The Front Man

Original Article

Conservatives have for years attempted to put our finger upon precisely why Barack Obama strikes us as queer in precisely the way he does. There is an alienness about him, which in the fever swamps is expressed in all that ridiculous Kenyan-Muslim hokum, but his citizen-of-the-world shtick is strictly sophomore year — the great globalist does not even speak a foreign language. Obama has been called many things — radical, socialist — labels that may have him dead to rights at the phylum level but not down at his genus or species. His social circle includes

A must read... FTA

"Barack Obama is the first president of the democracy that John Adams warned us about."

and

"The real import of Barack Obama’s political career will be felt long after he leaves office, in the form of a permanently expanded state that is more assertive of its own interests and more ruthless in punishing its enemies."

The enemy are the American people that refuse to be servile to an evil government.
Mr. Williamson nails what I could not figure out how to say.

This is why I am seriously thinking about emigrating to another country and leaving the USA. The Republic is dead. If the GOP had any principles anymore, it would have stood up to his breaking the law. But instead it goes along with it, having been seduced by the bribes of power, and rather cheaply seduced at that.
When an American whistle blower, who has uncovered a heinous CRIME by the government has to flee to RUSSIA of all places for his safety, we´re done.

He does what he wants and will not stop until Congress decides to confront his lawlessness. He is comfortable in his imperial presidency because he, like every other progressive, knows what is best for the rest of us. He has the heart of a dictator and the media in his back pocket. He seems to be sitting in the catbird seat.

As I often say, Nobama is merely unzipping his pants and [a la the French Knight in Monty Python´s The Holy Grail] ´waving my private parts at your aunties!´

Also nice use of the word ´queer´ in the opening sentence. Kevin Williamson is often on Red Eye, and always worth watching [via DVR, since I am usually asleep at 0300 local].

Buchannon is safe in his record breaking worst ~ Carter and Obamugabe might have tried to challenge him but there they failed in the worst way possible.

But the business about him speaking only English is FAKE. George Washington did much the same thing ~ he grew up around French speaking people ~ even fought wars with and against them ~ and not once did anyone ever detect that he, himself spoke French.

That was because he always had a French language interpreter around. A quick review of the literature on Washington (about 200 feet of primary works, and several thousand secondary) can demonstrate this fact ~ some writers have even commented on the matter.

Obamugabe spent 20 years sitting in Rev. Wright´s church getting his street cred AND his American and American black accents correct.

He speaks another language but I bet even Michelle has no idea what it is ~ my guess is it´s Dutch ~ with a Curacao intonation.

Something that concerns me about this man´s two terms in office is that it has opened the door to future lawless, rogue administrations that will rule based upon their will and not the Constitution - be they Democrat or Republican. This is the Pandora´s Box that the left has opened.

FTA: "...what is particularly disturbing is the quiet, polite, workaday manner with which the administration goes about its business — and with which the American public accepts it."

Maybe true for some, but speaking for most LDotters here, not only do we NOT accept it, but we are infuriated and enraged over it.

Mark Levin talks about this often - the administrative state. He calls it a fourth branch of government which is not empowered by the constitution yet it cannot be touched by the electorate. One of the worst laws in this respect is Dodd Frank which funds its administrative arm directly from the treasury. There is no need for congressional appropriations to fund it. Obama fears the power of the purse most of all and the gutless GOP will not use this power to stop him.

Mr Williamson you have nailed it. The only thing that will stop the bureaucrat takeover is when America becomes Detroit and can no longer borrow. Then we will implode while people starve. After the depression people stood in line peacefully and they prayed in Time square. I don´t think , with all the hate that obama is fermenting , that will be the case this next time. I do not understand why we have representatives in the senate and house that are more afraid of what the press will say about them than they are about what their constituents will think.

Thanks to staff/Ms Lucianne for making this a Must Read. This article should stay up for a month - every American should read it if they value their life. I´m not kidding. Obama has given - no taken - the power of life and death to himself or to some committee in his administration. That is tyranny and a dictatorship.

