Benghazi: Is the Alleged
CIA Scandal Real?

Power Line, by John Hinderaker

Original Article

Posted By:StormCnter, 8/7/2013 6:06:18 AM

Over the last week, there has been a lot of buzz about a supposed CIA angle to the Benghazi story. Specifically, it has been alleged that a substantial number of CIA employees were on the ground in Benghazi, carrying out a mission that involved rounding up Libyan weapons and transferring them to rebels in Syria. Further, it has been reported that the CIA has leaned on its employees not to cooperate with Congressional investigations or the media, and it has been suggested that the CIA’s role in Benghazi may be related to the al Qaeda

John: please ask your congressional source if he supports a special committee to investigate. If he does not he may be part of the problem, and since you do not have that info in your article I do not take info from congress seriously.

I´ve always said there´s a huge reason Obama has tried to cover this up.Gunrunning to alqueda in Syria would be pretty bad I guess but I still think it´s worse than that because of the BS internet video they used as a cove up.That had to be planned in advance..There´s still the mystery of why 8 hours went by with no military response and Obama´s well timed disappearance.

The bottom line is why there was NO rescue of our consulate personnel. Left to die while O was busy. Busy doing what?

That is the real crime.

This happened in an election year - wholely due to the utter incompetence at the WH. The Obama Administration moved very quickly to cover this up which is how they blundered into the ridiculous u-Tube video excuse. Some brainchild toadie in the WH dreamed that one up then they sent Rice out to solemnly repeat this lie on every news show in the country. Hillary did what Hillary always does - quickly distanced herself from all of it. A string of fake illnesses kept her out of the news for weeks. The mission has been to avoid accountability at all costs and so far they have succeeded.

You have Spanky and Our Gang going up against Al Capone and the mob. Until these investigations get consolidated and triaged, scandal fatigue will be a huge problem. Al´s mob is counting on it.

Frankly, I am not sure if the Republicans are up to the task. There is no unity or defined strategy that will move all these investigations along. Get tough and demand the information and witnesses from the administration and quit spinning your wheels.

I watched CNN last night for the 1st time in years, after there was an L-Dot header about the upcoming Erin Burnett Benghazigate show. The hour was packed with details, timelines, legitimate questions. The presentation was UNbiased. I was stunned at her persistent questions & her ability to stay on track. Definitely worth watching if you can find a rerun or youtube.

Yesterday according to Rush ( quoting some news outlet) Valerie Jarrett gave the "stand down" order to Panetta and a General in the situation room in the WH. BO was off the grid.
If so ( and the story was in great detail), this could be huge. No Presidential advisor has the authority to issue such an order. Only the President can constitutionally. Other than the failure to save American lives, the big question is where was Bam for 8 hrs. and what was he doing?

Probably not, though I won´t completely discount it because it could be a double play. The only red light is the news media INTEREST in this, where they were busy digging holes and climbing in when our people were being murdered.

Sorry, John, but I disagree. The CIA Scandal is but one part of this multi-faceted scandal. The scandal actually STARTS with the gun-running to Syria, which was a JOINT operation b/t the State Dept and the CIA. EITHER the Syrians attacked our consulate to stop the gun-running or an Al Qaeda franchise attacked our consulate because, as terrorists are wont to do, they wanted to keep their weapons and inflict pain and embarrassment on the U.S. It´s one of two scenarios...either the Syrians got the best of us and interrupted the gun-running or the Al Qaeda terrorists, that we originally armed to overthrow Qaddafi got the best us and killed our people. Either way it is a scandal with Obama, Hillary and Rice all aware of the operation (along with Panetta) and when the manure hit the fan, none of them knew what to do b/c they are incompetent amateurs. Desperate to keep the gun-running under wraps, they concocted a half-baked story about a goofy Mohammed movie and, knowing they had willing accomplices in the press, foisted that on the American people during the election, and then had Candy Crowley back up the Won during the debate.

