Obama on unilateral action:
Lawyers? I don’t need lawyers.

Washington Examiner, by Byron York

Original Article

Posted By:LittleHoodedMonk, 7/28/2013 12:23:36 AM

In an interview after his speech Wednesday in Galesburg, Illinois, President Obama was asked if he consulted White House lawyers before unilaterally delaying the employer mandate in Obamacare. Since Congress, in the Affordable Care Act, specified that the mandate is go to into effect at the start of next year, reporters from the New York Times asked if the president investigated whether he had the legal authority to put it off without going through Congress. Obama didn’t exactly answer the question. But judging from what he said, his answer was: No, I didn’t consult White House lawyers

Comments:
Byron asks the right question and 0bama replies: "Present."

The reporter questioning obama was Jackie Calmes from THE NEW YORK TIMES of all places. obama stated he Did Not ask for any WH lawyer opinion to delay the business mandate. The fool, himself, does not have a law license-----it was rescind or otherwise the Illinois Bar after it had been notified was going to file a perjury charge against him for Lying on his application to the Bar. Lying----------that is all he knows!

And since he has the gall to overstep his authority, he needs to twiddle his thumbs somewhere other than the White House. He seems to forget that this is America where we don´t tolerate dictators.

You could gut Obamacare with one simple amendment which would say you can meet the mandate by buying catastrophic coverage only.Pick $6000- $8000 or whatever. Employers could afford this as could most people. There´s really no reason to force people to carry full coverage. The bulk of the cost shift in healthcare is due to uninsured people having super expensive treatments or surgeries.

If a business decided to go this way, they could afford to pay people more to help pay out of pocket expenses.

Has there ever been a President who so arrogantly and openly defies the Constitution? He truly believes he is entitled to rule over "we the people". The fact that the media lets this slide is an indication that they are, as we all know, in the tank for him. They will never turn on him because his beliefs are their beliefs. Progressives, while professing to be tolerant, are more than willing to do whatever it takes to advance their agenda. They let nothing stand in their way. They are the ones with the entitlement mentality. They believe they were born to rule, and compromise is not an option. They will destroy anyone in their path to reach their goal. Obama will do what he wants to do until someone stops him and there is no one with the power to do so and he knows it. That is why he is comfortable with outrageous statements.

FTA - "And if Congress thinks that what I’ve done is inappropriate or wrong in some fashion, they’re free to make that case. But there’s not an action that I take that you don’t have some folks in Congress who say that I’m usurping my authority. Some of those folks think I usurp my authority by having the gall to win the presidency. And I don’t think that’s a secret. But ultimately, I’m not concerned about their opinions — very few of them, by the way, are lawyers, much less constitutional lawyers."

This sums up his presidency. His arrogance is beyond the pale. His racial chip on his shoulder burns him badly. His superiority over other mere mortals in our congress and our country breeds a contempt for the very Constitutional liberties that he claims to hold dearly.

What is worse is that daily he dares congress to "do something." What cowards. What incompetents. If they had any guts at all, the gun running scheme would have brought a Watergate style investigation and articles of impeachment. But congress is so fearful of being called racists that they quiver in fear.

We need a House and Senate full of Maximus Decimus Meridius´s (the film, Gladiator, so fits our times).

#2 I don´t believe either of the obama´s law licenses were revoked, I believe the real truth is that they were voluntarily withdrawn due to not practicing law. So, looks like the Lucianne staff comment on this is true, barry definitely needs and is going to need a lawyer, more than one and some very good ones. The reason I bring this up is it is just as harmful for us to use easily disproven false info as it is for any dem you are having a discussion with to disprove your point. No reason to get in that position, we have plenty of REAL ammo already.

Only Congress can create or amend laws. Since the ACA law was not amended, the Employer Mandate goes into effect on the appointed date, no matter what any tyrant might state. Of course since the President has his hand in the so-called independent IRS and the DoJ, there is no mechanism to enforce any law or non-law in this Country that the Administration
wishes enforced or otherwise. and suing is useless, because it takes years for litigation of this type to reach a final decision.

It isn´t news that Obama acts like this. He has no opposition. He knows the GOP worships him. They believe the same things he does. He saved them from the Tea Party. John Boehner owes his life to Obama. Obama even has the Supreme Court when it matters most, eg the ObamaCare is a tax ruling. The only news is that more people aren´t talking about the GOP´s abdication which forces the US into a dictatorship. Unless you think the Bush family backed up by Fox News is the definition of an inspiring future for America. Occasional fake outrage sound bites from certain GOP are just so Politico and others have something to write about.

At the same time, John Rizzo, who left the CIA as acting general counsel in 2009, said some CIA employees or contractors were overzealous in the use of the tactics but that the CIA informed lawyers at the Justice Department of the excesses. In a filing with the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas on Tuesday, GM asked for a stay on litigation

When pro-Russia rallies took place last December, seeking to rival the Maidan demonstrations in Kiev, very few ribbons were seen.

Hank Aaron’s recent comments about the need for America to realize that racism is still very much alive and thriving — only now due to those who wear “neckties and starched shirts” rather than KKK hoods — has sparked an angry backlash and many fans are turning the tables, calling the baseball legend himself a racist. “Hank Aaron is a s*****g piece of [expletive] [racial slur],” one man said in an email to the Atlanta Braves’ front office, one of the teams Mr. Aaron used to play for, CBS News reported. “My old man instilled in my mind from a

Western Washington University sent a questionnaire to students asking them for advice on how the administration could succeed at making sure that in future years, “we are not as white as we are today.” The question notes that WWU’s racial make up does not perfectly reflect the nation at large, and asks students to consider strategies that other universities have used to focus on skin color as the paramount indicator of a student-applicant’s worth. The president of WWU has stated that his explicit goal is to reduce the white population on campus, according to Campus Reform. “I’ve said before and I’ll say it

How do you ensure that you won’t be ostracized, denounced, or fired if you are a media celebrity, captain of industry, or high public official? For some, sexist banter is certainly no problem. Stand-up comedian Bill Maher called Sarah Palin a c–t and a tw-t, but suffered no ill consequences. David Letterman joked on air that Sarah Palin’s 14-year-old daughter had had sex with Alex Rodriguez during a New York Yankees game. There was no downside to that either. President Obama tosses around “sweetie” as he wishes. No problem with that. No one believes Barack could be condescending to women.

WASHINGTON — Former President Jimmy Carter joined fellow Nobel laureates Wednesday in opposing Keystone XL, insisting that approving the pipeline would trigger “more climate upheaval” around the globe. In an open letter to President Barack Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry, Carter and the nine other Nobel Peace Prize winners bluntly warned the leaders: “Your decision on the Keystone XL tar sands pipeline will define your climate legacy.” The missive, published as an advertisement in Politico, represents the first time Carter has taken a position on the $5.4 billion project and makes him the first former president to come

When President Obama needed a preacher to fulfill the closing prayer duties at the annual White House Easter Prayer Breakfast, he turned to none other than the Episcopal Church’s first openly gay bishop — who said he was as shocked as anyone at the appointment. The Right Rev. Gene Robinson said in a tweet, accompanied by a photo of Mr. Obama behind a podium at the event: “POTUS ‘preaches’ at the Easter prayer breakfast. Then, out of the blue, asks ME to close with prayer. OMG!” Newsmax said he also emphasized that the words he chose to close the breakfast
