Report: Zawahiri-Led ´Conference
Call´ Led to Embassy Closings

Weekly Standard, by Michael Warren

Original Article

Posted By:KarenJ1, 8/9/2013 9:00:45 PM

Over at the Long War Journal, Thomas Joscelyn and Bill Roggio confirm the report that the closings of more than 20 U.S. embassies earlier this week was the result of intercepted communications between al Qaeda leader Ayman al Zawahiri and several al Qaeda operatives. The story was first reported by Eli Lake and Josh Rogin at the Daily Beast, while Joscelyn and Roggio confirm with their own sources: Several US officials contacted by The Long War Journal have confirmed that the Zawahiri-led communication first reported by the Daily Beast did in fact occur.

And because of the leaks that they deemed politically useful by the traitorous regime, further information was forever lost. I´m almost to the point where I have run out of adjectives to describe my utter contempt for 0bama and his regime.

Leaking this information (no doubt by someone not a stone´s throw from Obama himself) is a national security disaster. It is likely to result in the death of lots of potential CIA informers close to al Zawahiri. It will be a massive disincentive for future informers. And it will shut down the communication link that the leak was based on. As the then national security advisor Gates famously said: the White House needs to shut the f... up.

i still have a hard time believing that Zawahiri et all were on the phone. that seems reckless to me - unbelievably stupid. and i don´t think Zawahiri is stupid - but i do believe our leadership can be. are they telling the truth to us on this?

Terrorist threats do not end within one week. They are ongoing. The re-opening of 18 of the
embassies proves that the Administration is full of hot air, ( to be kind ). What occurred to lessen the threat of one week ago?

The behavior is out of character. Therefore, like all those "sealed indictments" concerning Benghazi, the story is not true.

Please remember that the plan of taking down the World Trade Center took them eight and a half years to bring to fruition.

Closing embassies and consulates for a week just isn´t going to cut it.

Al Qaeda is just itching to embarrass Obie with an embassy bombing now.

How people can still be so gullible amazes me. This entire fiasco was conjured up to counter CNN´s Jake Tapper Benghazi report. It obviously worked. His revelations are now out there in the ether never to be heard from again. Remember, these are the same people who cooked up the Mohammed video ruse and some rubes actually still believe it.

kinda´ like a conference call ~ in slow motion ~

The ongoing automated mail-cover operation that takes place in every major country on the planet for every piece of letter mail scarfed up the fact that the principals in AlQaida were using old fashioned letter mail to communicate with each other. Appropriate follow-ups were made and there you have it.

BTW, all this same sort of equipment is installed in major postal facilities throughout the Middle East ~ which makes it almost impossible for anyone in the spy/terrorist business to use the mails ~ but they didn´t now about that until this embassy closing activity.

Now they know.

In this modern age of instant electronic communication, unless you posses very sophistic cryptographic equipment(and expensive) just about any and all communications can be intercepted. Our own military spends millions of dollars every year to encrypt some of it´s most sensitive communications, including some of the presidents. One big problem for al Qaeda would be that the codes have to be changed frequently to prevent interception. And I´m not so sure that al Qaeda, given it´s necessity to move about frequently, would have the means or methods to have such a network.

Yes, Obie, or more likely his national security people, made up this vague terrorist threat to attempt to gain sympathy for his NSA snooping. He is not smart enough to formulate a workable tactic. The timing is just too good to coincide with his recent speeches justifying the interception of communications.

I happen to approve of NSA monitoring, both here and abroad, if a competent government is data mining for terrorist threats, but that´s not the case in the Obie regime.

Closing and re-opening 18 embassies just made them look like over-reactive fools to the entire world but they couldn´t afford to keep them closed on a falsehood. If there was a credible threat, it still exists.

I personally do not believe a word of the Administration´s threat warning. If it existed it would not not be over in just a week; it would be ongoing. Dems will do anything to create a diversion from the multiplicity of scandals affecting the Administration. The leader of the pack is a liar. ( in my opinion ). Did the so-called threat dissolve because the terrorists had
to go back to work after their week´s vacation ? Their job is to create havoc and violence against Western interests anywhere and everywhere and anytime they can. They don´t just pack up and go home because the U>S> closed their embassies for 6 days. Obama´s tact is to blame, scare, lecture,

One of two things. If the administration had truly intercepted this highly prized information, why would they blow their "cover" an announce so publicly the closings of the embassies? Wouldn´t it have been better to close those embassies quietly so as not to tip their hand on exactly what we are capable of doing? Or, Zero Nero and his incompetents totally blew it, were set up by Zawahiri (or Yaba Daba Doo as Levin says) and the wizards of smart went for the baited hook, and now Yaba knows somewhat of our capability and how we might react.

You know it´s hard to tell just what is happening because when this administration is not lying it is screwing things up so badly.

President Obama labeled complaints about voter fraud “bogus” and accused Republicans of cynically trying to prevent Americans from accessing the polls in a fiery speech Friday at a civil rights forum hosted by Al Sharpton. Obama argued that attempts in some states to impose new voter identification restrictions were actually efforts by Republicans to make “it harder, not easier to vote.” And the president said that while voter fraud should be prevented, it rarely occurred. “So let´s be clear, the real voter fraud is the people who try to deny our rights by making bogus arguments about voter fraud,” Obama said.