Get to the heart of the CIA operation and you blow the whole scandal wide open.

#9, I heard that too. Anywhere he was, he could have been reached, whether with his girlfriend..or some one else - they have phones. Drunk, on drugs, same thing over that long a period. Talking to Putin, sleeping, he could have been contacted. Look at the snipers and protection he had in Germany, he´s clearly paranoid. Paranoid people would keep their security close by. I doubt he would ever leave them behind.

However, there is one real possibility. What could he have been doing to not be in contact with someone? Frankly, I believe the only possibility is... really scary. Whether some posters want to admit it, prior drug use like Obama´s HAS been tied, through very real and credible research, to certain very, very serious mental illnesses. (We have a friend who, late in life, developed schizophrenia after years of heavy marijuana use. It is tragic, his life is destroyed. There was no actual genetic association, no nothing but the drugs.)

Serious stress can cause someone who is mentally ill to have certain reactions -including psychotic episodes.

A person in the throes of a psychotic episode wouldn´t be "available" no matter where they are on the planet. They aren´t in reality. They couldn´t come to the "Situation Room" to speak for themselves, or over the phone,so someone else, someone who knew about their "problem" would have to speak for them.

After all, this man clearly has some mental problems- the grandiosity, his bizarre behaviors, his narcissism, the constant and often unneeded lying, his name changes, the paranoia...

We deserve to know the truth...before he appoints a horse to his administration.

Re #8, it seems that that was what we were supposed to believe. That CNN´s report on the "truth" about Benghazi was factual, the real deal, unbiased.

You might want to have a look at this dissection of that broadcast, starting with the fact that it had to have been made some time ago as Erin Burnett is now "blooming" = hugely pregnant - and there was no sign of that in the video.

There are some shocking allegations here:

Another possibility:

Ambassador Stevens was to be snatched (unharmed) by the MB. He would then exchanged for the blind Sheik. The MB was told the facility would be unguarded.

Two things immediately went wrong; they couldn’t get Stevens out of the safe room before he died of smoke inhalation, and, unexpectedly, team showed up from the annex and ripped them up.

Having inadvertently killed their kidnap target, whom they had been told would be an easy snatch, they now found themselves, again contrary to promise, under an attack. Enraged at the double cross, they turned on the annex and killed their attackers.

The stand-down orders were part of the original deal with the MB that they would protected from a military response during the kidnapping. The CIA staffers on the ground are sequestered because they clearly saw that the “attack” was no such thing, at least until the double crossed MB turned their rage on the annex security staff, which had blind-sided them.

Obama was off the grid, as was Hillary, in order to have plausible deniability if things went wrong.

I have never before seen a Washington wide coverup. Whatever is going on is known by powerful figures in both parties and they all want it buried. I have said before that it won´t surprise me if Obama knew nothing of the details of the covert operation. If I learned that McCain led the operation it also wouldn´t surprise me.

So they went to all that trouble to cover up some gun running to Syrian rebels which they do now in the open? Al Qaeda (or Ansar al Sharia or whoever) would have attacked the ´consulate´(actually a CIA outpost) in Benghazi without Stevens being there? All the fake gun fire with no one being killed between the Libyan local defenders and the al Qaeda attackers signified nothing (e.g. there was no prior agreement to make it look good as they accomplished their actual purpose like maybe kidnapping Stevens)? So Hillary and Obama seized on a patently absurd cover up based on an extremely suspicious (seemingly arranged) riot in Egypt over an obscure YouTube video nobody had seen, all at considerable risk (everyone knows the cover up is worse than the crime) just because maybe people would complain that this proved al Qaeda wasn´t on the run like Obama had said it was or maybe people wouldn´t like transferring arms to the Syrian rebels (which they were going to do openly anyway)? Man they spook easily.

