow’s ear.
The first step in a student´s education used to be to learn that you can´t believe something, simply because it´s in print. That was then; this is now: you can´t believe anything in print if it appears to be positive with regard to the political left.
Even in admitting the propaganda, AP refuses to simply point out the error. Just say those cities are not near the Gulf, and leave at that. They still have to opine that his intended meaning wasn´t clear.
If AP gave all gaffes an equal benefit of the doubt, George Allen may well have become a U.S. Senator.
Unless and until the RNC and ALL elected Republicans mount an intensive IO campaign - info ops - on TV every day on every network against these anti-American, socialist, lying pretenders, we are just whizzing in the wind on sites like these. I am about to the point of not posting anything any more. God help us!
I agree with the still, small voice of #16. What they did here was more or less standard procedure, and probably correct, because I am quite sure he is aware that these cities are not on the Gulf. Do I think they would have granted the benefit of the doubt and applied this standard procedure to a Republican? Maybe not, depending on the editors involved. *That* is the problem.
#33 - I second that! Additionally Liberals assume that Blacks need to be fed because they can´t make a decent living on their own. It is expected that Blacks need help getting into college (even if they don´t qualify) because of skin color. Think about that one for a moment. When you consider the fact that probably 95% of all colleges are Liberal in nature, it is a completely absurd assumption that the color of anyone´s skin should play any part in the acceptance process in such an environment, but White guilt and Liberal arrogance will do that.? Therefore it becomes natural for Blacks to take the path of least resistance by accepting all that free stuff that Liberals give them and Conservatives pay for. Yeah, we pay for it and are then called the bad guys! These Blacks are confined to the Liberal plantation and play the Leftist game. The democrat´s Ku Klux Klan could never hope to accomplish what today´s Liberals have managed to do!
Knowing your bodies of water that surround America is important, but personally I found his "57 states" gaffe far more chilling. Both are evidence of his mediocre education, that by some miracle got him into a top notch university like Harvard for free. I would love to hear a tape of that entrance committee conversation.
The first Affirmative Action president as well as the first totally socialist one requires propping up and extra tender care and handling?
This in itself implies inequality.
Hitliary as next prez due to inner city Chicago voter fraud which guarantees it may or may not turn into same all feminism, gays, or just the same healthcare, liberal courts legislating from the bench, samae old special iterest groups; corruption overlooked by the itself partisan and corrupt media, sexual harassment laws winked at, etc.
Make it easy on yourself, go to Wikipedia, look at Cleon Skousen´s 50 communist points list, contained in his 1950´s classic book, THE NAKED COMMUNIST. See Obama, his comrades Congress the protecting Diane Sawyer TV news actors, all of them as communists, and it becomes easy to understand. Just pretend they are all commies and it´s all clear. More oppressive government force and less individual freedom.....and endless debt
O-Bomber was born in a city on the Gulf of Oman or on the African Horn or maybe on the Cape of Good Hope and Change...
You know, the place we call "Honolulu"...
And when he traveled to Pockie-stan on some passport other than from the U.S., it´s because Pockie-stan is located in western Montana and anyone could make this mistake. The Montanans were very nice to the young man with the Indonesian passport... He had some money to launder, after all...
See? A Wannabe Kommie Dicktater can say anything he wants... the Ministry of Propaganda will clean up the quotes for the Emperor...
And... KommieKare will lower costs and save you money... You can keep your Witch Doctor... Oops! Little Afro-Lingo slip-up there... And, uh, Detroit has a Gummint Budget Surplus this year... Again! That´s fifty straight years of Budget Surpluses in Detroit!
The Liberal Left Media sees an opportunity to create a democrat dynasty by undeservedly elevating the Marxist socialist while essentially ignoring his ignorance and malfeasance. For such an "in the tank" media, "The Emperor´s New Clothes" are perpetually magnificent.
