Obama administration is acting like

The Obama administration has been accused of behaving ´like a bunch of cowards´ after 19 embassies were closed in the wake of the Al Qaeda terror alert. Louis Gohmert, a Republican congressman from Texas, recalled the September 11, 2012 terror attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya. Clinton famously suggested in a Senate hearing that it was largely irrelevant whether the attack was the result of a terrorist plot or--as the administration initially claimed--an outgrowth of a spontaneous anti-U.S. protest. One does suppose the Obamugabe regime is composed of cowards ~ so they´re going to behave a certain way no matter what.

On the other hand I worked in US government owned buildings for 40 years. We had at least one bomb threat a year ~ (agency was a favorite target for a certain class of person) ~ and usually the bombs were real.

Worst one was a guy whose gal broke up with him so he packed her car with dynamite. She drove to work the next morning and parked in the basement.

He called up and said "hey, guess what, there´s a car filled with dynamite in your basement"

We were out of work for 2 days while they got that one cleared ~ but it was real.

I hope Louis doesn´t think I should have shown my bravery with one of those New Zealand dances or something. I hate sticking my tongue out....

On the other hand, if you have a threat from the top end of a terrorist group that they are going to ´do something´ you obviously need to protect your peeps in some manner ~ if only to reduce the incidence of death and dismemberment. Nothing wrong at all shutting down those embassies.

At the same time you should take the opportunity to begin additional extermination of the terrorist group ~ which is what it sounds like they did ~ and maybe start executing their prisoners already in your jails.

That´s what they´d do in the good old days ~ if Louis would like for Obama and his clown act to do that I´d heartily endorse it. All they respect is force ~ raw, violent, untamed force ~

Amen, #1. ´Nice´ or ´civilized´ as the libtards like to ´act´ - is viewed as weakness and invites attack. Fear has always worked for me. If they fear you right down to their core then lots of innocent people can sleep safely at night.

I agree this administration is acting like "a bunch of cowards." If the US insists on maintaining the guise of diplomatic relations with Islamic entities you go in knowing that the host governments, such as they may be loosely characterized, do not adhere to the civilized norms of diplomacy. Even the Red Chinese and Soviets played the game during the height of the cold war. Islamic states play a different game by feigning helplessness as our embassies are openly attacked and bombed by their brethren, often with host state complicity.

To have an embassy in such a place as Yemen, requires the US to play the game by the local rules, which necessitates US military protection and simple rules of engagement. To prevent military-style assaults or bombing attacks on our embassies, you need sufficient stand-off from surrounding structures. You also need sufficient offensive capabilities to extend your perimeter and clear zone as required by the nature of the threat by leveling local structures and killing those who pose a threat. If you take rocket fire from a church, no matter the denomination, paint it for the fast movers and their smart bombs. That type of diplomacy is simple, direct, and easily understood by host governments in the ME.

In other words, don´t close your embassies but send more Marines and allow them to mount an active defense no different than if they were protecting Peoria from armed invaders. Otherwise, quit pretending we even have an embassy and just wire them their tributes and pay-offs directly from DC.

Muslim culture does not appreciate what to a Western culture might seem sensible or appropriate. Muslims despise cowardice and weakness--as when someone shuts embassies and spirits the staff away.

Will you please understand that this kind of reaction only serves to encourage terrorists and increase not only their resolve to wipe out all non-Muslims worldwide but also the number of recruits. I shudder to think how many terrorists and terrorist wannabes are on their way to Yemen and other strongholds with the fire of victory in their fanatical, burning eyes.

George W. Bush understood this very well and it´s probably at least a part of the reason he needed a stent.

#5 ~ We are near the time where we will be able to fry any attacker on any American installation anywhere on the planet ~ From Space, or maybe from advanced Drones ~

There is no need under such circumstances to cater to anyone´s point of view regarding what is or is not cowardice or strength ~ you simply make them disappear into a puff of steam and sand.

This capability will be somewhat short of the glass parking lot scenarios envisioned by some but I think it will be remarkably effective.

Ed Miliband says he wants to be Britain’s “first Jewish PM”. He apparently has no ambitions to be its most historically informed. As any fule kno, Benjamin Disrael--one of the greatest PMs there ever was--was Jewish. Yes, he converted to Christianity. But Ed Miliband doesn’t even believe in God and describes himself as a “Jewish atheist”--so we’re talking about ethnic identity here, not religion. And Disraeli was keenly aware of his ethnicity, calling himself "the blank page between the Old Testament and the New". He said that he regarded the Christian church as "the only Jewish institution that remains

Laurene Powell Jobs has given $25,000 to the ´Ready for Hillary´ super PAC, a political campaign organization that has raised more than $4 million to lay the groundwork needed for former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton´s expected White House run. Sharon Elghanayan Corzine, the wife of former New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine, also put $25,000 on the table. Those killings, however, are only a fragment of the total harm caused by the misuse of firearms. Each year, more than 30,000 people die in the United States in firearm-related incidents. Many of those deaths involve handguns. The adoption of rules that will lessen the number of those incidents should be a matter of primary concern to both federal and state legislators.
