Obama Says Insurance Will Be
´Significantly Cheaper´ Under
Obamacare, But That Isn´t True

Weekly Standard, by John McCormack

Original Article

Posted By:KarenJ1, 8/9/2013 8:52:42 PM

At a White House press conference Friday afternoon, President Obama said that health insurance plans offered under Obamacare will be "significantly cheaper" than plans currently on the market, but a string of recent reports say that isn´t true. "What happens on October 1, in 53 days, is for the remaining 15 percent of the population that doesn´t have health insurance, they´re going to be able to go on a website or call up a call center and sign up for affordable, quality health insurance at a significantly cheaper rate than what they can get right now on

Comments:
0bama the pathological liar continues to get away with the manure he spews forth. This caused me to start screaming at the television. Of course not one of those sycophants in the media bothered to question their King. That press conference was a complete joke.

During the next election campaign, all the GOP has to do is show clips of what Obama says in public, and then the data/ speech/ facts that are contrary to his statements. We all know our health insurance premiums are going nowhere but UP, and we all know that Obama is a blatant liar, and this is not an opinion, but fact. The more untrue the point, the bigger the lie he tells. Health Insurance premiums are increasing in all areas of the U.S. and the President stands in front of the Nation and says they are decreasing. He is either demented, delusional, or a liar, or a combination. It is a FACT the UP is UP, not down. His stupidity makes me nauseous. All my opinions, except for the facts presented. Obama lives in a different Universe than we do.

O will say anything. In this case it doesn´t matter. The ObamaCare start dates are approaching and the facts, not lies, not analyses, not propaganda, will begin to emerge.

Even then the truth will take a beating every day. The government will fake the numbers in every possible way, the WH will spin everything into a victory, and most of the media will continue to praise O and condemn the GOP.

When I look at a number in the news I ask myself how easily it can be manipulated. Some are hard to fake, others are pliable.

In that case our tax dollars should not have to pay $30-48 an hour for inexperienced navigators to knock on every door like census takers.

So we´re spending a couple trillion to insure 15% more people. They could have given those people a personal,live-in doctor for that kind of money.

I´ve also noticed that rates are going up higher in republican ran states but I´m sure that´s just a coincidence.

One notable thing about this press conference, Obie was not out there with his usual scolding, in-your-face, dictatorial tone. It was almost like he was pleading with us to believe him.

The lies, however, were just as blatant and obvious.

That facts say that they already get health care for free just by showing up at the emergency rooms for every type of treatment. I predict that not very many will buy into obamacare.

She actually believes that all health care will be free any time, anywhere & push-button accessible. I´ve come to the conclusion that they live in this fairy land of make-believe because they are sheltered from too many of life´s tough decisions - (think Lo-Info´s with everything in their lives paid for by tax-payers). The fact of the matter is that it does not matter if premiums go up or down. The vast majority of Americans have their health insurance/health care paid for by someone else. Most employed people receive their insurance through, or from, their employer. The next large group receives their health care through Medicare. Then there are those receiving their health care, paid for by the taxpayers, through Medicaid.

The final group is those who purchase their own health insurance or pay their own medical bills without the benefit of health insurance. We´re told this is about 15% of the population.

It´s too bad for the last group. Many pay grossly inflated costs as punishment for not being able to afford to pay health insurance premiums. Try reading about a hospital´s chargemaster listed prices.

President Obama has demonstrated he is not concerned about the last group. He has never had to pay for his own health insurance, much less applied for his own individual coverage. The same goes for all those making decisions about our health benefit coverages in the day of Obama care.

By the way, if you are expecting a credit to help you pay for your health insurance premiums, you will never see the credit if you owe money to the IRS.

#3, unfortunately just like before the last election the wimpy Republicans will not say much, as Obama and the liberal Democrats blame the Republicans for everything bad that has happened in the last eight years.

Obama will claim that if the Republicans had listened to him that all those bad things would not have happened, and unfortunately 50 million people in the country who voted for Obama last time around will believe him.

Calling obozo a "nice guy but misguided" is the type of idiocy that got us 4 more years of a POS instead of a POTUS. Afraid to call his incompetence because of what the media will say. Did Barry ever pay for health insurance for himself and/or his family? Or was he covered under a policy at his job at the law firm, or Michelle´s occasional-show $350,000 job, or his Illinois state senate job, then his US Senate and now president job?

All these possibilities indicate he probably had pretty good coverage with little or no employee contribution.

That history sure doesn´t qualify him as a health insurance expert.

