You can get a deconstruction of the media at many places. The people who visit the Treehouse want to see the entire context; The entire truth, as it presents. So here we go…. In any endeavor of corruption and misleading governance, the control of, and support by, the media, is an absolute necessity. The USSR needed Pravda to keep the ruse of governance for decades. The need of/by the U.S. government has steadily grown over the course of several progressive decades; but the urgency has increased exponentially over the past five years with the extremes
Comments: This important article is shocking in describing the lengths CNN went to hide the truth. I was proven right because I was skeptical when I read they were going to do a special on Benghazi. They can now be given credit for reporting this story without it being truthful. This is nothing more than propaganda and is designed so that 0bama and his regime are not shown to be complicit in hiding the truth. How unfortunate for our nation that we don´t have dogged investigative reporters like this in the MSM.
I watched the show. Erin Burnett asked tough questions. I was shocked that CNN would produce such a show about a subject that the WH would obviously like buried. The Treehouse is guilty of cherry-picking facts here to build it´s case and in doing so they unfortunately lose credibility. It´s just as wrong to omit as it is to error in what´s reported. The 1 hr show show featured a clip of Hillary in green THREE TIMES screeching, "What difference does it make?"! Under NO circumstances would the WH want her disastrous performance to be highlighted THREE times! Yet, The Treehouse ignores this and describes the show as "prime-time propaganda in the extreme." There are many other examples of CNN´s surprising attempt at objectivity, which The Treehouse neglects to mention. Interviews with the families of the 4 killed Americans humanized Benghazigate and made Hillary and the WH appear even more inept or deceptive. How can that possibly be seen as BO propaganda? I haven´t watched CNN in years. Although the show was not a stellar example of objectivity, it certainly was ENCOURAGING to see CNN take a (tiny) step in our direction. Perhaps providing positive feedback for their attempt at fairness might be more constructive than railing against media bias and then omitting important facts to prove a point.
I didn´t watch it so I don´t know for certain but maybe the clip of Hillary was shown 3 times as a means of convincing viewers that it really doesn´t make any difference. After all, most CNN viewers think that she´s the smartest woman who ever walked the planet and if she says it, it must be true.
I thought the Benghazi story did present some difficult truths, but danced around the most important questions. They treated Obama like an innocent bystander - never raising the issue of his whereabouts being accounted for all through that night. They mentioned there were 35 survivors of the attack, but never wondered who they were, and why they have been silenced.
Erin Burnett asked tough questions? Please. She´s just another lefty shill who wouldn´t tell the truth if it went against her dyed in the wool progressive talking points. Of course, if you´re going to CNN for your news and opinion...
Edward Bernays would be so proud. We´ve been manipulated for multiple generations; it´s just that now they´ve become a little less careful covering themselves. Or, we´ve become a little more educated. And cynical. Cynicism is good - it´s a survival tool...
I share #9´s view that CNN did a lot better job than I expected... of course my expectations were low. Besides showing Hillary´s ineptness it did present the fact that there was a stand down order. No, it didn´t pursue who issued it, but then, we don´t know that and CNN isn´t going to join the VRWC and speculate.
Overall, I think it showed the administration as inept and out of touch.
CNN is paid by the US government for reporting on some events, and not reporting on others. She shares: the Obama Administration pays CNN for content control. [bolding mine]
Not that I am anywhere near shocked, but if CNN is getting paid by this Administration, how many other "news" outlets are doing likewise? This could easily explain why there is so much liberal bias: They´re being paid for it.
Not that they don´t list to port anyway, but sweetening the news pot with some extra big money would go a long way toward understanding why liberal outlets don´t dare jeopardize the cash flow by reporting the truth.
#18 Bingo. ABCNBCCBS are no different. Bought and paid for by the DNC or whatever leftist $$$ pockets is so willing to pay. How much is paid to Rooters and Ass Press? NPR is the model and it has been replayed over and over. MSPMS is simply the experimental crap slinger and they do it for cheap. Isn´t that right Chrissieboy?
I hope this isn´t new news to those of us aware of the tactics of the MSM.
It is precisely what I conjectured when first learning of their piece - they would try to give their story credibility, somehow, and declare their version the truthful one, revealing nothing of note, and hoping thus to end discussion and investigation.
Who didn´t figure out this was their plan?
