Aetna Inc has withdrawn its applications to sell insurance plans on Maryland´s individual health exchange after it was asked to lower its rates by up to 29 percent, according to the state´s department of insurance. In an Aug. 1 letter sent to the Department of Insurance, Aetna said the required rate modifications cut premiums too low on both its Aetna and Coventry products. Aetna closed on the acquisition of Coventry Health Care this spring. "Unfortunately, we believe the modifications to the rates filed by Aetna and Coventry would not allow us to collect enough premiums to cover the cost

There goes the state exchange offering of interest for over half of the 24,000 Congressional employees on Capitol Hill.

They could very well be left without an insurance option at the exchanges.

Then IRS will fine them and take them to prison.

Oh, joy!

Stupidity tinged with Fascism!

That´s ObamaKKKare or you ~ and Obamugabe hissef´ as well!

In order to pay expenses it is necessary to charge enough to cover it. Of course if you have the means that our crooked politicians in congress have you just have someone else pay the bills.

This particular train wreck is merely one of the very first handful as the states try to implement the Obamacare rules and learn that they sick people only cost a lot more than the young healthy people. If the young healthy people don´t sign up and "pay one for Obama" the number of uninsured is going to go up. Aetna knows the economics and is not going to meet some arbitrary price plucked out of the air by the States. The next series of train wrecks will occur when the cost of subsidies is 3X the projections because Obama has said it is OK for subsidies to be paid for insurance purchased from federal exchanges. The final series of train wrecks will come when it is discovered that the federal government ran out of money and is printing the money to pay the subsidies.

Obama and his Marxist/socialist running dogs want to destroy the private insurance market so it can be replaced with government single-payer. The end-game was obvious when Obamacare was first passed. They have destroyed the best health-care system in the world...not a perfect one but the best by far.

These are the very people who write the laws or our remarkably illiterate and unlearned members of Congress.

NOTE: Peeps out there gotta´ start agreeing with me that Obama and his running dog lackeys are the stupidest bunch to ever nest in the Executive branch of government.

Does anybody find it odd that insurance premiums are going up, but they asked Aetna to lower rates by 29% ?

Most of these companies wiped out commissions to agents a couple of years ago for small groups. Those that wrote policies for the self employed worked for free.

Although the Civil Rights Act, the landmark legislation which just reached its 50th anniversary, made great strides in desegregating the economy, economic discrimination is still widespread, and anti-discrimination legislation alone can never rectify the economic damage inflicted upon blacks by slavery and our Jim Crow apartheid regime. The Civil Rights Act was a mild reform, all things considered, but one conservatives fought with vigor and one many conservatives are still bitter about to this day.