Then-Sens. Joe Biden and John Kerry were both opposed to Hillary Clinton’s 1993 health-care reform program, according to documents released by the Clinton presidential library. Clinton marked a handwritten “No” beside Biden’s name on Clinton’s list of Capitol Hill lawmakers that she needed to win over for her universal health care law, known as the “Clinton health plan” or “Hillarycare,” to pass. John Kerry, meanwhile, was marked with a “Probably not.” “Hillarycare” ended up dying in the Democratic-controlled Senate in 1994 without coming to a floor vote. As vice president, Biden has been a loyal supporter of the Obama administration’s health-care reform law. Secretary

Several elements of his comments were misleading: (1) At first blush, the 35 percent stat is both significant and impressive. When it comes to tracking the cost of Obama family vacations, there are two primary challenges. First, the Obamas are prolific jet-setters, so there are many details to track. Second, the Obama administration, clearly embarrassed by these lavish and frequent family vacations, stonewalls the release of records at every turn. But we have been relentless in pursuit of this information. Our attorneys file the lawsuits and make our case, and our investigators pour through pages of records and crunch the numbers. And the information we’ve uncovered – information that would otherwise remain under lock and key – shows that the

It’s the stuff of Westerns: a showdown on the desert plains, the big bad government against an underdog farmer. Though the story has only grabbed national headlines in the past several days, rancher Cliven Bundy has illegally grazed cattle on the Nevada land surrounding his farm for over 20 years. He hasn’t paid grazing fees since 1993, and refuses to renew the necessary grazing permit.(Snip)Rather than using the avenues and pathways presented to him, Bundy has staunchly declared his own law and allegiances. Unfortunately, reality doesn’t work this way. If only it did—we could rebel for paying stupid taxes, refuse to

A group of seven multiracial Washington and Lee University (W&L) students are demanding the school remove all Confederate flags from campus and "acknowledge" General Robert E. Lee´s "dishonorable side." According to the Roanoke Times, "seven multiracial students, calling themselves ´The Committee,´" have also demanded the school "acknowledge and apologize for participating in chattel slavery." They want recognition of "Martin Luther King Jr. Day on the undergraduate campus" and an end to "neo-Confederates" marching across campus "to the Lee Chapel on Lee-Jackson Day." The students say they will "engage in civil disobedience" if their demands are not met by September 1st. They added: "The

WASHINGTON — Former President Jimmy Carter joined fellow Nobel laureates Wednesday in opposing Keystone XL, insisting that approving the pipeline would trigger “more climate upheaval” around the globe. In an open letter to President Barack Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry, Carter and the nine other Nobel Peace Prize winners bluntly warned the leaders: “Your decision on the Keystone XL tar sands pipeline will define your climate legacy.” The missive, published as an advertisement in Politico, represents the first time Carter has taken a position on the $5.4 billion project and makes him the first former president to come

To "honor the dignity and work of immigrants," Democratic House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi helps Bishop Marc Andrus wash the feet of two children Thursday at Saint John the Evangelist Episcopal Church in San Francisco. Pelosi also used the occasion to talk about passing HR15 - bipartisan immigration legislation that her office says would "reduce the deficit by nearly $1 trillion, secure our borders, unite our families, protect our workers and provide an earned pathway to citizenship." The Democratic leader´s ceremony coincides with Pope Francis´ similar ceremony in Rome to mark Holy Week.

Imagine a vendor on the National Mall, selling burgers and dogs, who hasn’t paid his rent in 20 years. He refuses to recognize his landlord, the National Park Service, as a legitimate authority. Every court has ruled against him, and fines have piled up. What’s more, the effluents from his food cart are having a detrimental effect on the spring grass in the capital. Would an armed posse come to his defense, aiming their guns at the park police? Would the lawbreaker get prime airtime on Fox News, breathless updates in the Drudge Report, a sympathetic ear from Tea Party Republicans?

First, the good news: We are close enough to the end of the Obama presidency for his crowd to talk about a presidential library. Now, the bad news: Obama´s retirement is still 1,008 days distant. Plenty of time though to round up the dough to build it somewhere. Figure they need Solyndra-style money, at least $500 million. The last two presidents – Bill Clinton and George W. Bush -- built their legacy edifices totally with private money. [Snip] However, Obama supporters have a different take. They think taxpayers should put up $100 million in public money for Obama´s library.

Less than 16 hours after Chelsea Clinton announced she was pregnant, a lot of major news outlets started staring into the crystal ball of Chelsea’s womb, wondering what this currently floating zygotic multicellular being meant for the prospects of Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign, which is also a floating, zygotic, multicellular being. Their answer: The immaculately conceived Clinton child could mean everything. And no, it’s not just the fact that having a grandchild could be personally fulfilling to Hillary and Bill (mazel tov, by the way), or that a cute baby would be a sweet cherry on top of Hillary’s already

The first step is admitting… It was a simple question to someone accustomed to much tougher ones: What was her proudest achievement as secretary of state? But for a moment, Hillary Rodham Clinton, appearing recently before a friendly audience at a women’s forum in Manhattan, seemed flustered.(Snip)So…no definitive successes and some clear-cut failures. And that’s the generous New York Times assessment. The Democrat fantasy story about Mrs. Clinton paints her as strong and accomplished on her own. In reality, this is a woman who is professionally defined almost entirely by two men in her life, both of whom happen to have
