British teens in hospital
after Zanzibar acid attack

Two British teenage girls were being treated for burns at a London hospital on Saturday after acid was hurled in their faces in the Indian Ocean island of Zanzibar.(snip)Tanzania is predominantly Muslim, and the attack happened at the end of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan as people were beginning to celebrate the Eid al-Fitr holiday. Some of the island´s more conservative Muslims object to foreign tourists who wear revealing clothes, as well as bars selling alcohol. One of the girls had posted on her Twitter page that she had been hit by a Muslim woman

I pray that the girls cosmetically recover. But what idiot parent would let their daughter go to a Muslim country? Really? I fear that pictures will forever be a reminder of this stupidity.

What makes this incident even worse is that Britons live with a huge muslim population right in their midst and they seem oblivious to the dangers they sent their two teenage daughters to live in.

Can anyone say Natalie Holloway?

As observers, we are concerned about if not horrified by what we perceive as a certain Islamification of Britain. Britons themselves seem determinedly "see, hear and speak no evil" about it. I can confirm this after a recent visit with friends there. They are, literally, too polite to object.

This may prompt a blip on their PC radar and in their denial, but I predict - not much more!

With all due respect to #1, women are being attacked in Scandinavia, as well, and any country in Europe with a high number of Muslim immigrants. The incidence of rape in Sweden and Norway has skyrocketed, and probably 95 percent are perpetrated by Muslim men.

#5 I completely agree with you about the horror of the Islamification of Britain. However, I don´t see much hope that this would "prompt a blip on their PC radar and in their denial" because absolutely nothing has changed since the barbaric, heinous beheading in broad daylight of that British soldier. If that didn´t terrorize them and bring them to their senses nothing will.

Dittos #3. Didn´t the beheading of that poor young man slap those parents hard enough for the reality to sink in?

I just don´t get parents who willingly offer their kids up to the monsters of the world. I appreciate the girls wanting to help disadvantaged people, but muslims do not respect women or anyone who is not of their cult.

#7, by "blip", I meant that even they would be sure to at least notice this particularly egregious incident since it hit home, and would be revolted for a nanosecond more or less - but would then return to their usual, thick wall of denial and silent PC. Seems useless to hope for more. I admire the British; it´s just that sometimes they resemble their sheep a bit (hope our dear resident Brit isn´t offended by that - just a comment on the politics).

To the idiots who wrote this article: Tanzania (acronym for Tanganyika and Zanzibar) is not a predominantly Moslem country. The areas near the Indian Ocean have a mainly Moslem population (because of their slave trading heritage) but most of the country is Christian.Zanzibar had a very notorious slave market.

Kim Jong-un has taken on his role as North Korea’s Supreme Leader with gusto — even, if reports are to be believed, culling some members of his own family. He expects his people to follow his lead — from haircuts through to behaviour and rarely shows his relaxed side. That is until he gets mobbed. By females. Specifically, hot Korean ladies. Just moments earlier he showed his formal, restrained side by posing alongside members of the Korean People’s Army. Then the admirers came running. We’ve never seen Kimmy’s smile so wide. He bathed in the female attention.

The research published in the journal Nature Climate Change challenges the Obama administration´s conclusions that biofuels are a much cleaner oil alternative and will help fight climate change. The study is being criticized by the biofuels industry and Obama administration as flawed. Corn residue is one of the most promising ways to make cellulosic biofuels. The Obama administration is poised to entertain a flood of new clemency applications from thousands of federal prisoners who were given harsh sentences under mandatory-minimum laws following drug convictions, Attorney General Eric Holder said Monday. Holder said in a short videotaped statement that he wants to shrink the federal prison population by a modest amount while ensuring ´that those who have paid their debts have a chance to become productive citizens.´ At the center of the move is a set of old sentencing rules that punished crack-cocaine offenders with more time behind bars than users or traffickers of powder cocaine.

There’s a pattern of falsifying statistics throughout the entire Census Bureau. As I’ve been writing for more than six months, the Census Bureau office in Philadelphia uncovered a case of fraud in 2010, did nothing about it and allowed the practice to continue. In that instance, a data collector named Julius Buckmon was faking reports that went into the nation’s all-important jobless tally and consumer-inflation survey.