Members of Congress know and understand what he has done. The Constitution has a remedy - Impeachment. What unconstitutional crime does Obama have to commit before Articles of Impeachment are filed? I´m sorry but Obama´s skin color is not a good excuse to abstain.

What makes Obama "alien" to Americans is the fact that every other President before him accepted his responsibilities as defined by his Oath of Office. While they may have deviated in certain ways, as a general rule, they took the Oath of Office seriously.

Obama, on the other hand, recited the words, completely ignoring their meaning. He has an agenda which completely contradicts that Oath, and it is that agenda he follows. Because he is black, Congress will not challenge him, allowing him to do whatever he wants with no reprecussions. He has tested the waters and gotten away with it every time. Even when the Courts rule against him, he ignores the courts.

Obama delegates his authority to panels of experts because he has no desire to do the hard work necessary to govern. He is the typical Affirmative Action hire. He delegates to those around him what are his responsibilites because it is beneath him to have to do the work. In his mind, he "deserves" the job because of his race.

In order to undo the damage he has done, every executive order, every hire in the federal government, every board he has established needs to be undone by the next President or it will become so entrenched, we will never get rid of them. The first department that needs too be cleared out is the DOJ. HHS, DHS, DOE should all be completely abolished.

A wonderful article. It both saddens and puzzles me that there are so many well thought out cautionary evaluations of our president and the movement which he advances, yet the argument that has carried the day in the past two elections has all the foundational analysis behind it as "you guys are poopy heads." The lure of free stuff taken from those who earn given to those who do not is that strong, and the end result of that path so difficult to grasp? I´m dumbfounded.

#25 ~ 69 million in 2008. 66 million in 2012. Democrats, after gaining 15 million new voters for the 2008 election more than made up for the current high death rate among baby boomers.

Republicans for some reason reached their high water mark with George Bush, and then cut back on new registrations. Death took away 4 million from 2004 to 2008.

Of course Republicans lost 2008 ~ NOT ENOUGH VOTERS!

Note that your thesis requires a substantial number of Republicans to have been TAKERS who then switched to vote for Obama ~ and who would those ´takers´ be? Elderly Republican coupon clippers perhaps?

Seriously, Republicans didn´t switch ~ the party failed to try new registrations until the 2012 race by which time they did get 5 million more thereby offsetting deaths of baby boomers ~ but it wasn´t enough!

Next time we will have ´enough´

FTA: He knows that he is not constitutionally empowered to pick and choose which laws will be enforced. This is a might-makes-right presidency, and if Barack Obama has been from time to time muddled and contradictory, he has been clear on the point that he has no intention of being limited by something so trivial as the law.

What a depressing, truthful article. Unfortunately, after reading another article listing all the wrongs of 0bama no one seems to offer any remedies to stop him. It is frustrating and infuriating to watch the destruction of our nation happen before our very eyes and Republicans (other than a very few who are castigated daily) don´t do anything to stop him.

Where were all of these opinions in 2007 and 2008? Nothing, nothing at all was written about someone who had no past, locked under seal everything from his Community Organizing days to his birth. Was there no curiosity back then. Goodness knows many, many of us reached out to all who had access to give the public the info or NON-info on this person.
All who did try to get the information out were labeled ´liars´ or they did not know what they were talking about, or the biggest label was ´RACIST´.
Today there are mountains of actions for anyone able to put something in print, having a microphone to be hollering impeachment and conviction of that impeachment. Where are they?

This is not American Idol ..... its the future of our country that is at stake. If Obama is taking unlawful control and making laws to end run the will of the American people (congress).. its not going to get better unless he´s called out on it. WHO is going to stop him?
I´m also surprised the Dems in Congress don´t seem to care that he is taking away their power as well!

Do-Over! Do-Over!