The House on Thursday approved a two-year budget deal that turns off $63 billion in sequester spending cuts, handing a major victory to Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio.). Large majorities in both parties backed the bill in a 332-94 vote. Only 62 Republicans defected despite harsh criticism of the deal by conservative groups that said it did too little to cut spending. Heritage Action, the Club for Growth and other groups said they would negatively score votes in favor of the legislation, but those threats failed to create a stampede against the bill. Instead, members rallied around Boehner, who had strongly pushed
TYLER, TX (KLTV) - Country Music Hall of Fame member and country music legend Ray Price, 87, plans to leave East Texas Medical Center in Tyler on Thursday to go to his home in Mount Pleasant where he will be provided with hospice care. Price, who is best known for his country classics, including Release Me, Crazy Arms and For the Good Times, has been battling pancreatic cancer since 2011. Since then, the disease has spread to his liver, intestines and lungs, even with aggressive treatment. Price and his wife, Janie, who have been married for 45 years, made the
HOUSTON - "Affluenza," the term used by a psychologist to argue that a North Texas teenager from a wealthy family should not be sent to prison for killing four pedestrians while driving drunk, is not a recognized diagnosis and should not be used to justify bad behavior, psychologists said Thursday. The term was popularized in the late 1990s by Jessie O´Neill, the granddaughter of a past president of General Motors, when she wrote the book "The Golden Ghetto: The Psychology of Affluence." It has since been used to describe a condition in which children — generally from richer families —
WASHINGTON — The House moved toward passage of a bipartisan budget accord on Thursday evening that is intended as a truce in the spending battles that have paralyzed Congress for nearly three years, as leaders in both parties sought to marginalize hard-line conservatives opposed to any compromise. With bipartisan support in hand, Speaker John A. Boehner of Ohio declared open warfare on the outside conservative groups that have tried to scuttle the budget deal. For the second day in a row, he accused groups like Club for Growth, Heritage Action and Americans for Prosperity of reflexively opposing a reasonable plan
WASHINGTON – The Obama administration moved Thursday to help tens of thousands of sick Americans who have struggled to enroll in health coverage for next year because of problems with the rollout of new insurance marketplaces created by the president’s health law. The Department of Health and Human Services announced that patients who have been enrolled in special insurance plans for consumers denied coverage elsewhere would be able to stay on those plans until the end of January. Nearly 86,000 people are currently in such plans. These state-based plans – known as Pre-existing Condition Insurance Plans – were created by
Wall Street´s third down day in a row pushed stocks to their lowest levels in a month as investors worried that the end may be nearing for the Federal Reserve´s support for the economy. The Fed´s stimulus efforts have been a key factor in the bull market that has pushed the Standard & Poor´s 500 index 25 higher percent this year. Investors know it will end sooner or later. But the timing, and the fallout, are uncertain. Until this month, stocks had risen for eight weeks straight. But stocks posted their biggest declines in five weeks on Wednesday, and dropped
Approximately 800 school children waving American flags greeted the Wreaths Across America convoy at their school on Wednesday in Middletown, N.J., for a wreath laying ceremony and tribute honoring World War II veterans who fought in the Battle of the Bulge. The WAA caravan included over 10 trailer trucks filled with wreaths. The group is laying wreaths to honor and remember the country’s veterans during its weeklong journey, which began in Maine on Dec. 7. Its final stop will be at Arlington National Cemetery on Dec. 14, where at least 100,000 wreaths will be laid on the graves of veterans.
(Video) Speaker John Boehner´s (R-Ohio) outburst Thursday at outside conservative groups is going viral on the Internet. Boehner voiced incredulity Thursday that the same groups that pushed Republicans to shut down the government later said they knew the strategy wouldn´t succeed in defunding ObamaCare. “Are you kidding me?!” Boehner exclaimed at the GOP´s press conference at the Capitol. It’s the second day in a row Boehner has criticized the groups. People began tweeting that Boehner’s outburst would make a good Gif.
"The Price Is Right" host Bob Barker is endorsing lobbyist David Jolly, one of two Republicans vying for deceased Rep. Bill Young´s (R-Fla.) seat. Barker makes the endorsement in a new campaign ad that will run during a special "The Price Is Right" episode on Thursday. The ad could help Jolly win over perhaps the key demographic in the GOP primary race: seniors. According to National Journal´s Almanac of American Politics, more than a fifth of Young´s district is over 64 — the target demographic for "The Price Is Right." The ad is set to run Thursday as Barker makes a
Paul Ryan wants everyone in D.C. to remember the Rolling Stones. “There’s this older British guy who says ‘you can’t always get what you want, but if you try sometimes you just might find, you get what you need,” he said on Thursday’s Morning Joe with a smile. Ryan is fighting for the budget he negotiated with Washington’s Sen. Patty Murray (D), but not everyone is happy. Major tea party-allied groups came out in advance of the deal to condemn it. Tea party darlings Sens. Marco Rubio, Rand Paul and Ted Cruz, all expressed disappointment in the deal, as well
On Tuesday, Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wis., and Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash., revealed their budget plan to the world. I would say it was immediately met with complaints, but those complaints started before it was introduced. Is it perfect? Absolutely not. But are there other plans? No. Outside groups called for opposing it before they’d read it, Members of Congress said they’d vote against it before they knew what was in it. I’d like to take these people with me to buy lottery tickets since they seem to have some form of clairvoyance. I get the anger of conservatives, I’m right