I didn´t watch it because of course it was going to be a Goebbels-like propaganda piece - sophisticated, but not nearly enough.
We haven´t watched cnn for decades but we did watch this production and observed how it minimized the following weeks & weeks of 0bama and Hillary´s insistence that a video was the cause for the attack. Rice and 0bama´s entire Administration continued that deceptive bogus lie and the lsm bombarded the airways with their fabrications, even after the truth was exposed. The lefty history revisionists are apparently already busy on this one.
Regarding the Benghazi attack, 0bama/Hillary and THEIR dem pols and THEIR dem media again displayed they have no shame and presenting the truth is NOT their game. They but display their pattern to COVER-UP, hide, obscure and lie about their relentless, now apparently ruthless, statist agenda & policy disasters.
I watched Erin Burnett´s crock of crap, and wondered when I´d see something about it. I´ve heard of the Treehouse before, but never checked it out until now. This post is incredible. Please continue allowing posts like this. WOW!
I haven´t watched CNN in 20 years but did watch the Erin Burnett debacle. There were no "tough" questions. She did not point out anything new. She did not hold Obama and his dimwits accountable for their cowardly acts that night, resulting in the death of 4 Americans. She ended the show by blaming the lack of answers to Bengahzi on Obama´s election agenda and on the Republicans "seeking revenge". Huh? The Republicans were nowhere near Benghazi that night. No, there was no objectivity by Burnett.
President Obama has recalled John Podesta to work at the White House as a “counselor.” Podesta is the Clinton hand who founded the far-left Center for American Progress (home of the clownish Think Progress blog). Podesta’s appointment, which needs no congressional approval, comes at a time when Obama is already making moves to do without Congress. He has used executive actions to re-write Obamacare, and to recalibrate immigration law, both in ways that just happen to favor either himself or the Democrats. The New York Times reports that Podesta will work on executive actions when he returns to the White
On CNN’s “Reliable Sources” on Sunday, new host Brian Stelter turned to President Obama the press critic. At the end of his cakewalk “Hardball” interview last week, Obama called out the media for being divisive. “The American people are good and they are decent. And yes, we get very divided partly because our politics and our media specifically tries to divide them and splinter them.” Stelter asked a decent question about whether that was an odd statement to make on divisive MSNBC. NPR television critic Eric Deggans shot that down, insisting MSNBC was a “great place” to attack cable news
Former CIA Director Leon Panetta revealed classified information at a 2011 awards ceremony attended by Zero Dark Thirty filmmaker Mark Boal, according to documents obtained by the conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch. The CIA allowed Boal, the screenwriter of Zero Dark Thirty, to attend a June 24, 2011 award ceremony celebrating the successful raid on Osama bin Laden’s hideout in Abbottabad, Pakistan that May. A transcript of Panetta’s speech that night obtained by Judicial Watch is labeled “top secret,” and significant portions of it are redacted. At the conclusion his speech, Panetta told the audience, “You have made me proud
UPDATE: Rep. Paul Ryan and Sen. Patty Murray unveiled a budget proposal Tuesday night. The proposal, which has yet to be voted on, busts through sequester caps, setting FY 2014 spending at $1.014 trillion — billions beyond the levels mandated by sequester. The proposal contains no mention of pension reform. Conservatives had better start paying attention to the budget battle raging in Washington: If things go south — and they are poised to do just that — the tea party’s single greatest policy victory, the sequester, could be destroyed. And worse yet, it could be destroyed in exchange for nothing. The sequester
Approval of ObamaCare in the United States has risen eight percentage points in the last month, according to a new poll. Thirty-nine percent of people now approve of the law, according to a CBS News/New York Times poll released Tuesday evening. Half of the public, by contrast, disapproves of ObamaCare, the poll found. Nearly 60 percent say they don’t think the sign-up process for ObamaCare is going well, but more than one-third say it’s improving. These figures come in just ten days after the administration touted the repaired federal portal for the insurance, HealthCare.gov. Obama’s general job approval rating has increased to 42 percent,
Rep. Karen Bass (D-Calif.), in an appearance on MSNBC´s "PoliticsNation" on Friday, condemned former Sen. Rick Santorum´s comments comparing Nelson Mandela´s fight against apartheid to the fight against Obamacare as "shameful." "And actually if I was going to make a comparison, I would make the opposite comparison, because I think the struggle for justice, which Nelson Mandela led for so many years is similar as the struggle for the health care as a right for people in the richest country in the world, and so the idea that they would make that comparison in the opposite way is just tragic,"
According to a new Rasmussen Report, the majority of Americans do not believe the deportation of illegal immigrants living in the United States is aggressive enough. More than 20 House Democrats last week urged President Obama to halt the deportation of illegal immigrants until Congress passes a comprehensive immigration reform plan, but voters by a two-to-one margin oppose that idea. Most already think the federal government is not vigilant enough in deporting those who are in this country illegally. Only 29% of Likely U.S. Voters think the government should stop deporting illegal immigrants until Congress passes an immigration reform plan.