For years on these threads, I’ve contrasted BHO with characters such as Edgar Bergen’s Charlie McCarthy and Paul Winchell’s Jerry Mahoney; likening Obama to a puppet or marionette.

But, what was I thinking? How could I have forgotten to include Señor Wences and ´Johnny´, ingeniously formed by one of Wences’ hands? But, even more ingenious, ‘Pedro´, a torso-less head in a box. In the middle of a routine, Wences would lift the lid of the box and say "Are you alright?" to which Pedro would reply "S´alright". "S´alright" - which became a classic catchphrase.

So, with all due respect to Charley and Jerry, I’d like to add Johnny to the group. Moreover Pedro. Most especially Pedro!

Is that alright with you, Pedro?

“S’alright!”

#22 you are right on! Obama truly is a zero, in effort. He delegates everything to his overzealous liberal appointees. He is a Rod Blagojevich who even thumbed his nose at fellow democrats in high places. The bad news is when thrown in jail for selling Obama´s "empty" (never occupied) senate seat, Illinois still has residual democrats from the regime still running Illinois government. Whoever is next needs to get rid of the whole smelly infestation appointed by zero.

Reply 28, I can tell you where they are not. They are not in the Senate or the Presidency, nor are they in positions of power heading every department of our government.

The majority of voters, or of those who showed up or double voted, wanted to stop Bush´s fight against terrorism, wanted to stop racism by voting for a black man, believed in socialism, were lo fo voters who think the Republicans are for the "rich", wanted to stay on welfare, food stamps, unemployment (for life), disability, etc. or they did not vote because they disliked McCain, or Romney, and would never vote again for an "establishment" candidate.

A formidible array of opponents. Some of them are us.

The Heritage Foundation now has an arm that is going to be politically active. Contributions to this section are not tax exempt5. I have cont4ributed. John Boilton is circulating Petition for the governors to hold a convention in opposition to Obama´s policies. I have signed and sent a contribution. I joined a Tea Party but was dismayed at leadership´s insistence that we be "independent". I was dismayed by the Tea Parties lack of influence in the last election but I guess the harrassment from the gtovernment explains that. I hope there will be a resurgence in the next election.

Okay, for another thousand times, bho is evil incarnate, and he is destroying America, got it. Who doesn´t get it at this point. So lines have been drawn and there is nothing but us and them. It has been 5 years of this. Article after article saying essentially the same thing, bho is evil and he is destroying America. What is our side doing about it? What can they do about it? Why aren´t they fighting it? Why do they seem to be content to accept it? Like Obamacare, claiming there is nothing they can do, immigration where they claim they have to do something and that something is what the Left wants, and endless investigations which prove bho is evil, but they go no where. Are we powerless? What can be done? Where is our leadership? Yes, we have a political party. But they are our 62 Mets. We cheer them on, we never give up, and they just keep on losing. The latest came from Cruz on Obamacare. We need to win this one for our team because they are afraid to take the field. Our team is afraid to swing, use their power of appropriation, because they may lose their job. So they step to the plate and go down without swinging. We´re the Indians in Major League 2.

Another applicable word for front man is puppet, as both are always guided by other minds from behind the scenes, from uber bosses in the backroom. Neither of these types can actually speak for themselves, no matter how "smooth" they seem to appear. Look at our “cringing” front man: he HAS to have a teleprompter, or he’s helpless!! Even in front of his idiot lo fo government union worker audiences, he cannot speak from the heart, cannot reveal some new intriguing idea. Completely unable to speak for himself is the sad conclusion.
(Watch him interviewed by Lo Fo Leno on Tuesday night.) Restrictions placed on these employee "chosen" people, like all bureaucrats, restrictions, are always standing in the way. Obama could never in his lifetime allow himself to talk with the spontaneous brilliance of a Judge Andrew Napolitano, Mark Steyn, Mark Levin, Michelle Malkin, Sarah Palin, Ron Paul, Rush, Glenn, Michelle Bachmann, Ted Cruz, all those with a fire and patriot intellect that needs no teleprompter. Obama is a destructive, small time organizer, who was picked out of a crowd, for racial reasons, and brought out to market just like lying Slick Willie was “chosen” early on. The now, very silent-in-the-current-crisis, W Bush, was “chosen”, too. Let’s not repeat this same “chosen” error next time.

