Global Jihad Is Here
American Thinker, by James Lewis

Original Article

Posted By:ScarletPimpernel, 7/27/2013 9:27:06 AM

"Global jihad is at our doorstep," said the head of Israel´s Military Intelligence this week. Unlike our media and politicians, Major-General Aviv Kochavi is paid to see reality without fear or favor, and to tell it like it is. American conservatives have thought so at least since the Twin Towers bombing in 2001, and some, like Andy McCarthy, have known it since the Blind Sheikh tried to truck-bomb the World Trade Center in 1993.

It really all begs one question: Why are at least three US Presidents failing to say so? If this is indeed so, none of them are heroes for it. Quite the contrary.

I´m not as pessimistic.
The actual Bush /Cheney global war on terror strategy was to turn the Muslim rage on itself so they sort out their own conflicts, rather than rage against the west. This is happening in Syria, Egypt and across the "Muslim World". As long as they´re focused on killing each other, rather than the civilized world, I´m fine with it.....it´s the best we can hope for given what we´re dealing with. Yes, 0bama is siding with the worst element of Islam at every opportunity, but the momentum started by the Bush/Cheney strategy will outlast 0bumbo´s blunders.
The problem is Islam and it is they who must sort it out.

#2 - I could not disagree more. Muslims have always been fighting each other, while at the same time uniting against the rest of the world. This is going to get much, much worse, especially if western countries continue allowing the jihadists to enter their lands. Islam causes mischief and wherever it goes.

How stupid! Global jihad has been here ever since the day Mohammad and his mob swarmed out of Arabia 1400 years ago. We´re not in the middle of a war, what´s going on now is just another in thousands of battles that the Moslems have perpetrated, each being just another event in the overall war.

It was a turning point in my life. Some people remember where they were when Kennedy was killed or Apollo 11 landed on the moon. I remember where I was the day Terri Schiavo died. I was crying in a bathroom stall at work, wondering what kind of merciless country I lived in. It was nine years ago this month. Looking back at the appeals and legislation surrounding the Terri Schiavo case makes my head spin. At the time, my family and I followed every twist, every turn, and every detail of her family’s struggle to keep her alive. Frankly I’d rather not look back. It only reminds of how messed up our laws were, and how much farther we’ve

A lawless and politically transparent Obama administration just became more so on both counts. The “imminent” decision to implement yet another delay of ObamaCare, reported by The Hill on Tuesday, became reality Wednesday. Americans who have plans that don’t comply with the ObamaCare mandates can keep them through October 2017, provided that their states allow it, according to the latest fixes. In addition, next year’s open enrollment period was extended by a month, and insurers will get additional financial help to offset the costs of claims made by new ObamaCare enrollees.

It´ll be a bit easier for Speaker John Boehner to get that famous tan now that he has a place in Florida. The Ohio Republican just bought a condo in tony Marco Island, FL, known for its tropical climate and white sand beaches. "This area of Florida has been the Boehners´ family vacation spot for many years, and rather than continue to put money into vacation rentals year after year, they decided to buy a condo. Their home is in West Chester, Ohio, and will continue to be,” Michael Steel, Boehner´s spokesman said.

Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is contracted to purchase 704,390,250 rounds of ammunition over the next four years, which is equal to a total of about 2,500 rounds per DHS agent, according to a January 2014 Government Accountability Office (GAO) report entitled Ammunition Purchases Have Declined Since 2009. “If DHS were to purchase all 704 million rounds over the next four years, and if they were used by 70,000 DHS agents and officers, it would be roughly 2,500 rounds per agent per year,” David Maurer, author of the GAO report, told CNSNews.com.

The Seattle Seahawks have revealed that a good part of their defensive strategy at the Super Bowl came from the fact that they were able to decode Peyton Manning´s hand signals on the field. Controversial corner back Richard Sherman said that he and his fellow defenders cracked the code that the Denver Broncos quarterback was using, meaning that they knew exactly what to expect for each play. ´We knew what route concepts they liked on different downs, so we jumped all the routes.

I am one of the people who actually is able to "keep" my previous plan with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois (BCBSIL) after I was "cancelled" and then told I could actually keep it. That being said, here is another little gem that was buried in ObamaCare. When my most recent bill (premium due) arrived from BCBSIL, there was an asterisk and an "explanation":

Upon migrating to the United States many years ago, I embraced my new home and left the past behind. Never could I imagine that, at some point, that past would become relevant. But now, I am compelled to talk about it again. In the USSR, we had state-controlled media which shaped the narrative entirely. Our founder, Vladimir Lenin, was portrayed as a noble, charismatic, and smart man -- the champion of the underdog (the working class), the seeker of equality, defeater of the rich.