Twitchy, the conservative Twitter aggregation site, has been sold for an undisclosed amount to Salem Communications, the Christian radio conglomerate and owners of Hotair.com and Townhall.com. Jonathan Garthwaite, general manager and editor-in-chief of Townhall.com, confirmed the news to BuzzFeed Tuesday, saying he was “excited” to be folding Twitchy into existing Salem news properties. “Media Matters types would like to paint conservatives as boring, old white guys,” Garthwaite said. “Twitchy adds more fun and humor to our platform, which will appeal to totally different generation and break that stereotype.” Launched in March 2012, Twitchy was the brainchild of conservative author and
In a visit to NR’s New York office, Senator Ron Johnson said the fight against Obamacare is entering a new phase: “We’ve got to start talking about transitioning.” Johnson won his Senate seat in 2010 based in large part on his fierce opposition to Obamacare, which he still adamantly opposes as an assault on Americans’ liberty and criticizes in the harshest terms (look no further than his recent weekly radio address). But simple repeal is no longer enough, he believes. He says that Republicans have to acknowledge that the law now exists. “How do you repeal?” he asks. “Yeah, you
President Obama´s appointment of Democratic adviser John Podesta, an opponent of the Keystone XL oil sands pipeline, to the White House could foretell a rejection of the controversial Canada-to-Texas pipeline, environmental groups said Tuesday. Podesta, former President Bill Clinton´s chief of staff and the man who headed Obama´s transition team, is leaving the top post of the Center for American Progress, a left-leaning think tank, for a new White House role focusing on climate change. Obama has vowed to lead an active White House on the issue — the president said in June he would rely on his executive authority to
President Obama is still holding back on firing anyone for the disastrous first two months of the Obamacare roll-out and instead is adding key staff to help steer a smoother course next year. While critics are still calling for heads to roll, some Republicans say Obama´s decision to bring in two well-known Washington players to help right the ship shows he´s serious about shaking up his second-term strategy and execution. Senators on both sides of the aisle are praising the prospect of Obama tapping veteran Democratic strategist John Podesta, a former chief of staff for President Bill Clinton. This week,
MSNBC anchor and NBC News political director and chief White House correspondent Chuck Todd lashed out at Fox News for what he described as "pandering to an audience" over their coverage of President Obama´s enthusiastic handshake with Cuban dictator Raul Castro at Tuesday´s memorial service for Nelson Mandela. Chuck Todd ? @chucktodd Follow Really? An entire segment on a handshake? Good grief; pandering to an audience 10:37 AM - 10 Dec 2013 The irony of an MSNBC anchor accusing another network of pandering to their audience requires no explanation. Todd joins CNN, Politico´s Dylan Byers, and a number of other
When I was a kid, I knew two different Santa Clauses. The first had a fat belly, rosy cheeks, a long white beard, and skin as pink as bubble gum. He was omnipresent, visiting my pre-school and the local mall, visible in all of my favorite Christmas specials. Then there was the Santa in my family’s household, in the form of ornaments, cards, and holiday figurines. A near-carbon copy of the first one—big belly, rosy cheeks, long white beard: check, check, check. But his skin was as dark as mine. Seeing two different Santas was bewildering. Eventually I asked my father what
US President Barack Obama may have moved the masses attending Nelson Mandela’s memorial service with his stirring eulogy, but it was his grinning "selfie" with the Danish and British premiers that set social networks abuzz. In a candid moment captured by a photographer, Denmark’s Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt can be seen holding up her smartphone, with Obama lending a helping hand, as they pose for a picture with David Cameron, all three of them smiling broadly in their seats at Soweto’s World Cup stadium.(Snip)Mashable, the news and technology website, ran the photograph under the headline: ‘‘Dear Obama: Funerals are no place
New York — The anchor who might beat Bill O’Reilly gets her eyelash extensions applied one at a time, with tweezers and dabs of glue, about 90 minutes before showtime, right after a motorized gun sprays foundation over her face, neck, shoulders, collarbone and sternum, wiping out a galaxy of light freckles that spreads across her — Let me stop you right there. Photos of the day Uruguay legalizes marijuana, Kiev police pull back from protesters, aging U.S. prison population and more. Tuesday´s Photos of the day Would you write this way about a man? About O’Reilly himself? At least that’s what Megyn Kelly might ask at