The special interests have representatives in Congress, and congressmen and senators care most about preserving their jobs, but the American people no longer have a representative in Congress. I think you could fit all of the true patriots in Washington, D.C on the head of a pin.

I think Obama has little intellectual curiosity. I believe he thinks he already knows all he needs to know. His policy is to install tired socialist programs, stemming from his anti-American, anti-business bent, and he´s content to let others formulate them. He´s not a hard worker. He´s forced into the foreign policy issues, against his will. He does love the perks of the office, though.

Yes, John Adams did warn us about "Democracy" and it being a very real danger to a country. History proves that. But unlike Adams, do WE have the courage to step forward and exercise our 2nd Amendment rights? After all, it´s just this type of government that the founders, of which Adams is one of, gave that right to us because they forsaw the necessity for it. Now, it´s all up to us.

Williamson gives Obama far too much leeway and paints much too benign a portrait of the man. His motives are far darker and more malevolent than the article suggests. We´re seeing it, and the individuals he surrounds himself with and selects to implement his policies confirm it. This is neither politics nor governance as usual.

America will respond to this outrage when it gets bad enough. We aren´t there yet. Then it will be no holds barred because the law will mean nothing to either side. My money is on the good guys.

His point about a dictator vs a faceless committee is well taken though. America has a dictator and his name is IPAB with oversight by the abortion queen.

Again and again, he is accurately analyzed, and we are dismayed, even frightened. But again and again, the Republicans do nothing significant to stop him. In the first page, he comes across as an empty suit, disengaged, not very bright -- but by the last page we understand that he is effective and persistent and sinister. He has his game down pat.

Hillary Clinton may end up deciding she wants to spend the 935 days until election 2016 making corporate speeches and spoiling her grandchild. Recent events have exposed weaknesses in Clinton’s supposedly impregnable armor, gaps through which a Democratic or Republican challenger could damage, perhaps even defeat her. The bad headlines to which she has been subjected are enough to make anyone—anyone who isn’t a Clinton—think twice about running for president. Look at the polls. This week’s Fox News poll has Clinton’s favorable rating at its lowest point in six years. She is at 49 percent favorable, 45 percent unfavorable—similar to her

President Barack Obama used his Thursday press conference to diagnose Republicans as fear-mongering, spiteful, obstinate, petulant and obstructive, as he again declared mission-accomplished in his effort to put the nation’s health-care under government control. “I recognize that their party is going through the stages of grief — anger and denial and all that stuff — and we’re not at acceptance yet,” Obama told reporters, where he announced that his Obamacare network had claimed 8 million subscribers. Obama coupled his passive-voice diatribe with his more-in-sorrow-than-anger promise that he “would much prefer a constructive conversation with the Republicans about how do we get some

The captain of a ferry that sank off the coast of South Korea Wednesday, leaving nearly 300 people missing, is under investigation as a possible criminal and was one of the first people to escape the doomed vessel, Coast Guard officials said. Lee Joon-seok, 69, left the ferry on a lifeboat 32 minutes after reporting an accident, officials said. The captain appeared on Korean television today, his face covered by a gray hoodie. “I am really sorry and deeply ashamed,” he said, as he was being questioned at the Mokpo Coast Guard Office. It´s unclear which of his actions could be considered criminal.

