Blond beauty set to sue
NYPD over sexy photos
swiped from iPhone

Newe York Daily News, by Rocco Parascandola*

Original Article

A Long Island beauty says NYPD cops seized her iPhone and that one of them stole sexually explicit photos and videos meant for her boyfriend’s eyes only. Pamela Held, 27, of Deer Park, is poised to sue the city and the Police Department, accusing a cop of invading her privacy by forwarding the provocative images from her iPhone. The steamy images of Held were sent to a personal cell phone that her lawyer said belongs to Officer Sean Christian. “It makes me sick,” Held told the Daily News. “I don’t even want to think about what he’s done with them.”

*and Bill Hutchinson

Leaving aside the fact that one shouldn´t keep naked photos of oneself on any picture taking device, there ought to be some legal recourse that enables this girl to take relief out of this cop´s hide. An old friend once told me that, generally speaking, the prettier the woman, the more likely she´ll be to take her clothes off for a camera. Bet Ms. Held wishes she hadn´t now.

Don´t suppose she´s thought about what might happen to such photos if she breaks up with that boyfriend. Or even if they get married, in the future they still might get divorced. Ladies, never leave a permanent reminder of a temporary feeling.

AUGUSTA, Ga. — Bill Haas shot a 4-under 68 to lead the Masters on Thursday, the first time he´s headed a major at the end of a round. The son of longtime PGA Tour player Jay Haas broke 70 for the first time in five Augusta National appearances. The 31-year-old American started the tournament with a bogey, but bounced back to knock in six birdies on a warm, sunny day when only three other players got into the 60s. The last two Masters winners, defending champion Adam Scott of Australia and 2012 winner Bubba Watson of the U.S., were both

The first time I saw Hirsi Ali it brought back memories of Oriana Fallaci speaking in a small room at Harvard 30 years before. Fallaci had the habit of leaning forward and jabbing at the air with a lighted cigarette to make points. An alleged hit man who killed for more than 30 years across the country has been charged with murder in the deaths of nine men in California, prosecutors announced Tuesday. Eight of the killings allegedly carried out by Jose Manuel Martinez, a self-described enforcer for a Mexican drug cartel, occurred in the Central Valley and one in Santa Barbara County. The victims were found by ranchers in fields and alongside country roads, according to the Tulare County district attorney´s office. One man was shot to death in his bed in Pixley while his four young children were at home. Martinez,

Car-tipping? Vandals upend ultra-compact
Smart cars in San Francisco

Urbanites have apparently found an answer to rural California´s long nefarious history of cow-tipping. A group of men in San Francisco have allegedly taken to car-tipping. Three Smart cars were "tipped over" late Sunday or early Monday, local media reported. The pint-sized, two-door coupes were either set on their hind quarters or tipped completely over. The feat of upending a car listed at roughly 1,800 pounds may take more muscle than merely pushing over a snoozing cow, but the vandals also appeared to know what they were doing, according to one witness. For the first time since 1997, the pre-tournament buzz at the Masters is not all about Tiger Woods. Yet here he is in the opening sentence. Augusta National and, especially, CBS expressed their regret at Woods´s withdrawal because of back surgery. A moment of silence. Now on with the show. ST. PETERSBURG — Nearly 100 environmental activists rallied Wednesday on the southeast corner of Williams Park, directly across the street from the company they were protesting: Duke Energy. The event was a collaboration among numerous groups, including the Sierra Club and Awake Pinellas. The alliance calls itself the Sunshine State Clean Energy Coalition. With more than 5,000 petitions calling for Duke to invest more in clean energy, they accused the utility of dragging its feet on alternative energy since it took over in Pinellas County and other parts of the state. “Use the power of the sun,” Sierra Club spokesman

After criticizing President Obama throughout his second term, I´ve reversed course and decided that he´s a tremendous leader, one of the greatest presidents in U.S. history. Perfection is too high of a bar to set for any man, or any president, but Obama has come close to clearing it. What stands between this president and Mount Rushmore? Republicans—specifically, the stubborn extremists who control the House under the weak leadership of Speaker John Boehner. Gridlock, hyper-partisanship, and ineffective governance, those traits that make Washington so unpopular with voters, are singularly the fault of the GOP. It is not Obama´s fault; none

(Snip) The pro-life demonstrators holding up their poster can be forgiven for thinking they were still in America. After all they had crossed no marked boundaries. So they thought it was alright to peaceably assemble. Carlota Gall of the New York Times describes what — if true — must be the biggest cover up in of all of the Obama administration’s checkered history. Her article is titled “What Pakistan Knew About Bin Laden”. But it is really about what the Obama administration knew that Pakistan knew about Bin Laden. The answer, as far as she can tell is that Washington knows for a fact that Osama bin Laden was Pakistan’s creature. They know it was Pakistan — or factions within it — that ran the whole war on terror. But, she writes, the Obama administration

Solar power has won the global argument. Photovoltaic energy is already so cheap that it competes with oil, diesel and liquefied natural gas in much of Asia without subsidies. Roughly 29pc of electricity capacity added in America last year came from solar, rising to 100pc even in Massachusetts and Vermont.[Snip] The technology is improving so fast--helped by the US military--that it has achieved a virtous circle.