# 3 & 4 agree, bottom line is ,where was the Commander in Chief evening ,morning of 9/11. It´s coming up to a year and no one in the House or Senate has confronted this occupant of the WH to ask that simple question. There´s obviously a WH cover up similar to the IRS/FEC cover up.The House is slowly ( is it once a week) to get lower etchelon IRS workers to spill the beans. Why not get the President or Vice President to answer under oath who ordered the hold ups on the Conservative 501 tax exempt form validations. All this happened before the last Presidential election. It gave the incompetant one an edge in being elected since both candidates were so close. It appears Obama is using his position and his ability to tag anyone he deems a threat just by eavesdropping ,monitoring our telephone lines. This twit has to go, enough is enough.I wonder what it cost the taxpayer to evacuate all these embassies. It´s an embarassment to all of us that this creep is a paper tiger.

#28 -- To your point #2, why would Syria or Russia complain about gun-running before the campaign? It would´ve gotten them nowhere, especially with the Obama-run media...they´d just fluff it off as conspiracy theories being spread by Syria and their allies. And, after the fact, neither Syria nor Russia would take credit as what they did, attacking an American Consulate, was an act of war.

We´re in the middle of a proxy war between the Sunnis and Shi´a, and the Obama Administration is on the side of the Sunnis (Al Qaeda), just look at who they´ve helped to depose and replace.

I have to disagree with posters who thought the CNN show last night was unbiased. Erin Burnett closed with her reasons why Bengahzi happened and remains unresolved -- the administration delaying for election and political reasons and the Republicans wanting revenge. Huh? What did the Republicans have to do with Obama and his flunkies´ actions (or inactions)on the night of the attack that caused the lives of 4 Americans? Burnett, John King and Obama are all cowards for not facing the music.

Yes, I suspected the gun-running thing too. The deal boomeranged on Obie and he had to go hide. As for CNN´s Benghazi special report last night, I did not get much out of it that I did not already know. I thought Burnett went pretty light on Obie (who gave the order to stand down?). But, for CNN, an hour of something is better than an hour of nothing.

Megyn Kelly’s "Kelly File" is a great news show. She’s incisive, informed and customarily handles the toughest guest with aplomb. But her lengthy interview of Facebook C.O.O. Sheryl Sandberg about her second book in the Lean In series Lean In: For Graduates was a head shaker. Amazing that she of all people allowed Sandberg to restring the same old, same old, shamed, and shopworn feminist myths about women and girls and then jangle it in front of her viewing audience like something new out of the box. Indeed Kelly all but genuflected in front of this woman. Kept her on thru

On Saturday, I wrote about the standoff at Bundy Ranch. That post drew a remarkable amount of traffic, even though, as I wrote then, I had not quite decided what to make of the story. Since then, I have continued to study the facts and have drawn some conclusions. Here they are. First, it must be admitted that legally, Bundy doesn’t have a leg to stand on. The Bureau of Land Management has been charging him grazing fees since the early 1990s, which he has refused to pay. Further, BLM has issued orders limiting the area on which Bundy’s cows can

Like him or hate him, there is no disputing that Rush Limbaugh’s very special brand of mixing right-wing politics with his flare for entertainment has produced one of the most successful radio programs in the medium’s long history. Whatever the burning political question of the day, millions of Americans have relished the opportunity to tune into Rush’s program, knowing that he would quickly take that hot potato, throw a few gallons of verbal kerosene into the mix and elevate the matter into a five alarm fire with a just a few well-chosen words spoken in the style only Rush Limbaugh could

Less than a minute into his speech at the Boston marathon bombing memorial on Tuesday, Vice President Joe Biden went tragically off script and told the crowd of Boston bombing survivors that "it was worth it." After expressing how impressed he was with the tribute, he said somberly, "let me say to those ´quote survivors,´ my God, you have survived and you have soared. It was worth it. I mean this sincerely - just to hear each of you speak. You´re truly, truly inspiring." The audience sat in stunned silence until Biden declared, "I´ve never heard anything so beautiful than

