Nation´s top sociologist: Obamacare
is an ´anti-poverty program´ for
blacks, Latinos

Washington Examiner, by Paul Bedard

Obamacare is an "anti-poverty program" aiding poor blacks and Latinos, especially in inner cities, and will help those minorities win health insurance they otherwise wouldn´t get, according to Harvard´s — and the nation´s — leading expert on poverty. In a paper that marks the 25th anniversary of his groundbreaking study of the poor, "The Truly Disadvantaged," Harvard sociologist William Julius Wilson said that without Obamacare and the president´s first-term stimulus programs, poverty in the nation would be far worse. "Quite frankly, I think that Obama´s programs have prevented poverty, including concentrated poverty, from rapidly rising,

Comments:
Oh puhleeze! Wilson thinks that Obama´s programs have prevented poverty, including concentrated poverty, from rapidly rising?? It is stunning to read these outright lies from Wilson. It once again illustrates that just because you possess a Harvard degree and many honorary doctorates, it doesn´t make your theories truthful or accurate.

Gunnar and Alva Myrdal pointed out decades ago that a health care program focused on the poor would provide a socially acceptable framework for reducing America´s black population. Hey! It´s working! And the stooges are still stooging away!!! Were they geniuses or what?

I wonder if Julius Wilson is aware the pope is Catholic? But of course, the reason for pointing this out in such a way is to lay the ground work for saying you are RACIST if you oppose Obamacare.

Progressive? Communist? Nazi?
Obamacare is designed to collapse our medical system and to institute total government control over health and financial affairs enforced by the Dem controlled union NTEU which harassed conservatives to suppress their vote. It has nothing to do with preventing poverty or improving healthcare. LIES.

One wonders about the pipe dream that the poor and downtrodden are going to enroll in an insurance program that will cost $20,000.00 a year when they are living ten to a room and collectively make less than that.

Anti-poverty programs do just what they are intended to do. Make sure that the beneficiaries stay that way forever.

Besides the boloney in the piece, he has told everyone why so many blacks and Hispanics voted for Obama, they think that Obama is going to provide them will "free" health care insurance. That´s not going to happen. The Democrats recognize all that, but the stupid Republicans are still out there thinking that Hispanic voters disregarded them because a lot of Republican candidates were against amnesty for millions of illegal aliens. Amnesty would only split up the government social welfare benefit pie into a lot more pieces, poor Blacks and Hispanics who can vote now don´t want that to happen.

It is not the government´s responsibility and the government does not have the right to take money from some people to give to others to fight poverty. Unless we as a nation recognize this limit on government, no one´s property, wealth or income is safe. We will soon see our standard of living become like that of Zimbabwe and other countries that refuse to protect property rights.

#13, the poor won´t be buying anything, they will be getting for "free", like they do now.

More people will be driven into the "poor" level.

Being dependent on government is a state of bondage, NOT liberty.

All command-and-control regimes enslave their populations, leaving for themselves the best of everything, and lack nothing. In the USSR, this was the Nomenklatura.

Then there were the Party functionaries, the drones, appartchiki. Then the masses, the nameless, faceless millions who grasped and clawed for the crumbs the regime tossed out to them.

Those people could never hope for more or better. They could not hope at all.

I am so sick of lying leftists thinking they can just say something and therefore it will be accepted as true. Lying, evil lefties only care about their own wealth and power. They care NOTHING for other people´s economic status. They only want to control others for their own benefit.

For the first time ever, researchers at Northwestern University have analyzed the relationship between casual use of marijuana and brain changes – and found that young adults who used cannabis just once or twice a week showed significant abnormalities in two important brain structures. The study’s findings, to be published Wednesday in the Journal of Neuroscience, are similar to those of past research linking chronic, long-term marijuana use with mental illness and changes in brain development. A fascinating article by Francis Wilkinson appeared in Bloomberg View last week (h/t Instapundit). Wilkinson detailed the fact that income inequality between whites and blacks is worse in leftist cities: Minneapolis-St. Paul. San Francisco. Chicago. Even Madison, Wisconsin. If you are politically liberal and value relatively high levels of income equality, you might live in one of these quintessentially liberal U.S. cities. Yet all four lurk in the bottom half of the 2014 National Urban League’s State of Black America report on income inequality between blacks and whites. Although the Civil Rights Act, the landmark legislation which just reached its 50th anniversary, made great strides in desegregating the economy, economic discrimination is still widespread, and anti-discrimination legislation alone can never rectify the economic damage inflicted upon blacks by slavery and our Jim Crow apartheid regime. The Civil Rights Act was a mild reform, all things considered, but one conservatives fought with vigor and one many conservatives are still bitter about to this day. When the Civil Rights Act passed in 1964, the primary purpose was to root out discrimination in public accommodations (like hotels and movie theaters)