Soon after the tea party era began in Congress in 2011, President Obama and House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan each released their budgets, proposing how much the government should tax and spend over the rest of the decade. Three years into that budget showdown, Mr. Ryan and his Republican colleagues are winning. Government spending has slowed, and Mr. Obama’s plans for higher taxes and higher spending have fallen by the wayside. “The discretionary spending has in fact been driven by Republicans post-2010 clamping down,” said Douglas Holtz-Eakin, a former director of the Congressional Budget Office who is now president of the

Remember when Lois Lerner, in answering a planted question at an American Bar Association conference, admitted the IRS had targeted conservative groups but tried to pass it off as the work of rogue agents — “our line people in Cincinnati”? Today we know there were indeed federal agents involved. But they weren’t rogue, and they weren’t confined to IRS workers in Cincinnati. Thanks to a Freedom of Information request by Judicial Watch, we now have an e-mail Lerner sent to colleagues noting the Department of Justice was looking into criminal prosecutions of these tax-exempt groups. We know something else, too. These investigations

Ezra Klein, in his new capacity as one of the impresarios behind Vox, has written a pair of attention-grabbing posts — here, and then here — defending the proposition that Obamacare has, in some sense, “won,” and that conservatives who can’t come to terms with that victory can’t come to terms with reality itself. Reading them, it struck me that this argument would benefit from laying down some specific markers for the near future, because Klein seems to move back and forth between two definitions of success. At times, as when he writes that Obamacare “has won its survival” and

It’s no secret that Senate Majority Leader Harry M. Reid (D-Nev.) and Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) don’t like one another. They battle regularly over legislation and their Senate floor fights over arcane-but-important rules have become must-see entertainment for senatorial insiders. According to aides in both parties, the two leaders have not had a one-on-one sitdown to discuss legislation (or anything else) since late last year. Nowadays, all business is conducted on the phone or in brief discussions on the Senate floor. Part of that feud is political – Democrats targeted McConnell in 2008, Republicans targeted Reid in 2010, Democrats

Jews have reportedly been told to ´register´ with pro-Russian forces in the east Ukrainian city of Donetsk. They were also told they would need to provide a list of property they own as well as being ordered to pay a fee or face the threat of deportation. U.S. officials in Washington say leaflets bearing the chilling order have recently appeared in the city amid pro and anti-Russian protests as tensions rise in the area. It comes after Jews leaving a synagogue in the city of Donetsk were reportedly told they had to ´register´ with Ukranians trying to make the city part of Russia.United

In his column earlier this week, the Wall Street Journal’s Bret Stephens laid out his case against Rand Paul becoming the GOP’s presidential nominee. It was a powerful indictment and perhaps one worth building on. Mr. Stephens highlighted what he believes would be some of the obstacles facing Senator Paul, beginning with his long political association with Jack Hunter, alias the “Southern Avenger,” who among other things wrote an April 13, 2004 column titled “John Wilkes Booth Was Right.” The “Southern Avenger” said this: Although Lincoln’s assassin, John Wilkes Booth’s heart was in the right place, the Southern Avenger

When it comes to tracking the cost of Obama family vacations, there are two primary challenges. First, the Obamas are prolific jet-setters, so there are many details to track. Second, the Obama administration, clearly embarrassed by these lavish and frequent family vacations, stonewalls the release of records at every turn. But we have been relentless in pursuit of this information. Our attorneys file the lawsuits and make our case, and our investigators pour through pages of records and crunch the numbers. I am of course referring to the Bundy Ranch siege. This was a dispute between a Nevada ranching family with rights to the land in question for 140 years and the BLM (Bureayu of Land Management). The government claims they haven’t paid grazing fees for 20 years. The result was a government assault on the ranch- including snipers with assault rifles, SUV’s, helicopters, airplanes and over 200 heavily armed troops. No

Several elements of his comments were misleading: (1) At first blush, the 35 percent stat is both significant and impressive. As recently as last month, the share of "young invincibles" signing up for plans was struggling in the 25 percent range, far short of the actuarial target of nearly 40 percent. A leap into the mid-30´s, while still shy of the goal, would constitute a major step, and would bode well for the risk pools'