It has been my contention that President Obama’s deal with Iran on nuclear weapons had little to do with stopping Iran from obtaining them, and much to do with his desire to achieve detente with the mullah-run Islamist regime. As I put it here: Obama isn’t motivated, as Israel and Saudi Arabia are, by a strong desire to keep Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons. That’s not the purpose of this deal. If it were, Obama would have held out for far more than what the mullahs gave him.

Gonorrhea and syphilis are on the rise in the U.S., mostly in men who have sex with men, a trend the government said is linked to inadequate testing among people stymied by homophobia and limited access to health care. The rate of new gonorrhea cases rose 4 percent in 2012 from the year before, while syphilis jumped 11 percent, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said today in a report. Rates for chlamydia, the most common of the bacterial sexually transmitted diseases, gained less than 1 percent.

Virginia is the worst state in the U.S. for burglars, according to a new nationwide study by a security systems company. According to statistics compiled by SimpliSafe Home Security Systems, Virginia homeowners are 46 percent less likely to be burgled than the national average. The study compares the legislative codes of all 50 states as well as the District of Columbia, and contrasts maximum and minimum burglary sentences, as well as maximum fines, as well as other factors. According to the study, Virginia has both the highest maximum fine for burglary--$100,000--as well as the toughest maximum prison sentence--life in prison.

ObamaCare and Dentistry

ObamaCare will change the American healthcare marketplace in unintended ways. It will have notable impact on the dental field, through mandated pedodontic coverage. Few people enjoy visiting the dentist; however, dental care may become more problematic. Within a few years, private dental care with a trusted and known practitioner may be limited. In the practice of medicine, a notable trend has been the movement of doctors toward employee status rather than owner/partner business practices. This relationship lessens the working hours that burden younger practitioner´s families and provides economic stability at a lower salary.

Police are investigating the possibility that the pilot of missing Flight MH370 hijacked his own aircraft in a bizarre political protest. The Mail on Sunday has learned that Captain Zaharie Ahmad Shah was an ‘obsessive’ supporter of Malaysia’s opposition leader, Anwar Ibrahim. And hours before the doomed flight left Kuala Lumpur it is understood 53-year-old Shah attended a controversial trial in which Ibrahim was jailed for five years. Campaigners say the politician, the key challenger to Malaysia’s ruling party, was the victim of a long-running smear campaign and had faced trumped-up charges. Police sources have confirmed that Shah was a vocal political activist

The day before the Iowa caucuses in 2008, I wrote about the massive crowds of young people at Barack Obama rallies, noting that his candidacy would collapse “if they don’t show up.” The next night, after Obama’s victory celebration in Des Moines, Obama strategist Steve Hildebrand spotted me in a crowd. “The kids showed up!” he said fiercely. They did. But where are they now? An army of 15 million voters under 30 swept Obama past Hillary Clinton and John McCain and to the presidency in 2008. More than 12 million helped him return in 2012. But now his presidency is on the line — and the Obama youth are abandoning him in

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) may be popular among hard-line conservatives nationally, but back home he’s in some hot water. According to an Emerson College poll, his favorability is underwater, by a margin of 43 to 48 percent. Moreover, his favorable/unfavorable rating with women is 39 to 50 percent. I asked the poll director for further detail and found: Republicans: 74 percent favorable, 18 percent unfavorable ~Democrats: 8 percent favorable, 82 percent unfavorable ~Independents: 38 percent favorable, 50 percent unfavorable

I got whacked pretty good. Since that time, my jeans fit very well."

By now it’s settled on most people, including Democrats, that the loss of Alex Sink to David Jolly in Florida’s 13th Congressional District was, in the words of the New York Times, “devastating” to Democrats. It’s a district Ms. Sink carried in her unsuccessful race for governor against Rick Scott, a district that Barack Obama carried in his two elections, and a district that demographically now favors Democrats. In addition, Ms. Sink raised more money and ran a better campaign than Jolly. Even Bill Clinton lent his efforts to her campaign. And yet she lost. What should particularly alarm Democrats is

Last week, the U.S. Tenth Circuit decided a case that should reverberate on Capitol Hill. In Kerr v. Hickenlooper, five Colorado legislators sought “standing” to challenge a state constitutional amendment. The three-judge panel — consisting of Carter and Clinton appointees — ruled in favor of the legislators’ standing. This decision should embolden members of Congress who correctly believe that President Obama has encroached upon Congress’ constitutional authority. Indeed, Congress should do no less in defending its authority than the five Colorado state legislators. Many members of Congress believe that numerous presidential actions — delaying various provisions of the Affordable Care