Casual marijuana use may come with some not-so-casual side effects. For the first time ever, researchers at Northwestern University have analyzed the relationship between casual use of marijuana and brain changes – and found that young adults who used cannabis just once or twice a week showed significant abnormalities in two important brain structures. The study’s findings, to be published Wednesday in the Journal of Neuroscience, are similar to those of past research linking chronic, long-term marijuana use with mental illness and changes in brain development. Dr. Hans Breiter, co-senior study author, said he was inspired to look at the effects of casual

Look, everyone loves Sean Connery, particularly Sean Connery. That’s why he plays Sean Connery in every movie he’s in. People love that Scottish brogue so much, they don’t mind that he has it when he plays Juan Sánchez Villa-Lobos Ramírez, an immortal Spaniard in Highlander. The guy even won an Oscar for playing an Irish cop with a Scottish accent. Talk about sexist double standards: Meryl Streep has to master foreign dialects to get her golden statuettes. Connery just has to show up on time. In economics you devalue a currency by printing too much of it. In film you

Toddlers show racial bias when picking playmates, a study reveals. They also take account of how fairly others behave. Researchers tested the reaction of white 15-month-olds as toys were distributed. Two white adults divided the toys, one equally and the other unequally. Seventy per cent of the toddlers chose to play with the researcher who distributed the toys fairly. But in a second test, when one researcher favoured a white recipient over an Asian one, they picked the ‘fair’ researcher less often, the journal Frontiers in Psychology reports. And the babies are more likely to help those who share the same ethnicity, which is known as

Hank Aaron’s recent comments about the need for America to realize that racism is still very much alive and thriving — only now due to those who wear “neckties and starched shirts” rather than KKK hoods — has sparked an angry backlash and many fans are turning the tables, calling the baseball legend himself a racist. “Hank Aaron is a s*****g piece of [expletive] [racial slur],” one man said in an email to the Atlanta Braves’ front office, one of the teams Mr. Aaron used to play for, CBS News reported. “My old man instilled in my mind from a

Western Washington University sent a questionnaire to students asking them for advice on how the administration could succeed at making sure that in future years, “we are not as white as we are today.” The question notes that WWU’s racial make up does not perfectly reflect the nation at large, and asks students to consider strategies that other universities have used to focus on skin color as the paramount indicator of a student-applicant’s worth. The president of WWU has stated that his explicit goal is to reduce the white population on campus, according to Campus Reform. “I’ve said before and I’ll say it

How do you ensure that you won’t be ostracized, denounced, or fired if you are a media celebrity, captain of industry, or high public official? For some, sexist banter is certainly no problem. Stand-up comedian Bill Maher called Sarah Palin a c–t and a tw-t, but suffered no ill consequences. David Letterman joked on air that Sarah Palin’s 14-year-old daughter had had sex with Alex Rodriguez during a New York Yankees game. There was no downside to that either. President Obama tosses around “sweetie” as he wishes. No problem with that. No one believes Barack could be condescending to women.

When President Obama needed a preacher to fulfill the closing prayer duties at the annual White House Easter Prayer Breakfast, he turned to none other than the Episcopal Church’s first openly gay bishop — who said he was as shocked as anyone at the appointment. The Right Rev. Gene Robinson said in a tweet, accompanied by a photo of Mr. Obama behind a podium at the event: “POTUS ‘preaches’ at the Easter prayer breakfast. Then, out of the blue, asks ME to close with prayer. OMG!” Newsmax said he also emphasized that the words he chose to close the breakfast

WASHINGTON — Former President Jimmy Carter joined fellow Nobel laureates Wednesday in opposing Keystone XL, insisting that approving the pipeline would trigger “more climate upheaval” around the globe. In an open letter to President Barack Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry, Carter and the nine other Nobel Peace Prize winners bluntly warned the leaders: “Your decision on the Keystone XL tar sands pipeline will define your climate legacy.” The missive, published as an advertisement in Politico, represents the first time Carter has taken a position on the $5.4 billion project and makes him the first former president to come
