The Dangerous Stupidity
of Oprah Winfrey

FrontPage Magazine, by Ben Shapiro

Original Article

With all of Hollywood prepared to bow down to the First Lady of Daytime Talk for her role in Lee Daniels’ The Butler, Oprah is taking the opportunity to push forward her favorite narrative: America remains a deeply racist place. In an interview with The Grio, Oprah, who plays a butler’s wife in the White House in The Butler, says that Trayvon Martin, the black teenager shot by George Zimmerman, is just like 1955 murder victim Emmitt Till: “Let me just tell you, in my mind, same thing. But you can [get] stuck in that and not

Comments:
The exact same thing could be said of Barack Hussein 0bama. It´s sickening to hear her comments when she has been so blessed in this wonderful country. It´s obvious the debts will never be paid for the sins of the past.

I have admiration for any one who builds a successful business. Oprah Winfrey has made brilliant moves in doing so over her career. But, because she is so prominent and so visible, her missteps are magnified and damaging. This is one of them. I have never been a fan of her show, seeing it only when I´m at the nail salon, but that´s just my taste, not a judgement on anyone else´s.

Oprah is a very rich huckster. She knows her stock-in-trade is "Sincere empathy." Ask her about her Zulu princess heritage.

I am not a celebrity worshiper and so never watched Oprah. Don´t watch any of the celebrity talk shows so I am not being racist. She is not ignorant; she is trying to stay relevant in her community be it the Hollywood community or the black community. Once she quit her show, people moved on. She is well respected by both whites and blacks. That does not sound racist to me. Not so much now.

I think I watched Oprah about 3 times in my life. I´ve picked up her magazine a couple of times, before I learned to carry my kindle to the doctor´s office. She´s influential, no doubt about it. But she isn´t very smart. There´s no similarity between Emmit Till and Treyvon Martin at all.

And yes, Oprah I have read a lot about the Civil Rights Movement.

Compare what Oprah said with what Paula Deen said. Paula Deen used a bad word in 1987 for someone who held a gun to her head and that´s inexcusable in 2013. Oprah in the here and now demonstrates a complete racially biased blindness for not distinguishing between Till and Martin´s deaths. To trivialize Emit Till´s horrific murder /torture and the targeting of him solely on the basis of flirting with a white girl is to me far far worse and monumentally offensive how dare her. Martin was in a bad neighborhood with a history of burglary and this innocent child happened, as it turns out, to have a history of being caught with burglary tools and stolen property. But in Oprah´s mind there isn´t a chance that Zimmerman tragically mishandled the management of a legitimate concern for his community? Nope he just gunned down Martin for being black. To cheapen the horrors of the past to perpetuate the socially acceptable pop culture mythology and race hucksters is inexcusable. But will anyone call for the fall of Oprah? Please note that I do not believe that racism is over and been irradiated, but we don´t make any progress with the kind of blindness demonstrated by Oprah.

Sure Oprah - but you´ll gladly take all the green that whites will spend on this movie - except this white person.

And leave it to a black American to totally denigrate the horrific murder/lynching of a 13 year old boy to the justifiable shooting of a 17 year old young man upto no good.

#2. She made her millions faking that "sincere empathy". She´s almost as phony as Obama, just as secretive as he is and perhaps even more of a bully. I lived near her in Chicago and would hear things, but not very loudly because she will freely spend her money on lawyers to intimidate people who dare say bad things about her. The papers there never ran gossip items on her for that reason-especially not after she worked to get a Tribune columnist dismissed. Here staff knows she´ll make good on her threats should they ever try to breach the confidentiality agreements they all have to sign.

I´ve always hoped she´d cross someone with deep enough pockets to take on her lawyers. There´s a boatload of narcissistic nastiness there behind the carefully managed facade.

The O´s claim to fame years from now will be she is the one who pushed the destroyer of America onto center stage. Due to her efforts, the country was saddled by O. And his magic touch was all it took to plummet her achievements. One day, hope to see her need to HAVE to hire Paula Deen as her Chef in her multi dollar ´ghetto´ kitchen. I have quit going to movie theaters, because I do not want to give money to the Hollywood brats who think they can force their liberal crap and views on the rest of us. However, I was going to see "The Butler" until I heard 0prah telling us we don´t know diddly squat about the abuse to blacks. She could only get away with an all black girls school in Africa.
She put Zippy on her show when he was an unknown senator, then the Wookie dropped her like a hot rock when they moved to DC.
She did a show one day on women around the world, but somehow focused on socialist in Denmark and how special it was that everyone was not only equal, but atheist.
She is a lot like Zippy, facts don´t matter.

Sending scores of armed agents along with helicopters and dogs to confront an elderly Nevada rancher over grazing fees may seem like overkill, but critics say it’s not inconsistent with the federal government’s recent approach to environmental enforcement. The simmering truce between the Bundys and the Bureau of Land Management comes after high-profile raids last year by armed federal agents on small-time gold miners in tiny Chicken, Alaska, and guitar makers at the Gibson Guitar facilities in Tennessee. That doesn’t include more subtle threats, such as recent efforts by the Obama administration to raise grazing fees or pressure

Rep. Joe Garcia (D-Fla.) is among the Democrats pressing Congress to take up immigration reform. On Tuesday, he told a conference call that deportations are breaking families apart and leaving children in foster care. "So the human toll has been horrific. This president, by implementation of existing law, has been forced to deport a huge number of Americans." Although Garcia may consider the deportees to be "Americans," legally they are not. But they might become citizens if Garcia and other immigration advocates get their way. Democrats are urging Republicans to sign their discharge petition, which would force a House vote on

Key members of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform expressed outrage at revelations made in newly released emails showing ex-IRS official Lois Lerner coordinating with the Department of Justice on prosecuting nonprofit groups. Thank God for Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration J. Russell George. His investigation of what turned out to be the IRS abuse scandal may well have saved the Constitution and the nation. For his fair and impartial investigation into the Internal Revenue Service’s abuse of Americans who dissent from President Obama’s agenda, Democrats have called for an investigation of him. George should not be investigated, but perhaps the Democrats who want him investigated — Reps. Gerry Connolly (D-VA) and Matt Cartwright (D-PA) — should be. Two white adults divided the toys, one equally and the other unequally. Seventy per cent of the toddlers chose to play with the researcher who distributed the toys fairly. But in a second test, when one researcher favoured a white recipient over an Asian one, they picked the ‘fair’ researcher less often, the journal Frontiers in Psychology reports. Second, the Obama administration, clearly embarrassed by these lavish and frequent family vacations, stonewalls the release of records at every turn. How do you ensure that you won’t be ostracized, denounced, or fired if you are a media celebrity, captain of industry, or high public official? For some, sexist banter is certainly no problem. Stand-up comedian Bill Maher called Sarah Palin a c–t and a tw-t, but suffered no ill consequences. David Letterman joked on air that Sarah Palin’s 14-year-old daughter had had sex with Alex Rodriguez during a New York Yankees game. There was no downside to that either.