Johannesburg - A man who provided sign language interpretation on stage for Nelson Mandela´s memorial service, attended by scores of heads of state, was a "fake," the national director of the Deaf Federation of South Africa said on Tuesday. Asked about the claim by The Associated Press, South Africa´s government said it was preparing a statement. Three sign language experts said the man was not signing in South African or American sign languages. South African sign language covers all of the country´s 11 official languages, according to the federation. It wasn´t immediately clear if the unidentified man was using a
In August 2013 I became very sick with what I thought was a cold. After a few days I lost vision in my left eye and I checked into the hospital. I soon found out that what I thought was a summer cold was actually Strep bacteria poisoning my blood stream. The bacteria blinded my left eye, ate a hole through my heart, caused five strokes on both sides of my brain and forced the removal of my prosthetic left knee. Dr. Lee was the surgeon assigned to perform open heart surgery. What was originally scheduled to last four hours ended
House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) snapped at conservative groups that have come out in opposition to the budget deal reached Wednesday between Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) and Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.). "They´re using the American people for their own purposes. This is ridiculous," Boehner said at a press conference with other members of House Republican leadership on Wednesday. Over the past few days, a number of conservative groups have blasted the deal because it sets discretionary spending levels in the budget higher than previous levels under sequestration. In the past three days, the influential Heritage Action, Club for Growth, Americans
President Obama’s job approval among American voters has dropped to negative territory with just 38 percent voicing their approval versus the 58 who says they disapprove, according to a national poll released Tuesday by the independent Quinnipiac University. That is one percent less than the 39% who said they approved of him in last month’s poll. The majority of the 2,692 registered voters the University in early December said that the president is not honest and trustworthy. When asked, “Do you approve or disapprove of the way Barack Obama is handling his job as President?,” respondents gave Obama lackluster ratings
Looks like this president can’t get away with flirting in front of his wife… It appears that first lady Michelle Obama was none too pleased with the way that President Barack Obama was acting toward Denmark Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt during a ceremony honoring Nelson Mandela, and before too long, they switched seats. This lmao! Michelle Obama vs Prime Minister of Denmark at Mandela´s ceremony. pic.twitter.com/Rq4uF9fTaZ — Stun (@TheBlogPirate) December 10, 2013
The health director who approved the release of President Obama’s birth certificate has died in a plane crash, Hawaiian officials said Thursday. Loretta Fuddy died after the Cessna Grand Caravan aircraft she was travelling on went down shortly after leaving Kalaupapa Airport at around 3:15 p.m. local time (10:15 a.m. ET) on Wednesday. The other eight people on board were rescued, Richard Schuman, president of Makani Kai Air, told NBC News early Thursday, adding that that there was no indication as to why the plane had crashed. Fuddy hit the headlines two years ago when she approved a waiver request allowing Obama to
The sign language interpreter at Nelson Mandela´s memorial yesterday "made up his own signs," according to South Africa´s deaf federation. "He´s a complete fraud," Cara Loening, director of Sign Language Education and Development in Cape Town, said according to ITV News. "He wasn´t even doing anything, There was not one sign there. Nothing. He was literally flapping his arms around." Delphin Hlungwane, an official South African sign language interpreter at DeafSA, told Reuters:
If you go down on the ice today you´re sure of a big surprise - a rare glimpse of 20 polar bears gorging on a bloody midnight feast. These photographs show a rare cluster of males, females and cubs all dining out on the remains of a whale carcass. They spent a night and a day stripping every last morsel from the mammoth sea creature. Usually Polar bears are solitary and would never tolerate being so close to each other. But with food in plentiful supply and bellies dragging on the floor they seem too lethargic to fight.Wildlife photographer Michal