Washington- American Airlines kicked off its freshly minted status as the world´s largest carrier Thursday with an aggressive order for $3.9 billion worth of regional jets from Brazil´s Embraer and Canada´s Bombardier. Three days after completing its merger with US Airways, the new American said it had inked deals to buy 30 CJR900 NextGen aircraft from Bombardier, and 60 Embraer E175s. Bombardier said its deal was worth $1.42 billion, while Embraer put a $2.5 billion value on its order. American also has options to buy an additional 40 CJR900s and 90 E175s. American said the 76-seat regional jets ordered will
New York — The anchor who might beat Bill O’Reilly gets her eyelash extensions applied one at a time, with tweezers and dabs of glue, about 90 minutes before showtime, right after a motorized gun sprays foundation over her face, neck, shoulders, collarbone and sternum, wiping out a galaxy of light freckles that spreads across her — Let me stop you right there. Photos of the day Uruguay legalizes marijuana, Kiev police pull back from protesters, aging U.S. prison population and more. Tuesday´s Photos of the day Would you write this way about a man? About O’Reilly himself? At least that’s what Megyn Kelly might ask at
In August 2013 I became very sick with what I thought was a cold. After a few days I lost vision in my left eye and I checked into the hospital. I soon found out that what I thought was a summer cold was actually Strep bacteria poisoning my blood stream. The bacteria blinded my left eye, ate a hole through my heart, caused five strokes on both sides of my brain and forced the removal of my prosthetic left knee. Dr. Lee was the surgeon assigned to perform open heart surgery. What was originally scheduled to last four hours ended
When I was a kid, I knew two different Santa Clauses. The first had a fat belly, rosy cheeks, a long white beard, and skin as pink as bubble gum. He was omnipresent, visiting my pre-school and the local mall, visible in all of my favorite Christmas specials. Then there was the Santa in my family’s household, in the form of ornaments, cards, and holiday figurines. A near-carbon copy of the first one—big belly, rosy cheeks, long white beard: check, check, check. But his skin was as dark as mine. Seeing two different Santas was bewildering. Eventually I asked my father what
Johannesburg - A man who provided sign language interpretation on stage for Nelson Mandela´s memorial service, attended by scores of heads of state, was a "fake," the national director of the Deaf Federation of South Africa said on Tuesday. Asked about the claim by The Associated Press, South Africa´s government said it was preparing a statement. Three sign language experts said the man was not signing in South African or American sign languages. South African sign language covers all of the country´s 11 official languages, according to the federation. It wasn´t immediately clear if the unidentified man was using a
The health director who approved the release of President Obama’s birth certificate has died in a plane crash, Hawaiian officials said Thursday. Loretta Fuddy died after the Cessna Grand Caravan aircraft she was travelling on went down shortly after leaving Kalaupapa Airport at around 3:15 p.m. local time (10:15 a.m. ET) on Wednesday. The other eight people on board were rescued, Richard Schuman, president of Makani Kai Air, told NBC News early Thursday, adding that that there was no indication as to why the plane had crashed. Fuddy hit the headlines two years ago when she approved a waiver request allowing Obama to
House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) snapped at conservative groups that have come out in opposition to the budget deal reached Wednesday between Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) and Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.). "They´re using the American people for their own purposes. This is ridiculous," Boehner said at a press conference with other members of House Republican leadership on Wednesday. Over the past few days, a number of conservative groups have blasted the deal because it sets discretionary spending levels in the budget higher than previous levels under sequestration. In the past three days, the influential Heritage Action, Club for Growth, Americans
Views of the tea party are at all-time lows in a new poll, as primary challenges to establishment Republicans continue to heat up Washington. Just 30 percent of Americans view the tea party favorably in a new Gallup poll released Wednesday, the movement’s lowest point since Gallup began polling about it during its rise in 2010. Also in a first, a majority of Americans had an unfavorable view of the tea party, at 51 percent. Similar numbers of respondents described themselves as proponents or opponents of the tea party: Twenty-two percent identified themselves as tea party supporters, while 24 percent said they
Looks like this president can’t get away with flirting in front of his wife… It appears that first lady Michelle Obama was none too pleased with the way that President Barack Obama was acting toward Denmark Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt during a ceremony honoring Nelson Mandela, and before too long, they switched seats. This lmao! Michelle Obama vs Prime Minister of Denmark at Mandela´s ceremony. pic.twitter.com/Rq4uF9fTaZ — Stun (@TheBlogPirate) December 10, 2013
The sign language interpreter at Nelson Mandela´s memorial yesterday "made up his own signs," according to South Africa´s deaf federation. "He´s a complete fraud," Cara Loening, director of Sign Language Education and Development in Cape Town, said according to ITV News. "He wasn´t even doing anything, There was not one sign there. Nothing. He was literally flapping his arms around." Delphin Hlungwane, an official South African sign language interpreter at DeafSA, told Reuters:
THE Internet has been abuzz over the spectacle of President Obama and the prime ministers of Britain and Denmark snapping a photo of themselves — a “selfie,” to use the mot du jour — with a smartphone at the memorial service for Nelson Mandela in South Africa on Tuesday. Leaving aside whether it was appropriate, the moment captured the democratization of image making that is a hallmark of our gadget-filled, technologically rich era. Manifestly undemocratic, in contrast, is the way Mr. Obama’s administration — in hypocritical defiance of the principles of openness and transparency he campaigned on — has systematically tried
If you go down on the ice today you´re sure of a big surprise - a rare glimpse of 20 polar bears gorging on a bloody midnight feast. These photographs show a rare cluster of males, females and cubs all dining out on the remains of a whale carcass. They spent a night and a day stripping every last morsel from the mammoth sea creature. Usually Polar bears are solitary and would never tolerate being so close to each other. But with food in plentiful supply and bellies dragging on the floor they seem too lethargic to fight.Wildlife photographer Michal
